hey all! don't have too much time to update, but i got a quick skim through the latest... ugh the past week has just been awful.. i was so sick on tues that i called out from work.. my first time in the over 3 years i've been working there... i need to see the doctor today. i haven't been able to properly breathe, smell, or taste since sat. the taste comes back here and there, and after taking theraflu yesterday i felt a bit better.. well that only went so far. i have like half a pharmacy's worth of drugs and nothing is curing me.. i had nasal polyps once, so i'm thinking they might be back.. the only plus side is that it's been hard to eat, and kinda pointless with having no sense of taste, so i've lost 2 lbs lol. haven't worked out since the weekend and i'm missing it. today all i did was lay in bed in front of the tv.. i think being at work, i actually feel a bit better, like at home i was sitting in my sickness or something lol. hope everyone else is doing well!!

mike- i used to run in place watching movies during the summer! it's great! good luck with the job!

Guam and Meag- happy early birthdays!! i really need to start having oatmeal again. i've never had the steel cut ones, just the quick microwave type. love them with bananas.

QOTD: Hard to choose which hair i like the most.. i'm naturally blonde and loved it with highlights, though now i'm totally in love with my current hair which is grown out bangs, and dark brown with red.. too bad the red fades quickly.

As for the second QOTD: I'd love to live in the 20's! I love the flapper style, and Boardwalk Empire on HBO has renewed my enjoyment of things from that time. One year i'm dying to have a Great Gatsby-like bday party

Aaah so my weight went up two pounds then it's back down the original number for the past 8 days.. I increased the intensity on my elliptical but I added a green apple to my diet. I don't know what's going on...hopefully it'll start going down again. I am continuing to work out 6 days a week for 45 min. I think I will cut out a green apple and add more milk to my diet.

Meag, blisters. Kettlebell workouts give me bad blisters/calluses and yesterday I ripped a section of my palm open doing some kettlebell. No pain, no gain? :noway: I might try and peppermint up the cookies because I love mint this time of year (well anytime of year). Not sure how peppermint + oatmeal go together, but I'll investigate.

I'm having a horrid food week. I suppose just by my own standards though. I've been planning my days and then not being hungry or being thrown into impromptu meetings by my boss so eating 300-400 fewer calories before 6PM than I normally do. Which is fine, but than at night after my workouts, I just start eating mindlessly. Only been over calories once this week (uhhh yesterday by 459) and I just figured out that I'm actually in the green for 334 for the week so it could be worse (plus my "maintenance" calories are set to me losing 0.3 pounds a week, so I'm a bit better off). I'm going to go forth and try and make today great, but jaysus. My game plan is totally shot during TOM when it falls during a high stress week at work. Normally, I'm in control but not this week.

This morning I ate 2 oatmeal chocolate chip cookies on the way out the door to work. Thankfully, I'd only had a hard-boiled egg and was going to eat part 2 of my breakfast at work, but AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Okay I'm done venting about food.

    Happy Thursday everyone!
  • TJ--Ooohh that is a good challenge! I will friend you and join!

Meag--Yes that must be it--step is too 80s! I like kickboxing too so maybe that class is "cool" enough that they will have one.

Allie--Hope you feel better. Definitely go to the doctor! A girl in one of my classes was sick for over a month and just taking over the counter stuff b/c she hates the doctor. She finally went to the doctor and had walking pneumonia and bronchitis!!

    Have a great day everybody!
  • Laura--Have you tried doing intervals on the elliptical? Something like 1 minute on level 5, 30 seconds on level 10, and just alternating. Intervals are supposed to be awesome!

Morning all!! Holy smokes it's a cold one out there today! Was -13C when I got up this morning (around 8F, I think) and walked the dog. Brrrrrr :noway:

Anyway, I wanted to get in here and reply to some posts from yesterday that I missed before I get my run on. I'm mostly procrastinating to avoid the cold

Tara - Sounds like you kicked *kitten* this week! Great loss and wonderful job staying on track and having a "perfect" record!

Melissa - Great run yesterday before the dark set in. I definitely concur about running in the dark - I don't feel safe with it at all. I live in a less than ideal neighbourhood and I certainly do not want to be running at night (or early in the AM). Makes it hard in the winter months, for sure, since we have so little daylight to speak of. Kudos to the hubby for helping you make things work - It's so nice to have a supportive partner on this journey with you

Aly - I didn't mean to be critical, for the record, just wanted to tell you what works best for me. I tend to have issues with moderation and "cheating" and so if I limit myself to one cheat a week or so I find it easier to stay on track. I don't even entertain the thought of having desserts or high-cal items on other days because as soon as I try to justify it I know that I've lost the battle, mentally. Having a few treats here and there is a slippery slope for me and always leads to more treating and snacking. We all just have to know our own mental limits and what works best for us on our journey. Keep chipping away at it and figure out what is best suited to your lifestyle -- The holidays are a hard time for everyone, but you'll get it back in Jan with renewed energy for a healthy year. Good luck girl <<hugs>>

Allie - I'm sorry to hear you're having a rough week :ohwell: I really hope you start feeling better soon and can get back to your schedule. Get to the docs soon if you aren't noticing any improvement - Remember: Health is #1  Good luck on the loss, just have to hope it sticks around! haha Stay on track once you start feeling better, get lots of fluids, and you should be good to go.

Skip - Step is 80s and I love it!! If I had to live in any decade, it would be 80s I think. Totally awesome excuse to look ridiculous 24/7 and wear all kinds of neon. Not to mention my crazy big curly hair was SO in style! I'm a child of the 80s, what can I say!

Jill - You are way more bad-*kitten* than me, clearly. Blisters are an acceptable excuse for stopping a workout short. Sorry - I can't be bothered with that kind of pain for days after. Esp since I want to keep working out without aggravating them even worse. The fact that I have to use my hands CONSTANTLY at work is another consideration. It's just not worth it to me. Let me know how the peppermint cookies turn out... I'm skeptical, but if you say they're good I'll definitely test them out! Maybe I'll make a double batch of cookies and mix half with fruit and half with peppermint and choc. Hmmm... I'll make sure I give a bunch away too

Laura - Keep at it! I somehow doubt the apple is causing your problems, but figure out what works best for you and then stick with it. You're doing great

AFM - Cold run ahead. Then homemade souvlaki, greek salad, and tsaziki for dinner tonight. Working at 10pm so I'll probably grab some oatmeal before I leave. I'm heading to Costco tonight and am determined to avoid all samples. Hoping to pick up some more greek yogurt, frozen fruit, and who knows what else!

I will likely be MIA for the most part Fri/Sat/Sun because of birthday celebrations and obligations. My boy has all kinds of surprises planned for Friday. He's the sweetest guy -- I am so incredibly lucky! He's even making room to accommodate an early morning trip to the gym for me so I can workout before our adventures. He's coming to pick me up, taking me to the gym for an hour and a half (he's going to waste time at the mall I think) and then bringing me home to shower quickly before we go out. No idea what we have planned for the day, but I know it involves dinner and ice cream... Sat we're heading into the city for my birthday, and then driving back to my city for dinner with my family before I have to work at 10pm. Sunday I am hoping to long-run but we're supposed to get 15cms of snow... :grumble: We'll see how it looks Sunday morning. Sunday afternoon we're heading down to see his family in Niagara and decorating a Gingerbread House with his brother and cousin... Should be a testament to my will power with all that candy around :noway: Not a great food weekend planned, that's for sure. Tons of eating out, ice cream, candy, and three LONG days... We'll see how things go!

Have a great Thursday everyone :flowerforyou:

Guam- Hope you are having fun in Disneyland and just enjoying yourself !!! I am with you on the not working out at home. I just cant get motivated to do it. Finally joined a gym that was only 5 minutes from my house. Cost more money than the big one I was going to 20 minutes away. But I find that I go more often for two major reasons: 1- because it is super close and 2- because it has a small town atmosphere and everyone is super friendly and I don’t run in to the issue that other people have talked about on here- feeling uncomfortable in the free weights section because of all the grunting and weight dropping. Many times it is me and a few guys beween 40-60. So we end up sharing lifting exercise ideas with each other. Kind of cool

So glad you only contemplated- don’t do it! We all have our rough days/weeks/months. The hardest part is to get through that and keep on trucking along. I was there a few weeks ago! You got this and more importantly you DESERVE this!!!

Rai- how is your upper quad feeling? Any progress with that?

Tara- swimming sounds awesome- haven’t done it since I was younger but it is SUCH an amazing workout

Mike- glad to hear the interview went well! Good luck :) Awesome idea about staying moving while watching a movie or tv.

Tai- glad you got back in to the working out. Keep with it girl! I just starting getting back in to some strength training last week again and it feels SOOOO good :)

Meag- I cant wait to try your whole grain and chic pea salad recipe. Printed it off last week actually! Its good that you are trying different things out… I hate biking at the gym unless it is in a spin class and then I have LOVED that. You should check out a book called “The New Rules for Lifting for Women” really great book. All about how its important for women to lift and debunks a lot of myths about “toning” and all the other media hype out there targeting women. You may enjoy it more than stereotypical gym lifting. I found a copy of it on amazon for around $6 and it was a great read! Havent started the program- its going to be my next leg of lifting once I have dropped a bit more weight and need to change things up, but the information part was supper helpful on how I am approaching being healthy and fit. The author and co-authors are really well know in the fitness/nutrition/and lifting world! I think the first chapter is on their website if you want to see if it is worthwhile.
Def want that recipe from your mom’s chili sounds fabulous. I do the same thing sometimes with my coffee and a protein shake… YUM!

Jill- those cookies sound great! Another recipe for the books!!!

Ngoat- heard about the WW thing. Not for me personally, but I am really happy to hear that they did that with fruits and veggies. So many people I know that have done it in the past wouldn’t eat them because they didn’t want it to take up all of their points.

Seripha- always love resources for eating and workouts! Thanks for sharing.

Aly- LOVe the pick. Super cute haircut- thanks for sharing with us. You hit it on the nose- one day at a time… sometimes one moment at a time!!!! I constantly have to remind myself of that!

Tara (TJ) awesome on the weight loss. Keep rockin it girl!!!

Melissa- any interest in sharing the “Healthified” Tuna Casserole… hehe

Skip- glad you are almost done! I remember finals time- crazines… but it makes getting done and being on break that much better

    Allie- feel better!!!!

Seems like we have a few birthday girls on here!!! YAY happy early birthdays!

AFM- been a great week just haven’t been able to share it on here (laptop is still down at home) I am able to hop on the fiancés fone at night just to update food and exercise. I am super determined right now. Was kinda in a lull these past few weeks and feeling down about it. But December has brought on more determination (to really work on my fitness goals). So here it is almost my first week over.

Got my healthy new recipe in for the week- It was a chic pea chicken dish with bulghar wheat. Very good but I am looking forward to trying Meag’s version next!

Weight- Weigh in is tomorrow so will keep you updated on that.

Walking/Running Schedule: Came up with a schedule to try out this week. Already changed it around a bit. But I have gone to the gym a few times on my non-lifting days. Got some good walks in on the treadmill. And on Monday I did a walk/run routine for the first time. Felt great! Pretty much the first day of C25K I think. Will see how it goes using that model loosly but mostly just listening to what my body needs.

Lifting: 1 of 2 days in so far for the week. Tomorrow is day number 2. Amped up my lifting workout by adding some more core and back exercises to it that weren’t there before.

So All in all feeling really good. Will see how the WI goes AND how picking up my wedding dress goes tomorrow. Kind of nervous that I ordered it and the wedding isn’t until next October, but didn’t want to take the chance of not being able to get it. So I ordered it only 1 size down. And since I ordered it I am down 8 lbs. Im not stressing it through. This journey isn’t about the wedding or a dress its about me and being healthy to be able spend a long time with my fiancé! Im not a girly girl- far from it actually- but I do have butterflies about going to check out the dress tomorrow!!! EEEEEK

All the QOTD’s that I have missed

QOTD- Hairstyle: bob with bangs. Definitely too hard to maintain for someone with no patience like myself. Growing it out now so I can do whatever I want with it for the wedding. So it mostly ends up in a ponytail or up with bobbypins
QOTD- Wardrobe color: mostly blacks…. Starting to branch out again though!
QOTD- decade: hmmmm would have to go with the 20’s as well althought I am addicted to the show Mad Men right now. So loving that 50’s 60’s thing but definitely could not be a housewife. Looks like the fiancé may end up staying home with the kids once we decide to have them
QOTD: favorite meal when cold: some sort of hot steamy soup!!!!! YUM

    Hey Everyone! Good morning!

I am determined to have a good day even though the salad I ordered last night at the brewery was 1000 calories :-0 O well you live and you learn. At least I ate it after a really good run, makes me feel like yesterday was a cheat day for the rest of the week tho! I also have dinner and drinks tomorrow at my friend's event. I know it won't be healthy, next week also has lots of food plans. The name of the game for me is maintaining and not gaining this month. I know it is not the way to lose weight but this is just what is going to have to work for me. I will get back on the horse when I have time and not so many damn events! Tonight I am going to swim and try to do some weights. I want to incorporate weights in my routine, we will see how that goes after my 12 hour day at work. Why do salads have to be so deceiving! I should have looked at the nutritional facts. O well, again.

QOTD: What is your tactic for eating out?
I usually prefer to not do it, but when I have to for various reasons, I try to stick to salads. Apparently not a good idea last night tho lol.

QOTD: What is your tactic for eating out?
I also try to avoid it, generally, but I have a few tactics...
    1) I'm the pain in the *kitten* diner that asks what is in everything. I know it's annoying but it's good to know what is in your food. I also have a drastic aversion to mayonnaise and a few other common foods, so it helps to ask instead of gagging down your food  Most of us don't ask for things to be taken back to I try to be proactive about it.
    2) I always substitute the high-carb sides for veg or fresh fruit. I do this at any meal. I know that I can't "just have a few" with my plate in front of me, so I make the decision before I order and no turning back! If I want one or two, I'll just steal from someone else. A garden salad, fresh cut fruit, or steamed veggies. Ask how they are cooked - a lot of places cook all the goodness out of their veggies, which defeats the purpose entirely!
    3) Get all dressing/sauces/etc on the side, or ask for none (a little balsamic vinegar on the side instead goes a long way).
    4) Order coffee/tea instead of dessert. It's not the *best* but it's better than a small piece of cake for 400+ calories.
    5) Skip the appetizer. Honestly, portions are so big you will be full without it. If you want to order one, make it a fresh salad or broth/tomato based soup and then eat only half of your entree (pack the other half to go, or share with a friend). Restaurants give SO much food that half of what is served is often more than enough for the average person. Our eyes tend to me much bigger than our stomachs.
    6) Order water to drink. With all the "unknowns" of restaurant dining, a mystery beverage is just wasted calories. Water with fresh lime for me. If I want a treat, I get Perrier with lime. Exciting, huh? It works for me

Happy dining this season, everyone! :flowerforyou:

    6) Order water to drink. With all the "unknowns" of restaurant dining, a mystery beverage is just wasted calories. Water with fresh lime for me.

LOL Meag- I get water with Lime too!

I really don't go out that often, not because of the calorie issue so much as the cost one.

    1) My biggest strategy is planning! If I know I am going to be going out, I try to leave about 5-700 calories and choose what I want to eat before going to the restaurant. I avoid salads, cuz honestly, I could make them myself. I tend to lean towards wraps or cold sandwiches. I pace myself, and usually am full at about 1/2. Unless I am really in the mood for fries, I snag a few off the boy's plate and call it a day. Dessert also never gets paired with going out to eat- it's usually one or the other for me- go out for dinner? OR Go out for dessert?

2)This might be random, but I also find it helps get over that "bloating" phase (you know, you go out to eat and overnight put on 3lbs) if I save at least part of my workout/any kind of physical activity for AFTER I've eaten takeout. Even if its just a long walk, really helps the way I feel going to bed that night and when I get up in the morning.

    3) DON'T Stress out about it- If I'm going out to eat its usually for downtime with the boy or to see someone I havent seen in a while. They dont want to deal with me freaking out about every french fry, and quite frankly, I don't want to stress over every bite. I plan, I pace- If I get to the 1/2 point and am still hungry, then I will eat until I'm full. Freaking out about how bad what I ate is seems, to me, counter productive. I do wut I want; tha's how I roll:glasses:

Sorry I don't have a chance to catch up with you guys- this is about all the posting my cold-addled brain can handle right now.

Thanks Meag, these are all great ideas. I just have to learn how to implement them. This week I have a dinner tomorrow night that I don't even know what will be in it. I am contemplating eating at home before I go, but that usually makes me eat almost 2 dinners. Next week is the bad week, my gym is having a guest dinner on tuesday night and everything sounds soo good I don't want to pass it up. We are having a christmas party lunch at work next friday, also with breakfast to hold us over until 2 when the lunch is. I was going to go out that night but with this going on and training the next morning I will have to miss the night festivities. I am going to just do my best, it is all I can do. I am not going to miss parties because when I did that before in this journey I was more upset than I was when I was really heavy. I am a very social person and I do like my food. This will be a true test of moderation and balance.

I feel better re: my cookies this morning. Cookies were 303 calories and I went for a walk on my lunch break (in about 6F with nasty wind) and burned 310 calories. I've been worried about it all day because I gave in way too much this week without thinking, so I feel better and more in control now

Meag, I'm just dumb. I don't stop when I hurt myself...ever. I have this ridiculously stubborn trait where I never give in when I should and then throw my hands up in the air and quit when things are no big deal  All part of my charm, I suppose! Your dinner sounds good, I'm not one for Greek (I despise feta) but I need to be more adventurous with Greek food. Nice job on getting out there in the cold! Easier said than done I know, but try not to stress too much and just make the best choices for your birthday festivities! It's only one day (er weekend) just get back on track on Monday and have fun!

Finn, welcome back! Glad to hear you're determined! Oooooh wedding dress! You can always find a way to get it taken in, or get someone to buy it off you and get a smaller size! Just get healthier and try not to worry about fitting into it!

Aly, that sucks about the salad. I often get salads when I go out (which is not that often), but try to do my research and find something nutritionally similar to get the stats. Dressings will KILL YOU. Absolutely Panera's Greek dressing is 220 calories. I don't like Greek, so I get balsamic but yikes! Maintaining is a good idea for you right now. Good plan!

    Gonks, feel better!

QOTD: What is your tactic for eating out?
    6) Order water to drink. With all the "unknowns" of restaurant dining, a mystery beverage is just wasted calories. Water with fresh lime for me.

LOL Meag- I get water with Lime too!
We are each other's cross-border dobble-ganger, I swear! Too funny, Gonks!

You know, I got the dressing on the side. I don't think they gave me as much as I saw in the nutritional info, it said 6 servings, which I only had one little dish of at the table. So it might have been a little less but still lesson learned. Thanks for supporting me even with maintaining. I feel like a failure sometimes because I am not trying to lose 100% of the time. But hey I have been at this for a few years now, I know the name of the game.
  • QOTD - For eating out if I can, I like to pre-read up on what is on the menu if I can. Either on the website or at least on my Nutrition Info app. It's good because I can check out the caloric content of the menu item for 100's of restaurants.

I know it doesn't necessarily work for smaller, independent stores but it's good if you're going to a "brand name" restaurant.

Otherwise I stick to my tested and true green leafy salad with dressing on the side and a grilled cajun chicken breast. Or if I'm feeling like I want to splurge a little bit I'll buy a protein / veggie - full appetizer and just eat that. It can be risky so you have to have a good idea of what is in something :)

lostalykat - hey, even if you're maintaining sometimes you just need support to not let it all go :)
  • Meag--Hope you have a fantastic birthday weekend! I always say that calories don't count on your birthday. Don't worry if you go a little over because it will be gone by the end of the week I'm sure. That being said, I do wish you luck on your will power, and hope you can stay away from the stuff that's not worth it to you.

Finn--So great that you're having an awesome week. Glad you're out of your funk! How exciting about picking up your wedding dress! You should show us a pic!

Aly--I hear ya on December being about maintaining. I just want to lose a couple of my Thanksgiving lbs in the beginning of the month and then maintain the rest. My husband and I will be going to Atlanta to visit our families and both houses are always full of bad stuff so it's hard for me to actually lose any weight in Dec, which I am fine with.

QOTD: At restaurants I try to substitute healthy things like a side salad instead of fries. I also ask for no croutons if I order a salad because I know I can't just pick them out--I will eat them if they are there! I ask for dressing on the side, and sometimes I ask for no cheese. I also always order burgers without a bun. (Note: I do eat carbs--just whole grain ones and I know the ones at restaurants are not.) One of the best things I think you can do is ask for a to-go box WITH your meal so you can go ahead and divide the meal in half and close the box. Another crazy thing I have done before is squirt katsup or skake a TON of salt on something if I'm full and don't want to take home leftovers--otherwise I will pick at it even when I'm full.

    Welcome Shaunie!

guam and meag-happy birthday!! have fun this weekend! :)

laura-are you doing low carb?? just curious :)

    skiptomylou-welcome to the challenge!!

Meag-that is WAY too cold...and i am happy to say that I do not miss it!! thanks for the encouragement!

Cait-thanks!! and good luck for you tomorrow and great job on your goals so far!

    Shaunie-welcome to the thread :)

QOTD-when i am going out to eat...I will pick the place, if i can, based off of if they have healthy alternatives on the menu with calories listed or not! if I can't pick the place but I know where i am going i will also look at the menu online and try to find or at least figure out a good guestimate of the calories before i go. If i can't pick or don't know where i am going until i get there, i try to stick with a salad or at least grilled chicken and veggies, fat free dressing on the side...no croutons no cheese, and always order a side salad instead of fries or potatoes or soup!! and its always diet coke for me :)

AFM-still doing great...I weighed again today (since i do everyday) and was down another 2.2lbs from yesterday...of course i wont record it on here until Wednesday which is my next actual weigh-in day :) i have a really good feeling about this month and i am currently only 2lbs away from my lowest adult weight ever, so i am pumped!! i also tried a new recipe which was very good and very filling so i thought that i would post it for anyone that needed a new idea :)

    Sweet Turkey Chili

    1lb lean ground turkey
    1 medium green pepper chopped
    1 small red onion chopped
2 cloves of garlic finely chopped
26oz of diced tomatoes (not drained)
    6oz tomato paste
    14oz chicken broth
14oz kidney beans (rinsed and drained)
    1 tbsp of chili powder
    1/4tsp of black pepper
    1/8tsp of garlic powder
    1/8tsp of cumin

    1. brown turkey with onions, green pepper, and garlic in a large skillet.
    2. add meat mixture to 4qt slow cooker and stir in the rest of the ingredients
    3. cook on low for 4-5 hours
    4. serve with fat free shredded cheese!

and thats it!!! easy easy easy!!! about 267calories per cup...and i used all low sodium stuff :)

    hey everyone!!

thanks for all the well wishes! i got to the doctor today and fortunately i didn't need an antibiotic, just some mucinex, which i promptly bought right after i left the office. it's expensive at $22 a box, but it's def worth it.. plus you only take 1 every 12 hours, instead of 4-6. so far i'm def feeling better, and it also helped that when i weighed myself today i was at 159.5! oh my goodness was i excited to see the 150's lol! hopefully as i get back into the normal routine it'll stay that way and i won't go back to my rut of 163-162.

i give you runners A LOT of credit in getting out there in these temps.. i'm so tempted, but then i step outside and totally talk myself out of it.

    welcome Shaunie!!

QOTD: I also try to avoid eating out, and since early summer i've managed to completely avoid fast food places. i wasn't crazy big into them, but would have it now and again. i don't even miss it. i try to think of those documentaries and such where they tell you all the gross things about the food and it totally turns me off.
If i end up going out somewhere I like to be prepared, and go with the approach of looking the menu up if possible. i also have that food nutrition app on my phone which helps too. i won't lie.. i don't always substitute fries, b/c sometimes i just really want them, however i never order soda, always water with lemon. my friend and i have a standing sushi date, so that's usually the only time i'll eat out, and treat it as my cheat day. since i know i'll be going i try to get in a good workout so i'll have the calories for it.

tonight i'm going to Atlantic City with the guy i'm seeing, and he already mentioned the word "buffet" lol.. oh boy!

everyone enjoy your weekends!! i'll be working sat and sun night, booo!

I weighed today I am at 178! Yippee! My body is so weird! My TOM came yesterday so I must of had water retention the week prior and today is day two of the cycle and I've lost 2 pds? Weird but I'll take it! I don't track my TOMs because it's very irregular. I thought I might of hit a plateau so I did interval training on the elliptical and it kicked my butt! I sweated more for the 30 minutes then my 45 min at the same resistance! Loving it!

    Very selfish update...

It's my birthday weekend starting today (yes, I get a whole weekend - what's it to you?) and I wanted to WI before I gorge on ice cream and fattening foods. I don't normally weigh-in on Fridays, but maybe I should start! Lost 1.3lbs since Monday, meaning I am at 130.1lbs, or 0.1lbs away from my GW :drinker:  :drinker: Pretty close - I'm calling it a WIN!

Worked til 3am last night, got to bed around 415am and was up at 8am for step class today (literally one of the only classes I could find) before a long day of festivities. I don't even care how tired I am! Today has already been great and I know it's only going to get better!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Hey ladies! it has been waaay 2 long. Had work for three nights then dinner with friends Thursday night after I got up. So haven't really been able to keep up with this grrreat thread. Please forgive me.

Awhile ago I was asking about dogs. Above is a pic of my pup that goes with me when I run/walk. She is my love!!!

Been doing ok this week. Need desperately to work out today so I can salvage my 3 workouts a week goal and my push-up challenge. I ate over 130 one day and then under 130 the next... so overall doing well. However, a family @ church invited us over last night and their daughter was cooking dinner. I didn't intend to say no even though she cooked pasta with vodka sauce which I think was about 450-500 calories a serving, plus bread, plus ceaser salad... plus cheesecake...

Needless to say... I need to work out today.

The rest of my weekend is full of parties and dinners and get togethers so it is going to be especially challenging. Since I won't be hurting feelings not to eat my face off at these engagements I will absolutely be light on the snacking and eating big healthy meals before going. May not see a great loss on the scale this upcoming weigh-in though.. Which bothers me on some level, but like I was telling my husband in the car last night that this is a process, and if I choose to overeat one day then there will be another day, week, month, to treat my body well and continue to loose weight until I'm at a healthy weight. I'm really trying to look at this as a long term goal, so maybe I won't have lost the weight by the end of December but I will absolutely have made progress. In the end my attitude towards food is absolutely changing little by little. For example - Didn't feel like I HAD TO finish my cheesecake... left the last couple bites... that was fine. I used to feel like I should lick my plate clean... who knows when that cheesecake shortage will come to an end!!! :noway: yea right, lol.

My right upper abdominal pain has come down A LOT! Thanks for those who asked and posted possible causes/remedies. It is the best it has been since Thanksgiving so I'm wondering if it had to do with me getting lots of sleep and taking the exercise easy this week... who knows. I'm pretty sure its not life threatening tho. yay!

Look forward to keeping up with y'all this weekend!!
