very proud of myself ... hubby and I went to a buffet (I had free coupons for both of us), and I did pretty good. I had a VERY large salad - and it did add up to a bit more calories than I thought once I added everything up - but still ok. And then I loaded up on seafood, and then had a very small taste of no sugar added pumpkin pie and whipped cream, and 1 vodka gimlet. I was feeling a bit deprived so being able to go out and eat well, and still be under calories for today felt good. Of course if I hadn't done an hour of step this morning I would have been over on calories because I used a lot of my exercise calories ... but that's ok. I needed it. :drinker:

As expected, I was over on calories on Friday and yesterday. Friday I was over maintenance by 450 cals, yesterday I was over maintenance by 100, so that's pretty good! Girls Night and BrewYork in the past, we're moving on to be "better".

It's frigid outside so I'm only leaving the apartment if I have to....and the gym currently isn't on my "have to" list! Oh well....

Hope you all have had a great weekend!

Finally going back to work tomorrow. I got Thurs. and Fri. off. It was wonderful. I wish I were independently wealthy!!!

Have a great week, sisters. Let's make this one count!

Who gave the challenge and what was it?

I struggled a bit tonight. I was ok calorie-wise, but ate more carbs than I'm supposed to for my nutrition plan. It was my niece's birthday party and she wanted mac and cheese and make-your-own pizzas. So there was nothing there without a lot of carbs. I knew that, and planned for it by not having many carbs earlier in the day - but I still had about twice as much as I had planned to do ... so that was a bummer.
On the other hand - I had a great workout day - I haven't gone to the Y on a Sunday in a long time and I did an hour of body pump and an hour of body step afterwards!

    Morning, ladies!

The birthday party went pretty well. It's interesting to see the youngest and how different she is with her mom than when she's with us. I'm glad the boyfriend's sister was there. I like her. We see eye-to-eye on a lot. While I did have two pieces of pizza at the party, I passed on cake and drank water. Woo!

Yesterday was not so successful regarding calories and eating. I didn't go over by THAT much, but I had brownies and ice cream.

Despite all that, I'm still seeing a 219 on the scale this morning!

This week we're back to "normal". I'm counting on that to get me back on the losing track so I can record a loss this Friday :)

And in other news.... GO PACK GO! :) It's so sad to see all of the rotten excuses (and Jay Cutler jersey burning) that is happening here in Chicago. I thought Browns fans were bad (my first/true football love). We PALE in comparison to the sore losers here (no offense if anyone is a Bears fan!)

    Checking in for weekend

calories: just over for both Saturday & Sunday
    water: 80+ for each day
exercise: does shivering in the below 0 temperatures count?
proud: I rested my knee without totally raiding the kitchen

    Check in for the weekend:
Calories: Under for both days (Saturday: - 142, Sunday: - 400+)
Water: Saturday- on target, 64 oz, Sunday- way under only 40 oz.
Exercise: Saturday - 40+ minutes, Sunday- two 30 minute walks
Proud: Even on the days that is seems as though everything is going wrong, I still am able to keep up with my workouts. Hubby, found many reasons not to go workout for the past week, and had tried to talk me out of going as often (says I should only be going 3 days week), he even used the words: "I think you're addicted to working out", I thought that to be rather ironic. But right now, I would rather be addicted to working out than other not so healthy lifestyle alternatives.

GO Pack GO!! Haha..that's just for you Cris I'm sorry I can't help it. I'm only a Packer fan when the Cowboys aren't playing. Otherwise I hate the Packers.

On a much more exciting note, for me that is..I'm in the home stretch!! I'll be Mexico bound in days! I cannot freaking wait!!!! Must workout everyday this week!! Gonna be tuff working all day then hitting the gym and trying to get everything together by this weekend but I can and I will make it all work!

Julie-Congrats on the 2nd interview! I really don't think you being pregnant should be an issue. They obviously like you and they should take you whether or not you are pregnant or not! Crossing my fingers for you!

Blue-I sent you an email. Hope I sent it to the right email addy! haha..so glad you aren't giving up on yourself!! WE LOVE YOU!

lstpaul-I cannot even begin to tell you how proud I am that you didn't go to your favorite restaurant at all! That is awesome! your making such great changes I know they are going to stick this time! So sorry to hear about your son! That says so much that he finished the race anyways. He's a fighter!

Jenn-So sorry you had a rough weekend with PMSing..I was right there with you on Sunday. I don't remember who it was that said they bawled watching Teen Mom 2 but I was right there with y'all yesterday!

Jess, I'm so excited for you and your vaca!! You're going to have a great time.
Julie, hope your appointment goes well today. Was this the "early" learn the sex appt? Also, I agree that you do NOT need to share that you are pregnant with the interviewer. I totally understand that you feel like you should or else you're dishonest, but I don't think you need to worry about that at all. '
ADG, not to immediately side with your hubby, but how much are you working out? You should probably give yourself at least one rest day a week. If he says 3 days/week is obsessed, he's crazy.
ladeb, great work on the water this weekend! I always have a tough time getting in the water I need on the weekend.
Teresa, good work at the b'day party! Great choices!
Veronica, I can't imagine how awful it is upstate! Brr.....
Looks like we're going to have a serious showdown here for the Super Bowl = Cris vs. Teresa/Jess!

    Checking in from yesterday:
Cals - Over by 383, under maintenance!
Water - Under, 32 oz = no good!
Exercise - I loaded in and loaded out stuff for church. Lots of tables and other things. I'm actually sore today!
Proud - Last night I made up my lunches for the week (beans, rice, and sausage - nice and wintery, but a sodium bomb I'm sure!) and cut up celery and carrots to snack on.

Jess: If the Dallas 3 Day is the first week of November, I definitely can't do it. I'm supposed to (fingers crossed) be going to a conference in Lexington, KY for my volunteer work. It's horse country capital there!

Nancy: Glad you're hanging in there with us. I've got your addy so if you go MIA on us, I'll also be hunting you down.

Julie: Congrats on being called in for a second interview. I agree with Allison; do NOT mention the pregnancy until after an offer has been made an accepted. Don't give up a chance at career advancement!

lstpaul: Great job on avoiding the sub shop and staying in check at the buffett! Oh, and I LOVE pickles in ham and cream cheese. So good.

Theresa: You're a braver woman than I am, going to a party with the boyfriend's ex. I haven't even met my boyfriend's ex wife because I can't fake being nice to someone and I think she's pretty useless as a person and especially as a mother. I can't respect someone like her, so I've just avoided meeting her. It helps that they do separate birthdays for his son so the families don't have to mingle.

This weekend was a really nice weekend, but I went over on food. The frustrating thing was that I was doing great until yesterday and then lack of pre-planning threw me WAY off course. Needless to say, I'm over my weekly points by a lot again, all because I was terrible one day. Boo! At least my WW week restarts tomorrow and I can move forward. Hopefully the scale won't be too cruel because of it, though.

Lilspy: I don't think you should mention the pregnancy yet either. It is a tough one, because you feel like you should be honest ... but since they aren't supposed to discriminate against you because of it - you have no obligation to tell them either. Once you accept the job, then you can tell them that you want to be upfront and let them know that you are pregnant, but didn't say anything before because you knew it couldn't have any bearing on the hiring process. Good luck!

    checking in for yesterday:
calories: good - but had more carbs than I was supposed to
exercise: GREAT! - 2 hours at the Y - pump and step
    water: good - around 90oz
proud: that I'm sticking with this
step this morning was hard since it is the 3rd day in a row ... and I did pump (weight lifting) yesterday too ... my quads are KILLING me! but it is good pain.

ADG, not to immediately side with your hubby, but how much are you working out? You should probably give yourself at least one rest day a week. If he says 3 days/week is obsessed, he's crazy.

I do give myself one day a week off and two days I do a condensed workout. When we met, we were both in HS and very athletic, over the years workouts for the both of have disappeared and this time I am more consisten than he so most days, even if he is not going I still do, so from his prespective, if I am not at work or home, I am at the Y and usually not for more than an hour but total time away from home is close to two hours because of distance from home. That's why he should go with me immediately after work during the week. :-)

Good luck adgrissom getting your hubby to the gym with you. I've been trying for YEARS to get my husband to go with me and he just won't do it. But now he signed up for an exercise goal at work and has been walking or biking at home for the last few weeks - hopefully he will keep it up and eventually decide he would like to go to the Y with me. But I guess it has to be their own idea.

After talking to a billion people and obsessing all weekend, I decided to wait until a written offer is made. Then, I'll discuss my pregnancy with the hiring manager & gauge her reaction about it. If she's overly tense or obviously disappointed, I may turn the job down. I don't want to work with a supervisor who's holding a grudge. But I think I've been thinking it's a much bigger deal than it really is. They know I'm a woman. And they can easily assume I'm within child-bearing years. If I wasn't pregnant now, I could get pregnant 2 weeks after accepting the job and it would be the same situation. So, I really don't think it's going to be a problem. And if the hiring manager is crazy enough to make it a problem, then I probably don't want to work for her anyway, right?

I also hate that they want to call my supervisor as soon as they talk with me tomorrow. I'm going to ask them to give me the courtesy of telling her first before they call her and to not call her unless they're sure they're going to be making me an offer.
My supervisor has jury duty tomorrow so I'm going to have plenty of time to freak out about what I'm going to say to her until she shows up for work.

If they offer me as much money as I asked for on the application (and if they dont, why are they wasting everyone's time here?), there is simply no way my current job could match it without creating a new position for me & giving me additional responsibilities. People in this department really aren't paid enough & I was told when I started that they couldn't start me at more than their other HR specialists were making. I only make like $800/year less than some of them who have been here a longer and who are 25 years older. :ohwell: Not really my problem. I'm pretty sure I'll be taking the new job if it's offered. And I'm pretty sure I'm REALLY EFFING EXCITED about it.
Anyway, I've obsessed enough about it & my mind is made up. Thanks for all your advice!! It really helped a lot. :flowerforyou:

Lauren -- Yes, today is the sex determination ultrasound that some people think may be too early. I've scoured the internet for pics & it seems it could be very obvious if it's a boy. But less obvious of it's a girl. So, I'm hoping for a proud, obvious, show-off of a boy just so we know for sure today! But I still have a funny feeling I'm cooking a little lady (and the 3 humongous ZITS on my face would agree). I guess we'll (hopefully) find out in a couple of hours!

Julie-I think you have a good plan attack! I so hope you get offered the job! Sounds like quite the opportunity for you! Good luck today on finding out the sex of the baby!

Heather- I'll look up the 3 Day and give you the dates here in a few minutes! Would be so awesome if we could get some people together to do it!

lstpaul-2 days at the Y!? Great job!!

I know there were more but I didn't take notes and I forgot! I did read them though. Sorry! I'm still half asleep here at work!! I'm in vacation mode already and can't concentrate!!! My streak will be gone as of Sunday morning. BOOO!!!
