Are there any foods that are good sources of folic acids/other B vitamins? I know they are important for health in general, but I've heard having too much of them can be bad for women's bodies, so I thought I would start slow and go with foods for it. (I honestly don't remember where, so if I'm wrong, feel free to correct).

i can relate to so much of the 'weirdness'. :) i knit, i am obsessed with my budget spreadsheet and making lists, my sister makes fun of me when i flair my nostrils, we don't have cable, etc. good thing i am in good company.

so i was supposed to start menstrauting today, but didn't. hopefully i will start tomorrow or it will throw off being able to try again in october... le sigh. i hope my hormones can get it together. if you are a believer, i'd appreciate prayers.

GBOH - I'm sorry to hear that! How are you feeling? Do you feel like you'll start tomorrow? Fingers crossed for you!

Amanda - I'm sorry you're still not feeling well! I can't remember to precursor/specifics but I hope you feel better soon! Also - I lived in AB for years - I loved it out there!

So I was just re-reading everyone's intro - I made a boo boo in mine! :blushing: I said no meds but I've been on Clomid for 5 cycles. Sorry about that ladies!

Length of time on the board: Just joined this week!
    Marital Status: Married
Length of time you've been with SO: 6 years
    Do you have kids: No
Length of time TTC: One month
Diagnosis: none, one miscarriage 5 yrs ago
Do you chart your BBT: Just started to!
    Do you use OPKs: Yes
Are you on any meds for TTC: No
    Height: 5ft3
    Weight: 204
Goal Weight: 145 would be amazing (weight before marriage), and 125-130 is the ultimate goal

Weird fact...hmmm My husband calls me the 'Honey whisperer', Honey is my my dog's name btw lol. I'm not some crazy pet lady, really I swear haha, but my dog and I just have this sixth sense. I think my husband's jealous our pup listens to me more than him! ;)
AFM I think I drove the Hubby crazy last month with all my stress about ttc. I got so worried every time opk was negative, and was a tad crazy about if we were "trying" enough or at the right time lol I just felt like my cycle was kooky last month, and on Monday my eye doctor said that the antihistamine and steroid drops she had prescribed were probably to blame(had stopped taking them right at the end of last cycle). Sooooo this month my goal is to relax and have some more fun with this! Even though my miscarriage was so long ago I don't think that fear ever really goes away, ya know?

i went through premature menopause when i was 27. it is sometimes called premature ovarian failure, premature ovarian insufficiency, or primary ovarian insufficiency. menopause that early is unnatural and usually because a woman runs out of viable eggs. the strange thing is i still have eggs and have pcos. i was pretty much laughed at for three years before seeing my current fertility specialist, who thought under the 'right' set of circumstances (read once in a blue moon) that i may be able to conceive again. without hormone replacement therapy, my body's hormones are nuts and i need to take the time off between ttc each month to get them back to normalize. it's kind of a bummer deal. :(

That is definitely a bummer! My sister-in-law was told she couldn't have kids or that it would be hard for her because only one ovary produces eggs, and there is some other abnormality so she's super irregular. But she has had 2 kids since then so I hope it's the same way for you. All things are possible with God, so i'm glad you didn't listen to all those lame doctors!

i feel fine. no af. i am bloated from the extra progesterone, but so far no sign of an impending period. i am going to call this morning and see what they want to do. i leave town on friday, come back monday, leave town tuesday night, come back sunday, so that means all of next week is out for blood tests and hormone experimentation. if they want to play wait-and-see for two weeks, that is a huge delay for things in october.

it sounds completely crazy but i know i am supposed to have at least one more boy (i hope a couple of girls too, but i am only certain about the boy). before i went into menopause, i had the most vivid dream of a boy named alan elijah playing with my (in the dream, teenage) sons. i saw him clearly and i believe it was a prophecy from God letting me know it was okay to have hope; that he would provide for me. maybe that means adoption, but i really felt like it was 'naturally'.

One of my closet friends....had a lot of problems. I can't remember what the exact issue was regarding her ovaries...but every doctor and specialist she went to told her she was never going to be able to have children. And she told everybody that "YES" she was. And to spite all the doctors she managed to get pregnant and delivered her Miracle baby boy in May of this year.

No one should ever say never and good for you for staying positive :) Positivity will take a person really far!!!!

BTW I noticed you are doing a run for prostate cancer....thank you for doing that :) A really close friend of mine was recently diagnosed!\

I tried to quote the first paragraph from GBOH but Im not sure how I managed to screw it up! LOL

    thanks for the encouragement!

my dad died from prostate cancer last year after a 2 year battle with it. he was 58. so many people think it is an old man's disease and that it doesn't kill, but it has almost the exact same statistics as breast cancer. i will be praying for your friend.

I'm sorry to hear about your father.....and you are very right.....it is not an old mans disease and the stats keep getting higher....there is not enough awareness about this cancer. If more people new about it...they could possibly catch it in the earlier stages.

Thanks for praying for my friend

I have a few things. #1 I am understanding a little more about what you guys are looking for as far as goals so my goals are to drink at least 64oz of water a day and to stretch nightly

#2 How do you know if/when you ovulate? I have never really paid attention to my cycle so I don't know how to tell. I have googled and googled, but I can never tell. I have also done the calculators online and some say one date and others say another. Hubby and I get busy frequently so i'm not too worried about missing an opportunity, but he has a wacky work scheduel so it would be nice to make sure we are both availible at the right times.

SOOO. Today at the gym I ran for a full 25 minutes! It was slow but for me that's huge. I was born with a funnel chest (caved in chest plate) It's mild but it can cause me to have an intolerance to exercise and low lung capacity. I have the lung capacity of a little boy. No joke. I'm doing a 5K at the end of the month here in Tucson for the shooting victims back in January. Hoping to beat my time of 38 minutes from the last one. That was with a lot of stopping.
We're having a potluck today at school with all the teachers. They decided to do a mexican theme, of course, my archnemesis.
Also, AF should be here today just in time for parent orientation.

Jar Jar Cakes. Oh wait---everyone will probably hate that as much as they did Jar Jar Binks, except for the rabid fans, of course. Sorry--I"m bad at this.
