Hi everyone,
Yesterday was great, just the boost needed. My new exercise was a Billy Blanks Tae Bo DVD that’s been lurking on my shelf with a few other well intentioned workout DVDs for a couple years. The new food was some extra lean turkey mince. Not very exotic but it did make a very nice Sheppard’s pie with butternut squash substituted for the potato (thank you Nigel Slater) and felt very festive.
Sunday’s goals:
1. Water
2. Finish Christmas shopping
3. Exercise: Shred, walk and something else
4. Try new balsamic chicken recipe (might have to change my name to Delia if this goes on )
5. Draw
Hope you’re all having a great weekend!0 -
Goals for Dec. 18:

2. Log my food AND make healthy choices. Not bad until I baked some cookies!

Yesterday could have been better but it is a new day today! I didn't eat too many of the cookies but I wasn't hungry and really didn't need them. Oh well, most of them are in the freezer now--under the veggies!

2. Stay in my calories!
3. exercise for 60 minutes.
Finish the last of the cards.0 -

PS: Kathy, I got my cards in the mail on Friday (finally) I hope they arrive in time for Christmas. Some of them are locally, but most are out of state.0 -
Sunday’s goals:
1. Water – Just under
2. Finish Christmas shopping – Definite yes
3. Exercise: Shred, walk and something else – yes to walk but knackered my shoulder carrying Christmas shopping so tried to let it rest.
4. Try new balsamic chicken recipe – No, decided to finish up left overs instead
5. Draw – No, that was just plain laziness
I didn’t meet many goals yesterday but it still felt pretty successful.

Anyway enough rambling and onto weekend goals (even though it's a little late).
1. Sunday training hopefully Body Attack if the class is running. *DONE
2. Water water water. *8 CUPS
3. I know I will be going over today but only by about 100 cals so must make sure I stay under on Sunday. *CHECK
4. Rest on Sunday after training to get over the ridiculously busy week last week and to prepare for this week coming up. *CHECK
5. If the snow let's up and the roads are driveable then try and get out to do some xmas shopping. *CHECK
Managed to get to class yesterday morning but because of the horrible snow storm the day before it was only 2 of us that showed up! Still did the class though but she pushed us extra hard! Felt my chest tightening and my throat very sore when I was finished. Managed to walk to the shopping centre and get some xmas shopping done but felt awful so came home and slept for a while but have somehow developed a mild chest infection.
There are no trains running today so no way I can get into work. I can log in from home so will work at home today. Also think resting at home and not going out in this weather will hopefully mean I can shift this chest infection sooner rather than later.
So onto Monday's goals...
1. Lots of water and tea.
2. Generally rest no training today.
3. Try and do at least some work today.
4. Try hard to stay under cals but if I go over then not by more than 200 cals so I'm at least under maintenance cals.
5. Tidy up my flat. It's getting a bit out of hand.
Hope you all have a great day!!!0 -
Goals for Dec. 19:

Finish the last of the cards. Thought I had them finished and in the mail but last night I remembered 2 more I need to do. Will get them in the box as soon as I have some coffee!
Leela--The USPS is saying that if things are mailed today (first class, anyway) then they will arrive by Christmas so you should be okay. Even my last 2 should arrive on time! (I hope!)
Goals for Dec 20:
1. Exercise early before going shopping.
2. Healthy choices!
3.WATER!!!!
4 Finish my son's hat and hopefully start a matching neck-warmer.
I need to keep the cookies and candies OUT OF MY MOUTH! I know I can do it--I just need to be attentive to what I REALLY want--a healthier body!

@Nam - Are you all still covered in snow? I see you mentioned the trains may be cancelled. They are calling for a white Christmas here in the DC area. We are supposed to be getting snow both Saturday and Sunday. For the most part I have all the gifts for everyone. I'm missing some gift cards and something for my nephew. Hello everyone!
Finals are over!! And now I'm home working Christmas Candylane at Hershey with no Christmas shopping done yet. haha. Excellent. Hope everyone is doing well! I know I haven't checked in in awhile. So goals for today are...
1. Water! Water! Water! Havent been drinking it for awhile.
2. Stop snacking-- ever since I've been home I"ve been eating everything I see. It really needs to stop.
3. Finsih unpacking.
4. Decorate the Christmas Tree!
Nicole0 -
kathy eveyone called and said they received their cards or packages. I'm glad they got there before Christmas. Usually I wait until the last minute, but I was relieved and less stressed to get them out earlier.
Nicole, enjoy your time with your family. Enjoy the homecooked meals more than the snacks. I know they're hard to come by when you're away. How far do you live from home? I was about an hour away so I would pop in weekly, then bi weekly, then monthly...lol as I was less homesick.
Steph, it seems like you've been doing well meeting all your goals.
Meanness, didn't realize we were in the same December miles challenge. Do you think you'll meet your goal? I also have a few 5k's that I want to do next year. There is a website that tells me where and when all the locals races are. The first one is on April 2, I am really looking forward to it because it will be around the one year anniversary of my knee surgery.
I went to zumba today, I felt like crap. I got through it though. Debating on whether or not to go back tonight. I have been drinking a lot of fluids. I just don't have any energy. I don't have a cold, no squeezing or coughing. I just get really hot really quickly and sometimes I feel dizzy or light headed.
Well that's all I have for now, sorry if I missed anyone, I will try to write more later.

Nicole - I've never been to Hershey Park. I hope you are enjoying your job there for the break. Christmas Candylane sounds like a fun place to be. YAY to the finals being over!
Leela - I hope you feel better...whatever it is.0 -
Goals for Dec. 22:
1. Water.--Good
2. Exercise for 60 minutes..--yes
3. Watch choices (need to make some truffles today :ohwell: ) and stay within my calories.--yes
4. Hat!--Still working in it! (Last step to do)
So, not too bad of a day. Keeping the same goals as I still have some truffles to form and coat and some cookies to bake.
Goals for Dec. 23:
1. Water.
2. Stay in my calories and make healthy choices.
3. Exercise.
4. Finish Christmas prep.

today's goals
1. water intake (this really seems to be working)
2. week 5 day 3 100 pushup challenge
3. do not snack in between meals0 -
I have been doing really good with trying to eat right and drink plenty of water and trying to exercise. Those have been my 3 main goals lately.
I just finished zumba on wii for 45 minutes, I never go to the gym on Thursdays and I usually take the day off. Debating on whether to go to the gym tomorrow, they will be open until noon.
I have been sneaking in extra vegetables by eating things like stir fry and salad. Also I made spaghetti and added broccoli and zucchini in addition to the regular veggies I already use.
I still feel a little under the weather, but I am doing much better. I have been taking theraflu and it seems to work temporarily. I'm drinking more fluids and hopefully it will be gone by the weekend.
wb fitbot! how long have been doing your push up challenge?0 -
hiii longer than 5 weeks... but i just finished week 5. also i am for now doing the wimpy pushups (on my knees). Once I finish I will attempt the real ones.
i have been doing yoga every single day for 25 min for 5 weeks now0 -
Morning all! Hope everyone is well. Really busy week this week at work and then I was out yesterday with work and it turned into a late night! No one is being very productive today!
My goals for today are to drink loads of water and to be sensible with food. Going to my mum's once I finish work via my flat and will be there for a few days. I am planning to log my food over the next few days even though I know I will be going over. can't wait to get back into training properly from Monday as it feels like ages since I have!
Goals for the next couple of days are to have a fun festive time and to keep up with my water!
Hope you all have a Merry Christmas!0 -

I should meet my goal. I am doing couch 2 5k so that mileage is pretty small but I am combining with a stationary bike. I am going to check around for 5Ks in my area (Cincinnati) so I can sign up for one this spring. I just hit the one year anniversary of my knee surgery and it's feeling pretty good on my runs. Can't wait for some warmer weather so I can get back on my road bike. I will have to do the math and figure out what I want my summer goal to be for both running and biking miles.
Best of luck to you!0 -
goals for yesterday. MET
goals for today
1. water up up
2. keep eating VERY sensible until xmas eve dinner
3. only 2 glasses of wine.0 -
Leela- I live about 2 hours from home. So far enough that I can't come home all the time but close enough that I can if I need to. I tend to come home a lot... not because I'm homesick but because I need a break from all the craziness that is Penn State on a normal day. lol.
And Christmas Candylane is so much fun! As is Hersheypark in general. I love all the lights and I get to go to actual kiddie rides and rides that I haven't been to in a while since I became a supervisor.
I'm doing a little better on the snacking over the past few days but not perfect. The water is still a work in progress as well.
Today my goals are to do a little bit of last minute Christmas shopping (I started yesterday)... I'm such a procrastinator. Do the wrapping. Clean my room a little bit.
Merry Christmas Eve everyone! Hope everyone has a great holiday!0 -
Goals for Dec. 23:
1. Water.--Should have been better.
2. Stay in my calories and make healthy choices.--Not too bad.
3. Exercise.--no. (Not sure why not--just didn't happen!)
4. Finish Christmas prep.--Hat is DONE. Won't have time for the neck warmer but the hat looks REALLY good.
So, the truffles turned into pans of fudge--much faster! The cookies did not get made. I got the hat finished and the things I have are all wrapped. I just need a few stocking stuffers and then I am done.
Goals for Dec. 24:
1. WATER--lots of it!
2. Exercise.
3. Healthy choices (and stay out of the fudge!)
Dinner tomorrow is fairly easy. My son bought a ham, my daughter is making green bean casserole and we will have au gratin potatoes and salad with it. Loads of sodium, though, so I WILL be carrying a water bottle all day!0 -
Hello everyone! just stoppiing in to write down a few goals. Mainly for tomorrow.
1. don't overdo it! the temptations of food will be all around me, but only eat when hungry.
2. continue sipping on water all day.
3. have fun!0
