    19.50/70 mile goal

    Posting two workouts.

I worked for 5.5 hours yesterday, got a hair cut, had a meeting with my pastor, came home, and did a driveway walk before heading to Wed night Bible study with mom. I didn't have time for any more and I didn't want to sweat much so I wouldn't have to take a shower. Even though it was 90F (32C), mission accomplished on not too much sweat.

Today, I worked 8 hours at daycare, came home, and went out for a driveway wun. I wasn't planning on doing more than 1.50 miles at a slow pace without much running, because I've just felt "off" today and didn't want to overdo. But, once I got going, it wasn't too bad…and was cooler at 86F (30C). Mile two and the next 0.3 was fast enough to call a run. For that bit the avg pace was 13:23 min/mile. The last 0.30 miles was at 11:33 min/mile.

HR zones are interesting to me. I get zero credit for walking and I set mine on fitbit pretty low. But….. I have gotten into the 190's previously when sprinting which sounds dangerous but the recovery rate was good. I think you have to look at the whole picture also. My fitbit is now giving me warnings that my mile runs are over training because it reset from earlier this year when I was averaging 7. Hahahahaha. Also at one point my tech told me my recoveries were NOT as good. Instead of droppong 30-35 in the first couple minutes it was only in the 20's I think. but when I looked harder at the data I saw that was because my avg HR for the run was a lot lowers. Instead of 150's it was 130's… duh. Anyway, I like the data but I have to go with how I feel usually or try to understand the data better.

Great running @kgirlhart . I hope you are still liking your new job.

I'm usually not thinking about my HR much, many people do though.

If it is particularly important I understand a chest ecg heart rate strap (Like Polar H10) are significantly more accurate than a watch-based optical HR…the ecg straps are considered 'accurate' and watches are approximations. It might be interesting.

Mine was a six and I moved it down to five. I'll report back if I notice any differences.

Is anyone else having issues with Strava? I just went over and thought I was liking and commenting and then realized it isn't letting me do either one tonight.

    Morning all.

    Back in England.

    Got in 5.0M at 10'53.

    @Scott6255 lovely pics!

Sorry to hear that the glacier excursion was a bit disappointing.

Is that your son and his fiancée, or your son and daughter, or daughter and her significant other?

(I have a cruise with my in-laws later this year. God help me!)

@quilteryoyo glad to hear your mother's eyesight is good!

Anyone seen or heard from @daria0919 ? Hope all ok

Glad you made it home safe and sound @tarun_yadavA . Great run. I have not heard from @daria0919 . I just looked on Strava and she hasn't had any activity in 4 weeks. 😯 I hope she is okay too.

Well I am guessing looking at the radar that today will be a rest day but I am going to sneak a rainy mile in this morning to keep the streak up. I have been trying to add a little walking the past few days as well and I am really surprised at how important what shoe I wear is turning out to be for this injury. It was SO humid and hot yesterday morning that my HR was very elevated during my run - I was surprised at one point to look down and see 190 (yes with my chest strap) alth my fitbit had 175 I think. ANyway I did not FEEL like i was about to die so I just backed off a little for the sake of sanity. Its not the first time it has gotten that high but VO2max fitness told me I suck still.

@quilteryoyo I don't think I am an auction kind of person. I think if i wanted something it would drive me crazy having to "bid" on it.

@tarun_yadavA have you ever thought about just enjoying the guy's company without over doing it to the point you feel nasty? I feel like I might have said this before.

@Scott6255 I hope you feel better soon. Enjoyed those cruise photos a Lot!

@martaindale looks like we are getting more rain again today esp in the hill country. Pretty interesting July for Tx. I agree it is not as horrific as it has been in the past in the 100's but the humidity is rough. Good opportunity to pull weeds tho. Great long run!

@AlphaHowls hng in there. Grief is difficult. I did not realize you had been your Mom's primary caretaker for that long. WOW. that is love for sure. 😍😍 How difficult to watch her decline these past few years. Well not difficult but UNBEARABLE I guess. 🥹
