The Real Danger of Smoothies and Juicing

does fruit contain fructose...yes...but does it have the same effects on the body as refined sugar...NO.....our bodies and cells run on fructose...why do you think God made these fruits for us to eat? the point was bananas and refined sugars are NOT the same... and I never said that an avocado didnt have fat in it...
Pretty sure "bodies and cells" mainly run on glucose, actually.0 -
Pretty sure the trees/bushes put the fruit there, as a way to grow more trees/bushes and not for us to eat.
How are refined sugars different? How do our bodies distinguish the difference?
Do you even science?
Only a response to the bolded thought, not anything else in this quoted discussion:
Often times the trees and bushes put fruit there specifically to be eaten because that's the best way to get their seeds transported across distances that the wind would not be able to provide quite as well. This is often the case with sugar laden fruits. It's a mutualistic relationship between a plant and animal. The plant provides the animal with food and the animal provides the plant with seed transport and sometimes seed preparation (the act of going through an animals digestive tract is what activates the seed to germinate once it has been defecated out).0 -
Best. Thread. Ever.0

I probably should have read the whole thing but I saw:www.dailymail.co.uk/0

I wish a company DID pay me for this...
Fruit doesnt have any sugar in it...sugar is something that can only exist if you refine something...a banana doesnt have sugar it has a holistic nature to it...if you refine the banana you can get sugar from it...but when its a BANANA it doesnt behave like refined sugar because its a banana...they are totally unrelated...
the food industry has trained people to think about 1 nutrient in an item...cant have fruit its got too much sugar...cant have avacado its got too much fat...really? God put these fruits and vegetables on the planet to eat and give us a healthy life...so eat them and be healthy!
Aha!
I think I found the point at which this thread started heading off the rails...which would be at banana sugar that isn't really sugar because banana.0 -

This. Our bodies actually convert fructose to glucose. Carbs too. Everything that is a "sugar," regardless of the type of sugar it is, gets converted into glucose.0 -
Again, green juices do not contain calories. The nonsense is yours.
Not meaning any offense. Since when did juices of any kind not have any calories? If you throw in 10 stalks of celery, there goes 10 calories. A pound of spinach? another 30. A bunch of carrots? another 40. so about it being nonsense...... There is no such thing as no calories, they might be so small that they are negligible, but the calories are still there. Please back up your "research or knowledge" before you tackle someone else's.0 -
The only real danger is that your tastebuds can't survive flavor of that magnitude!
They're delicious.
Do you even lift, Bro?0 -

True. I just didn't go that far into the details.0 -
A youtube video of someones opinion proves to me nothing.
Living life sir you are doing it wrong.
Take your udder nonsense elsewhere.

Celery and waffles have negative calories.0 -
Do you even lift, Bro?
Yup, even getting my squat back up a little at a time. knee.dat is killin.0 -
Celery and waffles have negative calories.
Don't forget pickles.
I wonder what happens if you eat all 3 at once?
Will you just implode? Tear the space-time continuum?0 -
Celery and waffles have negative calories.
I don't know, I'm pretty negative when I eat celery, but pretty pleasant when I eat waffles.0 -

Did you actually just say the phrase fruit doesn't have sugar?
Wow.....
"Sugar" or table sugar in its most common sense is sucrose (a half and half combination of fructose and glucose).
Fruits themselves contain purely fructose, a form that has not been processed. Is it still sugar? In its most general sense, yes. So during the process of juicing of COURSE you arent intaking TABLE SUGAR, but are you still ingesting sugar, why yes.0 -
you obviously are going to continue to be an uneducated fool...who struggles with losing weight...just trying to help you out...but i guess you want your kids to grow up without a dad...0 -

Dairy is good for me, because God* made the people who did dairy farming/herding over the last 10,000 years evolve the ability to digest lactose as adults, and I'm descended from a dairy farming population. Looking at your avatar, I'd say you are too.

Celery and waffles have negative calories.
Yup, if you eat celery in its original form. (lol waffles) All that chewing and digesting. The thermic effect of food is usually 10 percent, but celery is so low calorie so you burn more. Same thing with drinking iced water. Its the process of making use of watever you just ingested that gives it the so called "negative" calories.
But in juices.....what just happened to all that chewing. All you're doing is consuming the nutrients from that celery plus liquid.0 -

Because bananas and cats obviously go together.0

I'm pretty sure celery contains more calories than it takes to digest...
...but not motivated enough to actually confirm this belief, so I could be wrong.
Really doesn't matter to me because celery is as much a food as cardboard is.0 -
Wait wait wait...so there's no sugar in fruit and no fat in avocados....because God??? Did I read that correctly?
Pretty sure science disagrees with you...0 -

The next time my husband starts going off about something stupid, I'm going to drink a whole GALLON of milk.0 -

It's basically just an edible spoon for peanut butter/cream cheese.0 -
