    More than ever, I need to focus on my health. I know what to do, I just need to work on consistency.

    Week 12

    Day 78—07/31—145.5 Tried a weighted vest for the first time on my walk with Kaya yesterday. It turned the walk into more of a workout. It had me sweating! Supposedly great for bone health, strength, endurance, and burning more calories. Woke up with some lower back pain (not sure if it’s from the vest or Pilates), but stretching helped. Planning to use it every other day for now.
    Yesterday’s workout: Core, pilates, leg extensions (for my knees), walk the dog with a weighted vest.

    Day 79—08/01—146.1 Had a couple glasses of red wine last night. Maybe that caused the spike? Oh well, just need to keep going.
    Yesterday’s workout: 20-min kettlebells, 10-min walking cardio, core & stretch.

    Day 80—08/02—145.6 Started my morning routine earlier than usual. The ac guy is arriving soon to start work on moving one of our ac units from one wall to another. Minor renovation of the downstairs area starts today.
    Yesterday’s workout: Pilates, core, walked Kaya with a weighted vest.

    Day 82—08/04—145.6 Dinner party tonight with a high sodium meal and dessert. I'll take just a sliver of dessert.

    Hi everyone.

    I am Dawn. I live in SE British Columbia Canada. I am 5'2" (or 5'3"?) and 64 years of age. I have done a bunch of these 100s now, I have lost count lol. I was sitting at 130 for quite awhile, trying desperately to get into the 120s, but gained little by little over the last couple of years. My "ideal" weight should be between 110-118 for my height, BMI, and stuff. At this point I just really want to get back into the 130s.

    Week 1 Start Weight: 144.4

    Week 1 Goal: 142.4 (seems lofty, but I was at 143.0 for two days in a row at the end of the last 100)

    Week 1 Actual Weight: 144.2- Hit 142.6 this week, the day before the end of our week, which was so close to my goal.

    Week 2 Goal: 142.4 - Trying for the same goal as last week

    Week 2 Actual Weight: 143.0 (Once in 100 days Ribs eaten, hit 142.2 this week)

    Day 78—07/31— 140.8 - missed posting, but logged as usual. Back to alcohol free for at least 5 days. I did make myself a Mojito on the 30th.

    Day 79—08/01— 140.8 - No alcohol last night, tonight will be the same. Hoping to get some dropping on the scale happening after my gains from 6 days in a row of cocktails last week. I never have more than 2 btw.

    Day 80—08/02— 140.0 - Lots to do this morning, working 11-7 today and tomorrow. Normally split shifts where I get a break to do running around. Not even trying to stop smoking today.

    Day 81—08/03— 138.8 - It has rained here, sometimes torrentially every weekend, which is awesome for me because I don't need to water my garden which is a lot, moving the sprinkler from area to area. It sucks for my friends that work Monday to Friday, but it is great for me since I am at work.

    Day 82—08/04— 139.0 - It is a holiday here. I have just a 4 hour shift at premium pay, and then have somehow finagled 2 days off in a row for this week and next. Happy dance. 46 days to try to get back down to 130lbs for my 65th birthday. Seems lofty, but I will try.

    Day 83—08/05— 138.4 - Eagerly awaiting the arborist this morning. He said Monday or Tuesday, but Monday was a holiday, so maybe that means Tuesday or Wednesday? He is coming to remove a giant out of control lilac bush which has sent suckers all over my front yard, ruining it. I have some things planted that I will dig up before he starts, and put right back in the ground when he is finished. Days off today and tomorrow😃. Lots of weeding to do after so much rain on the weekends. We didn't use to get even one drop of rain in this area from April to October. It has been a deluge every weekend. The Indian chefs that I work with call them Monsoons. Still finding things to reset after power outages.

    Day 84—08/06— 140.2 - 2 cocktails before dinner. I have really been off of my eating routine since Sunday. I ate only 1//2 cup of blueberries during the day after skipping breakfast. I did not eat my granola/ yoghurt thing.

    Last night for dinner I had a burger. I bought a 2 pack from Safeway. I had been wanting a burger since December when I started working at a place that made their own, which looked and smelled great. I can't remember the last time that I had beef, and I'm not even sure if I have had any meat at all this past month.

    My numbers were well within my realm (except for fiber because no granola), but I gained like 2 pounds yesterday somehow!

    Thoughts at the start of this round:

    My goal from the very beginning has been to lose one pound per week for a total of 12 pounds per challenge. I have never considered that to be too much and I never thought in a million years I would find it this difficult, even at my age and with my health problems. But it’s proved to be nothing but an uphill climb and in most cases, impossible. I am going to lower my goal to 10 pounds per challenge and see if that will feel more right, more do-able. This breaks down to 0.7 lbs per challenge week. I don’t think that is too much to ask of my mind, my body and my spirit! I, again, thank you for sharing my journey with me and allowing me to travel with you on yours. It is reassuring, refreshing, enlightening and inspiring and I am forever grateful.

    Day 83—08/05—185.8 ✅ (Trend Weight: 187.5) I did a bit of an experiment yesterday. I ate my largest meal for lunch and a smaller dinner since I usually have snacks later anyway. It seemed like a good idea at the time but it backfired since I stay up pretty late at night in my retirement. I won’t make that mistake again. I ended up eating an extra small meal which was better than bingeing on snack after snack (my usual choice). Two slices of peanut butter toast later (low calorie/carb bread) and a large glass of water (oh how I wanted the milk!) and I was okay. It managed to stay within macros by skipping some snacks. Still a drop on the scale today as I spent lots of time yesterday on yard work and gardening but I did skip my intentional exercise. I am now Exactly at my weekly goal with one day to go. I’m making a pork roast in the crock pot for dinner tonight with all the fixings. I’ll have to carefully watch my portions. I’ll try to stick to a light lunch and minimal snacks tonight. I’m still chasing that low of 185.0 I had recently before some weird fluctuations and my day trip which together yielded me a 3.8 lb gain. I don’t know how long this will take, but I will just keep on chasing it until it runs out of breath! First stop, however, is weekly goal. Please, Donna, don’t self-sabotage!

    ⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️Day 84—08/06—184.0 ✅ (Trend Weight: 187.1) Here’s the whoosh I was looking for, but boy did I struggle last night! Thankfully I made it through without damage or self-sabotage. Yay to no binge! I am now just slightly below my goal weight for the entire challenge but there are travels and events coming up that will likely affect it. Happy for today though!
