    Happy Monday Ladies!

Erica - That's interesting about the temps bc i wondered about that....like if it's cold in my room will that effect my temp...hmm....well it's still in the 50's here so chilly but not cold cold...

Jalara - I am really enjoying not working (minus the no money part) for the first little while i didn't know what to do with myself but now i am getting into a good routine and finishing up the semester strong. I don't know how i ever managed to work full time and go to school full time before i was married...now i just can't swing it!

Today I'll be working on a paper for my government class and then i just have two tests and I'm done for the semester and can focus on Christmas stuff! AF was finally done on Friday and the way my husband and i were acting you would THINK we were trying! Every time i turned around he was reaching for the "raincoats" in the drawer! One more cycle and then we'll have our chance! He's starting to get excited! We rearranged the guest room for the final time, i finally LIKE it (it has been the bane of my existence since we moved in and we finally got it to a point where the furniture is functional and someone could actually live in it! )The whole time he kept talking about when we convert it to a nursery...I told him i like the way it is and we just needed another bedroom for the baby! LoL He also has started noticing my alarm go off at 530am to temp... He asked if i could change the time to 7am vs 530am to take my "vagina temperature" (he knows it's not actually my vagina but thinks it's funny to call it that) he said it is disturbing his sleep...I CALMLY explained that i needed to do it when i was still kinda half asleep, not talking, drinking or excessive moving so super early morning is the best and most acurate time to do it....only a few more week of it...he'll live

Yes, Alisa, all kinds of outside forces can impact your temperatures. I may have also been sleeping with my mouth open and I wasn't under the covers. So I'm sure they're way lower than they should have been. Alcohol and tylenol can also impact your temps. However, the main purpose of temping is to see the overall pattern and not worry about the day-to-day fluctuations (unless you're waiting for a shift so you can take a break! )

That's why I stopped temping originally...LOL We were living in an apartment at the time and didn't have the ability to control the temp in the unit so it was kind of erratic and no patterns (also, with my pCOS, it wasn't a sure thing anyways)

Hey ladies.. I had my first apt. today! It was great. We had an US and measured in at 6 weeks and 1 day. My due date is August 5th. We were able to see and hear the heart beat of the baby which was amazing! The only thing that happened was the heart beat was at 108 and they like it to be at 120 usually but the dr. wasn't worried at all since its so early she said its usual that its a little slow. We are going in next week for another US to double check although I am not worried!!!
  • Anne Elise that's so exciting! I can't wait for that moment! (I'm sure we all can't wait!)

As for the temps... funny I've never really had a huge difference in temps due to outside temperatures. It's minus fricken 30 degrees here right now and my temps are the same whether I sleep with my window open (which I don't when it's THIS cold) or with the heat cranked or anything. A few times I've woken up and realize how HOT I am (with a touch of sweat on my neck and chest even) and I think "oh god, my temp is going to be way high" and it's like 96.5 or something like that! (normal in my FP - I only go up to upper 97's in my LP). I'm always surprised that my temps stay relatively normal regardless of the temp of the room etc.

I must be like... wonder woman or something. LMAO  (totally just kidding - hope no one thinks I'm an ego maniac or something!)

I'm up a pound but my official weigh in is Wednesdays so I'm not worried. I didn't drink enough water this weekend. Weekly goal - drink more water! And put the chocolates away! LOL
  • Oh I should mention - the only thing that screws up my temps is if I drink a lot of alcohol the night before. I usually discard those temps.
  • Hey Everyone!
So glad to hear all the buzz of baby news!!! Gives me hope! I did my second MFP weigh-in yesterday and gained back the two pounds I had lost. A little discouraging, but AF is due any moment now, so I'm hoping it's just water that's hanging on. I have been doing really well with tracking my food every day (the good AND the bad), but not doing well at all with the exercising. Now that I'm feeling well, holiday obligations seem endless! I'm really hoping to make some time for exercise. I should bundle up and go for a walk on my lunch break today, it's better than nothing. I'm glad that the only holiday obligation I have this weekend is at my house, so I'm in control of the food that will be served. I'll sneek my girls some low fat recipes, they won't know the difference. Hope everyone is doing well!

Okay question for my temping ladies - Today I woke up and took my temp at 7:30 like I do everyday and it was 97.76. I have a stuffy nose so I slept with my mouth open all night. I did not get up and I went back to sleep, this time with my mouth closed and I woke back up at 8:00 and took it again and it was 98.10. Which one should I use?

On the temp topic, I always wondered about how accurate my temp is because there’s no way for me wake up at the same time every morning. DH wakes up anywhere from 3:30-5:30AM to leave for work (this is when I usually temp and then go back to sleep till I have to be up at 6:30AM. Is it really that bad if there is that two hour difference every so often?
Oh and on a side note, I note if I drink alcohol so that if my temp is slightly different I know why. But in the past three months I’ve maybe had 3 drinks, so I’m not too worried about my drink a month affecting my temps too much.

You should always use the first temp. You should also take your temp after at least three consecutive hours of sleep. And it really should be at the same time every day, if you can manage it.

SINCE we're talking about it.....Is it also normal to have the same temp everyday? Mine has been 96.8 for the past 2 days and before that it was 96.78 or 96.76 so that's normally to be the same right? That's how you track it? It's the same so when you see the shift it's more obvious??

I've been doing well with watching what i'm eating...not so much with TRACKING what i eat but the thought is there! I can't believe Christmas is next week! In-sane!

So my computer took a nose dive yesterday and decided to get a nasty spyware....it took our very computer savy friend almost 2 hours to clean it up! Finally got it back up and working!

Today is finishing up the semester, i have two tests left! I can taste the sweet freedom! Then working on Christmas Cards and i'll spend the next two days finishing making gifts and then i actually have to work on Friday!

Well interesting news, I went to the doctor yesterday and they said their urine test was negative, so they took blood. I am feeling sick about all of this but I still have the five hpt with FMU that are positive. Waiting for them to call, it is so hard.

Alisa, your battery could be dying. Take your temp at another time of day and see what happens. If it's different, I wouldn't worry about it.

Just wanted to say that if it is negative I will know it is God's will.

Amanda....this is my biggest fear as well. However, just so you know this happened last time to me. I had a faint positive on several tests so I went into the office to confirm. The urine test was so faint they couldn't tell whether they were seeing a line or where the line should be so they sent me to get blood drawn. Just in case they had me do the blood test once and then again 2 days later to see if the hcg increased. It did. So don't be discouraged just yet. My heart goes out to you. :frown: I know how confusing and frustrating this can all be. I'll keep you in my prayers.

When did they say they will call?

Thanks Heather, how are you doing?

The nurse called me back and wouldn't give the results, she told me the doc will be in this afternoon and they will call then. I asked her if she had them and she was very nice but insisted he would call me, what does that mean? She has them or she doesn't.

    Hey all!

    Amanda, fingers crossed for you!

So my boss just offered me part time instead of full time, instead of me leaving completely (Full time is on the table, but I don't think I want it). Now I'm not sure what to do.

Money is always an issue for me, although with DH's new job and new raise it doesn'thave to be, and I'd get Unemployment Benfeits for a little while. Also, I could work casually at a nursing home, and volunteer at a few medical clinics and hospitals as well.

But I'm not good at leaving perfectly fine jobs behind. I don't get abused, although I don't really get treated wonderfully - I'm in a position that means I'm ignored by default (if that makes any sense). This position isn't high stress, which means school works with it. It's Mon - Fri, 830 - 430 and I can travel with my husband. All are really big perks.

Then again - extra time off to study, keep the house (unpack from the move in July would be nice!), be pregnant, get some casual clinical experience....

I know I'm lucky to have this decision to make, and some people would love to be where I am, but since I'm here and faced with the choice, I'm not sure what to do.

Can you ladies help? I'm not sure what to do. I need some input.

I would take the part-time offer. Then evaluate later whether I was getting everything done that I wanted to or not, but then I really like having extra money (which is entirely what my income is). But if you'd rather not work, then don't feel obligated to do so.

I hope the doctor gets back to you soon, Amanda.

As for me, I have a UTI. As I told the nurse, we tried WAY too hard this month. This is what I get for not getting up immediately after and going potty like a good little girl. Have I mentioned that I'm way over TTC?

Jalara- Take a look at what the company adds to the maternal package? I know mine tops up what the Govmt gives us and that’s a huge incentive.

I had considered that - they don't offer anything for people who aren't 'permanant' and I'm not. Only a handful are!

Jalara- I'd sit down with your husband and weigh all the pros and cons. If you aren't unhappy in the job and it gives you some time to do your other work then I'd say it sounds pretty good...but obviously there is something about it that is holding you back from taking the position.

Amanda- I'm doing ok. I'm having more and more pregnancy symptoms, some I didn't even know were pregnancy symptoms until I asked my friends and they said they definitely are (way tmi to say..lol!). I'd rather have some concrete answers but I know without a doubt I am pregnant. Now I just am anticipating finding out how far along I am and if everything is ok. Still praying for good news for you!

Erica- I've always had that confliction too...whether to jump right up and go potty or to lay down flat for 20 or so minutes to give the swimmers a better chance to get to their goal. UTI's are horrible...I'd recommend either drinking lots more water (what helped make me not get them anymore or the cranberry pills).

I took my temp after I was actually up and around and it was different. I'll try it again when I get home but it's relatively new so I hope it's not the battery!

Amanda and heather still praying for sticky babies! I hope you both get confirmation soon!!

Jalara - I always like having something to do so just switching from fulltime to part time would be ideal for me!

The nurse called, the blood test is positive with HCG level at 222. We are repeating the test tomorrow to make sure everything is rising. Please pray for me and my little one.

Oh I'm so happy for you! Isn't that nuts how some people can test with a strong positive the second they get pregnant (not literally obviously) but others have such a hard time getting a positive on a test even with a 222 blood hcg level? You'd think that it would definitely show up on a urine test at those levels. I know that it wouldn't be as strong...but at least half as strong! You will definitely continue to be in my prayers!

Amanda - yea!!!! I'm so happy for you. Sticky vibes to both you and Heather. You are both in my prayers.

Jalara - I'd probably stick with part time, but I like having extra money.

Erica - UTI's suck! I've only had one once, but that was enough.

I'm doing horrible this week so far. My only goal was to stay away from the chocolate and I have failed miserably. My mom just called to let me she fractured her foot at work, and has to wear a boot for the next week. So now my time (the little that I have left) will be spent helping her around the house. DH and I are helping my brother paint the new house so my mom and brothers can move, and also trying to get the old house up to code so it can be rented out. DH's Grandma (whom I ADORE) may have kidney problems......ugh, when it rains it pours. I'm trying my best to leave everything in God's hands, but it's very hard for a control freak like me.

Last week I started to have cramping on my right side. I got my hopes up thinking it might be ovulation cramps but never got a OPK so I'm not sure. They were very mild for a day or so, then got really intense then subsided again. I still have them on and off but very mild. I'm not sure I even O'd, but if I did would the cramps have lasted this long?

Just popping in here - the weather hasn't been good and I've been hibernating (I think something is going on hormonally again) - to say hi.

I'm hopeless....I just want to say that....It is so ridiculously impossible, but the second I start PMSing all my TTC issues come to the surface and I'm convinced I'm pregnant. I think I'm gearing up for my next round of AF, but at the same time, I've convinced myself that I'm preggers....although if I am, I must have ovulated on CD9....LOL Silly, I know....but then the spotting fits and with having to take the Provera in early November, who knows what that did to my cycle. I've promised myself I'm not testing until Sunday (at least). My Inlaws arrive for the holidays on Monday so I don't want to necessarily test with them in the house....that would be too stressful if it were positive and I would have to figure a way of telling my DH in private, since I wouldn't want to broadcast it yet. It doesn't help that right around that time, DH's surgery fixes would have been finalized so the main block from getting us pregnant (in my PCOS brain) is no longer an issue.

YAY to Amanda (again!). BOO to Erica...totally sucks.

Hey all - I"m taking a break until the new year.

I'll be sure to start the Jan thread so no worries there.

I wish you all the best of holidays! Good luck to those TTC and waiting for AF.

    Congrats to Amanda and Heather!

    Enjoy your break, Jalara.

Ron, I'm so sorry about everything that's going on, as if December isn't stressful enough! You could continue to cramp after O. I do sometimes, so I wouldn't count yourself out.

    Welcome, poeticpurl!

I'm feeling a little better. I'd probably be back to good if I hadn't waited until after 6 pm for my antibiotic yesterday... but it's just so handy to have my husband bring it home from work instead of getting it myself. Hopefully, tomorrow I'll feel great.
