Did last day of level 1 on friday so started L2D1 saturday!!! I think the first set of cardio is more like an arm exercise... Your stuck in the plank position for twovminutes doing planks jumps and mountain climbers. Arms and shoulders were screaming!!!
Oh and at one point she wants you to bring your knees to your elbows while doing ..... I wont ruin the surprise awaiting you!!!
Had a long day yesterday so im lying in bed but need to get to a bridal shower. So im skipping today and will resume level 2 monday!!!

HI everybody! Just found this thread, and I am really excited to continue with you all... it was so great doing 30DS with you! I was planning to start on the 24th, but I need to have Mondays be my off day, so I will start the 23rd In the mean time, I am rotating through levels of the 30ds again, hoping it will result in me being more fit to start Ripped!
SO, I will add myself to the list with my start date, but if that is not OK, take me off until I start I will read along from now til then so I know what's coming and can get inspired by all you wonderful people!

Mom-Great to have you with us...For those that know they aren't starting until later, I am not removing from the list. I am just removing from the list those that don't end up starting and those that don't update their name (in both instances, won't remove until around 10 days after their last update or their supposed start date).
For those of you that need motivation, just go and see the pics of others that have done the 30 day exercises and see how much difference there is in just one month! Our group was the JM 30 Day Shred and if you look at the end of the part 2 and part 3, you can see how much you can change. Of course, RI30 is supposed to be harder, so the end results should be even more! My changes would've been better if I didn't go over my calories so many times and/or kept up w/ doing my elliptical (which is what I am trying to do this time...at least 6 hours of exercise a week of total exercise and only going over my calories no more than one time per week...if any)
Remember also, you didn't get to where you are overnight, so you can't get to where you want to be overnight! But the more focused, realistic, and dedicated you are, the faster and better you will get there and the more likely you are to be able to maintain that state! If you expect an overnight change, then you are just as easy able to have an overnight change that puts you back or over where you started (see yo-yo dieters and other crash dieters...it doesn't work)0 -

jojo: wow, we have someone in leven 2 already! wtg! sounds like u are doing well!
kory: i do my exercises at night as well, cant be doing with waking up at 5am! thought about it! not happening! lol! my daughter wakes around 5.30-6ish anyways so i def need a bit of a lie in! i tend to do my exercises at 7.30ish as well once my dinners in the overn/ cooking with hubby supervising!
mom: good to have you on the thread again! your results were fab in the 30ds!
AFM: ok so i started today instead of tomorrow! have a good week off but had a pub lunch today with the family and didnt fancy a run tonight so ripped it was! wow! im loving it! def better and the music is a little better too. some complicated moves! my little brain couldnt figure out the side lunges with the extra step! i think i finally get it now as i had to get hubby to show me! i just did what we did in the 30ds! lol! used 3lbs for some and 5lbs for other moves! wow im feeling it! my neck is a little sore which means im going to have to stretch out some more! but def feel this is a step up from the shred! was able to do most of the advanced bar a few!

Heya, definately...welcome to the group. A couple of us just did L2D1 today as well..yeah, those crow's are nuts! Just read the first posts on this thread to see how it works. I'll add your name to the list!0 -
First day of level 2 and wow...all those 'favorite' plank items all in one little package! grrrr....and those crows...(OMG!) Overall, not too bad...once again am glad that I did the 30DS first and built up some endurance to those plank moves, but the push up moves are killers for me, since I still can't do a full blown push up

Hey all!! Just wanted to say congrats to all of you who are going strong with this! A few of you in level 2 already! It seems that most of you are doing 6 days + 1 rest day in each level...I was thinking of doing ten at each level (like 30DS), maybe with a rest day in the middle and at the end of each? That would make it just over 40 days. Do you think this would be too much with this workout? I haven't seen it yet, so I don't know what it's like. Thanks for any advice you're all doing fantastic and I can't wait to join you!!!0

everyone is doing great!!! I will totally be just starting when you all are finishing! I still can't decide if I wanna start on the 20th so my days off are Fridays (I usually stay out late Thurs night) OR if I wanna start the 24th so my days off are Tuesdays (My last of 3- 12hr night shifts) ANY SUGGESTIONS???
I can't believe how quick these days go though...i suppose with only 6 days at each level vs the 10 on the shred...it does go quick!!0 -

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I have a cold and couldn't get myself up to start level 2 this morning but tomorrow I am getting up even if I still feel like crap! I did finish level 1 on Saturday. Glad that's over! Also going back to Bikram yoga again on Wednesday. I'm looking forward to restarting it but hope it doesn't wipe me out to much. I wanted to start that today as well but with this cough I think I might cough up a lung in the 105 degree room.

Des--I think doing 10 days per level would be an ambitious goal, but I wouldn't do it until at least level 2. Since you did the 30DS, level 1 won't be that much of a challenge after a week...and maybe not even level 2.
Tara--I personally would want the day after party night off just so I wouldn't have the excuse of a hangover or whathaveyou0 -

Ok- so 8lbs weights through the whole workout killed my form, so I used 8lbs weights for the first set of each exercise and then 5lbs weights for the second set- seemed to work much better!!! Day 3 done!!! I can't wait to get out of L1 though- it bores the heck out of me- even on mute!

Grace-I wasn't sore after doing this one, but a lot of us started out doing JM's 30 day shred...I was so sore after day 1 & 2 that it hurt to squat to sit down and I was limping most of the first week! I pushed thru and still exercised (the warm up definately helps) and it went away by around day 5 or 70

Wow...day 2 of level 2 wasn't an easier! All those damn plank moves! At least the V-raises weren't added in this one! (still hate those the most) :drinker:
Awesome job to all of those that have started and keeping it up! Remember, if you are sore, don't let that discourage you from doing the routine that day...you can push thru it and it will loosen up! :ohwell:

Day 2 level 2 done, was a bit sore in the shoulders this morning but i did 20mins of cardio first to really warm up and i feel much better after doing level 2 again. But is was still hard

Started L2 yesterday ... whoa nelly, that JM is sure one tough cookie. I could not for the life of me figure out how to do those planks and raise my leg to my shoulder at the same time ... I felt like I wasn't coordinated enough! Although I found myself not challenged by the modifier as much this time ... I did some moves that were the advanced (following Shelly). Do you guys feel this way??
This morning my calves are sore a bit, but looking forward to week 2.
I've been reading y'alls posts, and noticed that many of you are saying that 30DS makes RI30 seem easier?? Would you suggest to do 30DS after RI30?? I was planning on making that my next routine. Should I just stick with RI30?

Level 2 day 1 done! LDV I'm with you on the plank leg raises. I'm don't feel corrdinated enough to get the full effect of them. My arms are a little short so the ab move where you sit and bring your butt up was a challange to do as well. Everything else was great.

A couple of feedbacks:
Erica--I ended up having to elevate up onto my fingers to do the table raises (or whatever they are called) and it ended up actually making it easier all around (not a fist...put hand flat on the ground then straight arm thru the palm and put weight on fingers-like the advanced person is doing)
Steph/Erica-on the crows...I can only do push-ups on my knees, so I don't think the crow planks work well that way. I ended up putting myself in plank position and just lifted up my knees but didn't go down into push-up...this is working me out better than being on my knees...I think it is still good form, just works abs and arms w/o doing push ups
Steph--Keep going w/ RI30 since you have started, but if it ends up getting too hard and you find yourself quitting, then go back and do the 30DS. I think once you finish the RI30, then the 30DS may not be enough of a challenge, but it may be. Try it out and see, but may have to start on level 2...but who knows!0 -
level 3 down! still very sore! ouch- my arms and shins and thigh and back! lol basically my whole body aches! im using 5lb weights now as well which means feel it even more! hope everyone is doing well! i finally get the side lunges! woo!

Day3 level 2 done! was easier today, but im modifying a few things, like the crows im doing the same as you Kory, plank with pulling a leg up am also finding the serving bicep move hard too so im doing every second movement as a bicep serve and alternating it with a bicep curl.
This month is flying by, the 10th here already (im in NZ)

Hey all, in prep for Ripped in 30, I have a question for all of you who are now experts! I am using 3 pound weights for 30DS, although I may move up soon to 5 lbs. I see most of you are using heavier weights for RI30, do I need to get heavier ones? I was kind of assuming that since it is harder, I would still be using 3 lbs. Let me know what y'all think!
