I'm losing it. I've got the Lumberjack song stuck in my head.0

I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK
I sleep all night and I work all day.
I cut down trees, I eat my lunch
I go to the lavatory.
On Wednesdays I go shopping and have buttered scones for tea
I cut down trees, I skip and jump
I like to press wild flowers.
I put on women's clothing and hang around in bars.
I cut down trees, I wear high heels
Suspendies and a bra.
I wish I'd been a girlie, just like my dear pappa.

One of the advantages to getting older is that a Life Sentence becomes shorter.0

Several years ago, my fiance and I were home on Superbowl Sunday...and there was nothing to watch on tv because neither of us are football fans. We've never had cable or anything...so we were limited to about 4-5 channels. Of course none of the other big networks had anything on because, duh, everyone is watching the Superbowl. We end up finding a show on PBS (which to this day we still watch 90% of the time!) about these little old black ladies in Gee's Bend, a little section of Alabama, that made quilts. These quilts are culturally important because of the origins from Africa, changes during times of slavery, etc. They are on display in museums. It was a really cool show. The funny part...my fiance goes back to work with his blue-collar co-workers and they ask if he watched the Superbowl, knowing he isn't a sports fan. He told them what we watched and they thought is was hilarious we, especially HE, sat around and watched old ladies talk about quilts instead of watching the Superbowl!
I'm a bigger sports fan than him. I LOVE ice hockey and we have a local semi-pro team but he HATES going. I grew up playing softball so I don't mind watching baseball. For some reason we both can watch golf and of course fishing and bowling but those aren't quite the same. And the Olympics...but also, different. My kid starts soccer at the end of the month so that will be fun to watch her!0 -
I used to watch baseball with my parents when I was a kid. (my family is from KC so we followed the Royals), but I haven't kept up with it as an adult. I honestly don't watch much actual TV. But when I found out that the 8th season of Dr Who will finally be on Netflix next weekend, I was slightly excited.0

And by slightly excited, I mean I was doing cartwheels internally.0

In other news, I have to get my driver's license renewed 1st thing when I get off work. But at least I can get a new picture and it won't be my old fat face!0
-
LOL. There are some benefits to waiting in line for a new photo.0
-
I can't wait for my new DL pic! I got a letter in the mail saying I could just renew it with the old pic and I was like HELL no! I weigh quite a bit less and my last pic was in my pre-pinup days! Brown hair, no lipstick. I'll gladly go in for a new one. However, I hear they don't let you smile anymore and I don't think they will let me *kitten* my head to get my best angle like I do when I'm selfie-ing...0
-
omg. It blocked *kitten*. Sounds like clock, but no "L". Hilarious.0
-
Maybe you'll have to use tilt instead.0
-
I much prefer to use *kitten*.0
-
Clearly MFP is a *kitten* blocker.0

Just lost a dog to Auto Immune Thrombocytopenia. (ITP). The immune system was attacking the platelets making it difficult for the dog to clot. He bled out internally. I couldn't get the immune system under control. He was such a wonderful dog too. I hate it when I lose the good ones. I need some ice cream and to play Banjo Tooie with my son.0

Yes. Do this. I will be going for a run with my dog Tessa when I get off in about 2 hours. Because I totally ate the Ultimate Cheeseburger that was offered to me. That was 860 calories I did NOT need....*sigh*0 -
You were carb loading for the run you're about to do.0

I just realized my kid starts kindergarten in TWO days and I haven't even registered her yet! Fudge! (I knew they'd sensor what I'm really sayin'). I assumed it was at the end of August! She needs an eye exam (thank goodness she just went to the dentist the other day), needs physical records printed, school supplies...
And crappy parent award goes to......me. And my fiance. What if I wouldn't have checked TODAY? Fudge! FUDGE!0 -
Wow! Good catch. At least you didn't realize it when you saw the bus going past the house.0
