    D

Denise, I know exactly where you are coming from. Been there, done that, as they say (whoever they is  ). Might even still be there, wont know until the day unfolds. I was looking once again this morning at how many pounds I need to lose until I am officially overweight (as opposed to obese) and really didnt even get all that excited when I saw it wasnt all too many. I think I commented a few days ago that this journey is becoming a lot like a game of Monopoly....it goes on and on and on and on and we all know that a game of Monopoly can become quite monotonous.

For a while, I could look in the mirror and see that I was losing weight. Now I cant. I look and see the same fat person I was 5 months ago when I first started on MFP. I know it is all in my head. So, that is what I have to work on...my mind. My self-image. My self-confidence.

You have persevered this far. You have become stronger and healthier, and have inspired all of us one way or another. You just have to keep going. Are you happier now than you were when you first started? Do you want to go back to where you were? Because both of us know that is what will happen if you dont/cant recommit. I myself dont want to see the 200s again, but I know how possible that is. In the words of Nike, we both have to JUST DO IT.

Consider yourself kicked in the butt. We need you. We love you. And we want you to be healthy and happy. After all, you have the slippers

    Hey Everyone,

It is almost lunch time. Sorry, I have been busy all weekend. My sister, Angel, came down for a visit. she will be here about 7-8 days. She seems to be feeling pretty good. We went for lunch and pedicures yesterday. she is trying to get some time in at
the beach. But we have a storm brewing in the gulf, so the next few days look like bad weather. But it is nice to get to spend some quality time with her.

Kim, so sorry about your friends husband. My thoughts and prayers are with you both.

Welcome back Peggi, wish the weather would have been nicer for you last camping trip. Our last camping trip was in the dead of summer and it rained and then would get scorching hot, then rain again. It was miserable..

Elizabeth, we have stink bugs here, but not a problem. I only see one once in a while, but they surely do stink if you smash them.

Denise, You can stick to this, because you know you need to do this. I know how hard it is. I had to fight myself all weekend on trying to eat healthy, but I think I managed pretty good. I did have a Starbuck Frapachino yesterday (forgot to log it) My sister is addicted to them. That is actually all she really puts in her stomach. I did have a "lite" one though. So it wasn't as bad as it could have been. remember Bob Harper's quote --- "Get up and finish what you started" I love Bob Harper...

I have signed up for a 5K for Hospice.. I am going to do the walk not the run. My grandmother and aunt were both under hospice care when they passed. they were treated so nicely. the Hospice House was a wonderful place. So wish me luck. My goal is to raise $500 by November 12th, I have raised $80 in the last 2 days.. Gotta start more walking to get in shape..

Going to lunch, talk to you later. have a great day

Hi Karen, thanks for the welcome back, believe me, I missed you guys!!! So nice you are spending time with your sister, love her name! Have a great afternoon. Denise, you have this, you have come so far,it just gets old, someone said, kinda like a monopoly game, but we will see that light at the end of the tunnel, every one of us, and it will be worth it. Oh, Karen, good luck on your 5k!

Oh Kim, so sorry to hear that. I'm sure you were and are a great help to her during this difficult time. My thoughts are with you both. :flowerforyou:

One of my sons grandfathers, this one is on his step moms side, passed yesterday afternoon after a brief battle with cancer. He's in a better place but was a very loving and gentle man, such a great mentor to all... he will be missed so.

So many sad times mixed in with the good... guess that is the cycle of life but not always easy.

Evelyn & Kim -- hugs to you as you support loved ones around you. Catch up with us when you can.

Denise - good for you to voice your frustration and realize you have hit a rut. I thought the mall walking was an excellent idea to change up the scenery. Maybe that social butterfly that emerged, who didn't get a chance to spread her wings at the steer roast, is considering signing up for a fitness class somewhere over the winter to get out of the house? Your motivation has hit a plateau and it's time to mix things up; whether that means changing up food, working out differently or both. I have all the confidence in the world in you.

Peggy - So glad you are back, dry and warm. How are you feeling? Did the heating pads do the trick?

Karen - Congrats on the 5K .... we'll be cheering you on! Enjoy your visit with your sister.

Marianne - Did you manage to escape the cold bug that was flying around causing symptoms? Hope so.

Off to get more house stuff done & then class again tonight.

    Have a good one,
    Lori

Stressful work week expected. I'm stretching myself while trying to build a new position. Eeeeek!!!

****QUALIFIER*** I wanted to share my thought process the last few days…No, I am not looking for any feedback....just thought I’d be totally honest.

I do not plan to stop losing weight....THAT IS A FACT!!! Nothing in this world will change that. No matter what, no matter how hard it gets, no matter what stands in my way. And when maintenance starts; I will do it for the rest of my life. Period. End of story.

However, I'm thinking I'm not too sure the group thing is working for me. There is no doubt I have changed my ways of eating. And talking with the Sistas is so very helpful (emotionally) at times. But, I find myself getting irritated. I’m not going to get into all the details.

At least for the moment, I am not having food related irritations and am totally committed without hesitation.

Again, thought I would share. Please continue to send weekly weigh ins, although, after this challenge I would ask that someone take the weekly weigh in task if the Sistas create a 3rd challenge.

Please, I beg you, let me process through all the irritations going on in my head. Please don't say, "You can't go....please stay...." I'm not looking for all that; I'm just trying to be honest here and am not the type of person that can put on a facade.

Thanks Sistas for letting me vent.

Marianne, I would love to be working. Unfortunately there are not a lot of jobs around here. We are a tourist town and this time of year everything starts closing up, which makes things even worse. I keep looking all the time, I just can't go back to minimum wage though. It costs me more to travel back and forth to work than I make :(

Don't worry about me...I am in this for the long haul. I just have to get my head back on straight and get out of the chair.

    Take care,
    Denise

I'm sure you would love to work...keeps the day full! Sometimes too full. No sense in working if all it's paying for is the gas to get there and back.

I know you got this D! I have all the faith in the world in you.

Jail time???? How much time? We just finished signing up for insurance through my work for the first time. Steve has always carried the insurance. Since he retired, we only had 2 years of insurance which will end in Dec. OMG how flipping frustrating. Anyhoo, we got through it without killing each other.......the question....the wrong answer....repeat the question....tell me the wrong answer again...on and on and on. Communication!!!!! OMG! That's not what I asked! Follow me sistas?

Just wondering how long I would be jailed:bigsmile:

Fighting off cold symptoms since Saturday. Please please go away. Usually it takes about a month to kick in unless I fight it hard. And we all know that in a month what I will be doing....WEDDING! Ok... a little over a month.

Any suggestions? It has already started so it's too late for any vitamin (I think). Although, I did sleep like a baby last night; never moved. Must of been the Nyquil.

I am not touching the jail time question..no way. You can't hold me accountable for any of it.

Your cold sounds like the one I just knocked out while in TN. I just started taking over the counter cold medicine. day and night and kept it up until I knew I had kicked it. I was surprised how fast I actually got rid of it...only a week or so. I usually get one in Sept or Oct and keep it until March. Just keep drinking your water and taking your meds..you will knock it out in no time. Good Luck!!

Marianne wrote --- Hahahaha...when I first read your diary I thought it said amazing "gas"...Good day Miss L!

Too much amazing grass will most certainly cause amazing "gas" gigglesmile.gif

hippie7.gif I plead the 5th on what Denise was thinking amazing grass described.

Got on the scale this morning and have returned back to my beloved 229. However, I am not feeling secure in that because I seem to keep doing this fluctuation dance. Knuckling down on the nutrition, which I hope helps to stoke my metabolism to get past the fluctuation. Also ramping up the intensity this week in yoga. Last night in the interval class, I added plyometrics and kickboxing. One foot in front of the other, taking it day by day.

Vice President Biden is going to be in York, PA today. My Dad has decided he wants to go see him. In this case, crowds would drive me crazy. The traffic near the elementary school he is visiting is going to be absolutely insane. I'm going shopping with a friend on the other side of town.

Wishing you all a healthy prosperous day,

Marianne, your picture is exactly how I feel again this morning. Darn scale anyway. So today I am going to try to kill myself with exercise instead of kindness. I have dinner in the crock-pot and no other major plans for today, meaning I have a lot of time I can spend exercising..or attempting to exercise.

If I don't show back up here later, you know I either fell off the darn thing or I blew it up and am in jail.

Everyone have a super fantastic healthy day!!

Kickboxing...OMG! The last time I did that (years and years ago), I was sore for weeks. It sounds so fun though.

Sounds like a good plan! Hopefully, the secret service doesn't shut down the whole city...hahahaha. Years ago, I did security detail for Hilary Clinton (when she was First Lady) and they shut down every possible entrance into St. Paul.
Wishing you all a healthy prosperous day,

Hi Girls, just got back from Pain Doctor, who, by the way, has definitely earned that title!! I told him if he squeezed my shoulders one more time,he was going to need a doctor!!!!!!::noway: He was not amused, hahaha I can't tolerate much touching in certain places on my body, want me to name them????hahahahahaa He wants to do another procedure, so I have to mull this over. Hi Lori, you are such a busy girl, I know what kickboxing is, what is the other? You will either be exhausted or invigorated, lol. Is your dad going to give Biden a piece of his mind?? Tom Cruise has been in Pittsburgh making a movie for the last month, now, that might be worth a little traffic!!!! Denise, you goooooooooooo,I hear determination in that message!!!!! good going. How's your cold,Marianne? Hope getting better.I liked the cute picture, I hadn't seen that. I am going to take dogs for a walk now.I go to gyny on Thursday. I won't give a blow by blow on that appt,:blushing: have a good day everyone:heart:

Ah, I used to love a nyquil induced sleep! Often the only thing that would allow me to stop coughing enough to catch a few winks. I probably need to stock up on it soon as I so often too get a cold and/or bronchitis in the fall that lasts several months. Augh.

For the life of me, I cannot think of that nasal spray that is supposed to be really good for colds. My husband has used it and swears by it, I myself never had much success but then again I dont like nasal sprays at all. I think it starts with a "z" and I know it used to be very expensive...well, more expensive than a bottle of cough syrup. I shall wrack (or rack) my brain today trying to figure out what it is!

No need to wrack (rack) your brain. There is no way anything is going up this nose!!!! By choice not cuz it's stuffed. The Nyquil at night is doing a great job so far. I just wish there was something we could take that would CURE a cold. Gotta let it run its course....ugh. It is definitly here to stay for awhile.

OK, I survived...I think. The jury is still out on that one. But I sure can tell I haven't been doing my workouts like I was. It sure doesn't take long for the body to go back to it's old ways once you take a few days off.

I need to get more serious about this and today I had motivation (besides the scale). And I am going back to yesterday's question...how many calories do we burn by smacking a husband??? Mine deserves it today and I am in the mood to burn calories. smiley-sport011.gif

Does the grass help? ***partly serious***

The amazing grass brand of green food is convenient and not horrible tasting. I started drinking it regularly a few years ago, recommended by a holistic doctor. The green foods helped when I was anemic. It's a convenient snack or mini meal.

    Biden in York Update --
My Dad, indeed, went to see the Vice President's arrival to a whopping crowd of 40-50 people. Dad said there were more York City Police and other security than spectators. The school is not in a great section of town and there isn't much parking.

Denise -- Great job on the workout. Love your smiley's form... solid jab!

Peggy - Whatcha doing this week now that camp close up is completed?

Marianne - hope the cold symptoms clear up quickly.

Back from shopping, lunch at TGI Fridays, and now ready to wash the floors. Have class later tonight.

    See ya,
