Just wanted to wish all the mothers and grandmothers out there a very happy mother's day...hope you have a day filled with love & laughter.
I've had a very busy bittersweet week. I graduated from Loma Linda Cardiac Rehab so I won't have to drive all the way out there anymore which will save me lots of time & gas but I will miss all my new friends there. Also now I have to take everything they taught me and do it on my own now but I have all of you to help and encourage me so I'm not truly alone.
I also saw my cardiologist this week and got the results of my heart scan last week. It is much better...he was very pleased. My heart has shrunk in size, my BP is down, my pulse is down, and my ejection fraction is up to 40% (normal is 60-70) which is much better than it was in January (25%). So I am living proof that you can improve your health with proper diet and exercise. I need to get blood work done still but I'm sure it's better now, too. Finally after two years of struggling, I seem to be on the right track.
I haven't done so well this week though. The scale seems to be stuck. I think I need to exercise more to break through so that is my goal for next week. It looks like you all are doing so well and I love your jokes and your flowers...makes me wish I had a garden but I live in an apartment so no garden for now.
Well...better head off to bed...once again "Happy Mother's Day" to you all :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:0 -
Donna that's brilliant news and you have done so well and can say you did it all yourself so a big, big hug. Sounds as if you are determined to continue the healthy lifestyle so I wouldn't worry too much about the sticky scales, it could just be water retention. I hope your walk around the neighbourhood is a pleasant one. Wherever we are there's always something interesting to see if we just raise our heads and open our eyes, so enjoy!!

These are some CARE BEARs that I crocheted many many years ago and sold them at work.0 -
Happy Mothers' Day everybody! Haven't the vaguest idea of calories involved in the First Watch Mothers'Day special crepe, so I just won't list today's food. This is officially my Lost Week! However, I'm down another pound, and tomorrow I'll get myself in tow again and find some discipline!
Also, my computer went crazy, and entered a diagnostic mode, found nothing wrong, but wouldn't log off properly. I hope it didn't pick up a virus, so I'd better scan!

here is a recipe I found in an old WW cookbook I try it the other day and like it much better than greek yogurt
Will post it in our Sneakers recipe.
Weight Watchers Recipe
Yogurt Cheese Greek Yogurt
This cheese is extraordinarily versatile, substituting for cream cheese and for sour cream; you'll find it used in several recipes.
Makes 4 Servings
3 cups plain nonfat yogurt - no gelatin in yogurt
Spoon the yogurt into a coffee filter or cheese-cloth line sieve; place over a bowl. Refrigerate, covered with plastic wrap, several hours. Discard the liquid.
Per serving: 73 calories, 0 g total fat, 0 g Saturated fat, 2.5 mg Cholesterol, 86 mg Sodium, 8 g Total carbohydrate, 0 g Dietary Fiber, 9 g Protein, 249 mg Calcium. Points per serving 1 (not points plus)
Tip: the longer you drain the yogurt cheese, the thicker it will be - for sour cream consistency, drain 6-8 hours; for cream cheese consistency, drain about 24 hours. Have not figure out how much yet How much is!/4 of the recipe . I Better go to google. i did go to google but Didn't didn't tell me a thing?
draing all the whey out of Yogurt take most of the sodium out.0 -

Jeri, the crocuses are such a welcome sign of spring up north. Enjoy!
Jake!!! OMG!!!:grumble: :grumble: :grumble:
Barbie, I'll settle for Chinese food anytime!
Gayla, if anyone has earned a Happy Mothers Day, it's you! Hope it was a good one!
Donna, the scale will move eventually, but the rest of your report is fabulous! Ya don good, ole gal!

Judy, that was so cute, out of the mouths of babes!
Sandy, i enjoyed yours and Jakes as well!
Hope you have all had a good day. Knowing many of you well enough to know that you deserve this special day!
Maddie, this year may be a sad Mothers Day, but by next year, I hope this day will be filled with good memories for you and your family.
we miss you
Irene, we miss you too! Hope you are having a happy day.
gayla, you are wished the best of everything, today and always! So glad you are getting a new kitchen to enjoy!
buzz, isnt it funny that technology is becoming overwhelming to the point that we need help understanding our appliances! Lol, have fun!
I think it is author JD Robb, aka Nora Roberts, whose female futuristic character just enters what she wants and it shows up in her fridge. Now that is cool! Bet you still have to pay for it.
Peeeeuuuuuuw! We are behind a smelly cow truck, Im going to put my head under the covers until we get away from that smell!0 -
Sandy, How did you know that's how i entertain myself?0
-
Hooray everyone had a good Mothers Day. I did. Judy, loved the jokes.0
-
Good morning:
I hope everyone had a lovely Mother's Day.
I went out for breakfast with my husband and then we bought some dwarf lilac bushes to
replace my rose bushes which had root rot. He got me a lovely basket of plants and flowers for MD.
We went to see my daughters and son-in-law and went out for dinner. My gifts from my
daughters were a chocolate fondue and a bucket of margaritas which you freeze and two
margararita glasses. Not good for weight loss but I know I will have fun this summer.
Now back to work and reality. Still trying to get to my next level in weight loss and having a plateau
right now. Up only .8 ounces from yesterday. Will have that off by the end of the week.
Buzz : Good Luck with your computer, I hope you don't have a virus.
Phoebe: Love those flowers they are beautiful.0 -
Donna, congrats on a good 'report card'! You have worked for it and earned it. So many things make your weight loss stall, it'll move, just not fast enough to satisfy our desires!
buzz, you go girl! Another pound down, I think your low sodium is doing wonders for you.
I'm forever grateful to you for Trader Joes! The pnut butter, and the hi fiber cereal are winners for me, and I'll go back for more.
Barbie, you two look so happy in your profile pic, babies are cuties, are they best friends?
mRie, well, you know much more than I do about it, but my guess is your weight gain is all in your feet and ankles. When do you visit your doctor?
Barbs, we are still missing you
have a great week everyone!0 -
I know my swelling has got a lot to do with it. I found the WW plus plan in Woman world. I am working on a plan for it and get my supplies in.They have 3 breakfast, 3 lunch. nd 3 dupper to choose from and 6 snacks to choose from 2 or 3 times a day. Seem to be pretty simple.Of course all the veggies and fruit you want. You don't have to count your points Just eat what they say.Who could beat that. i am going to have one of their breakfst for lunch. today. I am drinking some crytal light green te today. . I have already got 5 glasses of water in.
Is that 5 lbs you lost just recently. If so you are rocking girl. You and Judy got to get me rocking.0 -
Hello,
Donna - I just hear about your post, great news from your report, that is so awesome.
Judy - Great joke, children are so precious.
Jake - Good joke, my husband loved it.
Elli - Hope you get to used the stroller sounds like its perfect.
Hope everyone is doing well and had a great Mother's Day.

One of the pictures my gandughter took in St. Louis
She is gettin pretty good. ut part of her job is to take pictures of spoeting event for the radio station she works at.0 -
I think those Care bears are the cutest things since Winnie the Pooh! You did a great job on them. How long did it take to make one?
Is that zinnias. I love them! They grow so easily, and such bright colors. Sometimes I just open a bag of potting soil, dump it on the ground, then sprinkle several packs of zinnia seeds on it. Makes an easy cut flower source. I have a spot for them if we get home to plant it.
shirley, I love lilacs, planted on in the backyard, so far it bloomed one year. It is growing strong, so, flowers or not, I like it.Mothers Day coincides with spring and flowers, do you think it was planned that way by some smart men? Lol!, probably florists!
Marie, I think the five lbs is total on mfp, not weight watchers. About three on weight watchers since I last logged in there. Will update either way when I weigh at home. Should be home by Thursday or Friday.
thats interesting that they put the plan in the mag without having to use the points. Hope all of you are well, not flooding. Or parched! Lol0 -
Hello ladies, back from job #2, warm day, nice to have for a change. Laid on my back all day Saturday to give it a rest, read a QuickBooks 2010 manual, seems like a good program to have, except I don't need the business end of it. Sunday I picked up Cash manager, by quick books, seems more of what I need and can use. So I will be hunting for that manual.
Bought new uniforms and shoes for the #3 job yesterday, got a good deal. Hope all is well here, I am in and out, nothing much to say since I am not doing too much.
Catch you ladies sometime again in the week, this is the 49 hour week so I have little time at home.

Connie my grandughter has a bird nest like yours or what ever it is call. She has a new camera took some amzing shots of her dogies running.

Hello...it's Monday evening and my mother's ashes have been laid to rest. Service was very nice and all of her favorite people were there. Thank you for all of your thoughts, prayers and messages of encouragement.
I confess that the way I made it thru was by eating vanilla ice cream. :frown: Almost all food tasted like dirt....but tomorrow, I'm getting on the scale, I will report the gain  and move on.
I have not been able to keep up on the board. Could you all give me an update of the highlights going on in your lives so I can jump back in...:noway:
Gotta go now, very tired... Like Scarlett O'Hara said...."Tomorrow is another day"...
Maddie :glasses:0 -
MADDIE, so good to see you back! It's tough getting used to , but you are and have been a real trouper, and the icecream will disappear shortly. It may have been your main comfort, and don't most of us need that once in a blue moon? Stay well now!
PHOEBE, those lilies are gorgeous, as is the flower picture MARIE's grandaughter shot!
MARILYN, I'm afraid to ask....Just how many jobs are you juggling? And weight is a problem for you??? :noway:
MARIE, I think I've asked why on earth you aren't wearing compression knee socks. Sounds like my problem when I don't wear mine! Mine are 30/40 compression, and you need a prescription for them, and Medicare will pay for 2 pair a year. I get the ones with the silicone band on top, and mine are made by JUZO.. Ask your doctor if they'd help. dear. My legs are slim now!
SHIRLEY, it seems Comcast was working on the lines in my area (I learned today), and internet transmission was screwed up! I did my anti virus scan, my Ad-Aware, Registry Mechanic, and Malwarebytes scans all last night, and I'm clean!!! And it IS working today!
GIGI and JERI, glad you had a nice Mothers Day...separate, of course!!!
DONNA, I hope I congratulated you on coming along so far! That's a wonderful Medical Center, too, so you've picked the best!
JACKIE, do you celebrate Mother's Day?
I think the refrigerator is finally ready, but the waater doesn't seem to get as cold from the dispenser as we were used to. Perhaps it isn't ready yet. Florida's pipes are not very far below the surface, as it's all coral down below. When it comes out of the faucet, sometimes it can wilt the lettuce as I wash it! Never had water that warm before, and after 17 years, I'm still not used to it! My teeth used to freeze from the cold water in New England! Have a good evening, everyone!
Buzz0 -
Maddie glad to see you back.0

It didn't take long Phoebe, I didn't save my pattern for them Wish i did.0
