4 fast miles today. Not logging the time spent climbing the step ladder to decorate the tree! Good calf workout!

    Hello, Fellow Walkers.

I haven't been posting as often as Oct and Nov, but still walking! Although I'm on pace to make my goal, I'm dreading my weekly weigh-in tomorrow because I had three days of eating over my calorie limit this past week (YIKES!). Like Sandy, I'm glad to not have the temptations from people bringing in goodies to work anymore -- I avoided all the candy and cookies and such, but couldn't stay away from the popcorn tins. Those dastardly tins make such good gifts, but it's hard to resist the cheese and caramel corn inside. Hopefully, the walks will help balance some of the extra eating. :ohwell:

Can you help me? I'm trying to get a excercise ticker and I thought I had it but it didn't show up. Do you put it in your signiture, or do you do it where you get the ticker from MFP? I want to track my miles too!
  • well I got 2 miles in today, having a Very hard time getting motivated this week, all I want to do is curl up in bed with a hot water bottle, The cramps this month are unreal,

Viggie- go to tickerfactory.com and at the end after you have finished making your ticker it will give you a code to put in your signature, make sure you leave a space between tickers. hope this helps

Did 3 miles yesterday and 2 so far today. I hope to take a walk with the baby if the weather stays relatively dry.

I started doing yoga again this morning--Hatha yoga, nothing too vigorous just yet!--and was really surprised at how inflexible I had gotten since I stopped doing it regularly! I plan on getting some yoga in ever morning and then trying some more strenuous types in the new year. We'll see how it goes!

    HELLO!

IT WAS A VERY BUSY DAY FOR ME TRYING TO GET LAST MINUTE CHRISTMAS SHOPPING IN, I WAS ABLE TO BURN 330 CALORIES ( HAPPY TO HAVE THE pedometer ). I also did 5 miles with Leslie Sansone . I'm so happy I had the energy today, I'm sure I'll be all worn out tomorrow

I just wanted to mention to anyone trying to lose 40 pounds or more, there is a new Challenge going on starting January 1st & is ending June 1st, the deadline to join is December 28th. if your interested the name of the club is Snowflakes to Sunshine and should be on my forum, on my profile page. The goal is to lose 40 pds in 5 months. I think the goal is a little tough to keep, but at least there's a support group like this one & it keeps you accountable. I Love the idea of the two, one for Exercise & the other for weight loss. GREAT motivaters.
I hope Sandy you'll be doing this again in January, This has been a GREAT help to me & Thanks everyone for your support.
MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEARS TO ALL.

    Hi Everybody!

I'm so glad to see you all hanging in there walking. I'm still having trouble finding the time to make myself walk. I did get in the 2-mile big burn tonight but had to argue with myself all the way thru it. I don't recall a holiday ever seeming so stressfull before. It hasn't got anything to do with the exercising & eating though. I think it's just because I really don't like my job so I resent having to spend so much time there! :noway: I think one of my new year's resolutions will have to be finding a new job. The other one will be losing 10 more lbs.

Someone mentioned a January walk and if everyone wants to keep going then I"m willing. I will be here regardless and it's so much nicer having you all around for company and encouragement.

Teresa, I'm impressed! Shopping and 5 miles. That's great.

Kathy, I've never tried yoga but I think I wouldn't mind it. Maybe it would make me more relaxed.

AZ, You remember that I work for a really strange place? They don't allow popcorn! We have to sneak it in already cooked cause the boss don't like the smell of it. I'm not kidding! So I guess everyone is scared to bring in a tin of it too! lol

Leslie, Hope your feeling better soon. I used to have those problems too but they got better as I got older.

    Keep on walking everyone! :drinker:

Thanks> I'll try it this evening after I get home. I think I going to officially start tracking 1/1/11. That way I can try to walk 365 at least next year. Until then I'll keep walking just not tracking.

THE DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS! I didn't do very well yesterday with eating, I didn't think I did bad, but after logging it in it showed I went way over, I couldn't finish logging the rest :frown:

I got 3 miles in this morning with Leslie S & hopefully I can get something in tonight. I'm anxious to start my 40 lb weight loss challenge on Jan 1st. But of course I'm work at it every day, not just waiting for Jan 1st to come

HAPPY NEW YEARS TO ALL!!!!! :drinker:

I did get 1 mile in with Leslie yesterday morning and then last night my DD and I took the baby for a walk for about another mile to look at Christmas lights and just get some fresh air.

I'm feeling kind of worn out right now but I do plan on getting a walk in some time today--a total of 5 miles would be nice. Right now, though, I'm having some coffee and trying to wake up!

I hope everyone had a nice day yesterday and another one today. I will most like likely be back later.

    Hi Everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. I actually had a white Christmas, the first I can remember that was more than a flurry or two. It was a nice surprise for everyone.

I know I went way over my calories and I didn't even attempt to log it in. I enjoyed myself but it made me realize also that all the sweets and starchy things I haven't been eating really affect how I feel. It makes me all sluggish and bloated. It's over so no regrets but I'm back on the regular diet today and even got in a 5 mile WATP.

I have one more dinner to attend on Tuesday night but I'm going to do my best not to let it ruin my week.

    Happy Walking!

I just wanted to add that even though I went way over by my standards this year, it in no way compares to what my holiday eating was like in the past. :noway: Big difference there so all is not lost.

    Hi,

Sandy - Thank Goodness you have no regrets! What does WATP stand for?

Now all the left overs are gone, I can get back on track. I'm glad I was able to get some exercise in today, I woke up barely moving I was so exhausted. But luckly it passed over ; LOL. Today I was standing over the stove all day making turkey soup from left overs. That was exhausting in its self, to bad No calories burnt :ohwell:

5 more days left!!!!!!! And then were on to Januarys challenge, RIGHT ???

What a wonderful weekend and a great Christmas. Two lovely church services, and fellowship with our church family. Family and friends in for Christmas day. All day with the Grandkids. Beautiful fresh snow. Postcard perfect!

Now to run the excess food off. I own the cookie it does not own me, I own the cookie it does not own me, I own the cookie it does not own me, I own the cookie it does not own me, I own the cookie it does not own me, I own the cookie it does not own me, I own the cookie it does not own me, the cheesecake is another matter!

Happy Monday, back to walking the worries away! Alice

    Happy Monday, everyone!

Sandy--Good for you! I, too, noticed that my bad days are NOTHING like they used to be! Good luck with the dinner on Tuesday.

Teresa--WATP = Walk Away The Pounds--One of Leslie Sansone's video series.

I only did 1 mile yesterday but I did get in 3 miles of the 5 Mile Advanced Walk in this morning--and I did 20 minutes of Hatha yoga both days so I am feeling a lot less stressed. I'd forgotten how much yoga can help with those feelings!

I see that I am close to my goal for this month--I plan on raising it to 75 miles for January. I also want to try Jillian Michaels' Yoga Meltdown to see if it is doable for me. If I don't think I can do it I will give the DVD to my son's girlfriend.

Time to drink some more water and get on with my day. I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

    Hello,

PMJSMOM - Thank you!! I didn't realize she had another series, very Good to know.

Jillian Michaels seems like a really, really tough trainer. I watched Biggest loser ONE time & didn't like how tough she was on one of the girls. But I guess that's what I need a good kick in the butt. I need to switch up on my workout routine. My friend has a biggest loser dvd, maybe I should borrow hers before I buy one. She said it was Very tough!.

I only Have one more mile left to log in & I'll sit back to log in until Januarys Challenge. But I'll still be walking & exercing to get the FAT!!!!! OFF

I got in another 3 miles this evening. I did one of the 3 mile workouts on the 5 mile walk DVD. I did the one with the 2 fast miles and the last mile with the walk belt. I'm really liking the walk belt better now that I shortened it up a bit. I just tied 3 knots in each side. I might eventually tie one more on each side for a little more resistance. It works so much better now that I actually feel like I'm doing something.

I finally bought some new workout pants and went from an extra large to a medium. YaY! The extra large was tight when I started. Too bad the upper body shrunk just as much!

My Tuesday night dinner got postponed until Wednesday so I've got one more day to get in another walk before going.

Teresa, check out the exercise TV channel if you have cable on demand. There are several Jillian Michael workouts on there you can try. Also some WATP and lots of other stuff too.
