hey y'all,
mowed the whole back yard. DH and DS said why (it's huge, we always split it) i said because it's not hot out and i am not burning calories, i need to burn. i burned a whole 1240. normally i could burn over that just doing 1/2, it would also be over 90 degrees out. today it's in the 60/70. i did move some bricks to do my strength training. i'll take it. now shower and clean clothes and some lunch.
have a great SUNDAY everyone.

Good day! I'm glad everyone else is enjoying not weighing as much as I am!! I totally notice a difference in my mood although I'm still worried about what this week has done to NOT help my plateau!
Off to my step class.... this is going to be a GREAT day. I'm determined to be PERFECT :glasses:0 -
pedal...thinking (as my dh would say oh no). maybe the week of not so good eating and than getting back on track the next week might break it. cause you just broke the pattern your body was use to. just a thought. have fun at class. i want to invest in one of those steps and step dvd. our ymca has a free week, i just have to see how it all works and the class i would like to take. it started yesturday, but, i am busy until tomorrow.

WOW...I missed a lot in a day!:noway: Cathy and Rhiannon...I'm sorry you both had a bad day yesterday. Mine was good...not 100% sure on calories. I did eat a little pasta salad and mashed potatoes at our friends, but I had lots of calories remaining. Today is another story and I can join you in misery (however you both seem better today). I ate a BUNCH of these Pumpkin Spice Kisses that are OH SO GOOD but now I feel OH SO SICK! Why do I do this to myself? I think I'm gonna go for a quick run with the dogs! Argh! Oh well. Have to take my little brother home to my parents and am having dinner there tonight probably...so may not get to post until later tonight.
Have a good day everyone!0 -
Hello again..!
I just ate lunch..feeling sleepy now
Had 1/2 sandwich with turkey, provolone and pickle slice. Ate some tostitos scoops chips with some of the cheesy salsa chili dip I made yesterday...
Went to the park and walked 42 minutes..only burned like 336 cals :grumble: I guess bc it is alot cooler weather and because Ive walked the same park for the past couple of days and my body is getting used to it...
So I may go again before or after dinner and walk but who knows!!
Not sure what is for dinner, Im thinking maybe just a nice salad!0 -
argh!!!!!!!! son wants to take us to mexican tonight. the place he wants to go is oh so good. don't know. i have been so good since july. this weekend is kicking my butt.......now all i want to do is eat. i have asked him we can go to moes instead. there i can choose better. do the best i can.

Katy, I can never believe how much difference it makes when your body is used to something!! I burn HALF the number of calories now in my step class as I did almost 2 months ago and that's with me adding more risers!!
Kristin, sorry you're feeling sad about giving in to temptation. It happens :flowerforyou: and you'll make up for it.
My class was super fun. All of the music was a throw-back to the 1990's (spice girls remix, britney, then some 70's with the village people all mixed with great beats...) it was so fun! Now we're off to the air show.
So far so good today and I'm feeling totally motivated again. May it stick!! Chipper, I hope you're right. I'm thinking I won't see a change this week but hopefully next!0 -
i am tomorrow is a new day. i feel rotten. i ate out 3 times this weekend. tonight we ended up with japanese. it ended up costing me 800 calories. i had 1200 left for the day. so was good. i feel overly full.
well, off to do some more house searching for son on internet.
have a good night.

I know! Im like man I like losing weight but this sucks that Im doing the same stuff at the same speed and only burning like a %age of the cals I was before! Guess I will just have to change some things up .... not too terribly much I can change up though with the PT though! Oh well!
Im gonna have to add some spice girls to the ipod..when I exercise I like upbeat fast paced stuff to listen to - I think it makes me work a lil harder lol.0 -

Dont stress it..Life happens Just as long as you dont continue to eat out every day I think you will be fine!!0 -
Okay- dinner was zesty santa fe chicken soup (light version) by progresso. It was okay, but Healthy Choice soups have alot more substance and more flavor in my opinion. Didnt go for another walk, my back has been bothering me this afternoon/evening so Im not going to push it. I am having a few glasses of this Spanish red wine I picked up at a small wine shop me and my dad visited a few weeks ago - we fought over this bottle of wine and I won lol. I wanted to wait for a semi celebration to open it and well..this past week I made a **92** on my Bio test sooo that is my reason to semi celebrate
Okay well Im off here for the night, gonna enjoy my wine and then go to bed..PT at 730a tomorrow!!! Enjoy your night tonight ladies and have a fabulous day tomorrow!!!

Hey gals! Well...had dinner at my parents. Not too bad. 1 slice beef roast with 1 potato, half a small acorn squash, some carrots and celery (roasted also...yum...) Then we had some baked pear tart thing for dessert...NO clue on calories for it, but really don't think it was too bad and I only had a small slice with 2 tbsp. cool whip free. So...I don't feel too terrible, plus I did go for a run earlier today with the dogs. Plus...tomorrow is a new day and then Tuesday we weigh. I'm REALLY hoping for a loss!
Have a great night ladies and I'll check back tomorrow!0 -
Hi,
OK. I got back on track today, well, kind of (at least I stayed within cals.)
1: Nutri grain bar & skim milk
2: Apple
3: Turkey wrap & corn on cob
4: Skim milk , 2 fun size milky way
5: Lean cusine chicken
6: Very tiny piece of angel food cake
Exercise:45 min. bike ride & more yard work. Oh my aching back.
I have a very busy day tomorrow, but will still try to check in. Can't wait til tue.
Have a good night everyone:yawn:0 -
Hey ladies, I'm SO excited - I've managed to pull off my perfect day!
Meals were 100% on target (in fact I still get my popcorn before bed later), did my step class AND my BFF and I went out salsa dancing!! On the military base... in the officer's quarters... with the pilots of the snowbirds (the fighter pilots who do all the formations and trick flying at the airshow we saw today). It was a small party and so much fun! I haven't gone out like that in a long time.
Well, off to have my popcorn and hit the hay in a bit  :happy:0 -
Good evening Ladies,
Sounds like everyone has cut out for the night but I will post anyways. Today was not a good eating day. I did get some exercise but nothing too significant. This all needs to change. It is discouraging to have everything you worked for all week to get thrown out because you had a bad weekend. I still consider myself new to your challenge and I know that my bind with all of you is not as good as the one that you all have with eachother. If anyone can give me suggestions on how you stay on track on the weekends. I am also trying to get a handle on planning my meals ahead of time. I am recognizing that this is a problem and I think that it is from he posts. You all plan all your meals out and get them on the thread early in the morning.
So these are my mini goals for this week...
1. exercise EVERY day this week
2. have all meals planned first thing in the morning
3. Do not blow it when the weekend comes!
I am reaching out and asking for some help and advice. Any suggestions are welcome.

Awe hunny!:flowerforyou: This happens to us all. I have always and still do have a struggle with weekends. They are hard...especially when you have habits you're so used to. Planning is a GREAT idea and will help you a LOT! I would also try and get some exercise in in the morning...it seems to help me because then I'm pumped from the get-go and careful the rest of the day. BUT...we all have slip ups. You just need to get back in the saddles today and have a GREAT day! Tomorrow we will start a new thread with a new weight...so you can redeem yourself today! It's okay...:flowerforyou:0 -
good morning all....
pedal...great day. i bet dancing was so much fun. enjoy the popcorn.
kistin...good job eating well at your parents. did you enjoy your weekend with you brother?
cass...how did you make out this weekend?
katy...i hope your back gets better. it can take time. just hang in there.
amy...eating good everyday...ummmm...i think that just comes with the willpower. for me personally i have been on track for about 2 months, but, than had a small dip this weekend. but, realized last night, that this is life and if i am going to be eating out so much, there is nothing wrong with eating a little off one meal, and keep on track the others. i also tell myself i feel better when i stay on track. and i really want this weight off now not later. i am tired of fighting this battle, i want to win it once and for all. if you fall once you don't have to keep falling the rest of the day. you can get right back on the next meal. list your meals ahead and see if it helps.
me...i have found that this week without the scale, i don't fret over the little gains as my body does it's thing. i am in better moods. i think i will do that again this week. so my new mini goals for this week:
1) eat most of my calories everyday and leave the 300/400+
2) again stay off the scale.
weight tomorrow girls.............
see you later, treadmill calling..

Chipper...yes...I had a FABULOUS weekend with my little brother! Thanks for asking!:flowerforyou:0 -
Amy, whether you've been here long enough for us to really get to know each other or not has no bearing on how much support or encouragement you're entitled to!! :flowerforyou: There's a member on MFP who has lost 86lbs and the quote on her profile is "weight loss is not for sissies". That couldn't be more true!! This is a very difficult undertaking and something I'm really coming to realize is that even more important than learning to make the right choices, choose the right portions and so on, is learning how to get back on the horse once you've felt defeated. This is a life-long change we're going for here and life continues to happen despite our hard work to be perfect all the time. If you allow yourself to acknowledge that you do well for the whole week and have less-than-ideal days on weekends, that's probably much better than what you were doing before... And that's a huge step on its own toward you reaching your goals! Keeping things in mind like how good it feels after a successful day and how down on yourself you feel after a not-so-great day can be helpful tools in curbing big disasters. At times I've been faced with a choice (say, cookie or no cookie) and I've thought to myself, 'think of how proud you'll feel after you DON'T eat the cookie' and I try to distract myself for 20 minutes or so and usually it's no longer an issue. Just try to keep in balance the fact that your life is still for living. Make the healthiest choices you can MOST of the time and you're on the right track. If we can let loose every once in a while we deprive ourselves of some of life's great joys! If you think of the European relationship with food and celebration yet their general lack of weigh issues compared with N. America, Europeans eat very decadent, very rich foods, and a big variety of them. But they eat so slowly because it's so social and all geared around conversation, and they eat very small portions of each little dish. There are ways to have it all I think
You'll get over this slump and you'll find a system that works for you. When this challenge first started I wasn't planning out my day, I was logging foods either right before or just after I ate them and keeping track that way. But I've found that planning my day (and sometimes the next day or two also) allows me to keep my over-all nutrition in better balance (ie: complex carbs and protein at each meal, balancing my fibre throughout the day, making sure I've got enough vegetables and so on). It also takes the emotion out of eating. I see what I'm supposed to eat next and my stomach and mind don't get to boss me around if I happen to be craving something else. Give it a try - it may make a great difference! We're here for ya girl. No need to worry about that. Vent any time!!
So ladies, I'm still in such a good mood from my perfect day yesterday. I'm going to do some kind of work out this morning and I've got dance tonight so this will be a good work out day.
I hope everyone has a good one! This is going to be a very busy week for me due to my tradeshow this weekend coming, and I'm going to have to do some preemptive working out before Friday because from Friday morning until Sunday night I won't have any time to do so! I'm going to see if I can sneak in a lunchtime spin class tomorrow... my husband could hang out with the little ones for 1/2 an hour on his break :glasses:
Tomorrow morning is my tv spot so I won't be weighing in until Wednesday. YIKES!!! Yay everyone for making it a week! I think that should be our goal every week. We've all been a lot happier
TTYL!0 -
Hello Ladies. :flowerforyou:
I just got to work...tons to do this morning...I'll write big and long later on. The only thing I read was Amy's post..
Amy, something to think about. Do you want to be accountability partners on your goals? Those goals look a lot like the same things I want to accomplish! Workout everyday, plan my meals and don't blow all the hard work when Saturday rolls around. Think about it. We could message each other and keep each other on track...
I'm down for it...or up for it...however you look at it...heheheh
Ok, more later!0 -
Okay, here's the menu today!
1: oatmeal w/ flax, blueberries, soy nuts, peanut butter & 1/2 a banana plus a protein drink
2: egg white omlette w/ alfalfa sprouts, tomato, skim cheese & salsa plus 1 slice cinnamon raisin ezekiel toast w/ homemade olive butter and fruit juice sweetened raspberry jam
3: pumpkin raisin crunch cereal w/ skim milk & a banana blueberry fruit salad (apparently I'm having breakfast all day  )
4: protein shake, carrot ginger soup w/ ezekiel bread & hummus
5: air popped popcorn
I'm off to the races!0 -
Hey...Rhiannon...can you share with me this carrot ginger soup? It sounds SO good! And we're getting into soup weather for sure!
I'm back from harvesting and turns out we won't be out there again this afternoon. So...I'm sure I will check in more than expected! I'll be back in a bit!0 -
Ok girls....
What's the deal ladies!?! Seems like several of us (me included) lose it on the weekends. We need to rectify this situation!!! We can't work out butts off all week and then bag out on the weekend!! I know for me it was so hard this weekend because I had the SeaHawks game and that is a pretty special event for us. But still I didn't need to eat the garlic fries and I could have had light beer...but made bad choices!!
I want us to be proud of ourselves and our accomplishments and I was us to be some skinny *****es! (no offense intended). So what's the trick to keeping it together on the weekends? For me I think its working out...AND planning my meals first instead of going through the day figuring it out as I go.
Tomorrow is weigh in...I don't know about you guys, but I'm nervous. I didn't workout this morning, but I'm going to do Turbo Jam tonight (my back still hurts from Saturday's workout...good hurt..not bad hurt). And I've committed to going to the gym each morning this week...no matter what! October 14th is 22 days away...I want us all to reach our goals!!! Then move on to Sexy in Six and for ALL OF US to break through our goals!! WE CAN DO THIS!
I have my meals planned and today will be a good day.
Coffee, oatmeal, cottage cheese 262 calories
no morning snack
Soup w/ saltines, bertolli dinner(left overs) with chicken 438 calories
Granola bar 150calories
Stirfry with brown rice and chicken 358 calories
some night snack...maybe graham crackers
Total without night snack......1208 calories
I am going to do Turbo Jam Cardio Party Live (burned 447 calories last time) AND Ab Jam!!
I'm done with TOM so that is a plus and I'm going to sweat my booty off...so hopefully tomorrow won't be too painful!
Smootches!!:smooched:0 -
I agree with you Cass...we need to find some way to make it through the weekends. Sometimes I have GREAT weekends. And really this past weekend wasn't too horrible. Here's a few things that help me:
1. Working out in the morning...I take a spin class on Saturday mornings and Sundays I take the dogs on a run...this wakes me up and then I think about it all day! Plus...then I have some extra calories if I decide to have a glass of wine or a beer.
2. PLAN! This is KEY. Plan what you are going to eat. If you're going out for dinner or to a friends, make sure to save some extra calories. It's always easier to eat more than not have enough calories remaining!
3. DO stuff! We've been playing beach volleyball and going bowling! Or sometimes it's Wii bowling or whatever...but I always try and suggest doing something that gets us moving!
These are just a few. Try and avoid having open bags of things...I know this is lethal for me! Open bag of pretzel=I eat the whole stinkin bag!:noway: So be careful about that! And another great thing I've found is that I'll cut up some apples and pears and wash some grapes and put them on a bowl on the counter, then my husband and I will munch on that rather that poorer choices. Having things ready to eat is GREAT!
Well....I am very excited to announce that I got my formal job offer today!!!!! They want me to start October 1st, which I still have to discuss with my current supervisor, but since it is an internal job (within the same company) they do this a lot...start within short notice. So...I need to figure all that out, but I am SO excited!!!!!
Well, have a great afternoon and I'll be back a little later!0 -
:drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:
CONGRATS ON THE OFFICIAL JOB OFFER!!!
Way to go Kristin!!!
I like your suggestion of having fruit or veggies cut up and out. Also, I need to plan my food out better. I am thinking of planning a weeks food at a time. I know it will take effort, but I'm wondering in the long run if this is better....I'm still thinking on this one.0 -
way to go kistin...bet it feels real now that the "official" call has come it.
our ymca is having a free week called "something across americia" so tonight i am going to do water aerobics. i think they have that everyday. and i also choose the step classes. they are also having healthy eating lectures every other day. saturday they are having loads of lectures and a fair type thing. DH says if i enjoy this week he will consider letting me sign up. i was shocked at the price. $432 a year. they take monthly pymts. so need to decide by sat, that day they will waive the reg. fee ($60). my other concern is it is at least 15 miles from me. to drive that far everyday. i could just go everyother day. i am looking for some place with a pool.
nothing else new in my neck of the woods. need to finish laundry and get some laundry soap made.
check back later,
cathy0 -
Awe thanks gals!:flowerforyou: I am VERY excited! Just hope to get things all wrapped up with the group I'm in. So, next Tuesday is my last day in this current position! OMG!:noway: That's CRAZY!!!!! But still SO exciting!!!!
Cass....planning a week ahead is hard...I've tried it and decided it didn't work for me, but you just have to see. It may work well for you. For me, our schedule just changes so much that a lot of times I don't know day to day what we will be doing. Good luck to ya!
Cathy...AWESOME! I used to go to the YMCA and loved it! Whatever you choose you will like. And yes, gym memeberships can get pricey, but I honestly think it's worth it! I tried to go with no gym and never stuck to anything! But again, I think it's personal preference...some like to workout at home. I do not. Good luck to you! Whatever you decide will be great!
Well ladies, I need to get on some things here at work since I have lots to get finished by next Tuesday! BUT...I will be by the computer so may still check in here today! Have a good afternoon!:flowerforyou:0 -
Amy, A lot of us struggle through the weekend and looks like there is a lot of good advice and help out there for us. It helped me out too. I think your heart has to be in it. Maybe your just not ready yet. I think thats why the last year I tried several times and would lose a few pounds then forget about it for awhile. I hope you can do this with us. I think keeping track of those calories every time you are going to eat (instead of saying I'll do it later) will be helpful for me. Another thing I've tried is asking myself "Do I like it enough to wear it"? Hope you stick with it girl.
Pedal, good luck with the tv shoot, sounds very exciting.
Kristen, Congrats again on the new job.
Chipper, I know how you feel, I live at least 15 minutes from anything like a YMCA or good gym and they are too expensive when I figure in the time & gas.
Cass, looks like your doing well you shouldn't be nervous about weigh in.
Katy, Don't want to leave you out. Hi hope your feeling good today.
Today:
1: oatmeal, 1/2 banana, brown sugar splenda & 2 coffeewith cream
2: apple
3: side salad, trail mix & diet coke
4: natrual peanut butter, 1/2 banana
5: Not sure yet, thin crust pizza maybe
6: popcorn or skim milk & biscotti
Exercise: Shred dvd
Have a good afternoon everyone I'll try to check in later.:happy:0 -
Good afternoon! Thank you for all the encouraging words and the helpful suggestions. I think I am going to make myself some mini goals to go by. I have 60 pounds that I would like to loose. My starting weight for this challenge is 195.
I have broken it down into 4 mini goals of 15 pounds each.
When I reach 180 pounds I am going to go and get my hair cut.
When I reach 165 pounds I am going to get new workout clothes(my current clothes should be falling off by then!)
When I reach 150 pounds I am going to get new running shoes(should need those badly by then with all the walking and running I will be doing to get there! )
When I reach 135 pounds and not to mention my goal weight  I am going to get a new outfit head to toe..new expensive designer jeans, a really cute shirt and of course new shoes to go with.
Cass- I am totally up for an accountability partner. I have seen alot of people doing this lately. It seems to be working well.0 -
Deb...ohh....I had garlic fries and beer at the Seahawks game...so I'm not doing THAT great!! lol...I'm going to do my two workout dvd's tonight and eat within calorie AND get my water in....so hopefully I'll see a lose tomorrow.
Amy, I messanged you already...
I loooove the goals!!! I should think of some of my own...hmmm......thinking....thinking.....0
