Debbie,
Maybe when your husband slows down a bit I can buy a Godzilla. He seems so busy that the one I like might be gone before I get the check there, lol. BTW I want the bigger one in the front row on the black block. (Dark green) So when he gets around to it, PM me. I'm sorry your MIL is being a $#@!# about this. She should be happy he's finding joy in it; it comes through everything you write. Tell him we wish him happiness and sales. BTW I didn't know Fit Bit could tell you how you slept. Interesting.
Also, I booked our Alaskan cruise with Norwegian. I got airfare, round trip from Vegas to Seattle, for $370 for both and shuttle service. On Weights ... I have a basket of fairly light weights beside my chair. That way, I can just reach down, grab one and do a few reps now and then.

You are always so creative about your exercise. I wish I could come up with quick fixes that would work for me. And, your crazy sleeping accommodations throughout your travels are just wild.
Ginny,
The Pacific Northwest and all through the western area is wonderful. You could spend a lifetime just exploring these areas. In fact I did till a few years ago I set my sights on Yellowstone. I was so glad I did. I planned the whole trip and we went during covid. I didn't know it was going to be covid, of course, it just worked out that way. There was practically no one there. I swear it was one of the most beautiful places I had ever been. We've even went back since. Simply amazing.
Heather,
I wish could get around to putting together all my writing in some sort of organized fashion. I write little vignettes like the paper boat story. I think I'll try to pull the family ones together and send it out with the cookbook my cousin and I are trying to create.
Lisa in AR
I kill all plants. Right now I working on killing some cactus that we have potted. I also have a few air plants hanging around waiting for a drink of water. Here in the desert, you have to soak them every once in a while or they don't get enough water. The problem is I keep forgetting. Your pictures of flowers makes me jealous, in a good way.
Annie,
You go for that pharmacy job. I know I couldn't do it. It seems very demanding to me. Do you like to work where it's always busy? Working with the people so closely might be something you can do well. You are so sweet on here I can't imagine you would have a hard time with that. It almost brought a tear to my eye hearing you talk about Teddy's vet appointment. I'm still struggling with my cat having the large lump. Her leg is starting to turn inward now. I just wish I knew how much longer she had.
Allie
Prayers for your daughter, It's hard to imagine something so exciting, and what should be a blessing, being so worrisome as well. Your egg pictures are so sweet. I'm sure to kiddos keeps things in perspective.
Beth
"Some concerns we need to deal with," sounds ominous prayers and hugs to you. Stay strong.
Rita
I'm so glad you found your watch, and I love your alien emoji. I spent some time in Roswell last year. What a fun place. BTW, My husband called me today to tell me it was national pistachio day and that's what we should have for dinner. It's so late I'm about to agree. LOL
Tina in CA
I don't have enough guts to get off the beaten path. It's cruise ships for me or only the US. I would like to see Niagara Falls someday, and I'll venture into Canada, but that's as far as I'll get. Have you seen a neurologist for your migraines? Mine offered me Botox, to which I said, "No," at the time. Now, my migraines have become so bad that I'm going back to talk to him about it.
Rosemarie
It's actually my Son in Law (This is why I almost never use those acronyms,) But it's just as good. He into his smoker. It's a guy thing, LOL On another note, I to would like to see Europe on a Viking Cruise, especially Ireland.
Michele
I'm so sorry you hit your leg. Sounds terrible. I hope it heals quickly.
Well, everyone, I hope I was able to reach out to most of you. If I missed you, you can call me out. Not really, but maybe you want to think about it. I don't mind.
I ranted a few posts back, so I won't again. Hubby is now home, 8:06PM, so dinner plans must change. Something quick is all I can do. I was trying to make something for Eat the Rainbow in Lose 1lb a Week. I don't know if I can, but I'm thinking about a salad. YUM!

Tracey, west of Edmonton for a bit then heading Northwest further still.
I hope you have a rainy/snowy March & April ... I think Alberta got some snow just the other day and I hope that helps.
We've had a dry year here so it's no surprise we've got bushfires going now.
The darker blue (and the numbers) is the rainfall this year. The lighter blue is the average rainfall.

I think I will clean up the shovels and sports equipment and see if the thrift store will take them. They can only say no and then maybe the boys and girls club would want some... I'm on a mission... Ha Ha
Betsy in NW WA
Thrift shops and Tip shops here would take all that!
About the only thing there a little hesitant to take is electrical appliances, in case something is wrong with them.
Michelle NV - I had to change antidepressants a few years ago. I went onto one kind a few months after my husband's accident, then my gynaecologic-oncologist decided I needed to change to another kind. I had to wean off the first, wait a couple weeks, then start the second. I hit a really, really, really low point during that transition. Really low. I have to thank my mother who was emailing me every day and encouraging me to keep on.
It takes a few weeks to get settled on antidepressants. When you first take them, they don't make much difference. If anything they make things worse. But a few weeks in, you'll start having good days again.

@Deb__23 Posting is optional. Not everyone is comfortable doing it. Great job on knocking the snacking on the head. Small steps are a good way to build better habits.
Rita: YAY! For finding watch.
Lanette: Happy to share. I’m with you on the ‘clean’ eating. I reckon that a majority of diet being clean is good enough.
Getting ready to go to craft after breakfast. Working on my crochet project.

I don't have a desire to take a cruise yet. If anything, maybe a river cruise, but that's doubtful for a while.
Tina in CA
I'm with you on the cruises. I don't mind the idea of river cruises in France, but not ocean-going cruises.
I tolerate the ocean-going overnight ferries I've been on, but I'm always relieved to get off.
Yay Rita!!

Michelle in NV
With exercise, I try to incorporate it into my day as much as possible rather than depending on a particular exercise time.
So I'll climb stairs at work, walk at lunch and walk to "run errands", lift weights when the mood strikes me while watching TV in the evening. I'm a fan of parking some distance away from things and walking, and taking the stairs to get places rather than taking the lift. I like working in the garden, especially digging and hauling rocks - landscaping - which works a whole set of muscles.
And I like trying new things ... like the fencing!
As for the sleeping accommodations, for most of my life, I have not liked the idea of spending a lot of money on a place to sleep. When I'm travelling, I'm often out all day cycling, hiking, sightseeing and being all sorts of active. That's what I want to spend my time and money on. At the end of the day, I'm so tired, I'll sleep just about anywhere!

Tuesday --
Lunch walk among the planets! They've put planets on the local cycleway.
Plus 16 flights of stairs up and 24 flights of stairs down.
I am trying to get out of the habit of going to the shops at lunch. I like visiting all the OP shops (thrift shops), and other places and picking up this or that. Lately, however, I go and don't get anything because I don't really need anything ... or I do get an item or two when I don't really need anything.
Instead, I'm trying to go for long-ish walks at lunch. Probably healthier for me.
Machka in Oz4 -
Good morning ladies!
Wow Machka you really got your numbers up quickly for the stair climbing. Just goes to show you are in great shape!
Michelle NV I agree about the antidepressants. You just have to hang on until they kick in. But keep talking to your doctor. I have to take a little "booster" pill with mine, and it makes all the difference. Also beware interactions with Benedryl.
I am so excited about the Pharmacy Technician stuff. Yes I like working with small groups of people. And I like when the workday goes by fast. When there's no pressure I feel like my work doesn't matter. So I think I will really like it. But I will have to get used to standing.
I need to go get an update on my aunt. I hear she is okay, but I never heard what the treatment was for the bowel obstruction. Maybe they don't want to talk about it.
Tuesday is groceries. I will be looking for that cabbage and Cole slaw dressing. And also dried apricots because my potassium intake is low. Sometimes it seems impossible to get all the nutrients inside of 1200 calories.
Teddy is doing well. He had two lumps on his back drained, so I have to be careful petting him. But at least he can't reach them, so he didn't get a cone. I think my dog listens to me better than my father does.
My dad has been leaving the freezer door open in the garage. I will have to get in the habit of checking it. He has been so forgetful his whole life, but this is new.
Have a great day ladies!

Migraine and witchy this morning. Storms rolling in. Direct TV not working for DH. But I have emptied the dishwasher!
Hugs and encouraging thoughts to you all!

Michelle NV – You have good company. Most of us fall at some point. I'm struggling with taking my sugar fix away (orange slice candy in the freezer - also known as a terrible perversion of healthy fruit slices). I felt the constant sugar trickle was making the gut issues worse. After a few days of no sugar, I bought a package of pains au chocolat from Aldi – 190 calories apiece. I ate through eight of those little suckers in two days! I'm aware that it's a stress thing from all the medica-lollapalooza right now, but I can usually wake up after a couple of things, not a couple of DAYS. I may have to get on Lanette's accountability weekly post so I have some way to get back in control.
April – I’ve become a homebody these days. I realized I forgot to add the countries and states I visited in an earlier post, all the states except Hawaii and Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Mexico and Canada. But when I write it all down, I realize that I have done enough (whatever enough is). I love being where I am. I think it's wonderful that you're happy at home. And we are all so happy to provide support for your son’s journey. Other voices become a lifeline when things are tough. I've leaned into this group of ladies unmercifully these last couple of years. Strong minds, strong arms surrounding you, willing hearts.
Michelle NV – On the plant subject, my ex-husband said he felt like an accessory to murder every time he bought me a plant. Time has been the key. It slowed down here. When I figured out that if I keep a plant alive and keep it healthy, it can add to my well-being for years to come, it made a difference. Rather than pitching it in the trash when it's done blooming this year, it's worth adding it to the rest of the plants to care for across the year. I also write a blue heart in my calendar planner when I water the plants, so it's easy to see when they are in need again. Never did that before, as I knew I'd be moving, so why bother? I always sold or gave away any plants that survived my policy of benign neglect every time I moved.
Kylia and Michele – Those cuts sound awful. Hope you're both up on your tetanus shots!
@Deb__23 – I think a couple folks are doing the 12-hour fasting, post whenever or as Barbie says, post when inspired to do so. I rabbit on forever, but not everyone does, and all are welcome either way.
Annie – Well done on the pharmacy tech follow-through!
Have to be in the shower by 7:45 and leave for town by 8:45, so need to finish taking my morning meds and finish my coffee. At least I don't have to be fasting for this test, thank goodness. 😊That's next week! 👀👿😐 Such fun.
Love y'all,

Michelle NV If you get munchies again try to say I am going to drink a half glass of water before I eat the next thing. This will hopefully slow you down and or you could be eating because you are dehydrated.
April I am going to look for some recipes to make my own yogurt. Thank you!
I like the idea of playing the kind of music your son found calming before. One of the things they said on the summit is feeling safe and comfort helps with healing. I know you remind him how loved he is.
Found one using a crock pot. I put whole milk on my list and when I can start it at 2 in afternoon I will give it a try. You cook milk on low for 2.5 hours then rest 3 next stir in yogurt. Cover with towels or blanket and then let sit in crock pot 8-12 hours. Store in glass jars. I know this can be done with an insta-pot. I don't own one so I will use the 40 year old crockpot I have. If I want thicker yogurt I can strain with a cheese cloth. I will let you know what I think when I have the chance to make it.
My DH used a smaller crock pot. I might half the recipe and try it in that first.

I remembered why I got intimidated last time I was studying my pharmacy tech book. It starts off with a fifty page chart of drugs and their info to be memorized. Ouch. I think I will start with medical terminology instead. And then I will get flashcards for the drugs, and do them a chunk at a time. This really is going to take time.

The dentist went fine. She took x-rays, and all was OK. I was thinking about booking the hygienist, but the chap on the reception was disputing his bill, so I left after a while. For some unfathomable reason, I had a credit on my account, so I only had to pay £2.
So that was a 20 min walk with a break in the middle, and just had another 25 min one to and from school with breaks. Better than nothing. It hurt, but all the advice is to keep pushing. I.must make myself go out when I have nowhere to go. I do like a destination.
To be cont....

Yesterday we had high winds followed by snow followed by hail. Later in the day the power went out. It was out for less than two hours and just before it came back on I got an automated phone call from a county agency telling me the extent of the power outage, that people should stay off the roads except for emergency, and that they were working to correct the problem.
Heather, I'm thinking good thoughts for you and your health challenges . You are meeting them with the same focus that you use on other parts of your life. I admire you.
April, I hope you keep coming back. You have many challenges right now and this is the place to share them and to get encouragement to keep on keeping on.
Annie, You can learn all those terms. Just like eating an elephant---one bite at a time.

Today’s gratitude: Able to listen to Joe’s advice without getting defensive or dug in. Pastor’s wife’s flexibility and offer to come get me if needed.
Monday’s gratitude: puppy zoomies. Made it home safe yesterday.
Sunday’s gratitude: wii came back to life after I unplugged it and let it rest a bit.
Gang agley: Today’s plan was to follow Joe to car repair to drop off Jeep. Bring him home, pick up the dogs and take to new doggy daycare. Casserole-a-thon, pickup dogs, drop them at home while picking Joe up to take him to pick up repaired Jeep.
This morning’s many travel plans "gang agley" when I heard a terrible SKREEEEEEEEK driving home yesterday. Maybe from my car, maybe from the guys working in a hole near the power pole. Joe thinks it might be brakes. When he gets back from his Jeep repair we'll take it in to Les Schwab, either this afternoon or tomorrow morning. Doggie daycare test and Casserole-a-thon postponed until we have two working vehicles.
Ginny I liked your “. . . get my flexibility out” Me too. Thankful was able to be flexible when Joe was advising various courses of action. Now if only my physical flexibility matched my new-found emotional flexibility ;}
Annie “…better him than me” Yay for the bike and walking!!!
Lisa ladders and chainsaws :wow: oh my! My adrenaline is right up there with yours. Yours to Kylia about time with DH perfectly describes my first cup of tea visit with Joe every morning. He and Corey could be brothers from another mother when it comes to talking about their feelings.
Betsy “…I have to actually use them to gain muscle????? Yikes what a downer.” Ditto this, AND I have to actually take all those supplements I bought for them to work. SMH.
Margaret what you said about listening to calming music while sitting with your son in ICU. Yes it helped you and that helped your son more than we can know.
Kylia you’re right about the weather, we had some 60+F days last week and now there is up to 5” snow forecast for our location Saturday.
Rita tough choices. As a “better than nothing” plan could you join your friends via FaceTime, FB live or Zoom? Con VERY gratulations for proving diet works to improve kidneys. VERY well done!
April, likewise VERY well done. Our mfp friends’ wisdom is life changing. Those mindful movements will do much to keep your blood circulating and your muscles alive. Keep up the good work.
Debbie didn’t know about your close Covid call getting off the Princess shop. WOW.
Heather ((hugs)) you inspire me to get back to my sit-to-stands, I have trouble with stairs when I don’t do them.2/25: Move mins- wii: PT:0 d:0 x&a:0 dogs:0 Jeopardy walking:67 Steps: 7264Only through pg 58 but timer just bonged, so

Afternoon all
Well ol Allie got out for a quick walk.. I went once around my building but hey its a start.
Tom is really enjoying having Alfie, Alfie has the back yard to run around in and has gone for 2 walks already....Im glad its working out for us all..
Here is my little leprechaun...8 -
Rita--So happy you found your watch.
Allie--Sending prayers for all of you and the babies
Lisa--those costs are terrible. I know if it was not for the insurance and med company cupon I would not be able to take my weekly shot. Starting this year with our new insurance I have to get pre-aproved to get the shot. Not happy about that, but understand because so many doctors are using it for weight loss.
As for traveling. DH and I take trip around the USA and last year we did go to Canada. I never thought I would get to see so much, but know it is because of DH and planning, First husband and I lived paycheck to paycheck and never could of afforded to leave the state. Some day I want to go to Niagara Falls and to the ocean.
Well yesterday it was in the 70's DH picked me up on the motorcycle. Today is 20"s and windy with chance of snow or rain this afternoon.

I will let you know as soon as we get caught up on all he needs to have done for the next three shows.
They are all a bit different- the bases are always a bit different, depending on what we can find.
They are all hand painted high lights so a bit different plus when he finds new files or new techniques or new filaments.
With the fitbit app it not only tells you how much sleep you got, how much of each type, how many times you were awake and how many times you were restless.
I love that part- it was great to actually see why I was getting up feeling so tired each morning.
I have always had trouble with insomnia even as a kid(remember just getting up walking around in the cold house trying to get chilled so I would use up energy warming up under my nice heavy quilt.
I take melatonin gummies as well as a dark cherry juice that is supposed to be good for sleeping. Take warm massaging showers in the dark to help too. All helps a little.
Even after basically no sleep night before last, I still had trouble sleeping last night. I did get enough.
Heading over to walk Kobe(mil's dog) while dh cuts his mom's hair. I will take him for a longer walk today. Weather is perfect for it. Rain is coming back Thursday so may miss my walk at the wetlands or, I will just dress in my rain gear and enjoy the walk anyways(won't be many birds to see out then though)

Threw all the Valentines Day leftovers from the freezer into the IP and added frozen spinach. Delicious. It has to be an almost instant meal when we get back from school duty. My son brought us home on the way to Edie 's football. Pleased I had the inspiration.
The chick peas were thoroughly cooked at last.
Quiet night ahead. Tomorrow night we have French Circle.

Thanks Barbie and Barbara!
Giant only had one Cole slaw dressing and it was high calorie. I looked at ranch, but it was high calorie and had MSG. I picked a creamy Italian to try on the cabbage. It's 80 calories per 2 tablespoons. I kinda thought it would have milk or mayo in it, but nope. I have to wait until tomorrow to try it, ran out of calories for today.

I make coleslaw dressing using mostly plain yogurt, apple cider vinegar, salt & pepper, about a tbsp. sugar, and a little bit of mayo for structure. Maybe I'll put some cayenne in it from time to time depending on my mood. You can thin it out with lemon or lime juice if needed.

I tried a third cup of chopped cabbage with a tablespoon of creamy Italian dressing for 47 calories. The taste was mediocre. But there was a lot to chew on, lol. I think it was missing sugar. I think next I will try one of the skinny girl dressings; they have stevia.
Tina thanks you may have the better recipe there.
