    I did get on the spin bike for 30 minutes yesterday. I also went for a walk and added some mobility and flexibility movements. I also hit my food goals. Busy day ahead today!

    I am Dawn. I turned 65 this round. I have changed my eating habits over time. I basically eat half of the amount that I used to, and have limited eating Ribs to once every 3 months instead of once per week. I eat everything, just less of it and/or less often. I topped out at 207, at 5'2" that is not healthy at all! I joined MFP at 198lbs. Ultimate health goal for my arthritic feet is 110-118.

    Day 72—11/02 — 136.0 - Classical Music hour on CBC radio, every Sunday morning. It was weird to see it almost light out when I got up, it has been dark for an hour until the time change last night. I have about 30 of the fun size Halloween chocolates. I had one yesterday, I may have one with my lunch during my split break today.

    Good Sunday Morning!

    Day 72—11/01— 160.2 - Its been a couple hectic days. My daughter had planned to do Halloween at her apartment....her street does it up big. My ex doesn't do Halloween anymore so I volunteered to do a Halloween at his house. Drove my D to the store for candy then she wanted a pumpkin to carve....LOL! Luckily, the hardware store still had some decent ones left, so I stopped and got one. Helped her carve it....came out good. I had tea lights so we could put a real candle in it. Then I got out my ex's old Halloween decorations and put them out. We didn't get a lot of kids....the neighborhood has changed some over the years. I ended up bringing some candy home, which I will eat sparingly and use the m&m's for Christmas cookies.

    Then today she wanted to go to the animal shelter to adopt a cat. So I picked her up and drove her over. She found a very friendly orange tabby named Rupert and decided to get him. She has to wait though...he has URI (common for shelter animals) and has 2 more days on meds and then needs to be re-evaluated by the vet. She will call on Monday and see if he is ready to be released.

    I will be happy if I can just maintain my weight for now....but I am still trying to get permanently down into those 150s.

    Day 73—11/02— 160.2 - Had a couple scrambled eggs for breakfast. Not sure about lunch....might be a tuna sandwich. Soup for dinner? Maybe. Going to relax and watch the Eagles game today...and crochet. My right leg is bothering me a bit for some reason.

    @Lilylady3k Another way to increase time is to go to 35 minutes for a week, then 40 minutes for a week, then 45 minutes.

    Thoughts at the start of this round:

    This round will be challenging as it includes the U.S. holidays of Labor Day, Halloween and Thanksgiving. All are big foodie or party and dessert type holidays in the U.S. There are also multiple birthday celebrations in my family. In addition, there will be a lot of travel which is traditional in the fall for me as I try to avoid as many icy driving trips as possible in the winter months. There will be lots of doctor appointments away from home as well as Christmas and gift-giving shopping in this round. I will have to make sure I stay on top of my plan in every moment I can and to make the necessary corrections every time the scale goes up. We can’t control the ingredients in restaurant food so portion control will be key when away from home. I will again aim for a 10 pound loss this round. Thanks for sharing your journey with me and allowing me to share mine. I am grateful for you all.

    Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

    Day 71—11/01—183.0 ✅ (Trend Weight: 184.1) Below is my Trend Weight graph for the past 6 months. I did really well starting around my birthday (May 10th) through summer. Then in September and throughout Autumn I have really become stagnant and fizzled out. No big permanent gains, just kind of like a firecracker that turned out to be a dud. It’s time to pick up some steam again, some sparkle. With the holidays directly in front of us, it won’t be easy but I’m going to give it the old college try and do my best to navigate it. I won’t settle for just “not gaining” during the holidays. The losses need to pick back up and push their way through. I never know what tomorrow brings, but today I feel ready! New Month, Fresh Start!

    CURRENT WEEK:

    🦃🦃🦃🦃 Day 72—11/02—183.0 ↔️ (Trend Weight – 184.1) Another hefty goal this week due to catch-up. However, it is smaller than last week after making weekly goal of 0.7 and then losing an extra pound (0.9) on the back-log. Not as much as I’d hoped, for sure, but with Halloween (candy) and a few other fumbles including a restaurant evening, it is still a step in the right direction. This week I travel for my dermatologist appointment mid-state who treats me for the hair loss issues I’ve suffered from the Chemo when I had cancer. That is on Tuesday. She put me on men’s Minoxidil and this is a routine check-up. Wednesday is a hair cut which is local so I will eat at home. I can’t wait for the day when I can color, body perm if I wish, and layer my hair (when it’s hopefully thicker). Until then, it just a trim. I made a lousy choice for dinner last night. Just because it fits into my calorie goal doesn’t mean it conducive to weight loss. I must remember that the wrong ACTUAL food choices (carbs, starches) that raise my blood sugars physically and scientifically trigger extreme hunger and extreme cravings as my body tries to “fix” things. I managed to get through it (this time) but things would be much easier if I would just stick to approved foods. It’s just so hard to stay away from certain things common and approved for other non-diabetic people. A sandwich without bread just isn’t filling! And sometimes I’m hyper-focused on heart health (saturated fat etc) and miss the big picture in my diabetes planning. Weight remained steady today but I must stay focused.

    Lilylady3k You're right. 45 min on the bike is MUCH longer than 30 min. The way I get thru it is by splitting up the time. I do a 30 min high intensity class, then a 15 min low impact class. Otherwise, the time just drags on and it's all I think about until times up.
