Just getting started again for the last time. I'm going to find my tapes, I think I have tapes, hopefully I have the dvd's. Anyway gonna find them and start tomorrow. I'm going to walk 20 miles.

You can do this! I read my profile at least a couple times a week to remind myself why I have to do this. Getting some kind of exercise in even if its alittle walk helps with the pain. It also seems to lift the mood. We are here for support don't forget that ok. :flowerforyou:

Hi all! You all seem to be doing well. It's great that you are starting up again, Viggie.

I took the baby to the store again yesterday to pick up some vegetables. Usually I add a few bursts of running (from one light pole to the next every block or so--baby LOVES it!) but I managed to take off half my toenail on Thursday so I was wearing crocs. Sure wasn't going to try running in those! Anyway, the toe is feeling better and I will be doing at least one of the videos today.

    Have a wonderful Saturday!

    Hi everyone!

Hope your toe is better soon Kathy. It's hard to walk with a sore foot.
Nemrunu I hope your better soon too. These winter bugs are yucky, thank goodness mine seems to be just about gone.

It's going to be a hard week for me (food wise) too many celebrations going on, but I'll try to keep it in check. My husband's work party is tonight and I'm looking forward to seeing our friends. I dd the 5 Fat burning miles this morning to prepare for it! I know I'll indulge a little bit.

The scales are being nice to me again and I'm down 2 more lbs. So that will be extra incentive to not go overboard this week. Maybe there is something to switching up your routine a bit. Seems like since I've been eating a little more things have started moving again.

Have a great weekend, see you all tomorrow.

    Hello Everyone,

Last night I just calculated my BMR for the first time & I'm realizing how many calories I should be eating a day If I want to Lose 2 pounds a week.
I need to deduct 500 calories off my BMR reading food intake plus exercise 500 miles a day / or I can just eat 1000 calories less & not exercise at all ;-). I wasn't eating enough calories & I was burning to much in exercise before. So I'd rather have a little more to eat plus get some exercise in , IT's better for my Health to exercise.
So my point is, ( LOL) I know a long story, SORRY! But I'm changing my SWAT mile walk challenge to 65 miles for December instead of 70 or 75 which ever I had.
Sorry again for the Long story/ But I was so excited to learn what I needed to do this RIGHT!!!
SANDRA -- GOOD WORK!! I can't wait to see 2 pounds come off too

No, No don't go! Any kind of walking will do! Outside, treadmill, use a pedometer throughout the day. It doesn't have to be Leslie Sansone stuff.

    3 miles today.

Viggie you don't need a tape to do this. Quite often I just powerwalk and do lunges, toe taps, kicks, hamstring pulls, squats, knee lifts and an assortment of arm movements as I watch the news or any other show. The TV provides the timer by the show length, I wear my HRM and I do my speed intervals while the commercials are on.

Wow Sandra 2 pounds, good for you!

Have not shoveled as much as I thought today. It is coming down by the bucketfuk right now, and blowing like crazy.

Viggie: Kathy (pmjsmom) posted these links a couple months back, but thought they might come in handy:

    Leslie Sansone Videos from youtube:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-M9fV8QYoVc&feature=PlayList&p=3276123ADD7730EE&playnext_from=PL&index=0

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XWRZcvAZys&feature=PlayList&p=3276123ADD7730EE&playnext_from=PL

But like Alice said, you don't have to have a tape.

Did the 3 mile bootcamp today. I didn't plan my meals out very well today and when I logged everything at the end of the night I'm short veggies/fruits and out of calories. Oh well, lesson learned - plan the fruits and veggies out and 2 pieces of pizza is fine 3 is overkill. :blushing:

    Good Morning :flowerforyou:

Kathy Sounds painful! Hope your toe is better!

Sandy Thanks... I'm still hacking away. Wow 2 more lbs

Teresa Using my BMR cals has worked for me, in the past ( the hard part is sticking with the allowed) MORE cals w/ exercise is the way to go!

Viggie Pedometers are lots of fun and personally challenging!!

    tracyts Pizza =

I did 4.25 miles yesterday on my bike.

Did the 5 Fat Burning Miles DVD this morning. Good thing too. Today was the day we trimmed our tree and the first day of Christmas cookie baking. And well, you have to sample to know what you baked was good right? I stuck to 2 of the peanut butter hershey kiss cookies and one of the chocolate chips. I went over on my fat, but still well within my calories overall. Of course, in addition to cookies, I also made stuffed shells - our family's traditional meal for the Christmas tree trimming day. No regrets, feel like I managed it all very well and didn't go overboard.

Brrrrrr! It's cold here in Georgia today and going to get colder. We've had snow flurries all day but no accumulation. I don't know how you folks in the colder areas stand it.

I didn't do any walking today just went grocery shoppig and recovering from the late night last night. I had lots of fun seeing our old friends and the food wasn't too bad either. Lots of good choices and the desserts were little tiny sizes so it was easy just to have a sample of a couple of things. I got lots of compliments on my weight loss so tha made me feel good too.

I bought a new Leslie dvd at wally world today. 3 fast miles. I hope it's not a repeat of one I already have, sometimes it's hard to tell since they sometimes get repackaged. I'll try it out tomorrow when I get home from work. I know I won't be walking outside this week with the low temps.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

    Hello, All.

I haven't posted yet for December (where is the time going!), but have been walking. It's great to see everyone back, and some new people joining. It's been crazy at work, and with the holidays, I'm going to bump my goal from 50 (November) to 40 - better to be realistic than to not make my goal.

Hope you all have a great week!

    Good Morning girls!

I logged in another 6.46 on my stationary bike yesterday. I think its time to start walking with Leslie again today!

Happy walking and put some strut in your stuff
  • Well got 5 miles in this morning ( really early this morning.... thanks dog) I might get more in later but we will see how angry I get today....daughter in town....has been for 2 week and I just found out, Will go over and see her and grandbaby tomorrow........... GRRRRRRRR kids

Did 3 miles with Leslie on Saturday and then the equivalent of 3 miles with Chris Freytag on Sunday!

Which reminds me--Viggie, almost all low-impact cardio workouts are types of walking workouts. 15 minutes=1 mile, on average. 15 minutes of brisk walking is 1 mile, etc. You don't need walking tapes at all!

I need to do better with my food and water--I have been messing up BIG TIME with those! Great job on losing, those of you that have! (I plan on joining you this week--I need to get back to my ticker weight!)

Leslie - If its not the kids its the pets huh! GRRRR :grumble: I feel the same way.

Well got in 3 miles today on my 4 mile WATP. I think the 40 mile goal for this month was a good choice.

I watched, Yes just watched...lol. My first Chris Freytag walking workout on the On Demand thing on TV last night. Humm might have to give it a try soon. (In the near future....next month maybe)

Got a health evaluation Friday. I shrunk an inch in height. Guess I have to adjust my info on the site. Im going to lose even more calories to eat...dang it!!
  • Well I got 3 more miles in today and I am feeling pretty good about tomorrow, Well get in some walking early so that I can see my daughter, but the best part is I get to see my granddaughter, she is 18 months old now and I will be playing with her most of the time I am there,
Praying that one day it will be alot better between my daughter and I, and that I keep my mouth shut.... LOL

Wow! Everyone is doing great! And I think it's cold everywhere. I don't remember it being this cold in GA this early in the year before.

I tried out the new DVD I got last weekend. It's the 3 Fast miles from the Walk Slim series and it is exactly what it says it is . . . FAST. It hits a fast pace right from the start and doesn't slow down until the cool down at the end. It's a very sweaty workout. The first section of music is a little annoying but the rest of the music is pretty good. I think I'll rate it a 9  I know I'll be doing it again but probably not until the weekend.

Leslie, I hope your visit goes well tomorrow.

Marie, I know your numbers will come back good and I'm sorry about the shrinking. I didn't know losing weight caused you to shrink, maybe I better check myself out! I don't think I can cut my calories any lower.

    Everybody stay warm!

I didn't get started yesterday. Had a really bad day. The cold is hurting me. I wish I could move to New Mexio where it's warm. But I would have to move my whole family. I couldn't bear living that far away from them. So I have to bear the pain:sad:

I started today. I walked one mile of my journey. You'll never get there if you don't start! Thanks for all the encouragement. Also found some good stretching video's. Thanks again.

I did a 5 mile mix that is on the Walk Club homepage--I would really like to get the videos some of them are from! Sandy--one of the miles is from the 3 Fast Miles video that you just got--I really like it!
I got some of my Christmas gifts finished and need to wrap them and send them NOW so they get there in time.
Did good on the food for the most part. Got some baking done and sampled a few cookies but then got them all into the freezer under a bag of frozen veggies!
Time to get moving! Have a good day, everyone.
