No exercise on the schedule for me today. I have my 1 hour GGT test and it recommends online to not exercise 14 hours before so I'm doing 24. LOL. I don't even want it coming back borderline like last time and make me do the stupid 3 hour test. Plus I'm fasting for 12 hours again and taking it low on the carbs today.

Well I think my appt is tomorrow. I actually have to call at 8 when they open cause I don't remember. Pregnancy brain has been aweful with this one.

After what I ate yesterday for lunch, I made a big pot of red beans and rice for dinner, yum, but boy my husband was ready to make me sleep on the couch last night:blushing: glad he loves me:smooched:

I tried to put my .5 mile in last night on Dailymile but it wasn't working right.

You need to change your signature to show your little man at 15 miles! Just go into your signature and where it says 0 put 15...I figured out you can change all the stats in your signature thing instead of going to that website. it only goes in 5 mile increments though...Just FYI. ;)

It is COLD. I am about to go down and do my walking in the basement today. My back is still sore so I am not sure what will happen, but usually it makes my back feel better. This snow and ice can leave now. But they are saying it won't get above freezing before Friday so....ARGHHHH

I put my kitties in the garage last night. I didn't want them to have to be out in this cold, especially after there was no visible sign of anything wrong with my OJ kitty that died the other night. I'm just so afraid he just froze to death...makes me very sad.

Lucy did go to work last night. She made it home ok. They had a short work...taped the news and let them go home, since the city closed the roads at 6 p.m. again.. They aren't opening them until 12 today either. Hubby has to go to work at 10...he drives about 30 minutes to get to work...I'm lucky I'm 5 miles away from mine!

We got off the hill and slid a little down our driveway but we got back up it no problem. It was a little slick but we made it. It was nice to just get out! The weird thing about this snow is that there isn't anything in the trees...it all hit the ground. i was looking at pictures from last year and it was really funny because on 1-7-2010 there was an ice storm. Almost 1 year exactly to the day. LOL There was also a nice snow on Feb. 12 last year...it was all in the trees and really pretty in my pictures. This wasn't like that. Very weird to see.

OK, I need to get downstairs or I'm gonna run out of time and I was lazy yesterday so I don't need to be today.

I hope you do great on your GD test today! I think your 12 hour fast was probably a good idea. And I have heard that about not exercising. Good idea to hold off for 24 hours...and it was most definitely a LEGITIMATE excuse!!! Let us know what you find out!

I was prepared to go WAY over calories yesterday. I have a ladies small group every Tuesday and we meet at Panera. I went online ahead of tme and logged what sounded good at the time: Harvest Turkey Salad. That was going to be like 600 calories. But when I got to Panera, it was so cold outside that the only thing that sounded good when I got there was hot soup. That saved a ton of calories and warmed me up! So I ended up doing not so bad yesterday. Didn't make it to the gym, though.

Today I brought some homemade potato soup for lunch. Yummy!

This really is soup weather for sure. I don't have my test until Tomorrow morning. So today I have to watch those carbs.

Sorry again about Oj kitty. It is colder than a witches tit out side I can't imagine if there was snow and ice too.

I'm trying not to be aggrevated this morning, but my sister has really pushed some buttons. It just gets to me. My DH says she is being petty and don't let it bother me. She is getting to be more and more like my SIL.

You know, I thought you said your appointment was Thursday, I just thought you might have to go in and have the Diabetes test the day before or something! LOL Pregnancy Brain is so wonderful!!!

I did my walk...I started out outside...it WAS colder than a well diggers *kitten* and a Witches Tittie! LOLOL So I went down the driveway and jogged half way back, but here is the kicker, I know I am improving because for 2 days in a row I have been able to make it up my driveway without stopping and without going back and forth to make it easier! I am getting stronger every day! This for some reason excites me! 1 hour of exercise is nothing to me now where as before if I could just get 30 minutes done I was so out of breath. I love it...I'm getting more healthy!!! I'm working on my eating. I still eat what I enjoy just try to eat a lot less of it.

Now, it's 9:30 and I have to be at work at 12...I need to get in the shower by 10. So I'm gonna play on here for a little while longer. I told Lettie I had to go to work and she said, "But I'm going to miss you so much." I love her!

    Lettie is so sweet.

Appt. this morning. I hate doing it, but I know I have too. Yuck. Nicholas said he would go with me. I'm sure he would love to miss school.

I haven't eaten since 7 pm. I figured that ought to be fasted enough by the time they draw my blood it will be 9:30 a.m.

Then I'm going downstairs to the subway to get a sandwich and going back upstairs for my doctors appt. I wish they were doing an U/S so I could see the baby but that's okay.

Katrina - Best of luck to you. Hope the times passes quickly.

    Didn't get to the gym again last night. I might actually have to start getting up early and going before work {gasp!}

I'm doing well controlling my food, though. That's BIG.

Wishing you luck today Katrina!!! Your fast is gonna be the key! And you know, it's not the end of the world if you end up having to give yourself shots. A good friend of mine had to, and she's the picture of health. Sometimes it just happens. It would also explain why the baby is so big! But I'm hoping you come through this test squeaky clean!!! :flowerforyou:

Gina, I don't go to a gym, but I PREFER to do mine in the morning before I get going. I did 45 minutes this morning of walking inside. I didn't want to but I did it because I am determined to do this! I'm also going to walk at lunch. I am going to walk at the Coliseum (Our basketball arena here on campus)...I'm going to jog as much as I can. The track is padded so it should be better on my legs there too! If I don't get but 30 minutes in that will be better than nothing!

I burned 308 calories this morning so that's a good base to go on!

Hope you both have a fantastic day! I'm so sick of this ICE and snow...it's piled up on the sides of the roads...it looks like up north! LOLOL

I work at Jacksonville State University (www.jsu.edu) I design sequences and run the electronic sign boards on campus that advertise all the stuff that goes on. I work for Television Services. Look us up. We have a beautiful campus in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains! (my title is officially a Secretary, but I haven't done secretary work in YEARS.)

OK I have tried out the app Cardio Trainer on my phone. I like it because it tracks indoor walking without having the GPS ability. I had to put in my walk stride though for accuracy. I think I will actually do a lot more walking with it. This kind of stuff motivates me beyond belief. I'm all into techno gadgets. This was just what I needed. It also gives me a little reward up at the top of my phone telling me how many calories I've burned in the week! It also has a widget I can put on my home page. I might like it.

They also have another app that goes along with it for weight loss...I'm thinking about using it. It only costs $2.99...what have I lost if it doesn't work? $3? I can handle that. I'm bound and determined to get this mess off of me. I will I will I will! There is a 7 day free trial I will use first to make sure I like it.

And since I have this new app to play with I'll probably do some more walking tonight! :) Yes, I've gone crazy!

Blood Sugar test came back fine. YAY. No 3 hour test. Iron levels were fine too. No protein in urine and no blood pressure issues. My cervix is high and closed. So we are doing great.

I have moved to now seeing her every 2 weeks:happy: Which means we are getting close.

They are going to call and schedule my c-section within a week or so of my due date. I'm hoping for around March 30th or 31st. which would only be 4-5 days before my due date. It would give me the weekend with Rick to help since he can't take off from work.

That puts me about 2 1/2 months away. As long as the baby has the same plans:laugh:

I'm going to the gym today. I was going to walk outside but it is deceptively beautiful. It is just too bitter cold for my skin out there. So I'm going to do 2 miles at the gym. I figure I need to do 50-60 miles in January 50 in FEbruary and as much as I can in March to make up for the difference I will have in April.

Working on my quilting tonight while Nicks at basketball practice.

Oh OH OH and the biggest thing of all I ONLY GAINED 2 LBS since I saw her 4 weeks ago. WOO HOO

That is during the holiday's I guess watching what I ate 75 % of the time helped.

EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT Katrina!!!! Good for you! It is so stinking cold the stuff melting off the building is freezing when it hits the sidewalks...geez LOLOL

Snow is EVERYWHERE still...I'm sick of it!

Gina, you take your height (in inches) and multiply that by .413 and that gives you your stride.

I wasn't finished...I hit reply so it was my mistake!

Anyway, you'll have to set up your settings before you use it...I was using it and it was set for 39 inches (My stride is 28 inches) and it said I was walking 5.5 mph...LOL I changed it during my walk and it reset it all to where it should have been! It was cool! It tells you every so often how far you've gone and how long it took...it also posts to facebook just like my endomondo app does. It also uses GPS if you are outside! I think I may like it alot! I also have my widget on my desktop so I can see my progress...it's very motivating!

Here is a great website that tells you how to do this.

You have to do a similar thing when setting up a pedometer.

    I joined the presidental challenge.

    www.presidentialchallenge.org

You put in your activities for the day and the time and it gives you points until you reach certain metals. Seems neat. Hope I can remember to update it daily.
  • LuRox
    LuRox Posts: 520 Member
    I joined it too!

And by the way it's presidentschallenge.org

I earned 276 points for today. It seems neat. I remember in High school I used to get the Presidential Fitness Awards. I still have my patches. I really like the T-shirt. Move it. Log it. Earn it. For $8.50...I think I will have to get me one of those!!! PALA is what I'm doing...is that what you did Kat?

I'm not feeling overly spiffy tonight, so my enthusiasm for doing more exercise went the way of my head hurting. In the morning I'll be rip roaring and ready to walk though! So I'm still motivated by that!

Now I'm off to log my food and I may go on to bed!

No I think i did the next one where you earn medals??? I'm working on the bronze which takes 50000 points to earn. EEK

I remember doing the challenge in school too. I could never meet the standards. LOL I was so out of shape back then and very unmotivated.

I'm back on my balanced carbs watch today. I did so well with the weight gain, I don't want that to change when I go back in 2 weeks.

Didn't sleep well last night, after 2 a.m. I just kept waking up every 20 mins, thinking "is it time to get up" I'm having a little anxiety about the impending baby/c-section/epidural. I know things will be fine, I'm just excited and nervous. Plus we still don't have anything set up for the baby yet.

I've tried to talk my husband into storage for his stuff until his shop is built, but he keeps saying he'll have it done. I have my doubts. I told him he has until February 1st to make significant progress or I'm storing it. Which it will take 2 weeks just to get all this stuff out of this room. Plus then we have to paint and move Nicholas into here.

I'm getting my walking out early this a.m. I'm aiming for 2 miles. Yesterday the gym was so boring I only did 1.6 and some weights. I don't know why people think it's miraculous that I am doing weight and going to the gym at 7 months. I guess I'm supposed to be eating and lounging....LOL. Well that is what I did last time. And I had 50 lbs and a terrible recovery to prove it.

I want to be as strong mentally and physically as I can with this one. I wish I would have watched what I ate early on. No going back though, only forward. I can't change the past, I can only change the present and work on a better future.

Nick has the 3 day weekend then is off 1/2 days all next week. He'll love that. My baby turns 8 next Saturday. WOW, they grow so fast.

I walked 3.8 miles this morning...I only logged 3.5 though. I'm up to 44 miles since December 29. WOW! I'm gonna have a new charm by the end of February!!! :) I'm also due to go get my first 5 lbs lost charm. I didn't realize I hit that with my last weigh in...but I did...I had lost 4.7 lbs on my first one and .5 on my next one...that's 5.12 lbs!!! YAY

Katrina, I'm PROUD of you for continuing on. People are just nut jobs and don't think before they open their mouths....you keep going until you feel like you can't ...it will help in the end...and you know it!

    I can't believe Nicholas will be 8 years old...he was just 5 wasn't he???? Man...time flies!

OK, it's time to get that baby's room going! Clean out Ricks stuff...move it yourself! Or make him think you are so HE will! LOL ;)

And also, time to get him a name. I think you know what his name will be you just aren't saying! ;P

I'm sticking with the PALA on the president's Challenge. I can only wish I was as in shape as I used to be in high school...I weighed 98 lbs and looked FANTASTIC back then....I could run a mile without stopping (but I always hyperventilated and my teacher always had a bag for me to breath into! LOL) The worst part of the Physical Fitness Test for me was the hanging from your arms with your chin above the bar thing...I had to work hard for that one! I had no arm strength! LOL I miss PE...I think we should have an hour of PE at work too. IT would be a great thing for everyone! Why can't they see that? I need to do some way backs! 1 - 2- Way BAck! LOLOL Oh the days of being in high School...now they don't even require that you have PE...stupid!

I bought a baby bed today. Nowhere to put it, but I'm telling him to bring it here instead of the my grandmother's maybe that will give him some idea about how we are running out of time.

Really we have no baby name yet. It is really getting bad. We don't even talk about them.LOL

OK, now get up and go in another room and just walk in place. DO IT! You can do that...do a few kicks and just move...for at least 30 minutes...Let's go!! Move it move it...I walked 5 miles today...you can do it!

I'm hurting today though. That 5 miles is kicking my butt! I ate over 2000 calories today and still came in under calories! LOLOL

What do YOU want to name the baby? I know you have a name you like...just start calling him that and it will be that!

I like Grady Jackson Barlow! That's a cool baseball name. Now you can take that and go with it! LOL

"You stay classy San Diego"...Yep I'm watching Anchorman! LOLOL

I saw that was on last night, but I watched Gold Rush. I just went and got in bed last night and tried to forget how yucky I was feeling.

I got my baby bed yesterday. And a new desk to move the computer out of this room. So that will be a start of getting something out of here. There is so much. AGH.

I have bb game this a.m., Then 4 hours of kids birthday parties for 2 kids Nicholas goes to school with. YUCK... I am dreading it. Plus i don't have time to workout this a.m. so I will have to make it priority this afternoon. At least it is supposed to warm up a little.

My promise to myself today is to closely monitor my carb and food intake and to walk at least 2-3 miles. I promise I will do this for myself.

    I don't have a name I'm set on. I wish I did.

I had a dream about you last night Katrina. You and Nicholas came to visit us. He was such a good boy and played and played. You were super skinny but preggo too...that was strange. You brought all this food with you and we were in this gym (like a fellowship hall) and other people that you knew were there also, and people I knew too. In another room was my room. I was sitting in my room alone while you were out with my family. I was playing with my bracelet, it was full (maybe that's forewshadowing that I'll lose all this weight and fill up my bracelet!) So it was like at my parent's house but it was that big old gym like place. It was really strange. But it was like we were best friends. :) You said you needed to get a hair cut and so did Nicholas so we sent you to my dad (he's a barber) for Nicholas, and to my neice for you...LOL

Also in that dream you had another child, so this would be your third one. Or maybe it is foreshadowing and you will have another one in 2 years!!!! :)

I remember this girl that was your friend had on a t-shirt that she had painted on and it said, 'go ahead and look, I don't care. I am a mother, a friend and a wife. I ..." cant' remember the rest but she wanted everyone to read that shirt. LOL Don't know where that came from...but the food looked yummy and it was like trick food. One thing was like a cake but you had to look under it for the "prize" but nicholas had eaten the prize, and you wouldn' t tell anybody what it was. LOL Another thing was the lemonade stand looked like one of those plastic things at restaurants that hold lemonade, but it was edible.

I can't remember any more of it...but why do I have such vivid dreams.

I slept late today. And I'm hurting...I think 5 miles was a little much for me yesterday! LOL Today may HAVE to be a rest day...even though I don't want it to be...we'll see. If I do walk today I will go outside and really walk! Supposed to be 50º today!!! Woooo Hoooo...There is STILL snow everywhere....even after it was melting yesterday...It was just running off the roofs at work...I could hear it running in the gutters.

And you know, this baby might just be one that you can't name until you actually SEE him! He'll get a name I'm sure! Oh yeah, Take a before picture of the nursery and then an after so we can see what you do!!!

    OK I'm done.

    ckmama Posts: 1,668 Member
Well the before will be Nicholas' room. LOL. What I need to do is take a before of this junk room of my husbands so you can see what Nicholas' room looks like.

We won't paint Nicholas' room for the baby as we never did paint it again for him, and it is the perfect shade of green.

But this room will have to be painted for sure.

It's been a suepr long day. I'm going to rest and get up at 4:30 to go walk. That is a very weird dream. Nicholas would eat the surpise. LOL
