    Okay so hi again!

Today was err...okay. My neck has stopped hurting..but now its my lower back! That started Friday and has just got worse, now the pain runs down my leg to my knee! Ive talked with the insurance company and things are being handled- I take my car to the body shop on Thursday and get my rental car. I meet with the agent tomorrow afternoon to go over my injury claim. Yuck.. I may go to the urgent clinic and just get them to look at me, bc the insurance company says more than likely I will be referred to a chiropracter or to physical therapy. Sooo.. more than likely that will knock me out of work and exercise for the next few weeks. We shall see!!

    so today foodwise:
bfast: fiber one cereal, egg whites
lunch: antipasto salad and tom/basil soup
    dinner: leftover antipasto salad

exercise: none as of yet..waiting until I see a doc!

I havent responded to some of the other posts yet, but Im not ignoring I will respond later I promise!! GTG for now, see what the doc has to say!!

  • Katy, let us know how the doctors appointment goes. I'll be sending up good thoughts for a good report. :)

Kristin....I can pass up most foods if they aren't offered to me...but if someone offers, I HATE turning people down. I feel like its offending them. Which I really need to get over it...but when someone thinks to include me, I think i need to say yes...I know I know...lame!!!

Wow Chipper 1550 calories...yikes! Nice action!! Oh, and I'm going to have to seek out those potatoes!! RAW RAW..GoooooOOOOO Chipper! Number One YOU are Number One!!

OHHH have you guys heard of those Pringles Stix? Oh my...the honey butter ones...they come in little 90 calories bags....ohhh....sooooo gooood!!!!

So I was thinking as I was walking to the bathroom for the 10 millionth time today...wouldn't it be cool if I reached my goal by my 4th wedding anniversary. Its March 19th and that is like 26 weeks away. So TOTALLY doable. I think if we just keep doing these smaller/shorter challenges we can all reach our goals in NO TIME!

    Super excited!!!

kistin what will you be doing in the new job?

Well...I will be working in a tissue culture lab for Pioneer Hi-Bred so will be culturing tissue from corn plants and moving it around from different media as it grows and then sending to different groups within the company and all over the world. I'm pretty excited because the position that I've been in has been temporary and I would be let go this coming January. This is a position I've been in since I graduated...so I've been waiting on the so-called "real" job. So...this new one will be a lot of sitting...in fact more than I'm doing now because it all must be sterile (so in a fume hood in the lab). The other work I will be doing will probably be computer work. Other than that, I don't know...but I'm sure I will keep you gals updated on how it goes. Still don't know when I will start...but I'm sure I'll find out next week when they call me "formally." The only thing I'm scared of is the hours, which are very flexible, but when I'm initially training (which I have no idea how long this will take) I don't know if I will get off in time to make my normal classes at the gym. But I won't worry too much yet...not until I find out more.

I will have to look into these...sounds REALLY good! 90 calories for a cup is not bad at all...and if it's easy to make...PERFECT! Thanks for sharing!

Yeah...I understand! I'm the same way...like I'll offend them AND I'll love it! I need to get more self-control....something I'm trying to work on!
OHHH have you guys heard of those Pringles Stix? Oh my...the honey butter ones...they come in little 90 calories bags....ohhh....sooooo gooood!!!!

  • OMG you are way too cute Kristin! hehehe

Oh and guess what!!! That cookie wasn't as bad as I thought....YES! Only 130 calories and 7 grams of fat YEEEHAW!!!! Sandi (the gal who brought them in) said I could have another, but I said :noway:

So I have a question for you ladies about eating the exercise calories...do you eat them? I printed off the article that Banks wrote and will read it tonight...but I am going to have a very hard time eating mine if I workout everyday...at least fill those calories with GOOD food and not sure it as an excuse to have a McChicken sandwich or something...

    Thanks Cass!:blushing:

Well...I usually do a pretty good job of eating all my calories. I never used to but found that it was easier for me to put weight back on. So...started eating them all and find now that it's easier for me to lose whatever I may gain. Coincidence? Who knows. But the people who usually give this advice have been very successful in weight loss...so I'm trying it this go round. There are days I am under and also days I'm over. It's finding the balance that I think is key. Just my opinion. But yes...it is probably better to fill those excess calories with healthy food...althought ALL our calories SHOULD be from healthy food. I tend to allow myself something sweet to keep my sanity! HUGE sweet tooth! What do the rest of you think?

    BTW...good topic Cass!

Cass, I do my best to eat my exercise cals too. When I don't there's trouble. Although maybe no one should take advice from plateau girl right now lol

    I love the cheerleading :glasses:

Kristin, great that you don't have to worry about your job expiring!!

Okay, my poor kids.. I've been working so much today. Too much computer time!! I'm getting ready for this trade show in 1.5 weeks and I am so swamped.

Chatty today!! Love it. Cass, you're in WA? I'm on Vancouver Island...

    Alright. Up, up and AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!..........

Yes, cutting the grass is pretty good in burning the cals. I just got back from a 30 min. bike ride and that was only 169 cals.

I will not weigh again until tue. ok maybe mon. or tue.

I eat pretty close to all my cals. including the exercise ones. I do try to stay just below that number.

Have a good night everyone. Over and out.

    AH!
That is for sure the worst time of year for me..the holidays! Starting with Halloween!! But I did have a lil moment today..we were on the square in this lil town where my insurance office is..and Joey (my daughters dad) took our daughter to the candy shop while I dealt with the insurance.. I went and met them and as we were walking past the candy shop window I saw oh yum..all these different kinds of fudges and tasty treats..and I was thinking..one wont hurt, and Ive been doing really well and no big splurges lately foodwise..then I saw my reflection in the window. I wasnt grossed out, or anything.. I was actually pretty happy but I thought to myself..you know, I havent trimmed down by eating fudges and stuff like that- and wouldnt I rather spend the money on something more tangible....And that was that. No guilt, no resentment for choosing not to eat it.. I just made the decision and moved on.

Cutting the lawn, actually just trimming the edges with the hand mower 1 acre hilly took 36 minutes and burned 340 calories. My husband loves this, because now I do the hard part, he just has to ride the tractor.

Thats awesome! I love love love to cut the grass! And not with a riding mower either! All push for me  Great job Deb!!

Chipper- your dinner sounded AWESOME!! I love salmon!!

Kristin- Congrats on the new job!!! That deserves a new outfit

Okay so went to the doc and she believes it is a pinched or aggravated schiatic nerve. She put me on a steroid, 2 diff muscle relaxers- one for day one for night- and a different pain pill(darvocet). She is also putting in a order for a complete physical therapy evaluation and treatment if needed..So I will have a PT appt sometime tomorrow, Thur or Fri. She also said for me to continue exercise as tolerated  so I was happy about that!! She said that PT will give me further instructions as to the rest...!!

Thanks everyone for the positive thoughts and concerns  Hopefully everything will be back to normal in a few weeks!!

Okay well Im going to study and do some HW! May check in a lil bit, if not then hope you guys have a great night :)

Oh Katy...good job today on avoiding the fudge! I wish I had that self-control! I will work on it! And I'm glad to hear you are going to a PT...I think you should. If you ignore the problem, it could get worse. So...good luck! But I am glad you won't be too stressed about no exercise...but remember to take it slow and listen to your body.

Well...I am debating on something...I want to order this swimsuit online that is on sale for 4 dollars. I have one that is the same design but the bottoms are just a little loose. Should I buy the bottoms one size smaller?? I just don't know. I need the top the same size because of my chest, but I just don't know about the bottoms...and for 4 dollars, I don't want to pass up the opportunity. What do you ladies think? I was just going to look at the size recommendations online.

    Kristin-
If it were me, I would do it! Its only $4, plus it could be motivation for you  I have a size 12 pair of express jeans hanging up on my closet door.. Oh how I yearn to fit in those jeans!! I am between a 16/18 right now..18s are too big and 16s are still a lil snug..but thats still only *4* sizes from a twelve!! lol, yup if I were you I would snatch those bottoms up for that cheap!

    dinner: Not sure either...

exercise: Going to go walk this evening in the park while I push my daughter in the umbrella stroller!

Good morning friends! I haven't yet bought the swimsuit...still debating. I'm just scared that I will order them a size smaller and they will be too small...ever! They are tie sides so I can adjust...just want to make sure there's enough material to cover my bottom!:blushing: I will decide today!

So...haven't looked at the scale...YAY ME!!! It's such a routine that I almost did...but remembered out little challenge this week...NOT UNTIL TUESDAY!

Last night went good...a GREAT workout, made some grilled chicken with Potatos and green beans. Then had 2 reduced fat graham crackers for dessert. And...we enjoyed some time in the hot tub. SO relaxing!

    Here's the plan for today:

    Breakfast:
1 wheat english muffin, 1 tbsp. natural peanutbutter, 1 wedge laughing cow light cheese, 8 oz. plumsmart light juice, 1 med. banana, 1 multivitamin.

    AM Snack:
2 c. coffee, 1 pack swiss miss less sugar hot cocoa mix, 1 sof-baked Kashi TLC ripe strawberry bar.

    Lunch:
Leftover chicken stew from my mom (1/2 c.), 1 c. tomato/cucumber salad, 1 AE YoLite yogurt, diet coke, Jello Pears in Pomegranite gelatin.

    Afternoon snack:
1 med. apple, 100 cal. pack almonds, 1 Kashi TLC peanut butter granola bar.

    Dinner:
    4 oz. Tilapia, 1 c. broccoli, 1 c. rice.

    PM Snack:
    Depends on remaining calories.

Exercise plan--1/2 hour run on treadmill, 1 hour BodyPump

I need to go to the grocery store tonight...so any suggestions?

    Have a great morning friends!

Katy, I'm so glad you're going to see a PT!! And 40lbs!! Good on ya woman :drinker:

Kristin, I would go for it. For that price chances are that if it is waaay too small, you could sell it on craigslist or something and get you $$ back. Congrats on not weighing-in!!

Good morning also to all the other wonderful ladies out there  I'm feeling SO good this morning!!! I hope I don't pay for it on Tuesday but today I did NOT weigh in and I feel like a million bucks. Taking my power back from the scale may be just the ticket  I've also decided that I'm going to modify my reward plans. I have been SO down lately and it has taken a major toll on my choices and on my motivation. Last week or so, I bought myself a gift certificate for a hair cut that I was going to use as my reward for hitting my half-way point (which was imminent). I've now hit this wicked plateau AND I've increased my total amount of weight I want to lose and I've decided that I'm going to get my hair cut to reward myself for how hard I've worked to get to this point (which I need to remember is HUGE! 33 lbs in 3 months is a big accomplishment!) and to boost up my morale. I have to check with the studio for prices, but I may consider getting my next tattoo project as my half-way reward. I've already got several tattoos but I'm getting two sanscrit phrases associated with my children on the inside of my wrists. But anyway I'm calling for my hair today and I'll see when they can get me in  I'm just blown away by how great I feel after NOT asking the scale what I should think about myself today!!

I haven't planned out my menu yet - going to start with breakfast then get that done.

    More soon ladies :glasses:

Rhiannon...this sounds like an EXCELLENT idea! You do deserve to reward yourself for 33 pounds in 3 months! That's AMAZING!!!! I'm getting a hair cut this Friday...and SUPER pumped about it! I used to always have long hair...but I think I'm sticking with the shorter...I like it much better!

So...I'm gonna do it! I'm gonna buy the XL top and the M bottoms! I'm seriously a little nervous, but they are tie sides...so it should be fine, right? I wish I could buy a smaller top but not possible...but also a tie if I ever lose a little up there. Wish me luck...I can let you know how they work in 6-9 days!

I'll check back in a bit!
  • Not much time now...more later...

Dudes, it's barely day 2 of our week and we're on page 3

Kristin, I'm so glad you ordered your suit!! That's exciting - I love waiting for mail.

So, I booked my hair appointment for tomorrow morning. Yay

I had an egg white omlette with alfalfa sprouts (it's the only green I had in the fridge but it was REALLY tasty!!) and skim milk cheese & salsa plus a slice of Ezekiel cinnamon raisin toast and fruit juice sweetened raspberry jam.
Supper is going to be turkey salsa meatloaf (we ended up having Thai food last night instead) and broccoli and green salad. I don't know about the middle of my day because I may be downtown so we may stop at this awesome vegan organic whole foods restaurant (buffet style). Everything they have is SO tasty and SO healthy. You pay by weight for most of it, but they also have fabulous soups that are $2.50 a bowl. Maybe soup for lunch?

Alright, I should be working so I can get off of this computer!!

Thanks Pedal! You enjoy your day at the hair salon when it comes! You totally deserve it!! And great job with avoiding the scale!!

Cass- meal planning is GREAT! If i did it more often I would be so much less stressed about whats for dinner or bfast or whatever lol.

So bfast was a protein shake and fiber cereal with skim milk..about to eat lunch now. Not sure if I will eat something at home (soup, luna bar, p-shakes, sandwich) or go get a salad somewhere. May just do a half of a sandwich and some soup. Its a rainy yucky day here :ohwell:

My PT appointment is tomorrow morning..bright and early at 8am!! Then I will have to rush to class then take my car to the body shop, get the rental and try to be back in time for my afternoon lab class! Fun fun!

Okay well gonna go fix my lunch now...I'll check in after a bit!! :)
