    YES! Good job Viggie!

Well Im back and focused this week. I want to finish up with all the goals I have set for myself this month. I got in 3 miles today. The sun was shining so I went for a 1 mile walk with the dog. Then came home and did another 2 on the treadmill. I waited till my husband was home today though because my blood pressure has been all over the place lately. Extremely high this morning. Might be time for a med. adjustment again. I don't know!

Oh well. We are almost done for the month. We are all hanging in there. I know Im ready for January challenge!

Its a long road ahead Viggie, But it's one step at a time & some times 2 back & then five steps ahead. We can't throw in that towel. just keep trucking Along.
I've eaten badly the past couple of days, getting hungry again. I need to get my butt back on track tomorrow.

Hope to see you all back here in January!!!! Happy New Years To ALL !

Hi everybody! It's so good to see everyone looking forward to the new year and it's nice to know that we'll all be around to keep cheering each other on!

I got in another 3 miles tonight. I thought to check my mileage tonight and I am 8 miles away from having 600 miles for the year (since March 1st really) and I need 9 more miles to reach my goal. I won't be able to walk tomorrow night so I don't know if I can get in that many miles before Friday is over! But at least I did better this month than November!

Keep on walking everyone and hang in there Viggie your doing great.

Teresa, maybe it's the cooler weather because I've been hungry too. Or more likely (in my case) it's because my body is still craving all those carbs I ate over the holidays. Carbs do that to me I've noticed.

Marie, I hope your blood pressure calms back down. It's always scary when it jumps around like that.

Thanks for the encouragement everybody. It's kinda of crazy. I walked and then ate an egg and got on the site and told everybody to stay focused and guess who didn't:sad:  I didn't eat over my calories but, it wasn't healthy. Oh well there's always tomorrow

    Go Vigge!!!

My brother has Polymyalgia and exercise is one of the few things that gave him relief. He is 61 now and walks as much as 25 miles a day, can swim 7 miles and is enjoying life so much more. When he started the process he could just hobble along.

You are doing great, Viggie! Keep it up.

In fact, I think we are all doing pretty well--we have stuck with it. Perseverance is the key to success, after all!

I did 2 2-mile walks yesterday. 2 of them had jogging intervals and the other 2 used the walk belt. Turned out to be quite a good workout!

I think I am going to do Chris Freytag's Walking Cardio Shape-up today.

Viggie, I bet you will be better than him.

Honestly I saw a poor crippled man walking down the road one day and turned the car around to see if he needed help. When I drove up to him I realized it was my brother. I did not even recognize him because of the bad condition he was in. Two years later he was off the steroids and pain meds and working out like a machine. He has since done a church mission in the Philipines and is enjoying life to the fullest.

3 miles today for this old gal. I must work my long day tomorrow, will try to get up extra early to get that walk in.

Happy New Year and new start to us all!!!

    Good morning!

Yesterday I did Chris Freytag's Walking Cardio ShapeUp (45mins. so I counted it as 3 miles as it is at least as intense as Leslie's 4 mph walks) and then took the grandson for a 1.5 mile walk. It was sunny and not too cold and we both enjoyed it!

It's going to be MUCH colder today so I don't know yet if I will take him out in it. We'll see how it is in a few hours.

I am doing a lot better at drinking water and I have to admit that I am feeling better. I have not been getting on the scale every day as I used to--that seemed to backfire on me so I am weighing on Sundays ONLY now.

My son got me a new phone for Christmas and is putting a data plan on our package so I will be able to check in during the day when I go back to work. That will help a lot for logging food, etc. I can't wait to try it but our new plan doesn't start for another week. I've never used a phone to go online before--this should be fun!

Time to get my day started. Have a great day, everyone!

    Good afternoon ;-)

PMJSMOM- I would Love to have one of those phones to connect Online, I'm sure you'll LOVE it!!!! Also I think I'll check out the DVD you have by Chris Freytag, I never heard of him, I never saw the DVD at our Walmart But i will surly look for it, I need to change up my routines.

I know getting on that scale to often is a killer for me, i just got on it this morning and didn't like the reading at all. It better go down before my new 40 lb weight loss challenge on January 1st

Have a wonderful Day! I'm heading out soon to return some gifts, UGH! maybe I should bring the pedometer

Teresa--Actually Chris Freytag is a woman and her DVDs (and downloads--that's what I tend to buy as then they can be put on my netbook to take with me) are at exercisetv.tv. I don't know if I've ever seen her videos in a store but, to be honest, I really haven't looked!

This morning I did 3 miles of the 5 mile walk club mix--30 minutes total! I think these are the fastest mies I have ever done! I want to use my Richard Simmons' Blast and Tone later but need to get a few things done first.

I redid my walking ticker for January. I went over this month so I'm happy about that--even though my eating for much of the month wasn't the best. (Viggie--I've eaten horribly, too--the aftertaste is just awful, isn't it?)

Going to try to get some miles in today but really can't say how many I'll get done before people start moving around here! My DS has the day off and my DD has a short day today.

Also need to fix the (very few and actually fairly healthy) snacks for our very small party (just family--4 of us) tonight.

Have a happy, healthy and safe New Year's Eve, everyone!

    Happy New Year's everyone!

It's been a great year and a great month. You have all done great working towards your goals and some of you even went over. I got in the 5 mile advanced walk today but that still leaves me 4 miles short of my goal and 3 miles short of having 600 for the year. But I'm not complaining, I did do more this month than November so I am happy.

I'm going to go work on the new thread for January and I'll come back and post a link here so everyone can find it. I hope to see you all there. If you can't make the walk this month be sure to stop by and say hello to everyone when you can.

Thank you all for being so supportive and keeping everyone motivated. I love this group.

    Sandy

Everyone stay safe if you go out tonight!

Oops! Looks like we're going to be the SWa walking group for January. I made a typo in the heading and it won't let me fix it.

I did the 5 Mile Fat Burning Walk before anyone extra showed up. Feels good to have gotten it done so early.

Going to get supper going--turkey chili and corn bread. then relax until later.

    Happy New Year, Fellow Walkers!

I haven't been as on target with my postings (or my walking), but did make my December goal and thought I'd check in. You'd think the time off work would give me more time for walking, but it's been hectic with family and other commitments. I did get three new LS workouts for XMas (and two people who usually give me cookies supported my weight loss efforts and didn't!): Walk Your Belly Fat 3 Mile, Super Challenge 4 mile, and 5 Mile Fat Burning Walk. Yikes, they're still in the shrink wrap --- guess I have some new year goals.

See you all in the January thread (thanks for setting us up, Sandy!)

QUESTION- hey everyone I love doing the Leslie Sansone DVD's but not sure how to log it in when I track. How do you log it when you dont have a HRM? Thanks

Hi, I log most of her workouts as walking 4.0 miles per hour. Just search for walking in the exercise database. Some of her workouts with boosted walking are a little faster and I'll do the 4.5 or 5 miles per hour. Look up our thread for the January walk if your interesed in meeting others that use her workouts. You can find it by going to my profile page or friend me and you should see it on my wall.
