    Hi momwithacamera - Im using 2x 2kg weights (4.4 pounds each) I did the 30DS with the same weights.

    Jen-as you know I haven't started yet...but I started with 3lbs for the frist 3 days of each level on the shred, and then went to 5lbs, and I plan on doing the same for ripped :)

    Mom--I use the 5 pound weights for everything in level 2...I used them for everything in level one except for the 3rd round where it has the raises and used 8 pound weight for the 2nd round items that used the single weight.

    Grace--It really does let up...I was serious when I said that I was limping (all day at work, my shins hurt so much) and I could barely squat down to pee! I miss the pain now, because once it went away it hasn't come back. I don't know it is because I haven't had more than a 2 day break, but I am very rarely sore since that first week. I know quite a few others were the same way and we had to push each other thru it! Hope it goes away quickly for you!

    Please make sure and get the latest posting for the completion when you copy and paste...it's not that big of a deal, since the dates are there it is easy to see that it isn't correct, just sayin' :flowerforyou:

    L2D2 ... some moves getting easier! Although I noticed my wrists are hurting mid rep. Kory, I'm gonna try to do those planks like you said - I've been trying but feel so uncoordinated!! LOL

    As for the weights ... I think 3# is too light for me now, although I think it was perfect to start with. I'm going to get 5# and 8# hopefully this weekend. That should help my efforts a bit more! Maybe I will even stick to 3# through this first session! Who knows, we shall see!

    Mom - I plan on starting with 3 lb weights since I've never had any muscle in the arm area (just a bit now, after the shred!) If that feels easy I might move up to 5... just listen to your body. Start low so you don't hurt yourself, and make it harder if you can handle it! :smile:

    Hey ALL!! I have skipped the past two mornings instead to go for a nice 2 mile run. Weather is beautiful & I just needed to get outside instead

    Hope to move on to L2D3 Thursday morning!

    Had a nice compliment from the hubby today whilst in my underoo's- that was a nice way to start the day!

    I'm starting to notice too & it feels DAMN GOOD!!! Legs are looking leaner & arms are getting definition!!! Thank you RI30:)

    Any one else shin splints hurt when doing the "squat thrusts"?

    I have to do mountain climbers instead- too much strain on my shins

    Jojo--for the squat thrusts, I have to do a modified version where I jump and land on one foot at a time for both directions (More of like a hopping mountain climber..don't know how to explain it...i kinda hop up like a thrust, but one foot stays planted for a split second longer than the other as well as for the landing...and I only go about halfway up the length of my body)...the shock of the landing when doing it full out really bothered my knee on the 30DS and I didn't want to risk it again.

    i was bad! got thru all of level 1 no probs - finished that on sunday.

    was due to start level 2 on monday but had been out on saturday and sunday so was feeling a bit delicate so took monday as my day off.

    started day 1 of level 2 on tuesday nite and hated it! crow push ups!!! yikes!! how hard are they?! and there were several moves i found quite complicated. that climb up ur leg move i just couldnt get. dont think i'm flexible enough! lol. some moves just seemed over complicated for a novice like me and i kinda got p*ssed off before the end and i dread to say i stopped the dvd about 25 mins in, after the first strength circuit of level 3, and went and done a run and cycle to finish my workout.

    not sure why i gave up but i did. then i done nothing on wednesday nite. but i'm glad to say i came to my senses today so i jumped back on today and done day 2 of level 2 and also finished the rest of the 3rd circuit that i missed from tuesday nite. glad to say i didnt find it as bad as i remembered from tuesday nite so i'm feeling like i lost my motivation but somehow got it back again.

    maybe it was the jillian voice in my head that brought me back! lol. but with 2 days off already this week it means i'm gonna have to squeeze 4 work outs in to the next 3 days. friday is looking like my best option for 2 workouts, as its the wife's birthday on saturday, so looks like back to back level 2 tomorrow nite for me! but after giving up i guess i deserve the punishment.

    hadnt been on MFP since the weekend so i'm thinking i should have kept looking on this thread coz there's a good chance i would have read about everyone doing their workouts and it might have motivated me too.

    close call. lesson learnt. and i'm back at it. will be happier tomorrow nite when i get a double workout in and i'll be back to where i should have been.

    Well Day 5 level 2 is done and dusted. I have a bad headache today but i pushed through and did it anyway (weird thing was that it went away while i was exercising.....) I think its from muscle tightness in my neck. (and from carrying my baby around!!)

    I find the squat thrusts hard too, i do a mix of squat thrusts and when it gets too hard i change to mountain climbers for a bit to give myself a bit of a break.

    Im taking 2 days off this weekend, i have done 2 work outs a day all week and my body needs a rest :) i will probably still go for a walk or something tho. Heading into week 3 on Monday!!

    gd- way to stay at it!! You just needed to get it out of your system & now you already see that your glad your back!! I've gotten annoyed sometimes when I get too many distractions during a JM workout where I just grab my ipod & go for a run to release the frustration. and...happy birthday gd's wife!!

    erica- have fun & 6 flags!! all that walking will be good exercise!! make sure when you stand in the long lines you do some calf raises or something- LOL

    gsenriguez- once you start seeing the progress it will keep you motivated! Keep at it!

    mybikini- give your body a break so i can catch up to you on level 3 next week!! hehehe

    maria- congrats to you & hope you have a good transition to L2. Its hard b/c is different moves than L1, but stay at it- you will impress yourself!!

    kory- thanks for the advice! I am doing moutain climbers and/or full-on "Michael Jordan Skaters" I hated them but now i can feel how much they helped my upper thighs & butt!!

    Not sure i'll be on a computer (other than updating my workouts on the phone) so i will not be on the board this weekend.

    Just finished up my Week 2 Day 3 workout. Wednesday I took a rest day, and then yesterday after almost an hour, I couldn't find the strength in me to do JMs. So no rest day for me until Sunday. (I've been taking a day during the week and Sundays). Looking forward to week 3 ... those plank with knee raises still kick my butt, but I try my best.

    Des, I believe that you tube has week one on there ... if not try exercisetv.tv, they have a bunch too.

    day 3 of week 2 done. still 1 day behind (as per my previous post) so will have to do another workout tonite or 2 tomorrow and 1 on sunday. hadnt decided what way to do it but then i just read my last post and saw that i said i'd do a double workout tonite so that makes my mind up for me i guess!
