I'm currently in size 10 (UK) but they are big on me now so I need to invest in some size 8's... I am pretty much at goal weight and don't want to be any smaller than that!
  • I'm confussed with this juniors 2 !!! Lol I might be wrong but I think us size is 2 sizes smaller than uk so if yuor a us size 8 your really a 12 in most other places
  • I'm 5'3" and when I started here I was barely fitting into a 14, but refused to go to a 16 (It's taken me this long just to admit that! haha) and yesterday I went out and bought a size 10! Albiet they are from Old Navy, which fits large, but makes me feel awesome about it haha. Ideally I'd looove to be a 6, since I don't have super wide hips or much of a booty for my body, but I do have some pretty thunderish thighs. If I could fit them into a 6, I'd be beyond happy!
  • I'm 5'4 3/4 and a size 2-4. I'd like to make that just a 2. :)
Oh I weigh anywhere from 120-125

I want to be a very comfortable size 8

I am just now into size 10's so I really think 15 lbs and I'm done which would also let me hit the 101 lbs lost. FOR GOOD!

That's a hard one to answer. Why? here's my thoughts on it. When I was in my 20's and 30's I weighed in btwn 125 and 130lbs. I was a solid size 8. I am in my 40's and weigh in at 145lbs and I can range from a 6 to an 8 when trying on pants. I have never been a size 6. So if I lose another seven to ten pounds will I be a four. Doesn't seem right. Have they supersized American pants? That's my question. Any thoughts?

That's vanity sizing for you! They change the numbers around so that sizes are bigger than they used to be, so someone can buy what seems like a smaller size without knowing inches were added to it. It's just a trick to sell more pants by trying to boost your ego.

I'm 5'4" and would like to have my size 4 jeans fit loosely, which I imagine would be around 108 - 115 lbs. I lost 100 lbs 4 years ago and got down to 120, but have recently gained 20 lbs back due depression and inactivity. I really want to get back to where I was and lose a little extra for comfort.

UK sizes are probably more accurate. Companies have made sizes seem smaller to make us feel better. A US size 6 now is bigger than it used to be. They call it vanity sizing.

    Hi!
I'm 5'6" and 200 lbs. I've been as low as 125 and it was waaaayyyyyy too skinny (size 0) and everything in between. I'm happy around 140 or a size 6 or 8. I need to get out of my fat suit and into skinny jeans!

Im gonna say a 10 / 12 would make me happy. Im unsure about how I'd look having lost any more to go fit in anything less. Having been in much bigger sizes, I often wonder what will happen if I get excess skin. So a nice 10/12 will probably look better than say a 8 on me

My goal is a size 6 or 8. I currently am a size 10 but they are so snug that's why I started on MFP.
Yesterday I bought a size 8 summer pants on clearance as my goal to fit into for next summer! I hope they are too big for me then:)
I'm 5"-4.5". Good luck everyone! One day at a time.
  • I went from a size 16 to a size 6, but I really want pants that fit!!! My waist would rather be in a 7 or 8 and my butt wants to be in a size 5. So...baggy butt pants for me!!
  • I'm 5/1 and I'm currently a size 10/12; my goal is a 6 or an 8.
  • My goal is a US 4 / 6 I am 5'3'' and I am currently and 8/10

I was a size 12 when I started and am currently wearing size 6's, loosely. 4's are usually a bit unprofessionally tight.

They'll probably fit well once I've lost the last 10-13 pounds to get to goal. I'm not unhappy with my size right now, but the scale is WEIRD. Says I weigh 149 and I usually wear size 4 at about 130 pounds. I do not think I have more muscles now than I did then, I feel flabbier and less shapely than the last time I weighed 130 pounds. Could be simply my perceptions, not sure. But I'm going to keep going, regardless.

The difference between women's sizes and junior sizing is often cut. They are made for teenagers, often have lower rises and sized in odd numbers. Womens pants are usually made for a fully developed body, however each store caters to different body types. Like if I wear jeans from the gap they fit great, but if I get jeans from Anne Taylor they are often too roomy in the hip, and too tight in the waist.

The difference between the "w" sizes from what I gather is for a more round shape. Anyone who is a sz 14 or 16 say, can go into old navy and try on a 14w or a 14. One is for a more lean build, the other for a more fluffy build.

Not sure how it converts from UK to US sizes.. ?

But I started out at a 22, I'm currently a 16 and would like to be a 10. I have only been a 14 as an adult as my smallest so will be interesting to 'see' myself as a 10 but I like that size on my friends who are around my height (5'3") so figure I'll like myself too.
  • Ideally, I would love to be a size 8 bottoms and 10 on top! (I have a large bust!) Currently im a size 12 on bottoms and 12/14 on top!! Im 5'5" and at my heaviest was a size 18 on top and 14/16 on bottoms!!
