Good morning!

Challenge Goal: 176
8/8: 185.1 (-0.9)
8/15: 182.8 (-3.2)
8/22: 183.6 (-2.4) I logged 5/7 days but only two days of exercise. Schedule wise, morning is the best time for me to exercise but it requires that I get to bed by 10, which I haven’t been doing. Not enough sleep = no exercise. My priority this week will be getting to bed earlier!

Registered a small loss this week. Had a good week but was not as prepared as I would have liked to have been so next week will prep more for the week ahead!
Well done to everyone on your efforts this week and best of luck for the week ahead! Cannot believe August is almost over …7 -
@NikMar
I get most of my protein from cottage cheese and yogurt. The cottage cheese I eat has 14 grams of protein for only 80 calories. It's Nancy's low fat.
Also Boars head Ovengold turkey from the deli. 13 grams for 2 oz which is only 60 calories.
I snack on that to keep the hungries away.7 -

Despite all the hiking my daughter and I did while in Washington, I was resigned to the fact that I would probably gain during the trip. Eating restaurant food once or twice per day for 8 days pretty much made a gain inevitable for me.
It was definitely worth the trip, the scenery was breathtaking and we had a wonderful time.
And the 1.3 lb gain wasn't as much as I feared it would be. This morning I was thrilled when I stepped on the scale to discover that I was back to my pre-vacation weight.
A sample of the pics I took on Mt Rainier. We also visited Seattle, Tacoma, Olympic National Park, Cape Flattery, Hoh Rainforest, Ruby Beach, La Push, and Ocean Shores.

I had a good week. I tracked every day and managed my calories. I walked 5 times instead of 3. It's a small walk but I'm feeling progress. My clothes don't feel as "tight" as they did before.
My goal is to walk 6 times this week. Track all food. If I can do that I'll be down 4 pounds for this challenge. Totally do-able.7 -

I'm not sure why I gained a few pounds; I feel like I'm eating the same. I think I should go back to tracking. That always is an eye-opener.
I am enjoying my yoga class (once a week). I would like to go twice a week, but I am going to stick to one a week for September.
I have not walked outside daily. I think that would be so helpful emotionally and physically. I get plenty of steps at work (8,000 per day at work), but it is not the same.
I joined a physical therapy course through my insurance company. It's a 10 min. exercise program designed by a Physical therapist targeting one area of your body.. I got a specialize 10 min. program for my knees (I picked part of my body that sometimes hurts); I put on these sensors and straps around my thighs, shins and chest. I think it measures how strenuous the "workout" is. It gives you a rating after each exercise. It relays your workout to your therapist. The kit came with these sensors, straps, and a video monitor with a prerecording exercise program. It can't hurt. I'll move 10 min. more doing targeted exercises. It's hard to explain in words what this is... quite honestly, I didn't know what I was getting into.

@GinLee61 I was always a "beach" girl. Loved the ocean and beach until I saw the mountains!!!! Wow- your photos remind me of my one and only trip to the mountains at Jackson Hole, WY. I will forever love the mountains. I need to go there again. I'm happy you had a good time!6

@faurotann thanks for the suggestions. I've been looking into high protein yoghurt, and I'll go for cottage cheese next. Turkey also sounds good. I don't recognise the brands you mention, but I'll look out for something similar!!6 -

08/13-190.6-(Trend Weight: 189.8)-
08/20-189.4-(Trend Weight: 190.9)- I made homemade jalepeno poppers last night for dinner at 9:30 pm. They were so rich with the cream cheese that I couldn’t snack later except for a square of 70% dark chocolate hours later. I ate the number of poppers that I usually do, but it seemed too much this time. Next time I will make less, so I call that a NSV. I stayed within all my macros. I released a lot of water too, but why does it have to happen in the middle of the night? Sleep was still more hours than usual even though constantly disrupted. I’m feeling hopeful today after this scale drop. I also feel like I know where I really am on the scale without the bloat in my ankles. I woke up 30 minutes before my alarm and used the extra time to do a youtube video workout. Yay me when I do the right things!
08/27-191.0-(Trend Weight: 190.8)- I’ve had 3 days of travel and a birthday party in the last week and it shows. I’m actually working the weight back down now, it did go higher. I’m still struggling with the Quantity of my snacks although the choices are actually pretty good. My meals have been on target except for the travel/restraint/occasion days. I have my work cut out for me as I struggle to get back into the 180’s.

Thank you, @RubyRed427 !
I'm Chris - 74 year old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion...
...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
My husband and I are retired, however...we watch our Grandsons during the week. Collin is 18 months and is our Morning Duty. Ronan is in 2nd Grade and is our Afternoon Duty.
I see my trainer for 60 mins three days a week and try to walk the other four days. The walking doesn't always work out. The boys can be exhausting...

Great. I am at week four and my clothes are feeling looser. Only about 4 lbs down. Patience. Focus on the first week and don't beat yourself up if you stumble.6 -
Welcome to our new friends! It's never too late to start! We're happy you are here.
Just came from yoga- I love my Wednesday evenings, because I go to yoga and afterwards, I feel amazing. Really transformed. I do need to add one more evening exercise... I love Pilates. But the place by me is small and only has six reformers, so there is often a waitlist.
One month nearly done ... two more months of this challenge!! Looking forward to more progress, no matter how little.
