Damn! That is loads of exercise. But with your willpower and the support here i am sure you are going to make it!

Rhodenizer: Big welcome!! Hope you'll like it and no one could have presented this group in a better way than Jen did. I'm Hanna, from sweden. 26 years young ;) and I mostly walk (or have done so). Now i mix things up a bit with Zumba and Jillian Michaels 30 day Shred. I finished day 3 today and it is so much fun to see the improvements in these few days. Maybe you can give Claire (chiliflea) what you weighed this monday and if you know what you weighed last monday that would be great!

Warm welcome to Rhodenizer! You're certainly in the right place! We've all got varying amounts of weight to lose and enjoy various types of exercise...
I'm Claire, 31 from Wales and kind of the unofficial secretary so I'm the numbers girl! So far I've lost 35lbs since January 17th.... I enjoy going to the gym and going for walks with my family, but I like dancing too so have just bought wii zumba and have borrowed just dance 2!
Feel free to dip in and out of any challenges we do - or modify them in any way...
Be great to be able to add you to the spreadsheet so if you could possibly send me...
    Weight on 28/03
    Weight on 04/04
and what you're goal weight for the 20/06 will be...

Queenstatus it would be great if I could have those details for you too so I can add them to the spreadsheet...

As a little "get to know you" I thought it would be fun if we all posted the origins of our screen names?

Chiliflea - I'm a massive Red Hot Chili Peppers fan and Flea is my God! Simples! What about all of you?!

    TTFN!
  • Hmm... Yeah. Hanna is my name and Styrbjörn is my parents last name. No one in my family seems to know when we got that last name (it is known that we had a different last name like 100 years ago) from and the stories differ. In one it was given to us from the king (!?) himself because thay couldnt have to with the same last name in that military company.... makes no sense at all but it is kinda fun! In viking-swedish Stybjörn means wayward bear!

Had to make some interesting story about it, right!

    Morning All.
jellyfishjen...came from my brothers who are mad fisherman, one is know as barramundi brad the other garfish gary. And I wanted a special name too jellyfish was the only sea creature I could think of at the time that started with J. and it suited my jelly belly.
Husband leaves shortly for a world (ish) trip. So jealous. Its for his work. he is going to America, LA and other places. Then to London and Brussells. 17 days.

Jen - I'm pretty jealous of your husband too! What does he do to be able to travel so extensively?

queenstatus. Awseom goals I know you can reach them.

Jen - I am jealous of your hubby too. I LOVE London. I owuld move there if i could.

I am loving the screen name stories.

fuhrmeister is my madien name. it is of german origin and very uncommoin in the US. The roughly mean master or driving hoarse drawn carrages. The story is that my ancestor help teh prince get his hoarse drawn carrage out of the mud it was stuck in and the Prince called him Fuhrmeister.

43 cals shy of my 500 cal goal yesterday. The zumba instructor decided to do zumba sculpt last night....not what i wanted i needed a cardio work out last night. i left 15 min in and got on the treadmill for incline intervals instead so i came up a litte short but still got teh cardio I needed.

Well I tried the wii zumba.... Now I have a HORRENDOUS headache and funny vision... Too much too soon?
  • hi gals!

Got a bit of a problem... It's about where i can fit in my 30 DS. The problem is first of all i live on the 4th floor in the city. With a lot of jumping included in the workout and me not being tiny as a mosquito I cant do the workout at all times (if ever really?!). Now mom is home sick for two months and I dont really wanna workout in front of her (or anyone else) So when can I do the workout? Late nights or early mornings are my only options. So the question is if you as a neighbour would like an elephant jumping about in the morning or in the night? Or should I just modify the workout so it is apartment-adapted?

Take care and have a fanatic thursday!

Hanna, talk to your neighbours, You may be surprised to find that they can't hear you jumping about at all.

Jesus Christ woman! I'm Swedish, we don't talk to people we don't know! lol But I might just do that. Problem is that I have a hottie living under me and sorry to say but I am just not that confident yet :embarassed:

Ha ha ha! Maybe it could be an ice breaker!
  • Well, I found out on the way to the store that the hottie has a girlfriend. Or maybe he is living with his sister but that is not very credible...

Today has been AWESOME!! I have burned at least 500 calories every day this week, with today being 1551 so far. I am ecstatic about it!! The weather was finally good today once it quit raining....tank top and no jacket kind of weather. Took my dogs to our local dog park for some exercise and fun time. Spent time with a friend and her kids. And just burned a lot of calories!!

This group has inspired me so much that I started a group for those over 300 pounds. I have 4 others in the group so far and excited to see the progress of each. I am so motivated right now and can honestly say I am happier now than I have ever been....well other than the day my daughter was born and the day I got married that is.

Starting this journey at 375 and now being down to 333.8 (the lowest I've been in over 4 yrs has so boosted my esteem and my desire to keep going on this journey. It is amazing to me how far I have come both emotionally and physically in this short time. And my doctor was astounded yesterday when I saw him and he saw that I have lost 43 pounds. All he could say was, "that is amazing. Do you think you'll be able to keep it off this time?" I assured him I will because I have finally worked through all the emotional garbage that is the core of my overeating.

    Have a great evening all!!

I just got caught up on reading the posts.....good job everyone and love the stories of screen names. My screen name is idahogirl71 because I was born, raised, and have always lived in Idaho (United States). And I was born in 1971. Real original huh?!? I use this name everywhere....e-mail, school, work, you name it.

Reading that was really inspirational! And makes me even more determined to do it this time and to keep it off! This group is amazing hey... so supportive and makes you feel like you can achieve anything!

    Congratulations!!!
  • Hello peeps!

I'm happy to say that i'm running on about 75% capacity today! Hurray! Had to walk my DS to school so have used that for my exercise for the day - don't want to do too much too soon in case I relapse! Will do some of the chores that have built up during my sickness so that will be a bit more activity that I probably won't log as I'm not sure how much I'll eat today anyway - will probably get the "eating too few calories" message again this evening - it'll be the 4th time this week oops!

Everyone is doing so well with the 500 cals a day challenge! Wish I could join in!

As I have so much time on my hands from not exercising I thought I'd do a little top 10 on highest % loss this week (a la Biggest loser!)

    1. Chiliflea 2.9%
    2. Hannastyrbjorn 1.54%
    3. Alw2007 1.28%
    4. Idahogirl75 1.23%
    5 Calliope_music 1.21%
    6. Rachypompa 1.16%
    7. sjc04562 1.01%
    8. fuhrmeister 0.9%
    9. poorcopies 0.53%
    10 jellyfishjen 0.36%

I don't think i should be up there really as it wasn't down to hard work like the rest of you but that's how the top 10 stands...

    Well done to you all!

Thanks for doing this, it is very motivating! Doubt I will make the top again, but I love it. Keep up the good work everyone.

Sorry I've been gone for a few days! I'd like to say I was making great progress, but that wasn't the case... I haven't been getting anywhere near to 500 cal burn lately, but I've got a few days left this week to turn things around!

I love reading about how you all got your user names! Great background stories!!

Mine is my name, and my goal weight. :indifferent: That's it.

Hanna... Night is probably better than early morning. If it's before 11pm, I don't think people can legally complain about you making noise. Also, you can modify the jumping/noisy moves for apartment use. I do all my moves on a really flat mat, which mutes a lot of the noise for the people below me. I don't want to workout in front of anyone either.

ok.... so i felt better, then i felt worse again... What is this illness?! It lulls you into a false sense of wellness and then BAM! you feel crap again!
So no exercise for me today... I feel like I've let myself down but at the same time I really couldn't face it... Will stay within my cals though so that's something I guess...
Just wish my brain would stop trying to escape through my eyes! IT would make day to day living so much more pleasurable...

So I'm admitting defeat for this week... I'm writing it off as a bad exercise week but I have kept in my cals (which mfp recalculated and I'm not down to 1450) so it's not a total disaster...

Back to the gym next week and will get back into it all 100% as I'll surely be better by then... right?!

Sorry for being so crap girls.... You've all done amazing this week... So proud of you all xxx
  • *CHUFFED. seriously, the auto-correct on my iPad is the bane of my life!

    Have you visited www.damnyouautocorrect.com? lol

And claire, I know you give it a 110% when you are well. It is okay to listen to your body and wait till you get better. If you push it too hard you might end up injured. And no one of us want that to happen! Rest and let your OH take care of you!
