That's what i wear. Well they are build in compression under the short (not long compression, littel shorter than actual shorts) and it fits perfectly.
But i would not wear leggings/thights without that in a gym
When i was still cycling, i wore them on racebike, but i never liked them0 -
I wore my running pants to lift after a run. A couple ladies stared at my junk constantly. 😂. I didn’t mind the attention1

moving around feels better with compression gear. specially if (my) body likes to store fat on the *kitten* and thigh areas 🤣🤣1 -
Compression? No thank you. I don't like the odds that my outtie would become an innie. Plus it just feels plain old weird, and not the good weird.1

I suppose it's a comfort choice with me.0

The question was asked earlier, if men can wear baggy clothes to the gym, why can't women do the same? Why do they have to wear skin tight clothing?
And a lot of people (myself included) said in essence "comfort and practicality".
So I wonder... if it is so much more comfy for women to wear form fitted clothing while lifting / running / boxing, etc... why isn't the same true for men? Is there a stigma against men wearing tight shorts / form fitting clothing in the gym?
Men: If you are a gym go-er, what do you wear, and why? If you wear compression shorts under baggy shorts, why wear the baggy shorts too?
All feedback is appreciated (including kitteh gifs)
We have more wobbly bits that need to be firmly held in by fabric to prevent painful flying about!0 -

You've been misinformed. We're all smooth like Ken dolls.

Wearing compression garments is effective in increasing blood circulation in muscle tissue, eliminating muscle soreness and fatigue. This effect does not only happen when you wear them during exercise, but it lasts till after your workouts. Wearing compression garments can also prevent or delay the onset of muscle soreness.
I don't wear them because they are form fitting, or ,heavens to betsy, my lady parts might "wobble". I wear them because its beneficial for my body. I know many males who wear compression leggings (generally runners), shorts and/or even underwear. Most of the time they will also wear baggy sweats on top of these items.2 -
Haha it was funny to see this thread resurface after 6+ years!2

A little unrelated I guess but this made me think of something I just watched where they tracked what the different genders (cis) looked at while looking at a regular picture of a man. The women focussed mostly on the face and chest while men focussed on face and junk. Hecken sus1

Why DONT more men wear tight shorts to the gym??
I mean I guess I could start just to see if there are any benefits to it?🤷♂️1 -
Sometimes we just see too much. Whatever happened to a little imagination? That's part of the seduction and mystery. If it's all 'hanging out' where's the fun in that? Especially as we/they/everyone gets older.1

Haha no, you definitely weren't the 1st person I thought of when I posted this comment but didn't think to create a specific list of exclusions.1 -

So, an "outline/bulge" in tight shorts doesnt leave enough mystery? Asking purely for clarification.
With some of the workout tops and bottoms from around the fitness world, there is very little left to the imagination anymore🤷♂️0 -

An outline or bulge makes my imagination kick in. When it's a mystery I just don't have those thoughts 🤷♀️0 -

Never tried wearing form-fitting shorts, so my only frame of reference is when I try working out in form-fitting shirts. To whit, I have a difficult time pulling said shirts into place, and even harder time removing them if I get sweaty. Also I find my shoulder and arm movements tend to be restricted when I wear something with tight sleeves which pull my arm muscles in resistance to certain arm motions. Consequently, for comfort, ease of donning/doffing, and safety of motion when lifting weights above me which could injure if dropped, I wear loose tank tops for upper body days and regular t-shirts on leg days.
If I take those observations to my lower body apparel, then I think I'll pass on form-fitting shorts. Plus the bonus point as mentioned by one poster, without pockets I have nothing to hold my ipod music. I'm too cheap to buy blue-tooth headphones, and my gym's selection of music is not conducive to heavy lifting.
Those are my reasons, all without even touching on modesty.0 -

It's a gym. I personally wear loose gym gear because I'm prefer it overall. Also it governs the woman who don't behave appropriately. I'm not "offering" myself when I'm training.2
