    Quick check in ladies-

Nkster - thank you for explaining what stripping the membranes was. Don't think I've ever head that terminology! Although it sounds interesting, I would rather have that done then being induced so strip away!!

Luna, I can't wait to see Halloween pics of your costume!! Too cute, even if it does hide your belly! To answer your question- Yes we completed our "The Bun Maker" and "Bun in the Oven" costume!! Hubby bought a handle bar mustache to go with the costume. I think their too cute....Will take pics and post when we get back!

Atynk- I also get that magazine at home and love to read some of their articles!!! Keep up sposted!

Svgarcia- I'm estatic I'm having a boy!! Although, I had been praying and did extensive research about babies gender. So I was mentally prepared to hear I was having a girl- LOL

BmFrazie- buying a house and having a baby - yowzers. Stressful enough!! Take a deep breathe, and if you are up to it clear the space as you are planning. I think it'll make you feel much better about your decision!

Heather- You are defintiely prepared. Hang in there, we're all praying & rooting for ya!! Hope you have a easy going weekend and that Charlee arrives soon!! Can't wati to meet her!

Picked up the bedding last night and the lady was kind enough to drop the price to $30. We got home, washed everything and semi set it up in the room. Much to my dismay (and I think Heather might have mentioned this) the crib skirt is too short!! You can see it through the rails but I wanted it to go all the way down to the floor....Grrr!! Other than that the room looks great!! We picked out paint color last night so that will be next project!!

Headed out of town after work today- You guys take care- Heather be safe and see ya'll on Monday!

Heater - stripping membranes sounds fantastic! Well not really, but I hope you have a good outcome. Is that something customary you can request? I got see my dr. today; maybe I will ask them. Glucose screening day!

Atynk - Cool about the spread in the magazine! I hope your baby comes soon too.

Svgarci - H*ll yes, I am still drinking coffee (I went ahead and censored myself  ). I have given up sushi, deli meat, alcohol, tanning, smoking (I was a social drinking smoker), heavy weights, hard core workouts, etc. etc. etc. but I drew the line at my coffee. I LOVE LOVE LOVE coffee. The first dr. apt I had we sat down with the nurse for about 30 minutes and essentially went through this pregnancy handbook they gave me. When we got to caffeine and she told me mg allowed a day and I realized it was an 8 oz. cup, I let her know I have at least twice that a day and she looked at me and said, "our Moms and Grandmothers kept pots of coffee on all day when they were pregnant." So I still have my coffee everyday. I did kick my diet coke habbit so my morning coffee is all I have as far as caffeine goes.

Good job ladies on the goals! I did not work out last night but got some cleaning done around the house. Paranormal Activity was way scary, although not quite as scary as the others. After Eric left this morning and I was still home getting ready for work, I kept looking behind me to make sure there were no ghosts. :blushing: This weekend we have a friend coming in from MI and are having some other friends over for a going away for another friend moving to AZ tonight. I will finish painting the nursery tomorrow! And hopefully do our Target registry. Hope you all have great weekends!

Ashley I was meaning to tell you that after Paranormal Activity 2 I kept having nightmares that I was being dragged out of my bed by my foot, out of my room, and down the stairs to the basement....needless to say Al and I haven't even talked about going to see PA3 lol! Evidently we are both weenies! haha! And it isn't necessarily "customary" to get your membranes stripped, but a lot of doctors will do it when they are checking your cervix anyways and might not even tell you. There are risks of your bag of waters rupturing, which in my case I was willing to risk since I'm so close to my due date. And I will be completely honest....if it weren't for this horrible rib pain I wouldn't even be attempting any "interventions" (ie. stripping membranes, acupuncture, nipple stimulation, "relations", etc.)...but with the fear of being induced or having a broken rib...I'm willing to do some natural things to try and speed up the process. There is a due date for a reason and the average gestation of a first baby is actually 41wks and 2 days...so take that for what it is. I was very adamant about not doing anything and "letting her come when she is ready" even if that meant 42 weeks (the longest my doctor is willing to go over my due date before doing some medical intervention)....but at the end you get so anxious and so very uncomfortable, which is the reason why so many women are in their doctor's office BEGGING to get induced or at home trying every ridiculous remedy to get the baby out! Not all women have it rough at the end, and I pray that none of you do...Just want to make it clear that I'm not being a hypocrite and I still will refuse to ask to get induced, but bring on the natural eviction process! :) Oh and good luck at your appt today! My glucose test wasn't bad. The stuff did make me a little shaky so I suggest having a nonsugary snack to have after they take your blood. Let us know how your appt goes!

Babeed - sounds like your nursery is really coming along! I'm hoping to get started this weekend, at least getting the room organized etc. We don't have any of our nursery furniture yet but...hopefully we can get some stuff this weekend. I'm supposed to go crib/bassinet shopping with my mom and MIL so hopefully that happens! :o)

Heather - you are getting so close! It is all so exciting - I hope your acupuncture and other natural eviction techniques help! Thinking of you and wishing the best! :flowerforyou:

Happy Friday all! I'm so glad the weekend is finally here :o) It's going to be a busy one as usual and I'm hoping I can get a lot of things accomplished! Including some work outs!

Well, busy day at work today must get back at it, have a fab day ladies

    Hi ladies.

Wanted to let everyone know that I just came back from the specialist this morning and the U/S shows that baby's little brain is clear of all cysts. Brain, head, and heart are all working great!!!! He is currently 1lb and 11 oz. :) The doctor was kind enough to give us a DVD and of couse more pics. Baby was moving a lot this morning and we caught him sucking his thumb!!! HA! It was a relief and I was just happy to see him moving freely and sucking away and opening and closing his mouth. Thank you all for the well wishes and everyone that prayed for us. What a GREAT way to start the weekend!!!! Yay!

Elce (love that name, btw!): Hooray for no cysts!!!! That must be such a relief!! That is a great way to start the weekend! :drinker: Seeing him suck his thump must have been adorable.

Rayna: Have fun nursery shopping! Good luck!

Better Balance: I haven’t seen any of those movies – they freak me out too much! Sounds like you have a full and productive weekend schedule d – enjoy your company!

Babeed: What a great deal for your bedding! Nice! What color paint did you pick out?

Heather: Sounds like you are more than ready for your little girl! I hope she comes soon for you! Enjoy your pedi!! Oh, and I know if YOU say to not workout, that I better do it! Haha

Luna: Have fun at the parties! Too bad the dress hides your bump, but I bet it’s still cute!

Svgarcia: I have been trying to ween myself off coffee – I’m at less than half a cup a day now.

Atnyk: That’s amazing! How did you get asked for that? Such a great magazine!

Hello ladies! I won't make you think I'm off somewhere having my baby this morning :) I love that you guys care  So yes I'm STILL pregnant lol. I'm still a bit crampy...not as bad as yesterday and I had some good contractions last night...but nothing this morning. I'm still bleeding a little, but that's normal too. So maybe my acupuncture this afternoon will help things get going.

I feel like I'm ALL ready for the baby to come...the bags are packed, the room is ready, people have told me after she is born they will make meals for at LEAST 2 or more weeks (what a blessing) for us, my hair is done, I'm getting a pedicure tonight....I'm so ready...now if she would just get the memo! lol

atynk/andrea- That is SOOO awesome! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Women's Health magazine! How did they ever get in contact with you?! That is so cool! Well please keep us updated!

Brenda YAY for an u/s soon!

I hope all of you ladies have an awesome weekend! I can't believe it is already the END of October and this is the last weekend of the month! So crazy... Well I wish you all a very healthy and happy day! Take care of yourselves and those babies!

I'm SOOOO excited for you!!! Can't wait. :) and its not even MINE!! HA!!!
    Enjoy the pedi.

I do however have the dumbest question to ask? What do you mean that you have your hair done? I've been hearing this a lot lately with prenant women that they get all ready to give birth. Ok, so I just picture someone doing their hair and not sleeping on it. ;D Not sure if I'm understanding it. LOL.
  • jchecca: Happy Belated 27th Birthday! Sounds like it was amazing!

mistibergman: Thanks! You made me feel so much better about it. Congrats on your little guy's grades!

babeed854: So glad to hear that you're feeling better!! Fingers crossed that this is the new trend for you! Awesome deal on the bedding! I'm sure the room still looks great even if the bedskirt isn't optimal length. As soon as the room is painted it will all pull together!

abeare: Hopefully things will subside with work and that those back spasms vanish! Fingers crossed for you too!

taldie01: We didn't find out. But it's still very possible to get completely ready for the baby's arrival. There aren't as many options in the neutrals as there are for 'boy' or 'girl' specifically, but still plenty of options. I've been using a lot of pastels including blue, green, yellow, and purple. Hope this helps...? And if I can add, we too waited to really start getting 'things together', and now I feel like time is flying!!! This second half of my pregnancy has been non-stop prep, and I wish just a little that I had started sooner.

andreamichelle82: While I'm sure it can be frustrating, listen to doctor's orders (for now). It will likely be a short term thing until they can confirm that everything is as it should be with baby. Chin up and looking forward! Sending positive thoughts your way...

nkster781: Thanks for the info!!!! Good to know!

Imperfect511: Things can get overwhelming quickly, but find a relaxation technique that works for you and your lifestyle. The last thing you want is for anxiety to build up at such a beautiful time in your life. You've managed til now!! Remember, the human spirit is an amazing thing that can adapt and push through especially when things are looking like too much for one to handle. Keep using your workouts for whatever de-stressing they can lend, and maybe try talking to your little ones. You would be amazed what children are able to understand, and how 'grown up' they can act when prompted.

Heather: You are so right. Not having time/making time to workout this past week makes me want to that much more next week. I won't let it get away from me! And so happy that you are READY!! What a great unstressed way to feel right before baby gets here. I hope I'm in the same state of mind by then! And I don't blame you for trying the natural remedies. My SIL had a bruised rib by the time she had her second, and she tried everything.

    atynk: Thats amazing!!!!

svgarcia: I still drink coffee. I'm a pretty firm believer in 'everything in moderation'. I have two cups in the morning, and its usually a blend of regular and decaf, so it probably equates to just over 1 cup of regular caffeinated coffee/day. Awesome job on the 5k.

Lunarokra: Pirate outfit sounds super cute! Good job on the walk. Have fun this weekend!

bmfrazie: Sounds like a fun weekend! I hope the hip doesn't keep acting up. And it might be a blessing in disguise that you are purchasing a house right before baby. That is just an additional source of stress that can probably be spared.

Better_Balance_20: Hope you have a great weekend entertaining! And with the registry. It is fun, but can be time consuming, so heads-up.

emrogers: Such awesome news!! Glad the appointment went well!

♥Rayna♥: Have fun getting the room started!!!

I'm really excited for the weekend!!! Tomorrow night (Halloween party) should be a blast, and on Sunday I am heading to my parents house to do a practice run of the lunch we will be serving at the Baby Shower. And I love cooking so I'm very excited! Still a lot to do before the party tomorrow, but nothing that can't be handled! Like Rayna, I hope to start getting the baby room together very soon. Hopefully as early as next week, even though furniture probably won't arrive until mid-December :grumble: But I want to start searching for the wall decals, and the room is getting its paint touch-up Monday so I should be on track. Don't know how much time i will have to check in over the weekend, but if nothing else I will probably get yoga in tomorrow before I get myself ready for the party, and definitely getting something in on Sunday. I need to get back on track!!!

Hope you ladies have a Wonderful Halloween Weekend!!!
Remember, its not just for kids!

Elce lol you crack me up! I mean I just got my hair colored so I won't have to worry about getting my hair done again for at least 8-12 weeks. But your idea could be fun too :)

And just a reminder to everyone...we are almost at that point where we've reached 500 posts on our board. At 500 posts we get "locked out" and it will start basically a part 2. The 500th post it will show a highlighted link to click on for the "part 2" where we can continue to post until November rolls around and we start a whole new forum. I just don't want anyone getting lost in the land of "where did everyone go?!!?" like last month lol!

Heather- Your pics are really great!!!! Hopefully Charlee decides to greet you with here presence in a day or two!! Good Luck if it happens this weekend!!!

Svgarcia - I gave coffee up for the first three months, (made me feel sick) then went back, to about 2 cups per day. Sometimes 3 - 4. Just can't quite stop and completely go with out coffee. :)

Luna - Have fun at your Halloween Parties!!! I'm sure the costume will look great!

Babeed - That's an awesome deal on a bedding set. I can't seem to find any I like and I'm not sure on spending around 80 bucks on one either. We'll see...... Have a good weekend!

Ashely - You sound like me.....I think I've gave up quite a bit and I really just love coffee, and feel like I deserve it actually! LOL. Your nurse is right, tons of our mothers, grandmothers, aunts and lots of other people drank coffee and tons of people do way worse while pregnant, so that makes me feel like it isn't so bad. LOL - my hubby likes the PA movies, I can't watch them, I spend way to much time alone and would totally freak myself out!!!

Rayna - Have fun shopping this weekend!!!! Good luck on starting your nursery, that's my plan too.

Elce - Yay, so glad to hear your appt. went well. Awe, my baby was sucking her thumb during the whole U/S. It's so cute. Couldn't get a good pic. of her mouth because her fist was in the way, but it was still super cute!!!!

Andrea - Take it easy and hopefully things will get better for you soon!!!!

Atnyk - Good Luck with things if your baby decides this weekend is arrival time!!!! :)

Rosanna - Have a fun weekend and enjoy your party!!!! Next week's a new week!!! Just have fun tomorrow!!! You deserve it!

AFM: Another busy weekend. Taking my son to a haunted house after wrestling tonight, then to bed early (Hopefully)! Wrestling tournament in the morning, at least this is the last super far one, last time I'll be getting up at 4:00 on a Sat. for a while anyway. Sunday - hubby is going to help me move my computer desk and actually everything heavy in the comp. room upstairs and I will paint the baby's room!!!! Yay, goin with white, then will accent with pink and green now instead of brown, but might do both!!

Next week is a super busy week, so glad Zack has the week off to help w/ Isaac, I am going to be runnin around taking care of a million things, on top of work, and the daily mom/wife thing! This week was better, but I worked late everyday this week. So ready for things to slow down.

OK I do have a lil' RANT!!!!!! My boss planned a vaca to Mexico for next week, well work is way to busy for him to be gone, so he rescheduled it for the 1st week in March!!!! HELLOOOOOOOOO- I'm having a baby mid Feb!!! Who the h*ll is going to be at the office????? I'm not and absolutely refuse to even forward the calls to my house that soon. Am I rude or is he not thinking clearly??

Anyway, hope you all have a GREAT weekend!!!!

    I have a little rant:

So I talked to my mom last night and she wanted to uninvitedly :grumble: go with my uncles (the new grandparents) to visit their daughter in Arvin Cali (about 6-8 drive). So I said why did you want to go, and she says to meet the baby. Ok, well then I proceed to ask her, if she's coming to my U/S next Thurs ( I had invited my parents since the day I scheduled my appointment) Guess what: she says she had forgotten! :explode: She then says yes I am, yeah right! I feel :brokenheart:

Babeed- oh and Ill be waiting to see your costume pix.

Misti-Yeah you might want to reiterate to the boss " hey Ill be on FMLA when you're on vacation. Don't stress girlie, the workplace always has to figure it. Yay for sleeping in and best wishes to Isaac.

Heather-Hot, sexy momma. You guys are a beautiful couple and your pics are amazing. Thanks for sharing. :flowerforyou:

Elce- I got my hair colored at 9 weeks and plan to get it colored again around Dec for the holidays! My stylist works from home on the weekends an it's in the garage so she keeps the garage door open and last time I had a towel. I think they don't recommend coloring due to hormonal changes, but no actual research has been conducted on how it will affect the baby.

Yay! On your appointment. Your lil guy made sure you knew he's in there.

Rosanna-Enjoy! I love partying, but miss the :drinker:

I ran my 5k this morning with my son. My goal was to run about 9:00 miles and I ran 9:09 miles so I am happy with that. My son beat me for the first time ever! Our times ended up being 26:47 (him) and 28:21 for me. I think that I have done pretty good this week with my goals. However, I already know what I want to work on for next week.

Today we started the process of rearranging the house to make room for the baby. The office will become the baby room and that means lots of moving of stuff to fit our office into the family room. I have already made the realization that this is a project that will take us a few weekends to finish up.

I hope everyone has had an outstanding Saturday!

Misti I would just remind him of his timing. He might not even realize what he did! Hopefully that's the case.

Brenda I'm sorry you felt like your mom wasn't looking forward to such an exciting time for you....I have felt like that a lot in my life with my parents and have grown to just expect it and I give them the option of coming to things but if it doesn't happen I just expect it. It sucks but it is their loss if they don't want to be a part. Hopefully she will make up for it and be super excited to go and be supportive for you like you need.

Way to go bmfrazie on your run! And how fun to do it with your son!

Well I'm still pregnant...lol I've tried all the natural eviction methods I can think of. At this point I'm just gonna let things happen when they are gonna happen. I have my next appt on Tuesday and then going to see the chiro after for some more acupuncture. I thought having a Halloween baby might be fun...but at this point I'm not holding my breath.

Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend. Hope all of you ladies in the North East are doing okay and managing to stay safe amongst all the snow!

I still have a week to go. I know I shouldn't be complaining...but after trying to conceive for 7 years and then waiting 39 weeks I am just so anxious for the "grand finale" of meeting this little miracle and seeing her face! I hope you all understand.

Yay - I found the new thread! :)

Hang in there, Heather! Hope things progress naturally in the next few days and your waiting will be over! I can understand the long ttc part, but can't relate to the uncomfortable waiting in those last weeks since my first was a preemie! I actually looked at meeting her early as part of the bright side of having her at 30 weeks (although I wouldn't recommend going that route! Ha!).

I'm still camped out on my sofa playing my own waiting game - four more days until my appointment and finding out whether or not baby is okay. Can't wait for it to get here yet nervous about it at the same time.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend, and Happy Halloween!

Good morning ladies and Happy Halloween! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and manage to find Part 2 for today...OMG I can't believe tomorrow is NOVEMBER 1st!?!? Where does the time go?

Amy R I pray everything is perfect and your appointment will be a very happy one!

I had a pretty good relaxing weekend. It is a far cry my "norm"...but then again I guess I am due to have a baby any day now, so what is normal really? The majority of us will experience this so I figured I'd share...I did lose my mucous plug this weekend (which is pretty gross) and the bleeding has stopped. I was reminded how much I hate wearing pads and am not looking forward to it after the baby is born! On Saturday I felt amazing and the weather was perfect at a sunny 70* so we went and drove to the city and walked around a lot. We then ordered Thai food and watched some scary movies. Then yesterday I stayed in my pj's all day and lounged on the couch while Al did some winterizing of the house (which I think is quite funny since tomorrow is supposed to be 75*F). It was nice to relax but my mind kept screaming at me that I needed to workout...but laying on the couch with a heating pad on my ribs won out. I'm glad I still have that voice though...that means that despite the fact that I'm large and in pain, my mind still wants to workout. This is actually quite comforting. When I was trying to conceive there was a specific member of the ttc board that told me that once I got pregnant it was very unlikely I'd continue to workout and that especially after the baby was born it wasn't going to happen....Well I'm not one to hold a grudge but that really rubbed me the wrong way and anytime I'd feel like being lazy I'd hear her say that and get up and do my workout and feel a million times better afterwards.

Anyways, I'm about to go walk on the treadmill for an hour. Maybe it will drop this baby lower...or maybe it will just make me have to pee 20 times...either way it will get me moving :) Have a great day everyone!

Come on Halloween baby! I can't imagine how anxious you must be. I hope she comes soon.

Amy, I hope the next few days go by quickly and that you get good news at your appointment.

We had a busy but productive weekend. We got to spend some time with friends and got the nursery painting finished! Here is a pic:

    FinishedMural.jpg

It looks really cute. We got some random stuff cleaned out of the room and closet and also registered at Target. I got a little walking in yesterday while trying to search for our friends' dog. He's been missing for a week but they keep seeing him but he won't come to anyone because he's so freaked out. It is amazing how much they are doing to try to find him and how much help they're receiving. Hopefully he'll come home soon.

My goals for this week are following:
    yoga Wednedsay
    register for my test
    run/walk one day
    strength and cardio one day
try my prenatal yoga DVD this weekend
    STUDY!
clean out guest closet to transfer summer clothes from baby closet to guest closet

I will be glad when the Halloween candy is gone too. Stupid Butterfingers.....Hope you all have a great week!

Heather, I’ve been told by several people that by the time I got pregnant I wouldn’t be working out anymore, and to see their faces now when I tell them I still go to the gym 3-4 times a week is priceless! They’re sadly the first ones to criticize working out while pregnant too, but I think that’s more because they feel guilty that they’re overweight and too unmotivated to workout while the pregnant woman beside them can run circles around them. Given the time in your pregnancy, lying on the couch with a heat pad isn’t laziness, it’s listening to your body. I’m sure once Charlee is born and the chaos of the first few days (or weeks, don’t rush yourself, listen to your body and daughter) passes you’ll be back to working out. You’ll probably loose the baby weight faster than any of us because of how dedicated you are. I wish I could be that dedicated!

Amy, fingers crossed for you that you get good news soon!

Ashley, love the nursery, very cute!

So I just found out that my best friend settled on a date for her wedding (finally booked) and its less than three months after I give birth! This wouldn’t be an issue if I wasn’t the maid of honor! I’m already stressed about loosing the baby weight in time and freaking out about having to leave the baby to host her bachelorette party. Bobby thinks I’m crazy for not wanting to leave my two month old baby for most the night.
So to all the moms, when was the first time you were several hours (8-10hrs) away from your baby? And to all you first time moms, am I crazy for feeling this way before I even have my baby? Oh, I should mention that we plan on breastfeeding too.

On another note, here are my goals for the week.
    Monday- Yoga DVD
Tuesday- body toning class + walking for an hour with another preggo lady!
    Wednesday- Zumba class
    Thursday- OFF
    Friday- Zumba Class
    Saturday- Walking & circuit training
Sunday- Off (or cooking healthy yummy treats for the next week)
I also want to pay more attention to my water intake, I think its slipping a little.

Ashley - The room looks AMAZING!! I love it! :)

Heather - I hope you meet Charlee very soon!! I know we're all anxious for you.

I found out yesterday that my grandma is making us a baby quilt and will be using some material from at least one of my mom's baby dresses. :) I'm SO excited about it!! She makes baby quilts for all the new babies and I had honestly completely forgot about it until my mom informed me yesterday. The fact that she's using some material from one of my mom's dreses makes it that much more special. I can't wait!
I think I decided on the Coco Dot bedding from Pottery Barn. As much as I want the crib bumper to complete the set, I don't think I'm going to get it since I can't really use it anyway for safety reasons. If it all came in a package deal, maybe, but it's $99 just for the bumper and pretty much useless so I may as well use that money somewhere else. We also decided to go with dark wood furniture. I can't wait to get started ordering stuff. I found a crib, mattress, and dresser set I like from Wal-Mart and a crib, dresser, and changer set I like from JC Penney. I'm not sure which I'll go with. I need to check out Baby Depot too. I have a hard time buying stuff online because I like to feel and see the quality. I've noticed a lot of them are made of soft pine wood and show all kinds of dents and scratches. I want a 4-in-1 crib, but if it's going to show tons of wear by the time we're ready to convert it to a big-girl bed then I don't see the point.
H_82 - Let us know when you get your furniture. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the JCP quality. I've never ordered furniture from there, but am definitely interested.

We went to a really small Halloween party Saturday night. Eric and I went as a guido and guidette. lol (We're Jersey Shore watchers...lame I know. lol) I drew on his abs with a marker and bought him the douchiest clothes we could find. He used an orange marker on his face to make it really orange. haha!! I tried to use really dark makeup, but wasn't about to put marker on my face, washable or not. He was fist pumpin' all night. Funny stuff! I put a picture as my default.

I've slacked WAY too much on exercise the past 2 weeks. I've lost a lot of motivation, but I REALLY need to get back on track. I feel so much better when I work out. I feel like I haven't been eating much because I just don't have a huge appetite.

    Goals this week:
    Jog/walk at least 3 times
    Yoga 2 times
Figure out what to wear for our holiday pictures next Sunday.
