Planted more seeds with my grandchildren yesterday. It was a lot of fun and also gave their parents a few hours break on a Sunday afternoon.

Not AF last night - tried an awful tasting dark NA 0.0 Guinness and switched to a 6 1/2 oz. pour of good white wine around 8:00 pm. I probably should have just got in bed at that point, but with the new time change I wasn’t able to do an early to bed as I hoped.

Desire is get back to my weekly goal and make the next 3 days AF days until Thursday. Each day is a new beginning for us!

@dmally1 thanks for giving us a glimpse into your success! You are doing fantastic. I think it does help to look at the whys of why we drink or overeat to help us find the best solutions. I agree for me too, overdrinking causes much more stress than without it! Finding sustainable goals does help.

I've just been reading through the posts here and decided I would like to join in. You're all very inspiring and it would be great to be a part of this lively and friendly bunch.
I know some of March is past already, but I'm hoping to make the rest of March AF since I've been hitting the wine pretty hard these past few months.
About a year and a half ago I quit drinking for months, but then a couple at Christmas, couple on Valetine's Day, so on and so on, and then it just grew to a lot again all last year. I'm not sure I can get to a point where I have just one or two, once I start I tend to keep going for the rest of the day/night. So I'm thinking this will be a permanent thing for me. I can stop for a few days, but have been having trouble stringing together more than 4 in a row lately.
So, with 21 days left in March, I think this will give me a good starting off point.
I'm looking forward to checking in tomorrow am. B)

Welcome to the LA 'club' LOL can't wait to learn more about you

Only one glass of wine the last two nights. Yay! Progress!

    Welcome @SparkSpringtime69! Glad you’re here.

@itladyee congrats on the news of your second grandchild! That’s so exciting!

11 AF- I'm a bit frustrated because I've cut alcohol calories and I made some food swaps to lower my calorie intake, but I have actually gained 3 pounds as a result.

hang in there I see a 'whoosh' in your future

Yes! This! I feel your frustration though, @tmbg. Totally valid!

    Hello everyone
I was finally able to sleep last night!.

    RANT HERE
Contacted dr. about insomnia....the response. Oh only 2% of those taking that med have insomnia and you have been taking it for almost 3 weeks and it started so we can't help you. Suggested I either stop the meds for 2-3 weeks to see if I have relief or just quit them altogether with no offer of a sub??? WTF. I have a history with having reactions to new drugs going back almost 20 years. Some side effects don't show up for months. It seems this office, since I can't pay for 'infusions' at $550 (after $1300 initial start up) every other month for the rest of my life, is not interested in really treating me. This is a specialist FGS.

    Ok my rant is over

I think I will be looking for a new dr. but they are so slim in this area.

I did have 1/2 glass of wine tonight just to sip with dinner. took me over an hour to finish it.

we have not been to the YMCA for the past 5 days DH has been fighting off a cold and he can't be sick when we fly out on Wednesday for my mom's 90th b/d.

@dmally1 congrats on your will power!

That completely stinks! Sorry you’re going through this. I hope you find relief from insomnia, and that your hubby feels better.

@lmlmrn I hope you have success in finding a new doctor. Good job staying with just 1/2 glass of wine, and I hope your DH gets better soon.

@tmbg1 : It’s always so frustrating! Lean in. When you eat less than you burn, you WILL lose weight.

@SparkSpringtime69 : Welcome! Sober living is good living!

@xbowhunter : I’m motivated to drink lightly by digestive issues caused by alcohol. Reflux and the poops are really not fun!

@lmlmrn : If you have a bad reaction to a drug that’s a good enough reason to question taking it. Who cares about anyone else in this regard!

About me: I’m on track so far for a very sober March. But, I’m dogged by sinus and breathing problems. Arg. Trying to increase my exercise level.

A: 2 (last two days of vacation, first two days of the month)
    NA: 9 (since then)
