  • Hi, can i join you guys? I started today, just done 7miles in 1hour 40mins, walking and some jogging.
I'm planning on doing an hour at least 4 times a week, slowly increasing my jogging and decreasing my walking. Would love to be able to run the whole way, some day I will

    How's everyone's running going?

I ran a couple of times last week, but am trying to add more variety to my workouts with classes. My foot has been killing me and I think it's from running. When I took a couple of weeks off from running it was feeling better, but now it's starting to bother me again.

I have no idea what's wrong with it, but I don't want to stop running :( I probably won't run until the end of this week, so hopefully it will feel better by then.
  • I ran 1.5 miles yesterday after lifting. Ran at a pretty good pace for me, too: 10:41/mile.

Jill - hope your foot gets better soon. I have problems with my hips when I run. For months it was my right hip.... finally after about 6 months that cleared up and I was good for about 2 months. Now I'm feeling that exact same pain but in my left hip. Soooo not happy about that.

Great job on your runs to everyone!

jilld-Have you been fitted for shoes at a running store or a doctor? It could just be that your shoes aren't fitted to your running style. I used to have pain all over, even though I was wearing good Nike running shoes...they weren't fit to the way I run. At a running store, they will usually watch you run, watch the way your foot lands, even look at the angles of your legs and ankles then give you 2-3 pairs made for your running style (I overpronate, which is more common that most people think). I hope it something that simple and not something serious!

I did the week 9 long run on Sunday (54 minutes). It was kind of tough. I was visiting family and have no idea how far I ran in those 54 minutes and that would have been nice to know. Of course, I'm now in the final week of the OHR program. Doing my 30 minute run today with some high knees, buttkickers, and bounding drills mixed in.

    Happy runs everyone!

Thanks girls! I actually did get fitted for running sneakers about 6 months or so ago.

The pain in my foot is kind of under the base of my big toe, in that bump of the foot under the big toe. It started before I got my new sneakers and I thought the new sneakers would help, but they haven't. It's been bothering me for awhile, but seems like it's getting worse. It doesn't really hurt when I'm running, but afterwards, it kills.

And now, I've noticed there is something wrong with the heel of one of my sneakers, it's now rubbing when I run and making my heel blister. The heel of my sneaker is all bloody, it's so gross! So, I think I may need to get new ones :(

Great job on your runs girls!
  • Had a good run today! Ran 2.41 miles at 10:50 pace which is excellent for me! And Saturday I took my dog for a quick run and ran my first ever 10 minute mile. YAY! I haven't been running as much as I should, so I have to credit my running improvements to the weight lifting I've been doing. My stride has changed and is now longer and feels better to me. Must be because my legs are stronger from lifting.
  • Anybody out there?

I took a little time off from exercise last week because of my foot and I have a feeling I might not be running for awhile :(

I did some research online and I think what I might have is sesamoiditis. It started when I was doing C25K and has just continued to get worse. I bought some new shoes for work today, instead of heels and also bought some cushions for the ball of your foot, which is where the pain is. I'm hoping between those 2 things and if I lay off of running for awhile, that it will get better. I'm going to try it for a week or two and see how it goes and if it doesn't start to get better I'm going to have to go to the doctors.

One of the solutions was having to wear a boot or a cast!!! As if not being able to run wasn't bad enough, I may not even be able to work out! I really hope it doesn't come to that because when I don't work out, my whole life gets turned upside down.

    I'll keep checking in!

I started C25k but had to stop it due to it just being too much weight on my joints. After I get off a few more pounds and a bit fitter doing elliptical, treadmill, lifting weights, etc., I want to start it up again. I'd like to do One Hour Runner after I finish it but I can't find the program anywhere. The link posted in the OP is broken. Can someone send me a link to the program? Thanks!
