Just feeling better overall. My hubby has been really supportive this time and has realized that the last couple times I had tried to get healthier/lose weight he was sabotaging me with using mass amounts of butter and cheese in every meal he cooked ;)

I've been away from MFP for awhile and really realized how helpful this tool is in keeping me on track! Excited to get back at it. I'm thankful that my husband is on this journey with me. We are shifting our paradigm to date nights of cooking together at home and taking walks/going to the gym.

Just for fun: What are you most thankful for in your journey to health? My new found love of exercise! Turns out I actually enjoy exercising which I never thought possible! I love the sense of accomplishment when I improve on a time or run a bit further, and also I enjoy that hour every day that's just for me!
I did one of these before and I didn't hit goal - I really really want to lose 5lbs in November though so fingers crossed!!!!

What are you most thankful for in your journey to health?
I'm thankful to have the time and resources to exercise and eat healthy, and that I have the support of my family and of course, my pals at MFP.

Aesila: I lost almost 8 lbs during October. My advice is to eat healthy (lean proteins, veggies, fruit, nonfat dairy, lentils, beans and brown rice) and to never be hungry. Make many small meals during the day (I do 4 or 5). Plan your snacks in advance (the day before) and make them super healthy (I often have a small cup of Greek yogurt and raspberries for my PM snack). Drink a lot of water, tea, decaf coffee, and dump all the sugar and creamer. Be very mindful of what you drink (a soda or even a fruit juice can set you back; drink cold water, unsweetened iced tea or eat the whole fruit instead). Walk, walk, walk everywhere, whenever you can, even if you can't get a proper workout. Good luck!

That as long as you make consistent slow steps, a step becomes a stride and a stride becomes a run. Before you know it, you're sprinting towards your goal! Planning out ahead and being committed makes me look forward to each day and I feel like I have control over my life. My problem in life has always been consistency and commitment, to push through the tough times. Losing weight has and is still teaching me that it's not as difficult or arduous as I imagine it to be! As long as you are consistent, put in the effort and take responsibility for each day, you will eventually reach your goal. Like how I lost inches and weight despite not feeling that I did that much after all! The only thing I did different was actually change into my gym clothes and walk to the gym three times a week and log what I ate for a month. Strangely the journey of losing weight might be teaching me the greatest life lesson I've ver had. Hahaha!
