    Beeps, good luck accepting!

I'm with you in that I cannot ingest many calories otherwise I gain...big time!
This whole 'starvation mode" is a myth IMO.

I need to adjust and accept as well.

    And...take in more water!

    TGIF!!

sdereski - awwww, what a cutie... she must keep you entertained for sure! kids do say the darndest things!

KellySue - awesome!! another pound gone for GOOD =)

Active rest day for me but I kicked my usual morning walk up a notch as I am looking forward to turkey and stuffing and mashed potatos and gravy and pumpkin pie with whipped cream on Sunday! I've been putting lots of extra calories in the bank for this and I intend to make a hefty withdrawl, lol.
We are having a quiet dinner this year, just the 4 of us so I am thankful for that! =)

    What's everyone's plans?

Whatabroad - she certainly does keep me entertained. Some of the stuff that comes out of her mouth leaves mine hanging open. LOL!

Your turkey dinner sounds similar to mine. My youngest son and his wife are coming home, but will be staying out at camp, so we are joining them there tomorrow for dinner. I'm to bring dessert.

I may be cooking dinner on Monday, but will see. Depends on who is all invited to camp for dinner. It is my DIL's sister's camp, so it's not like I can invite anyone I want. So, I bought my turkey JIC.

bw-what marathon are you training for?

My lifting was good and I came back to the "free" thanksgiving lunch put on by my company. So, I chose only turkey, steamed veggies and GRAVY! Yum. I. Am. Full. (I skipped the potatoes, stuffing and pumpkin pie with whip cream.)

Tonight we are celebrating "International Day of the Girl" with our 11-year-old-daughter....don't know "how", yet, but it will NOT include "food".

Have a great weekend, 40+ ers! Especially to fellow Canadians celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend....

Happy Friday everyone! Very happy to have the work week over. The next few weeks are going to bring brutal work hours for me, so I'm hoping just to stay on track with my nutrition and workout when I can.

I love Thanksgiving dinner! I'm lucky as turkey and vegetables will fill me up very nicely thank you.

Looking forward to some long workouts this weekend. Enjoy the next couple days everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving to the Canadian Cool Kids!

Finally sunny here after a few days of gloom. Went to the farmers' market this morning and came home with a 6+ lb cauliflower, among other things..... Well, when the price is per head of course you've got to get the biggest one! Figuring some will get roasted, some will get made into soup, but it's at least a few recipes worth of cauliflower. I can't bring myself to do cauliflower "crust" pizza though--I just love my bread too much.

Brunch with friends later on, then I may take myself shopping and buy some clothes that actually fit. I am having a hard time wrapping my head around being smaller and while clothes look a lot better on me now, I still find shopping a little emotionally weird. Will try to hit a restorative yoga class this evening--I'm finding it's a nice way to stretch out and relax.

Ahhhh, the weekend! A long one at that.

RM- that's a big head of cauliflower! I can't bring myself to doing that pizza crust either. When I splurge for pizza, I want the real thing! Our Farmer's Market is done now so back to the second rate grocery store for me. Enjoy your shopping! Buy something to accentuate those lovely curves you are uncovering!

sdereski- I did a half marathon in August, I'm not anywhere close to being in marathon mode!

I have an 8 miler planned this morning and then tackle some of these housekeeping chores that get shoved to the side during summer, not to mention, break out the winter coats/boots bin. Sigghhh, it seems it's coming much to soon.

    Enjoy your weekend kids!!

Hello!!! I went to Bikram yesterday!! :drinker: :drinker: I just love the way it makes me feel. I lifted today. Long one too. Yay for Saturdays, more time to lift, no rush. I am going to my niece's birthday party today and there will be lots of food. Saving most of my calories for that.  I still want to eat in moderation and choose the healthier food.

RM, rock those new smaller clothes!!!! :drinker: :drinker: :flowerforyou:

    HAPPY WEEKEND!!!! :flowerforyou:

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, bikram!! Oh,I *do* remember that *feeling* and it was SUH-WEET!! Nice.

I did my scheduled cardio today. And,my weight is up (although TOM is around the corner), but it's as if I've erased the last 6 weeks of calorie-cutting by one scale reading. I HATE THAT.

Hi, I want to join in! I'm 42,mother of one 3 year old, I work at a desk all day. I was fit as a kid, gymnastics, then did some climbing and mountain-biking over the years but weight always a bit over where I really wanted. Anyway, when I got pregnant and after having Zak I stopped really doing any exercise. I was feeling rubbish, aches and pains all over. So, I decided back in April to sort it out, joined a gym and did C25K, wow, I never have been a runner but this got me moving, I loved the way it built up. Then I got a strength routine, squats, step ups, pull ups, push ups etc. I have a long way to go but it progresses.

Initially it was all about the scales but now with a few pounds off I'm maintaining a small deficit most days but focussing on getting fit. Feeling fit makes me feel strong, happy and confident and I want to keep going. My weight and shape I hope to continually improve. Sorting out my neck, shoulder and hip issues with a really good physio/biomechanics guy has helped too-being fit enough to get fit!

Have a great weekend fellow 40+ers!

Helsybels, you are doing awesome!!! Keep up the good work! Shoulder and hip issues, ouch, that sounds like me. What kind of treatment/therapy are you doing? I have arthritis in all joints and a labral tear in my left hip, tendonitis in my left shoulder. I went to physical therapy for a while but one can't go to therapy forever. I would say the issues are "under control" but I am so active that they do act up once in a while. I just deal with the occasional bothersome/pain and keep on trucking. The worst thing I can do is to sit and do nothing. :flowerforyou:

Alf, thanks for replying to me! You are amazing, keeping on trucking and back in the old jeans. I don't have the medical issues like you, I had an issue when I started to exercise again with no power in my right hip and pain in my neck from an old injury. Luckily all soft tissue stuff and largely posture-related. He used myofascial release and prescribed foam-rolling, all very painful but worthwhile! He restored thoracic spine movement - useful for exercise.. Now he says off you go, here are some shoulder exercises to strengthen where you are weaker, come back if you need to. Astounding, I have paid a lot over the years on my neck and never got it sorted before!
Glad you had a good Bikram session.
Love to the 40+ers out there! Happy Mondays to you all.

Happy Monday! I lifted today. I originally planned to do some cardio as well, but I was just tired after I got done with the lifting.

I am having a blah day today. My great aunt passed away yesterday. I was close to her growing up. She taught me how to swim when I was young and I just have lots of fond memories of her.

Happy Tuesda! Did the aerobics and resistance bands today. I will tell you that I definitely feel it. I lifted yesterday so between the two I am feeling a bit sore right now especially in my arms and shoulders!! It's all worth it in the end!

I have been at two meetings already today and now I have a desk full of paperwork to do so I will catch you all later. Have a great day!

    I have GREAT news!

Although today is not my official weigh in, and by tomorrow I might be back up in the 200s, the scale gave me a great Tuesday morning.
