    I'm low maintenance. Don't even own a hair dryer. Men love it. Plus, low expectations means they're beyond thrilled when I do something simple like wear a dress. It's easier on everyone.

    I am looooow maintenance, but I do make the effort to look nice for my fiance. In fact when we were first dating he used to come to my house every night and I would be in my pjamas (id been at work all day!) no make up and no amazing hair. At least that way he fell in love with me and not the pretty, made up, coiffed to perfection idea of me.

    Rarely, do I wear makeup and not much at that. My hair hasn't had a curling iron or rollers in it for years - air dry or blow dry and no styling - learned to embrace my natural waves. I'm not much on bling or being prissy, girlie either = annoying. I do or can do all of the chores in and out of the house - mow the lawn, maintain equipment, clean, cook - mostly from scratch .......................... Why do I even need a man???? Ohhhh yaaaa! Now I remember :blushing:

    "Her makeup enhances her features but it still looks really natural. Plus, her shiny lips makes me want to kiss her." —Kevin, 28

    This look required a wardrobe stylist, a hair stylist, and a makeup stylist. She has plenty of makeup on and product and dye in her hair. If this is what men consider natural then I just don't put a lot of faith into the popular male opinion of what is low maintenance.
    I repeat, again, I rarely wear makeup, When I do, it's no more than mascara and a little blush. My hair is always natural. Men are perfectly happy with my look.

    In these polls, are there any examples of women who aren't wearing makeup to make it more fair?

    I don't think I am high maintenance at all... I can be ready in the morning in 15 minutes.... but there are little things that take up life time (shaving legs, the mani-pedi, eyebrow wax, hair cut every two to three months)... but that's maybe 2 hours a month... I don't feel that that is high mainenance.. just maintenance... With a good quality hair cut and eyebrows... I find I look effortlessly beautiful.

    Does it require effort and its not for something important? If yes is the answer to either of these then Eff that shyt I'm hopping in a shower and going. I will dress up for work when I have important meetings or events to go to.
    The first date with my boyfriend, was just after a workout at the gym. I was starving and craving sushi, jumped out of the shower threw on a shirt and jeans and away we went.

    Yes, definitely LM.

    I've given this a lot of thought recently and my idea of what to look for:

    1. Sensible shoes (no pointy-toed, 4 inch stilettos)
    2. Natural hair color (I don't care if it is brown or blonde or red or grey, as long as that is what occurs naturally)
    3. Minimal piercings (one pair of earrings is enough)
    4. No ink
    5. You don't need 16 bottles of cleaning products to take a shower.

    I want someone who is comfortable with their self.

    Indeed. Either a woman wearing a garbage bag or one who gets 900 dollar pedicures. In between is NOT POSSIBLE.

    On my second date with my now husband I wore no makeup, a sweatshirt twice my normal size and yoga pants. I wanted him to see what I would probably look like the rest of the time he sees me lol. I have dated/met some guys who like high maintenance and I don't get it to be honest with you. They like the constant high heels, makeup and hair done every single time. which is weird that they even thought to date me.

    I would say most men like mid maintainence if there ever is a thing. They got dolled up once in awhile and if the occasion calls for it...and does whatever she feels... I would say that's where I'm at because there are odd times where my husband will have to wait a WHOLE THIRTY minutes because i want my face to look fancy :) most times it's my bare face and my hair is in a bun. only thing i'm high maintenance i insist on is hygiene... :happy:

    I'm pretty low maintenance. I hope my hubby likes little makeup, ponytails and yoga pants lol
    I do flat iron my hair and I clean up well so he has the best of both worlds and I don't frighten him in the morning because I wake up looking like a tired version of what I looked like the night before LOL.

    Exactly. I met my husband when I wasn't wearing any make-up. It was awesome. Now I "look" nice from a 5 minute make up routine.

    My husband says he likes me best without makeup, however every time I get made up to go out for the evening he always says how hot I look. I also dated a guy who said I wasn't high maintenance enough yet this same guy saw me at the beach with no makeup, my hair a mess, and in beach bum clothes and said I looked super hot.

    Yes, I certainly want a low maintenance woman. It's not all about "being pretty enough to not put on makeup".

    My most recent girlfriend was high maintenance. She spent 5 nights a week at my place, but it wasn't enough for her. She was upset that she only gets to see me at night - but I work 9-5, and she worked noon - 9. I'm not sure when else she expected to see me.

    She was upset because I didn't stay the night at her place more than a few times, despite the fact she lives with her mom and I live alone.

    She was upset that I have a really good job that would provide more than enough income to support her and children in a pricey market if she chose to be a stay at home mom - because sometimes I had to answer the phone at 10pm when we were together, or even on a weekend god forbid.

    She wanted to move in with me after 7 months and I wasn't ready. If we were texting and I told her I was busy, she'd phone me several times, text me, and facebook me because she had a "really important" (ie nonsense) question.

    My best friend is a woman, and sometimes she phones me to get some people to go to a bar to watch a hockey game while my GF was at work. "But why does Monique want to hang out with you? Does she have no other friends?"

    Sure she does, but I'm ****ing awesome, who wouldn't want to hang out with me?

    And because she was too high maintenance, Sadly, I had to end the relationship with a woman who otherwise I really loved because I just couldn't deal with silly little things she couldn't let go....

    I don't feel I'm high maintenance, but I love to feel pretty. I almost always wear makeup some days lighter than others.

    I've never had my nails professionally done. I have not had my hair professionally done in about 3 or 4 years.

    I guess the meaning of low maintenance could take on different meanings to different people.

    I think many hit on the main point, here and that is the definition of "high maintenance"? I am the sole-bread winner in my family (for the moment), so my husband doesn't buy me anything (at least right now). But that's not what I want (or need). My husband provides me all the support I need for anything I do. I joke I'm "high maintenance" when I seek affection from him, which is daily but he doesn't mind. He likes that. I reciprocate (I think and hope) in kind with things he likes.

    I know that I don't HAVE to spend time putting on makeup or dressing up, but when I do, his eyes go wide with approval and that special "something else" in his eyes that only two people in love can share intimately. *grin* So I know he appreciates when I do take the time to "put my face on." But I never starve for his love. I get a daily dose of it routinely, whether I'm made-up or not.

    I'm blessed. Both my husband and I agree, that he's completely spoiled me for "any other man" should my husband leave this life before me. Indeed he has spoiled me! I'm convinced there's not another man out there that can love me like he does. He's amazing. :heart:
