Day 02—05/16—
Day 03—05/17—
Day 04—05/18—175.8
Day 05—05/19—176.6
Day 06—05/20— 176.2 I really splurged last night at an event. I was the only one to get two plates of food (felt shame). Success was that I didn't take anything home of the many great food items offered. How have I lost from the day before? Does it take a while to show excess eating? Exercised during the day, another success because usually if I don't exercise first thing in the morning, it doesn't happen. Thank you for this challenge! I love reading everyone's posts!
Day 07—05/21—175
Day 8 - 5/22 - 176.8 I have no idea what happened. I did eat late (8) and drank 4 glasses of water late. This is a good challenge to show me how much things can fluctuate.
Week 2 Start Weight: 176.8
Week Goal: 174.8
Day 9 - 5/23 175.8 fighting a binge all day long yesterday! I think it is because I saw that somehow I had gained 1.8 the day before and I just wanted to say the "heck with it". I'm so happy I didn't give in and it makes me feel like I am starting to have some control. I REALLY want to get in the 160's!
Day 10 - 5/24 175.8 Heavy rains the first part of the day and then bright sun for the rest. I took a nice bike ride and walked my 15 year old dog…it is more of a smell journey than a walk and has taught me a lot of patience! Spent a lot of time watching foreign movies - my fave!

Day 11 - 5/25 176.8 Time to get serious. I didn't drink enough water yesterday and with the bike ride, I may be a little dehydrated, drank 2 glasses of water first thing this morning. I have a planned walk with a friend but weather looks challenging. I decluttered 4 bags of pots and pans earlier this week, and felt such joy! Looking for more to give away today.

I don't know what today's blip is about, but I'm going to carry on. This is why I keep an average of the past 7 days. That graph looks like this, starting from day 1 of this challenge:
7 -
I was not expecting this morning's scale drop (I know daily fluctuations are normal and it will more likely than not go back up tomorrow, but there is a little part of me that is celebrating because it is a new low number for 2025). Had a really good day yesterday: exercised, walked the dog, weeded the backyard perennial garden and herb garden and took a bath. I also am very proud of myself because after dinner my husband took out 6 Reese's peanut butter cups (two each strawberry, caramel and regular) and I said, 'I only want one.' and, better than that, I only ate one. The bad part was that he ate five. The other 'bad' part of yesterday (or is it really today), is that I did not sleep well last night. I was awake from 4 until 5:30, I'm feeling really tired this morning. I finally got myself out of bed because I thought staying in bed is not setting myself up for success for the day or for tonight's sleep.

Welcome to the 100 day challenge and thank you for sharing your inspirational quote.

I think that you will have to start your post from scratch if it keeps adding spoilers like that.
I feel like we were using "rich text" in the 1980s or early 1990s when our computers were very simple. What a hair brained idea, like who came up with this idea, and who thought that it would be a good thing?

. Hi. I’m a working senior from central B.C., Canada. Back for another round. After being an absolute backsliding turtle for the past ?18 months, my Ultimate challenge goal is to lose 20lbs.
SW: 181.8 ; GW: 161 ; UGW 140

Day 10—05/24— 180.4 busy day, super tired and sore by end of shift
Day 11—05/25— 181.8 ☹ One would think that ending a full day with a 4hr evening shift (server at sr. centre) would ‘help’ with wt loss. *sigh*

My goal from the very beginning has been to lose one pound per week for a total of 12 pounds per challenge. I have never considered that to be too much and I never thought in a million years I would find it this difficult, even at my age and with my health problems. But it’s proved to be nothing but an uphill climb and in most cases, impossible. I am going to lower my goal to 10 pounds per challenge and see if that will feel more right, more do-able. I, again, thank you for sharing my journey with me and allowing me to travel with you on yours. It is reassuring, refreshing, enlightening and inspiring and I am forever grateful.

CURRENT WEEK:
Day 08—05/22—193.8 ✅ (Trend Weight – 195.2)
Day 09—05/23—193.6 ✅ (Trend Weight)-195.0) What a horrible night! My poor DGS was sick from both ends and I spent a great deal of time upstairs cleaning a lot of “accidents” up. He has been somewhat sick since last weekend which is probably where I caught it. I think the throwing up part was just due to such extreme coughing causing his gag reflex. He does do that at times. His appetite is certainly not suffering! Anyway, literally 1 hour of sleep for me then had to get up for my Contractor that’s coming today to tie up some loose ends. Who knew he would text later and say he’ll be a couple of hours late? Ugh! Very little movement on the scale when the day went according to plan. Disappointed but feel that it’s because of no sleep. Maybe tomorrow will show a bit of a bigger drop. I’d love to see another drop before the Holiday festivities inflates my numbers.
🌺🌺🌺🌺 Day 10—05/24—192.2 ✅ (Trend Weight)-194.7) Scale weight today puts me below goal for the week. However, it is an American Holiday weekend which usually means multiple days of food for various reasons from the BBQ’s to shopping and dining out. I will have to work hard so that it doesn’t escalate. It will help that my son is away in Philadelphia this weekend and staying in New Jersey to see the heavy metal concerts going on. He’s a huge Metallica fan and Metal is not my thing. Luckily my oldest and her hubby are fans and could invite him to go. I’m glad to see him getting out. Now I just have to contend with my skinny, teeny tiny little foodie daughter and DGS. I may lose a little of my progress but hopefully nothing I can’t get back to by the end of our challenge week. I woke up extra hungry today which always happens after a nice drop on the scale. Already on the defense to keep things mindful and in control. Enjoy your Saturday everyone! Stay safe!

@bteri107 Re lingering cough —> I hope you are able to kick that soon, I know it can take a toll on your body.
@plantpowered Re the decimal —> I leave them in, even for my 7 day trend. I find otherwise, it just feels like there is no progress being made. But you are right, if I'm filling in a form or talking with someone, I never say I weight 146.1, 146.5 or 146.7, I always just say 146 or 147, so why have it on my spreadsheet. Food for thought, on my next spreadsheet change.

Hi everyone.
I am Dawn. I live in SE British Columbia Canada. I am 5'2" (or 5'3"?) and 64 years of age. I have done a bunch of these 100s now, I have lost count lol. I was sitting at 130 for quite awhile, trying desperately to get into the 120s, but gained little by little over the last couple of years. My "ideal" weight should be between 110-118 for my height, BMI, and stuff. At this point I just really want to get back into the 130s.
Week 1 Start Weight: 144.4
Week 1 Goal: 142.4 (seems lofty, but I was at 143.0 for two days in a row at the end of the last 100)
Week 1 Actual Weight: 144.2- Hit 142.6 this week, the day before the end of our week, which was so close to my goal.
Day 08—05/22— 143.2 - Wednesdays and Thursdays see me running from one job to another. Just enough time to eat my 1/4 cup granola in 1/2 cup of probiotic plain yoghurt. I prepare it in the morning or the night before so that it is soft. Swipe of lipstick and off I run to the second job.
Day 09—05/23— 144.2 - Ouch! Just one job today, then my pedicure with a nurse who really gets in there to loosen up my feet. I will be home for the hockey game. Speaking of which, after the hockey game the other night a documentary came on CBC which I wasn't interested in watching so went to brush my teeth etc. There was a woman who had to give up a child in an unwed mother's home a long time ago about to finally reunite. She says: I am 70 years old, but very fit. Goals!!! I want to be that in 5 years, 70 and very fit and mobile. Weight needs to come off of course.
Day 10—05/24— 143.0 - Splits at my favourite job today and tomorrow, with a nice break in the afternoon to do some stuff in my yard/garden : - )
Day 11—05/25— 144.4 - Worked hard in the yard in the morning before work and during my 2 hour break from 3-5 - it was very hot at that time of day, 29c. Same activities will be for today, and then I booked an extra day off so I am off Monday and Tuesday and I will be out in the yard getting my tomatoes and pepper beds tilled and planted, and everything else. I am used to having a gain from this activity, hopefully it evens out by Wednesday or Thursday. Really wanting to get the back grass cut so that once my planting is started tomorrow I can hook up the sprinkler. I am on a ridiculous path of cutting each and every white dandelion head so that the seeds don't stick to the blades of my lawn mower and spread even more. There are 100s! I will overseed this year to hopefully crowd them out, but they are flying all over the neighbourhood so it feels like almost hopeless labour when I could be concentrating on many other things. All good though, fresh air and sunshine. 1pm NHL game today, and I will have it on at work : - )

@age_is_just_a_number Thanks for that. I thought about it and decided to leave the decimal for the weight average since that's how my scale displays weight. You are so right: if it didn't have that decimal, I wouldn't be able to visualize those small trends

Day 09—05/23—193.6 ✅ (Trend Weight)-195.0)
Day 10—05/24—192.2 ✅ (Trend Weight)-194.7) Scale weight today puts me below goal for the week. Stay safe!
🌺🌺🌺🌺 Day 11—05/25—193.4 ❌ - (Trend Weight: 194.6) Easy go, Easy Come. I went out-of-town shopping and practiced OMAD with lunch out in the city. Snacks last night were a little overboard in quantity. Overall I was way up there in carbs and over in calories but not too bad. I wasn’t hungry at my normal dinner time so skipping it helped. DD is working for the rest of the weekend so that may have been the big food splurge since the other kids have traveled from Michigan to Philadelphia for the mega concert (5 days trip, total). I hope so. There will be enough BBQ’s this summer. I’m still feeling a lot less bloated and much better in my clothes. I want to hang on to this feeling!

@age_is_just_a_number Ok, I think I got it now! Thanks for figuring that out. I was just reversing a spoiler under the quotation marks. Not hitting the paragraph symbol again (inside the paragraph symbol). Frustrating!

I use my computer most of the time because I find it much faster for both reading and typing. But everything should work exactly the same on the mobile app.
Try:
- opening/expanding the spoilers to see all the text in them
- highlighting all the text you do not want in the spoiler
- then you should see on the left the paragraph symbol like this:
- Click the paragraph symbol, then click the second paragraph symbol, like this:
I've done a sample below:
In edit mode two spoilers created looks like this:
Put the cursor within the spoiler, the paragraph icon changes to a spoiler icon like this:
To remove the spoiler, highlight the text within the spoiler warning area.
Click the spoiler icon on the left, then click the second paragraph icon. Then the spoiler is gone and the text is back to a regular paragraph:
*******This the text I used in the example screenshots above. **********

I just watched this YouTube video by Rebekah Matznick titled 'Your Brain Is Stopping You From Losing Weight (And How To Fix It)' (I've watched a few other of her videos, I have not purchased any of her services or products and have no affiliation with her). There is one comment about body type that I haven't found to be very consistent (I've done several of those body type quizzes and get different body types from different quizzes). But the rest of the video, I think is very on-point to the general 'vibe' we share here in the MFP community.

For some reason, I'm having difficulty copying and pasting my first week and it's getting more difficult to find my postings among the others, so I'm just posting the second week so far in this box. Happy Sunday everyone!

@lynn_w Yes! I would definitely think that working a 4 hour shift would cause weight loss. I've found that when I have a strong hike or bike ride, I retain water and actually weigh more. I read that it could be swollen muscles or a bit of dehydration. Hopefully you will see a drop soon.
@plantpowered @age_is_just_a_number I love looking at the graphs! It shows things in such a different way.
I have been in limbo for 2 years supporting my son's wife who passed in 2024, at the age of 30 and then another year of limbo for grief and my son's status with his job (the owner of his business went bankrupt). Today after speaking with him I feel more on track with my life which involves renting my house, selling my travel trailer which was only used 4 times due to DIL's illness and buying a Van for traveling. (My son and two large dogs are living with me short term, and it has helped us both.) I'm still working remotely as a recruiter to rebuild the retirement savings I used while she was so ill. I'm headed to CO this weekend to help him prepare his house for sale and without boring everyone, I'll end the story there. CO is my ultimate goal after what I hope will be a year of National Parks and working remotely while renting my house… I have a dream again. I know I've used food to survive and while I still have a lot to work through, I'm moving forward.

Oops. Too high of a fluctuation. Today is the day I get back on the wagon. Feeling motivated!
Day 09—05/23—145.9
Day 10—05/24—145.0
Did fairly well yesterday eating-wise with an emphasis on ‘fairly’. Also, hardly any sleep last night and my lower back is aching… all from this lingering, uncontrollable, dry cough. I hope to get lots done during the first half of the day so I can nap later. 😊
Day 11—05/25—144.8
Coughed less overnight so I feel like I got a better night’s sleep. Lower back still aching though. It’s worse when I cough but I feel like it’s starting to get better. Need to clean the extra bedroom as we’re having overnight guests tomorrow. Hopefully, I’ll have the energy later today for a workout.

@Pattie74 Re "I'm having difficulty copying and pasting my first week and it's getting more difficult to find my postings among the others" —> I found this as well. I tried a couple of different approaches:
- After you've posted for the day. Immediately copy and paste as a new draft post. Then for tomorrow, your draft is sitting in your drafts. The drawback of this approach is that you can only have one draft per discussion group at a time.
- Go to your profile and click Replies. It contains a list of all your MFP community replies. Then you just scroll down and find your latest 100 Day Challenge reply. Click it and it opens your reply. Then copy & paste into a new comment.
- Bookmark the discussion, each time you log into the discussion it should take you to the last post you were at. I don't find this always consistent. One thing I do when reading the posts, is open two windows, one with a draft reply and one with all the other replies and I start at the bottom and work my way up until I've reach my previous post. I put in all my comments (like this one) and then post it.
- Stop it all together and just create a new post each day. (this is what I do now). The advantage is you don't have to find your previous post. The disadvantage is, you don't get a running report within your post, so you really need to keep track of your weight and anything else you want to keep track of somewhere else. This is what I do. I've created an Excel template and saved it to my Google Drive, if you are interested in trying it out. It is read only. So, you'll need to download it.
@deepwoodslady I'm glad it worked! and I learned something new, which I love.
@363days Re your daughter-in-law —> My deepest sympathies for your loss. It is so great that you've been able to support your son during his year of firsts. I'm glad both of you are putting the pieces of you life back together and are on a on a new road. My husband and I are big campers. We are on our third trailer. We've camped with our four kids all across Canada and parts of the US. Such a great way to travel.
@bteri107 Re cough and working out —> Take it easy, cleaning the spare room may be enough exercise if you are not feeling well.
