@dawnbgethealthy What a relaxing atmosphere for the pedicure and what a lovely view! We have one salon and I'm not even sure if they give pedicures. Perhaps. But I know they give facials because I have ordered nails and facials for both my daughters slightly before they gave birth. Just to relax and spoil them a bit I guess. The salon is very tiny and the "special services" are done in the basement which is only about 600 or 700 square feet in total (just like the upstairs). Part of the basement is the laundry room and also a storage area. So the actual space to do the "services" is even smaller. Oh how nice it would be to have a lovely view!

My foodie daughter has ingrown toenail right now. I don't know if pedicure would help with that? I suppose it would be nice for us to find a place in another county or town that makes the pedicure a much better experience! Thanks for sharing the pics. Sometimes I forget how the rest of the world lives lol!

I take Magnesium Glycinate. I buy the house brands from health food stores near me.

My doctor's notes on magnesium: "400 to 800mg based on bowel tolerance." The recommended minimum of 400mg taken at bedtime seems to work for me. I sleep well. No diarrhea. My mom takes it too. It helps her with sleep and muscle cramps in her legs.

@dawnbgethealthy Nice view! Thanks for sharing. I'm looking forward to seeing mountains in August.
Based on your garden comments, I think you have the garden of my dreams. My husband & I both grew up in the Niagara region. Living in the GTA now, we've tried several different gardens and have had very little success. That coupled with the fact that we tend to camp during the summer when all the 'tending' and weeding needs to be done, does not help.

@frankwbrown Re your goals —> You have to do what works for you. These words in your post jump out at me "I've failed" and "I'm not happy" (I know not in context, but still they are in your post). You started challenge 23 on May 15th at 259.7lbs. Today, you weighed 255.1lbs. That's 4.6lbs in 6 weeks or just shy of a pound a week. Could you have done better? I don't know. Maybe you could have. But it really does not matter. What matters is what are you going to do tomorrow and the next day and the next day. We cannot control the past. We only have influence over the future. This isn't your first rodeo, so I know you already know these things. For me, personally, I prefer to focus on what I've achieved and what I can influence going forward. Will you make 220 by the end of the year? I don't know and either do you. But why does that matter? So long as you are making progress, then you are making progress and, by the way, you ARE making progress.

@plantpowered Re "I feel absolutely lousy when I don't exercise consistently". —> I'm the same. Do you exercise at home, at a gym, follow a program? I use FitOn and BOD. I'm currently doing BOD 9 Week Control Freak.

@deepwoodslady Re ingrown toenail. If it gets infected, she may need to go to a chiropodist or podiatrist. My youngest son seems to be getting one too. I cut all his nails today during our visit and let staff know to put polysporin on it every night at bed time for the next two weeks. Hopefully, they will do that and it won't get infected. Taking him to a doctor is a production.

@Crochetluvr So glad your blood sugar is stabilizing. I'd much rather take a pill than an injection too!

@bteri107 Thanks for sharing the Magnesium information.

    Re: ingrown toenails.

My Mom would get them and I would get them.

There are lots of home fixes, like a tiny piece of cotton soaked in almond oil or any oil and pushed underneath the ingrown and leave it there. It slowly lifts the nail back out. Some people swear by cutting the nail straight across. Cutting them out seems counterintuitive to me, like it encourages them to grow in the same pattern. My pedicurist is a nurse, and she does specialize in seniors. Sometimes it is just a buildup under the nail of dead stuff and getting that scraped off might help.

I get my stuff delivered from Piping Rock out of New Jersey.

Magnesium, scented oils, lip balm, vitamin C etc.

Check it out @deepwoodslady they have really good sales. No need to go to a big box store. Amazon also has just about everything with pretty quick delivery.

@age_is_just_a_number I do most of my fitness at home. I've got everything I need there, especially privacy! I'm not into gyms. I get outside for walks.

FitOn is great. I use it occasionally. Lately, I've mostily been using Apple Fitness Plus. I'm using Zwift on my spin bike. Control Freak looked hard! My favorite BOD series was Morning Meltdown 100. I did that series all the way through a couple of times, but I'm not currently subscribed to BOD. I also use Cathe Friedrich.

@bteri107 😁 re: sarcopenia. That word alone sounds scary enough, LOL.
