Awesome 5K @chris_in_cal Congrats! That's a fantastic time!
Nice runs @Mari33a, @kgirlhart, @ContraryMaryMary, @tarun_yadavA, @quilteryoyo, @Laurz9191 (ice cube scarf - another running item I need to look into 😀), @WarmJellyfish, & @yirara!
Pretty sure my Garmin Run Coach gets mad at me when I ignore it's 'Rest Day' recommendations. Can't prove it but I think the next day it recommends hills for spite….
June:
01/07 - 5.00km / 3.11 miles
02/07 - 0km
03/07 - 12.56km / 7.80 miles
04/07 - 7.40km / 4.60 miles
05/07 - 0km
06/07 - 6.53km / 4.06 milesTotal = 31.50km / 19.57 miles (Goal - 161Km / 100 miles)
Had a medical procedure on Saturday and said to the Dr., "I assume it would be okay if I go for a run tomorrow?" His response was, "What?, you don't want to go for a run today?"
He regretted saying that as soon as he saw the happy look on my face and quickly said, "Please do not go for a run today! If you feel completely normal tomorrow you can go for a run. Geez, I have to stop joking with runners, you're all nuts."
He had mentioned to me much earlier that he was also a runner, so I told him he should know better😄…at least he knows I was listening to his recommendations, even the sarcastic ones.
I don't know what Dr's think normal feels like, but I figured I was close enough this morning - I was thinking to run as soon as I got up, but the humidex was making it already feel like in the 30⁰C's as I greeted the sun, so decided I might as well have coffee first as it didn't matter much to the heat I was going to feel.
It was definitely a hot one - was 30⁰C and feeling like 39⁰C with the humidity while running - I kept to the shady sides of the streets for a run that I decided to shorten as I ran it.
It still felt good to be out & running.
Even just a day when I'm told I can't… really makes me want to go out, when I know I can.7 -
7/2: 4 miles
7/3: 3 miles
7/5: 6 miles
7/6: 4 milesTotal: 17/100 miles
All treadmill runs.
Husband is going out tonight, so I squeezed in a run in during our kids' nap time, since that was the only chance I will have today. It was a pretty rough 4 miles. My legs were tired and I didn't fuel properly for the last minute change of plans. But glad I was able to get it in.

🤣Love your doctor's response @John772016 ! You did great to wait an entire day before running.

To my running family. Thank you for being here! You do not know how much I needed to just see you here every day.
My watch ended today at 12:30 PM
I had taken a moment to run and see sunrise and God gave me the message I needed. I knew once I saw it, that He was on the way to get her.
My Mom turned 85 years old on July 4th. 1940-2025

Once again - sorry for you loss @AlphaHowls hugs

@AlphaHowls you are truly an inspiration to all of us as well. I am sorry for your loss and also for the long painful watch. You mother was blessed to have such an attentive daughter who kept her at home and managed her illness. Many prayers and hugs headed your way from soggy Austin.
and just checking in that it continues to rain here. I think I am in seattle and not tx these days. It's crazy. A weather pattern that I have never seen before. My neighborhood maybe got 5-12 in of rain since early Friday depending on what gage I believe. I tend to think the one which collects the water at 6 in and I have emptied twice more than the electronic one.
@John772016 you can't keep a runner from running. 🤷♀️😎

July 1 - 4km
July 5 - 6kmTotal for July - 10km
July goal - 93km
As you can see I didn't run on Thursday. I finally got myself out on Saturday. Not my normal time on Saturday - it was in the evening after the wedding I went to in the afternoon. I just am happy I did get out the door. My bag is under my desk to go on my lunch break. I have an addiction to social media, my phone, my computer and YouTube and that ruins me in getting other things done that I need to do.

@AlphaHowls My sincerest condolences. Our thoughts are with you and your family.

@kgirlhart Our hill country house is fine. We aren't too far from the Guadalupe river/canyon lake but far enough. Also luckily situated on a bit of hill so not at risk of any flooding. We went to the hill county for the weekend and like @summerskier described, it rained non-stop Fri and sat. Got a bit more rain Sunday.
The situation in and around Kerrville and Hunt is terrible. I have seen a few times lapse videos of the river rise in various places from a trickle to breaking bank and over a bridge in less than 40 mins. Flash floods are so scary. The amount of water, how quickly it moves, and all the debris that gets caught in it makes for a brutal amount of force. My heart goes out to the families that lost folks. Unfortunately I fear the death toll will only continue to rise as it's unlikely additional survivors will be found at this point.

July total: 6 miles
YTD: 477.8 miles
7/1: 3 miles

Short run before work this Short run before work today. I didn't feel like getting out and running in the rain this weekend and I didn't bring good clothing and shoes for it because I was in a rush when I packed and wasn't paying close attention to the weather.

48 of 200k for the month. Did a shortish rolling hills trail run on sunday. I think the combination of a puffer and nsaids helps. My mileages are on Strava, under Dicte.
@AlphaHowls my sincere condolences. The light shines brightly for her.
@John772016 thats good for you on your surgery. My garmin coach makes me go for a 30min threshold run after a rest day, with my messy lungs, ugh. Oh well, I can only try.
Nice runnings! @Zaxa2021 @angf0679 @martaindale @tarun_yadavA @quilteryoyo

Good morning
@AlphaHowls So sorry you are going through this, take care of yourself.
@angf0679 Isn't that so annoying! I thought I was being productive and sprayed some dirty dishes with dawn power wash and then put them in the dishwasher. I didn't realize it would still foam so much and came home to a mess.
@quilteryoyo I miss our group so much!
I am thinking I am going to check in weekly - life is pretty mundane right now.
1 Jul - Rest Day/Tracked Cals (planned)

It was a feel like of 34C (93F) when I went for my run on my lunchbreak today. It wasn't that bad as I ran along the water front where there was shade and a breeze. I was applauded (one the way out and the way back!) by two ladies for having more power then them to run in this weather. 😂 It wasn't that bad. I've run in hotter.

I did a driveway wun after work. It was really hot out there today (91F, 32C), but since my driveway is in the shade and the humidity was low (41%), it wasn't horrible. I did see a black snake crawling across the driveway and a dead "blue" snake. I don't know if it was originally black and turned blue it the sun, or if it was really blue. Pictures below, so don't look if you don't like snakes….sorry I can't spoiler them.
How I originally found the blue snake.
I moved it to the driveway, turned in on it's stomach, and put my foot in the picture for reference.

I ran 2.92M at 13'11 out at the lake. Today's plan had five intervals mixed in.

I'm glad all is well at your Hill Country house @martaindale.
That is an unusual looking snake @quilteryoyo .

45 minute run while daughter was dancing. It just felt easy today - bliss.
I also tracked myself while mowing the lawn - over 4km walked!
6 -
possibly one of those green snakes after being dead awhile?
managed 2 miles yesterday and did not feel too badly. Amazing how much fitness we lose so fast. 😏😳🤨 but I will presevere.
I read a bunch of crazy theories on the wacko storms from over the weekend. But apparently 2 almost tropical hurricaines helped develop a stationary low midlevel. They also did some cloud seeding but no one is blaming that. Of course there is a lot of blame going around as usual after a tragedy. But I do see a lot of people coming together to help also.
Happy Tuesday and welcome to the 2nd week in July already.
Great running Alphah! Death can be freeing sometimes I think. I know when my Mom finally passed after years of dementia is was really hard but also as you describe freeing to some extent after my brother and I took care of her for 4 years as best we could
