I forgot to jump on the scale when I woke up & weighed myself after I drank water & ate a little. Oh well. Today is my 8 year olds birthday so I'm doing relaxed tracking. I will be more serious tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great day!

    January Goal- 168

    1.1.2025 173.3
    1.2.2025 172.9
    1.3.2025 172.6
1.4.2025-173.8 I am not sure this was right.. scale didn't really want to settle or lock in on any one number today.. batteries might need replaced again.

Nonetheless, I went for an InBody scan friday. The overall numbers were not as bad as I thought but I have some work to do.

Overall the person doing the scan kept commenting about for a female my age I was definitely showing more muscle mass than what she often sees (so she says) . This actually could explain the difficulties I am having with further weight drops. I don't know if she was just trying to make me feel better but she called me "sturdy and strong". Not sure what to think about the "sturdy" part of the description. Images of farm women from the 1800's keep popping into my head.. She said leg strength was very high (life long equestrian I guess does come in handy)

My BMR is 1428 so that means that is the minimum # of calories I need to stay alive and maintain my current weight at a resting state or without exercise. Visceral fat is a few points too high of middle of the road. I wish I had done this 6 months ago because I know that has reduced since starting, my waistline is an actual waistline now.

Overall its a baseline . I need to understand more of the numbers and how to adjust my calories/workouts to improve, but the main takeaway message is that I have not lost muscle mass ,which was my concern since I am on the GLP meds.

    Have a great saturday everyone

Still have some Christmas goodies kicking around. They’ll be gone in a few days. I have a loaf of banana bread that I think I’m going to stick in the freezer.

My weight has been hovering between 160-163 for the past month. Time to get the ball rolling again. I’ve been upping my protein and veg and making sure to get some exercise every day. I’ve noticed how much better I feel when I eat healthy and exercise. It’s become a big motivation to do this.😊

Howdy! I know the numbers look like I'm not trying. I've had some health stuff this week, both intestinal/hormonal, and we'll just leave it at that. I've actually done pretty well food wise. The numbers should begin to swing the other direction soon. Wait until I'm adding snow duty to the mix.

Welcome to the group @Capibara_pullup, @Melissa6107, and @obx1bag, -- it's great to have you along with us for this journey. Wishing you all the best as you work toward your individual goals. You're in the right place. Just use the thread however it best works for you.

@Michieb125 It will stablize, just give it a day or so more. You've got this.
@dannytrees1 So happy for you! Keep going!
@capewrathultra The longer I sleep, the less I weigh. If I was getting at least 8 hours of sleep a night, I think I'd also be further along -- not just the weight loss, but increase energy, and less sleepy.
@HappyDonkey75 That's interesting about the scan. I don't think I'd read the "strong and sturdy" as a negative. Especially as women, but as we all age, agility and bone density -- all that comes into play. Sounds like you're less of a fall risk to me. Take it as a compliment.
@tishsmith101 Good to see you! Happy New Year!

This week, despite it being a holiday week, was rough. I didn't really take a holiday Wednesday. I didn't even get a chance to work out until Friday. Starting with the upcoming week, I'm prioritizing the workout, and going to have to cut my workday by 5:30pm, whether I'm done or not. This isn't the way I want to step into a new year. I hope tomorrow's numbers are better. We're going to get 5-10" of snow from Sunday into Monday, so I'll be getting my workout for sure. ❄️

All of us playing catch up this week - we've got this. We're all doing the best we can. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

    Comment (01/05/25):
My 3-day weight loss streak was interrupted on Friday due to a family emergency. I was on-track to lose ~ 1 lb on Saturday, but a loved one needed to be taken to Urgent Care, and I was too tired at the end of the evening to go home and cook. Ended-up going to a Mexican restaurant that I have been wanting to try, and they welcomed me as a new customer with 2 complimentary shots of tequila. 1.6 lbs weight gain that day, but I bounced back in 1 day. Onward and downward!

I'm planning on getting more steps in as well & parking further away from my office so I have a 10 minute walk to and from my car everyday at work. Hoping & planning for a successful week ahead!! Hanging in there…..made my yummy soups yesterday and made sure I increased fruit (strawberries and tangelo) and lean protein. Ended the day watching a movie with popcorn and a sugar free fairlife protein shake. Come to think of it, I should probably stop eating after dinner or by a certain time like 8:00 p.m.
My tracker shows more walking in the last 10 days so I have to be burning more calories. :/
Back to the gym on Tuesday!

Those darn pesky hormones right? They really work against us. My doc wants me to try going on HRT but I am just not convinced I need estrogen. I do however wonder about progesterone.. I have been doing more reading.. seems like I keep going down rabbit holes.

Thanks.. I suppose that is true.. I have however taken alot of spills and falls over my life (clumsy I guess) and many times was surprised I did not break a bone.. I even had a fall with a horse where the horse stepped in a hole and we both tumbled, the horse landing on me.. I walked away with a bad contusion and soft tissue damage but nothing broken. I guess at my age sturdy is not so bad..

A drop, yay! Feeling quite bloated today though. Did spin class yesterday morning and bowling last night. Strength training on deck for lunch today. I do well with logging breakfast and snacks but have fallen short with remembering to track lunch and dinner. That is key to my getting any further drops.

Tomorrow I'm going to the AGO (Art Gallery of Ontario). It's about a 40-45 minute walk there so I'll get a walk in which is good. I've been rather sedentary. Should be a pleasant afternoon out. It will be cold but I don't mind. I'm slowly returning to my healthier lifestyle. My diet is ok. Could be better. I had a glass of wine today and a slice of banana bread. Still under my calorie goal so no worries.

138.2. I was away for a long weekend with an all inclusive buffet. I made the best choices I could and didn’t drink any alcohol. Slight uptick on the scale today which will return to below 136 in next few days
