Had a ball this weekend. Really enjoyed all of it. Ren Faire weekend 2, and we 'glamped' at Huttopia from Sat to Tue.

loved being in a tent, whiling away an afternoon in a lake (with a same beach!), toasting marshmallows on the campfire, playng board games under fairy lights on the attached deck, and I really loved having electricity, flush toilet, fan, mini fridge, and hit shower intgectent ;-).

    GL with new boss, walkin!

Thanks, they don't seem to last, probably because there is so much drama. Its bound to happen as there is 58-68 people on this team. Holidays they add a few more. Ages range from 16-84. Of course I just shake my head, navigate the drama and keep on rollin.

new boss is doing ok, still early yet. Walking a lot more to deal with stress. weight had a tick downward. Made 4 batches of elderberry syrup. Trying to find some people that want some berries so they don't go to waste.

Here! I am here! My mind was wandering all thru July bc of multiple 4-day weekends, and an out-of-town visitor. I've been lost in playing with a spreadsheet for a break challenge for my turtle team, the last week or so. I was just telling a friend about it, in another thread. Want to see? :D I'm telling her about a Bingo Board that we used to play with together, that I've continued working on, elsewhere:

I have been working on perfecting that Bingo board for a few months now, on and off. Whenever one of the weeks for my other challenge featured a Bingo Board, I'd play with it. We're on a 5-wk break right now. One of my teammates adapted a feature of one of my other team's internal challenges (personal exercise goal, personal nutrition goal, and personal self-improvement goal) to a really fun, appealingly-colored color scheme that ties in to her 2025 personal Vision Verse (2025 Vision Verse: "For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline." 2 Timothy 1:7).

I built it out to encompass 12-wks, plus a bonus week, and a summary board for the weeks, with each week featuring a similarly inspired inspo verse from multiple religious and philosophical texts (thanks, Chat GPT), along with one original inspo verse penned by Chatty 5 (the newest model is Chat GPT -5O or however it's written :p). I call it Chatty sometimes, so I called its 'pen name' Chatty 5 for the credit ;-).)

Anyway, I know how we both love checking out new ways to organize ourselves (lol), so you want to see? :D. It's turtle-featured, bc my other team has a tortoise mascot. The Goals board layout inspo is from b3achy's board. The Bingo board is pretty neat, bc both the big board, and the snapshot board above it, 'color themselves in' as you check off a box as completed. The not-so-neat part of these trackers is, I haven't actually filled in many bingo squares yet, bc I was checked out for vaca, then zoomed in on spreadsheeting :p. The new week starts on Wed, so tomorrow (for sure!) I buckle down!

    Cheers, ~ mk :)

Edit - I finally have the structure I want for the Bingo Board, but I haven't turned my attention yet to updating it on our link, bc I was in over my head trying to keep up with 2 teams of challenges :p (and then on top of that, I joined a third team so I could participate in the Atomic Habits read, plus I have my greenie group, which I haven't visited in a week ! ). But I want to, for our bingo link, add add different colors for planned, completed, bingo, etc, and add the dropdown that allows for that. Plus, what I really want, is a 'picker' that will autopopulate my day list, pulling from the bingo boards! heh. All that is in future, tho. I'm happy with what I have, for now.

holy he'll mk no wonder u haven't been here. You are so busy. that spreadsheet is amazing! I haven't learned how to do anything like that. Long time ago I was on bl. How u keeping up with 3 teams and coming to this page? i do have a group called Fit Force, its part of the bigger 5% community. I'm doing ok with it this time around.
    I would share the berries!

LOL, well I was in over my head for several weeks, there. I love the weekly challenges the Hogwarts and the BLC communities put together, tho. And I re-joined the FatFit community bc I wanted to participate in their group read of Atomic Habits (except I didn't because I was in over my head, lol). But THIS group, I love Mikey's little band of merry can-do-ers! Even if mikey isn't here so often any more. Something special about you guys, it's always a lift to read in here 💖💥💦💫. I thought a few times about re-joining the 5% challenge, I only tried it for a few weeks in the summer of '23 before I bailed on MFP altogether (for bout 6-8 mos or so), following my left knee (2nd knee) injury. I wasn't in that group long enough to get a feel for how the Community works. Was it just traveling the world, based on miles traveled by your team? How did you choose your team? Are each of the teams kind of different, and do different things?

    Cheers~! mk :)

PS - thanks! on the berries!! and on the spreadsheet Xx

They changed the race thing, now its who breaks the ribbon first. Each team has their own way of doing things to a certain degree. some are more competitive, some laid back. I started on team six, just liked the name. Then we chose the team name: Fit Force. I have been on that team since leaving Sparkpeople. I have stayed for the friendship and gives me something to think about. It is about our own weight loss of 5%. Of course with a team wanting the same thing.

rofl ! I suspect you are a fun co-worker, walkin!

Hitting Planet Fitness today. Managed 2x last week, but no times this week (yet). I'm counting Sunday as Day 7 not Day 1 in that construction. ;-).

Working on my Turtle team Bingo. Veerrrryyy far behind! Sixteen squares to go, and 11 days to do it!

When you check off a box as 'completed' in the Detail view, it colors in that square (in the Detail view board), as well as the corresonding square in the Snapshot view. The 'squares to go' countdown also auto-updates. All of which I love, lol.

Detail view - Tortoise Team's -wk summer break board:

As I mentioned, I'm waaayyyy behind schedule! I have 11 days left, and 16 squares still to complete :o !

    Cheers ~ mk :)

Woohooo!! Sorry I did lose track of the page, it's not easy to find be when there aren't notifications, and a few times in the last couple mins my notifications popped up so high I just marked them all as read :/.

How long did it take you to reach goal? What are your strategies for bringing down chol?

exercise, adding more veggies half a plate, fiber ex beans, chia seed, adding fish 2x week
not sure what else to do for it.

A few months ago I read what a guy did to lose weight, he ate at his bmr, did light exercise like walking. every 3-4 days I ate at what mfp gives for losing weight. never eat under the bmr as that sends u spiriling into feeding frenzy. the diet industry doesn't do very well for people. the food additives in the man made foods keep you coming back for more. Kinda keto. 4 months to get where i wanted to b.

    mkksemail Posts: 4,794 Member

Interesting! When you say you are at home, and every 3-4 days you are at what MFP gives for losing weight, does that mean you mostly ate below what MFP gives for losing weight?

  • walkintofit
    walkintofit Posts: 6,001 Member

go to calculator.net to figure out your bmr. i ate at that then every third or fourth day at what mfp gives for your weigh loss. bmr=basel metabolic rate. It is the rate that u burn just doing nothing at all.
I will look for the link that the guy wrote to tell you more about it.
