@Crochetluvr Day 85—08/07— 163.8 - After a tough week, I am back on track! The anxiety has passed for now. I had the surgery on my hand 2 days ago and the pain is practically non existent...not like last time. Food is back to normal. I did discover something the other day. I treated myself to an Italian hoagie from Jersey Mike's after the surgery and it did not spike my blood sugar! Now if I ate a cup of potatoes? Different story. Not that I plan on eating a lot of hoagies. Still its nice to know.

So glad your surgery went well and your pain is minimal.
What spikes blood sugar is different for different people. My SIL and niece (mother - daughter) both have under control diabetes but both must monitor their blood sugar. One of them can eat white rice with no demonstrable movement in blood sugar, the other white rice spikes their blood sugar through the roof. I find this very fascinating.

@dawnbgethealthy @age _is_just_a_number Do tell about your upcoming trip!

We are spending a few days in Seattle and then going on a 10 day Alaskan cruise. We booked the cruise before the US election results. I'm a little nervous about going through US immigration. I'm not at all nervous about being in the US. My husband's sister and her husband booked it last fall and asked all their friends and relatives if anyone wanted to join them. Initially we said no, then when we realized how short life can be and we decided to seize the day and go for it.

@deepwoodslady ice cream tacos! I'll have to look out for those. Sadly, ice cream doesn't agree with my stomach as much as it does my mouth. I still indulge in it once in awhile. If we find ice cream tacos while we're in the US, then we'll order them to share.

I love that you put that drink back in the fridge after logging it. That is a powerful move. You're in the long game.

Yes to the lifestyle: it's still filled with enjoyable food, and it's more satisfying over the long haul.

All my red IN days are gone from my 7 day view. Scale is being kind and I'll take it. A new low 7 day trend weight. Good day yesterday, healthy food choices, walked and exercised.

Yesterday's success: Our eldest son comes by on Thursday's. Yesterday, he was really stressed out because his computer wasn't working. My husband did some online computer comparisons and we took him shopping (he didn't buy a new computer) and then drove him home (~90min round trip). On our way home I knew I had IN calories available and kept thinking about the ice cream in the freezer; I really wanted it; but we got home, I had a nectarine, two apricots and finished the last three pieces of bok choy from dinner. It was healthier and didn't interfere with my sleep and kept me under my IN calories.

Oh, these fluctuations. Long game; eyes on the long game.

Food was good yesterday. I got my workout, but I was setting up a new phone and getting it to talk to all the tech and didn't get as much standing time.

    Hi everyone.

I am Dawn. I live in SE British Columbia Canada. I am 5'2" (or 5'3"?) and 64 years of age. I have done a bunch of these 100s now, I have lost count lol. I was sitting at 130 for quite awhile, trying desperately to get into the 120s, but gained little by little over the last couple of years. My "ideal" weight should be between 110-118 for my height, BMI, and stuff. At this point I just really want to get back into the 130s.

    Week 1 Start Weight: 144.4

Week 1 Goal: 142.4 (seems lofty, but I was at 143.0 for two days in a row at the end of the last 100)

Week 1 Actual Weight: 144.2- Hit 142.6 this week, the day before the end of our week, which was so close to my goal.

    Week 2 Start Weight: 143.2

Week 2 Goal: 142.4 - Trying for the same goal as last week

Week 2 Actual Weight: 143.0 (Once in 100 days Ribs eaten, hit 142.2 this week)

Week 3 Actual Weight: 139.6 - Hit 139.0 this week.

    Week 4 Goal: 138.0

Week 4 Actual Weight: 141.8, saw 139.0 again.

Week 5 Goal: 138.0 - trying for that again

Week 5 Actual Weight: 141.6. Hit 138.4 this week.

Week 6 Goal: 138.0 - sticking with this goal, I got very close in week 5

    Week 6 Actual Weight: 141.4

    Week 7 Start Weight: 140.2

Week 7 Goal: 138.0 - I just keep plugging that one in. I have to start somewhere for my September goal of 130.0 right?

My brother has also done 2 Alaskan cruises. One just earlier this year. He loved them both.

In the US we've camped as far west as Montana, east as Massachusetts, south as Tennessee. Last year we were at Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. It was absolutely beautiful and quiet. The park is on the Tennessee-Kentucky border. We were right on a time change line within our trailer the time would change from one end to the other. It took us a bit to realize that our phones were changing.

You are right, I am certain any kind of food can be found in the GTA. Not that I need deep fried ice cream (or deep fried anything for that matter).

@deepwoodslady 08/08—185.6 ❌ (Trend Weight: 186.7) Over on calories by 373. Does that equal 1.8 lb gain? Hmmm. Well, carbs were over too but still. Correction? Fluid build-up? Ice cream from 2 days ago showing up? Weight was not a fluke because I tried scale 3 times. Humph! Trend weight still going down so I’ll celebrate that small win today and I’ll just have to get over it.

Trend weight still going down —> That's the part that matters. The rest is just noise. It takes several days (within this thread we've debated between 7 & 10) for the food to truly process and impact the scale in a meaningful way. That is why so many of us (like you) track the trend weight.

@Crochetluvr Glad you enjoyed the mini golf. I don't remember the last time I mini golfed. Oh wait, it was a couple of years ago at a corporate event at an indoor restaurant/mini golf place.

I did a lot of walking yesterday. I walked and used public transit to get to two errands in San Francisco. As an impulse, I also hopped on the N Judah train to dip my toes into the sea at Ocean Beach, then came home. I live across the bay from San Francisco where it is easily 20 degrees hotter than in SF. 15,000 steps.
