Thank you for your kindness. I'm being totally bowled over by how nice runners are!!!! Must be all those endorphins!!!! The last two weeks of coughing and having a chest full of crap haven't helped one bit but you're right, it's defeat never to try. I can and I will!!!!0 -

5K this morning! I did beat my PB - my chip time said 28:35!
First 5K was last month and that was in 30:10.
The first mile was brutal. I think it had to be my slowest mile. I don't know it was just hard to breathe and there were so many people. Also I was standing at the starting line for about 20 minutes. I never saw the sign for the first mile time but when I saw the time for mile 2 I saw I was doing well so that gave me hope for mile 3. Mile 3 is always my fastest mile. And I even had energy to really sprint at the end. Because it was through the theme park it was a very twisty route.

5K this morning! I did beat my PB - my chip time said 28:35!

Been interesting reading the comments about the 5ks. Now that I've signed up to a 10k I started remembering the sight of the runners who did a 5k that I volunteered at a few months ago. They were stumbling over, gasping for breath and some were sick. What have I let myself in for???????? LOL0

New shoes seem to have helped. I also tried taping my shins with Kinesio tape; I guess it helped, but I can't rule out the placebo effect either.
