    Thoughts at the start of this round:

    My goal from the very beginning has been to lose one pound per week for a total of 12 pounds per challenge. I have never considered that to be too much and I never thought in a million years I would find it this difficult, even at my age and with my health problems. But it’s proved to be nothing but an uphill climb and in most cases, impossible. I am going to lower my goal to 10 pounds per challenge and see if that will feel more right, more do-able. This breaks down to 0.7 lbs per challenge week. I don’t think that is too much to ask of my mind, my body and my spirit! I, again, thank you for sharing my journey with me and allowing me to travel with you on yours. It is reassuring, refreshing, enlightening and inspiring and I am forever grateful.

    Day 93—08/15—183.8 ❌ (Trend Weight: 184.6) Dinner was out yesterday out-of-town to a very large eat-in Dairy Queen with 3 DGS’ and my son after their hair appts. I let them choose and we ended up at a place where a medium turtle Blizzard is over 1000 calories alone! Later at home, I kept dinner light but I probably inhaled about 2500 calories for the day and no formal exercise. My DD and DGS are back for the weekend. I hope she minds her manners! I REALLY REALLY need to go grocery shopping in a town with a big box store VERY VERY SOON and restock son’s food and my diet foods. That means travel and all that comes with it. UGH. I don’t mind today’s weight even though it’s up a full two pounds. I did kind of want one day of higher calories to shake it up a bit. But two higher calorie days in the same week could be disastrous! I’m going to have to put some thought into this!

    ⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️⚓️Day 94—08/16—184.8 ❌ (Trend Weight: 184.6) This is crazy that I’ve gained 3 pounds in two days. I did have the DQ 3 days ago and there has been no TMI for 2 days now. I’m sure these are both contributing but it’s always pretty shocking to see such a big jump. Especially when my calories last night were 1012 and my carbs were 61. Today I am going to the county fair that is about 75 miles each way from me. Not much to do in this small town or my county so it is a big deal to our community. I do try to get my autistic son out of the house here and there and today is the last day of the fair. We will probably eat from a food truck and play some games and just be part of the overall social event and all the fair offers. Scale-wise, it’s not the best time or the best day to be going but, if not today, then we miss out until next year. I’ll try to be sensible.

    I liked today's weigh in (second column from left.) I haven't seen that number in many months. I cut way back on sodium the past five days.

    I suspect that I might be more sensitive to sodium these days. I appropriated my husband's BP cuff. I took a reading today and I will start tracking it in my health app. Systolic was 129 today, so let's see how that trends over time. Diastolic looked good. That was just one data point, so we shall see, but I want to see how it progresses while I continue to improve my habits.

    So, I'll be working on keeping sodium much lower. The experiment begins…

    (You know I like tracking things, so YAY for the potentially useful, new data points.) 🤪

    Hi. I’m an unretired (by choice) senior from central B.C., Canada. Back for another round. After being an absolute backsliding turtle for the past ?18 months, my ultimate goal is to lose 30pounds, 20 by Christmas would be awesome.

    Day 93—08/15: 176.8 Back from a wonderful week's holiday on Pender Island last Sunday, followed by an insanely busy week. Grandson is visiting. Tough hikes (short but steep) on the island, paddled with friends on Wednesday. Did better yesterday, need to do better today.

    Day 94—08/16: 176.4 Caught up some major cleaning jobs. Leg is paining from mid thigh down to mid calf; ? not sure why. Heading out for a walk, may not help the leg but will help my outlook and focus.
