I wouldn't say feminism as a whole is a hate movement but there are definitely radical feminists that use it as such, the same way pretty much any group has them.

brings us full circle- men screaming 'we aren't all pigs when we say something to a woman' (nice or otherwise).
No No you aren't- we know this.

Much like everyone who says feminist isn't a female femme nazi.

there are extreme's in ever culture- every society and every movement.

There are certainly enough cultures where women are punished and doomed for being women from birth- that I still think the need for the 'movement' is there. Although I wouldn't call it a movement necessarily- more an idealogy of how people should be treating each other.

Feminism is a hate movement, if you don't see it you're just naive. Why don't we look at the dictionary definition though. LOL

Mangina is generally a man who hates his own gender as he has internalized feminist anti-male propaganda (misandry), and has vagina envy. Two notable manginas are Michael Kimmel and Jackson Katz.

wow you are so far out of here it isn't even funny.

Being a feminist isn't even about being a man or a woman- Feminists can be MEN or WOMEN.

Of course feminists can be men. Some of the most rabid feminists i know are men like David Futerelle, Jackson Katz, Michal Kimmel, and the manginas here.

OH NOES_ trying to do something to better our culture and civilization by recognizing that women are important members of society!!!
    HOW DARE THEY!

Is that what it means? lol. I know many females who are anti-feminist too such as Karen Straughan, she is one of the most intelligent people I've ever met, and i just wonder why women like her are not feminists when it means such a virtuous thing. lol

you don't know what you're talking about.

that's because I'm confused.. I'm outside the kitchen in a work place- I have no idea what's going on- I"m just lost without the bacon and tomatoes!!!!

I do feel that feminism isn't necessarily needed anymore as everyone, at least in the US, has equal rights no matter their race of gender. I do feel that a different movement, meant for everyone, would be useful to get rid of the smaller race and gender issues on a case to case basis. Meaning that there is no huge change that needs to be made, but I'm sure there are some companies that have issues with different races or genders that a movement could help fix.
Also, just because there is a lot of equality doesn't mean we can't do better. There are still civil rights issues around in this country because of race. Working for racial equality is not already irrelevant. It just needs to be focused and targeted. I spend most of my time being busy being equal with men, so I don't waste a whole lot of time on this feminism thing. But when there's a bad apple that needs to be dealt with, I'm on top of it. That doesn't make me shrill or hysterical or overreacting. It just means when something is wrong, I call it out appropriately.

Oh definitely there's places that need a legit change when it comes to women's rights. My post was focused towards the US.

But you missed the point. Men take parental leave too. That's all I'm saying.

my co-worker took something stupid like 2 months off- Family Leave Act.

    it absolutely happens.

I took paternity leave as a guy except for men we basically have to use all our vacation and sick days to pull it off as there is no legislation for fathers. Some companies have wised up and given fathers parental leave but not many. I honestly think this should be changed. I think that society as a whole would be a much different place if we enabled men to do the things that women ***** about them not doing (ie being there for their children).

Anyways, most stressful, lack of sleep, zombie like and amazing long vacation I ever had. So much happens during those first few weeks and it sucks as most guys are forced to miss it. But this is completely off topic so I'll stop.

So yeah some of us do take it but its not the same.

The ERA would force women into combat, into selective service, and affirmative action programs for women along with other female only finances like the offices of women's health may be eliminated with the ERA. Not sure feminists want that.

Why do men die earlier than women? Because they're too stupid to know that the kitchen is a safer place than a coal mine.

A lot of countries do have it. And there are plenty of jobs where women don't get any paid time off, just like the men don't here. The solution is not to say that women have it fine, but to make it better for the men too. A rising tide lifts all boats!

Did you read my entire post? I know there's still some issues, but they aren't large enough for each one to have a separate group and still get things done. I was talking about having a group that was focused on getting rid of these issues as a whole instead of women working towards what they want, blacks working towards their problems, hispanics towards their own. Know what I'm saying? As a larger group there would be more progress an everyone could get behind it easier. I would totally back a group like this, I'd never consider calling myself a feminist.

It has nothing to do with sexism, but the feminist perspective on what a mangina is not only retarded, but humorous.

Not that anything you say has any merit to begin with, but when you casually sprinkle in the word "retarded," absolutely NO ONE is going to listen to a word you are saying.

I'm pretty sure my balls are bigger than his- so I'll take my perspective on mangina over his.

1 in 4? like it's a joke- that's 25% of the population of women- that's a lot of fricking women.

I'm not actually sure about the numbers of women who report rape, but I bet just in our small little MFP community if we asked women if they had ever been sexually assaulted we would find numbers very similar if not higher.

I can understand why OP felt scared this is a very real feeling many of us have felt in our lives, and some of us werent so lucky to escape into our apartments.

PS-I am excluding men in my statement, but I know sexual assault is a very real thing to men, and it is just as life altering.

Men can be in America with the selective service system where women are excluded.

But our experiences don't matter, because "they didn't mean it 'that way'".

Ahhhh married 21 years.......that it explains a lot about your posts. You havent been out in the real world in quite some time. Men and women are on more equal footing sexually these days. People are getting married later in life after actually living it some.

We ALL like to be told we are pretty, sexy and desired...including men. If your man isnt doing that... Im sorry.

I read your first post and thought to myself "I like her."

Then I read this post and have come to the conclusion that I really, really like you.

Congress would have to reinstate the draft in order for that to happen. Maybe you should check your facts before you start spouting nonsense.
