    Morning Kids,

Hope all of you are well and in good spirits.

I woke up sore and ready to take on this new day. I have extreme fit again today and I look forward to my torturous instructor. I remember a few weeks back that I was concerned about having a new instructor and not having boxing anymore. I actually like his versatility and how he switches up the workouts, afterall I do bore easily and this keeps it interesting for me.

Sdereski--Stretching out feels wonderfulllllllllllllllllllllllll  Yuk about the rain and snow. I am not looking forward to that.

Larro--Pictures often takes the place of words and you do it so eloquently. Hope you are well and still full of energy.

Ruby--I understand your plight. I am not motivated working out at home and we do not have a fitness center at work. Camraderie is more my speed and thrive better in an instructor led environment. Ahhh good ole Bio Freeze. I still have some in my medicine cabinet. I hope your son feels better and you do not get sick.

Alf--You like making us worry I see (lol). Hope all is well with you and yours.

Beeps--- there is nothing like the element of surprise and it appears the class you took was indeed that; a welcomed challenge and surprise.

    KellySue--Hope you are well

    Have a great day everyone.

Good morning everyone, I hope you all have a great day! Weather is supposed to be 71 today and just about perfect. I will be going outside for some cardio after work tonight. Poor son is still sick today and at home resting. I hope this passes for him soon.

Beeps- Wow on your lifting class!

Ruby- Hope your son is better soon. Have fun with all of that construction

Larro- Now that's a sandwich!!! I don't think I could finish half of that!

    Hi to everyone else.

I got my two mile run in today- it was a slow two miles though. Will do circuit workout tomorrow and then rest on Friday before my 5k on Saturday. I am leaving work early today as my hubby has an appointment later this afternoon.

    Have a good day all!

    Hello All You Cool Kids,

First I want to thank everyone that assisted me in finding the new thread. I am still new to all of this and feel challenged some time. I think about my mother and how she thinks about computers and think to myself please don't let me go there. LOL!

CG said to say hello to everyone. She can't read the thread on her iPhone. I told her that I had the same problem.

I am about wedding out for the summer. I am going to to my thrid one of the summer. Plus next month is my son's wedding! Although I do have a MOG dress. I would be freaking out if I was that close to the date with no dress.

I went to the doctors yesterday and they said my A1C was 8.5 and now they are changning my medicine again. UGH! I think the high blood sugar has a lot to due with it being so hard to lose weight. But I am determined to make it through it!

I hope that everyone is doing well.

KS- I hope that your mother gets better soon.

Caramel - I think that you need to do what will make you happy as far as surgery goes.

Beeps - Glad you are back home and hope that your back gets better soon.

Sdereski - I think that it is so awesome that you have someone to work out with. I kind of wish that I had someone too.

Ruby - I hope that your son gets to feeling better soon.

    Hello all.

Emm's Mom, glad to see you got back on. We've been missing you.

    I've been doing the whole laundry thing today. I was waiting for my favorite shorts to get out of the dryer so I was going around in my underwear. Then when they did get dry I was busy doing dishes and didn't get dressed until I had to run over to Mamma's just a little bit ago. {anyone looking in my windows will get what they deserve}

Yesterday was my sister's birthday. {her and BB King} We are all going out to the Chinese place in Marianna tonight to celebrate. Well just Margie, Sister, BIL and I, not BB. Speaking of Blues Masters, I bought eight CD's at the various thrift stores yesterday. At a dollar each you worry more about the space they will take up in the closet more than the cost. I got Peter Tosh, Muddy Waters, Big Head Todd and The Monsters, David Byrne, Bob Dylan, Jeff Beck and a couple of Chicago Blues collections. I've ripped them to my PC. Now I need to record a copy and put the originals in the closet for safe keeping.

Also got a Polo flannel shirt and a nice Dockers jacket. Now if it will just cool off enough I can wear them. At 1530 it's 90F with a heat index of 101. I wouldn't want any of the snow I'm hearing about, but a nice cool day with the temps in the 70's would be welcomed.

Hope everyone has a good day,

    Larro

David Byrne! That is a blast from my past, larro!

Emmalu - glad to see you are back....keep putting one foot in front of the other and the weight will have to come off. Sorry about med-mixes!

Hi KellySue, Alf, ruby and caramel!

I did a Phase 3 Venus workout today....those suckers are L-O-N-G....then i did an abs class! It is "Feastival" tonight and i knew i would need some extra room under my dress fir the impending food baby....

    Good Morning all,

You are all doing so great, getting those workouts in early and even taking time off to fit them in. :flowerforyou:

I did NOT get a workout in yesterday, much to my disappointment. The day turned out quite nice - sunny and cool, my kinda running weather. However, i had too much to do. As it was, I didn't stop until almost 11 and I was beat.
Am hosting an Alzheimer's Coffee break today at work (I lost my brother to early onset Dementia), so spent the night baking. I also had three baskets of fresh peaches that were going downhill real fast, so needed to do something with those.

Am heading out of town after work today - heading south to surprise my g/f. for her 60th birthday tomorrow and my bday is Saturday.
Going as far as SSM tonight and will spend the night with my son and DIL. Friday morning, the car has an appointment to get an oil change and then I am off. So, was trying to get my laundry done last night as well. I was throwing in a last load before I headed to bed and didn't I knock my head on a cupboard door that I left open. UGH!:noway: Have a nasty sore spot on my forehead today.

We woke up to frost this morning. Heavy, heavy frost. It was -1C this morning (30F). So NOT ready for the cold. Predictions are scary - more of the same as last year. Lots of cold and lots of snow.

    Good morning Cool Kids!!

Sdereski- I have heard the rumors that it might not be a very nice winter in our area as well- but if you want to keep the majority up your way that would be fine with me!! LOL!

Larro- I remember going to all kinds of thrift stores with my grandmother down there when she was alive. She especially loved to go to the Hospice thrift shop. They always seemed to have the nicest things and a lot of them were brand new still with the tags on them!

Did 30 day shred this morning before I had to get ready for Jake! Also changed my schedule around a bit so I can spend a little bit of extra time with him starting next week. Yahoo! tomorrow is a rest day and I am looking forward to sleeping in a bit. Race day is Saturday and I am looking forward to seeing some of my old friends from high school.

My mom had bloodwork on Monday and is going in for a scope and ultrasound today so hopefully we will have some definite answers about what is going on soon. She is doing well overall and is just plugging along. Today is their 49th wedding anniversary and they are planning on going to dinner later and are going camping this weekend as well.

    Have a good day all!

    Morning Kids,

Hope all of you are well.

KellySue..Happy 49th to your mom. Not many people can claim those amount of years anymore. I love it. I hope your mom gets the best care so she can keep right on moving along. Can you feel the excitement as your race day approaches? I am rooting for you. I know you will do fantastic.

Sdereski---I read the same thing about our winter being the same as the last. You are very active in your community which is awesome. What did you end up doing with the peaches?

I weighed in and gained 8lbs by way of the scale, but my clothes are looser. I am truly growing because I would have totally lost it some months back. The trainer who teaches extreme fit on Wednesdays told me he needed to lose 10lbs when he first became a trainer, and he gained 20lbs. I am really starting to comprehend how muscle weighs more and looks so much leaner. I will keep working hard as I always do. I am actually going to take Body Attack tonight. That is a sports conditiong class by Les Mills. My HRM normally gives me a 800+ calorie burn whenever I take this class. It is a very hardcore class, but also for beginners you can do take the necessary option. If you want to see a class, go to you tube and type in les mills body attack and there are so many videos of actual classes.

Larro--I love thrift store shopping and yard sales. One man's junk has truly been my treasure. Once again, I say clone Larro...lol

Emmalu---Keep up the fine work. We missed you.

    Have a great day everyone.

yo all. I broke my hand 3 weeks ago in a mtn bike accident, so havent been able to lift. I used to do 3x3 (3 days cardio, 3 days strength) but now im on day 22 of pure Cardio (with HIit) and some minor Core work. Good news is ive lost 8lbs in the last 22 days (I think from changing up and confusing my body and being more strict in diet to counteract lack of lifting), but the bad news is i can already feel atrophy of my muscles. Oh well, you do have to adapt or otherwise you give up.

    Hello All You Cool Kids,

I went to the doctors yesterday and they said my A1C was 8.5 and now they are changning my medicine again. UGH! I think the high blood sugar has a lot to due with it being so hard to lose weight. But I am determined to make it through it!

Emm- what did they change your medication to? Some do have slight weight gain as a side effect, but there are some that act like an appetite suppressant- not their primary function, but it is a side effect non the less. This is doable for you- I was on three different medications in January of 2013 and I am now only on one and that is at a quarter of the dose that I was on then. I, too, felt that it was more difficult, but as the doctor explained- higher sugars make us feel more hungry and it can just be a vicious cycle. I know that it is a pain, and maybe not what you want to hear, but you really have to be diligent about what you are eating and exercise goes a long, long way to helping you get through this. YOU CAN DO IT!!

Hey guys. Lightning got my modem last night while we were out to supper, so I'm just logging on {at work} for the first time today. It will be tomorrow before the phone company guy can get out with a new one, so I will be without until then. I will just suffer quietly. Well, you guys won't be able to hear me *****, so that is the same thing, right?

I have a big banquet tonight. The one I set up for on Tuesday. I will eat good, but then I have to clean up afterward.

I wrote down my numbers this morning, but forgot to bring them with me to work. I called Margie and she read them off, but I don't trust any of them but the weight. So that is all I will list. I remember my Body Fat and BMI were up and Body Water was down. That is likely due to the large amount of Chinese food I ate last night.

177.7 Pounds. That is a increase of 0.8 for the week.

Everyone have a good one. Hopefully I can check in tomorrow.

    Larro

It's me checking in again!! It has been crazy busy at work and at home. Hardly any time to workout especially now that my son's bus schedule has changed. :noway:  I really miss my grueling wokouts!!! The other day I tried to workout and felt pain in my hip so I immediately stopped. Thank God I am still teaching Zumba because that is all the exercise I have been getting lately. I'd better get organized because I dont know what will happen when I quit teaching in December. My MRI is on Oct 3rd, lets see what is found. BUT I want to say that eating healthy REALLY works especially when you are not exercising. I went back to my healthy eating habits over a month ago after gaining 13lbs in the summer and I have lost most of it already!!!! I've also joined a couple of challenges, mostly nutrition challenges and it has really helped stay motivated. Anyone heard of DietBet? Look it up
www.dietbetter.com I follow Natalie Jill on Facebook, a fitness celebrity. She was doing that challenge in dietbet. It was $30 bet that you would lose 4% of your body weight in a month. For me was a little over 5 lbs. There were about 900 plus members. I dont like losing especially money so that motivated me. The pot was 28 thousand dollars with all the bets and all the winners would share the pot. Lots ended up winning but not all. I got $50 so I got my money back plus $20 :drinker: :drinker: There are lots of different bets. Some are a month long, others 90 days to 6 months. It was fun to do!!! I am now back down to 129, my goal is 125 and no more than 130. I lost in that month 7.8 lbs!!!

KellySue, happy anniversary to your parents!!! My parents were married for 53 yrs. My dad died of a broken heart after my mom passed away. I truly believe that.

Larro, I am picturing you in your underwear. :noway:

Beeps, sdereski, hope you enjoy yourselves, have a safe trip, both of you!!!

Emma, good to hear from you. My husband had a Dr's appt today and he was told he is pre-diabetic. He was referred to a nutritionist. Duh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What am I? A fly on the wall??? I am not licensed or "certified" but I have been in the health, fitness and wellness profession for a long time BUT he doesnt listen to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And today he was telling me what the nutritionist was telling him to eat, he walked on the treadmill, blah blah blah we will see how long it lasts...I know it is not easy but you gotta do what you have to do to stay healthy.

I'd better get ready for bed, sorry I didnt mention everyone...Caramel, you are a sweetheart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Friday All! I am taking a rest day today so I am ready for my race tomorrow. Should be a good time! It has, however, been a crazy morning at work already- two meetings back to back and errands to run before lunch. I just managed to eat my lunch in 15 minutes so that I can be ready for the folks that will be here in about 10 minutes! What a rush! I am leaving work a little early so I can drive to my hometown- about an hour away- and pick up my race packet. Then I am staying at my parents' house tonight and going to the race from there. After the race I am going to stop and visit with them at their camp before heading home. It's always busy!

Sdereski and Beeps- enjoy your trips!

Alf- glad to hear of your weight loss. My hubby is finding the same as you- he is losing weight just eating healthier and less as well. He is still having issues with his back and it has been difficult to get him motivated to get back to the gym as a result. We went to the Dr. on Wednesday and he has managed to lose 34lbs since the end of July!! (He's a big guy so the weight is literally just falling off from him right now!)

Larro- hope you get your modem fixed soon- hate it when there is no internet! It, unfortunately, happens to us at work all the time!

    Have a good weekend everyone!!

    Hello Cool Kids!

It has been busy this week. We got a new employee, so I have been busy with her. I really like her and she is really smart so I am glad that she joined us.

KS - I Take Invokana I was on 100mg and they changed it to 300mg, Janumet 50-500mg, Losartan Potassium 25mg, Glimepiride 4mg and Levimer shot 100mg all once a day.
The bad part is they seem to constantly change this up on me. My goal is to be off of medication.

Beeps - I hope that your back is feeling better.

Larro - I hope that you get your modem fixed soon. I am sure as much as you like to blog it will drive you crazy! But at lease you can get on the internet at work.

Alf - You know that it can be hard for people to listen to someone that is so close to you. I hope the best for your hubby. Part of my problem is that my hubby doesn't want to eat the way that I need to. I am not much of a healthy eater but I am trying new things mainly vegetables and more fruit. I wish that I could afford a personal trainer and a chef. But I keep pushing through!

I really appreciate all the help that everyone offers! I tell my family and friends all the time how awesome everyone is here! You guys are not only Cool! You Rock!

    Happy Friday Kids,

Hope all of you are well and ready to enjoy the weekend.

Emma-Every step you take towards a healthier you are in fact becoming a more healthier you. I was on glyset 25 mg for about a year and I was taken off of it once I lost the weight. If that is your goal, you can do it. I am cheering for you.

Kellysue-I am excited for you about your race. I look forward to pictures and hearing your feelings about it.

Alf--My nutritionist told me losing weight is 80% diet and 20% exercise. Congrats on your loss. You are setting the example for hubby and hopefully he will make the necessary changes to become healthier.

Larro- I am glad your modem is now fixed. Now back to our regularly scheduled program "Ranch Larro"...Popcorn anyone:tongue:

Beeps/Sdereski ----Enjoy your trips and be safe.

There is a lady on my friends list who has logged in over 1000+ days. How impressive is that? I am just over 400 days.

Met with my trainer today and we met at a high school and she killed me out on the track. Needless to say I love the torture she inflicts on me. I worked out Mon-Fri this week. I may walk tomorrow or take a light jog.

Ruby and CG----Hope both of you are well.

    JFM---Missing you....

If I forgot anyone, please have mercy on me.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Hey guys. I was without phone and internet until late this afternoon. Since I worked until after 1:00 this morning, all I did was lay around the house watching sports and waiting on the phone repair man. There was a couple of cat naps mixed in there too.

We had a real nice shower about 4:00 that lasted a good hour. Margie and I got out and walked around the yard and garden after it stopped though. Here is a shot of the sun trying to shine through the clouds.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Kellysue, have a great time at the race tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :drinker: :drinker:

Emma, YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ask away!!! Do you prepare shakes/smoothies? That is a great way to incorporate lots of veggies. I see too many people preparing smoothies with nothing but fruit and lots of it! :noway: I put in mine beets, cucumbers, spinach or kale, celery, carrots, just a combination of whatever I have on hand, then I add a banana or some strawberries or blueberries and protein powder. You don't even taste the veggies. I also add cinnamon, a chunk of ginger and chia seeds for more fiber. For my fat source I add either coconut oil, avocado or almond butter. YUM!!!! Salads with a good homemade dressing makes them tastier and add some chicken breast or turkey. For dinner sautee veggies and season with fresh herbs or Mrs Dash and eat with your protein and avocado.

Caramel, you are just such a sweet person!!!! Good job on your workout!!!! WORK IT GIRL!!!! :drinker: 1000 days in a row?? wow!!! I have been a member of MFP since 2008 but I definitely don't post or check in every single day...well, I guess you guys know that. LOL

Larro, your garden is AHMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You would laugh at mine!!! I definitely need some pointers from you!!! :drinker:

I was crazy busy today and I was supposed to be off half a day since I have been working overtime and don't get paid overtime. The good thing I walked so much that according to my fitbit I walked 14,000 steps!!!! Then I picked up my granddaughter from day care and took her to pump it up, an indoor inflatable jumping place. She had a blast. She is spending the night with Nana!! My plan tomorrow walk to the neighborhood park with her and my son. He loves going there to get on the swings. I hope it doesn't rain or it is too hot. It is still in the 90s here and very humid. :noway:

    Have a great evening!!! :drinker:

    Good afternoon folks.

I have a late start for work tonight. I hate killing time all day then going in for a late night party. But other than the event tonight, I have the rest of the weekend off. I would rather get too many hours than too little.

Not too much going on around the Larro Ranchero. Margie and I did walk over to the shooting house and change out the SD card in the game camera and scatter a little corn. {I will post a picture for our resident hog hunter} Margie is going into town a little before I have to leave for work to meet some of her friends for supper. I've been watching racing and will check on football as time allows. Since it's Saturday, I will need to shower and shave, so I have to plan time for that.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend,

    Larro

Hello Cool Kids! I hope it's okay to join.
My names Kate and I'm 41. I've been married 20 yrs. (long yrs. LOL) We have a 16 yr. old son, and a 3 yr. old daughter. Thank you PCOS. I firmly believe boys are easier. My daughter drives me crazy. When will these terrible two's finally end? I'm a stay at home Mom by protest. LOL. Thank goodness my gym has 2 hrs. of free daycare.
Beeps - Outstanding on your 1000 days!
Larrodarro- I'm still trying to get that picture of your underwear out of my head. LOL

Short term memory loss here but... Hope Mom's okay.
...Wish you luck with your consults about the tummy tuck.
...Hope you'll be able to get of meds soon.
    ....Hope Husband gets healthier.

I didn't workout for 2 days our daughter had a runny nose and then weekends are always harder getting to the gym. ( Usually end up strolling our daughter around the neighborhood). Managed to try 2 new things at the gym last week. I was sure I wouldn't be able to do the Atlantis Knee Raises ( holding up my bodyweight while doing knee raises). Finally tried it and wasn't sore till later that night. LOL. Also tried the Jacob's Ladder in the corner of the gym. LMAO I made it 2 minutes before I climbed off. No thank you I'll stick with the elliptical.

    Anyway go forth and burn!

    Hey Kids

Hope all of you are well and had a fab weekend.

Kelly-Great job on your race. Love the photo

Beeps--That is awesome I know of 2 people that are at the 1000+ day mark. I am at 455 today. I am now curious where everyone is in terms of tenure on MFP. Do tell!!!!!:flowerforyou:

Larro--Nice pics of the hogs. I saw one at the vet when I took the dog for his shots. That pig was so large. I watched in sheer amazement. I love animals. What can I say?

Kate7294---Welcome aboard. Hope you enjoy your stay. We are a supportive group here.

Alf---We love you regardless of how many days you are on here. Just do not make us worry about you.

CG/RUBY/JFM--Hope the 3 of you are ok.

My burn on Friday was minimal despite my trainer killing me. We met at a high school and needless to say I had a lot of running to do:grumble: Push ups in the grass was rather interesting  . On the weekends I tend to walk to give my body a break.

I have a question for all of you; if there are people on your friends list who do not encourage you or login after a certain period of time do you delete them? Do you have a criteria when you accept friend requests? There was a forum on this topic and some of the comments I found rather interesting.

Sleep well. Tomorrow is a new day full of possibilities.

Good Monday morning Cool Kids!! I walked today, in the rain! It was just an annoying mist initially, but then it started to rain harder. I was pretty wet when I got home!

For those who didn't see, I finished the 5k in 43:28. My hip cramped up about 1/2 a mile into the race and I ended up walking the rest of the way. I thought I could just walk it out for a few minutes, but that was not happening- c'est la vie! It was still about a 14 minute mile so I can't complain too much and I finished 220 out of about 400 people! Not sure what will be next yet.

Caramel- I am not great at cleaning out my friends list. I always say that I'm going to, but then I feel bad deleting people. I'm just a sap that way I guess!

    Have a good day all!

I am still alive but even walking hurts, Friday, Saturday & Sunday were spent building the ceiling in our pole shed. I have now learned how to use scaffoling (I was kneeling 10 feet in the air for about 10 hours Saturday) learned how to use an air staple gun and a power drill to put in sheet metal screws. My body hurts everywhere. We are almost done with the project, I think about 6 more hours and we should have the last of the sheet metal up. I made goal a couple of years ago to become more self sufficient and learn how to use tools, well I guess I can cross that off my bucket list now LOL.

Kelly Sue - great job on the race! Way to keep going even with the cramp so early in the race. Way to go girl! That is a great time too, I love your new picture. Adorable.

Larro - Glad to have your internet back up and running. I chuckled when I saw your pics of the hogs. Thanks for sharing another piece of the ranchero.

Beeps - Great job on logging over 1000 days, you are encouraging. I try to get in everyday but cannot succeed for some reason. I hope your nephews wedding was a grand celebration!

Alf - I think you have all the knowledge your hubby needs for his nutrition, but that is so funny how those close to us do not think we know anything. It is nice to hear he is open to looking at changing some of his habits.

Caramel - that is great that your clothes are feeling looser and you are gaining muscle. I love it:smile: I also love how you are okay with the scale being higher but knowing you are in better shape and getting that. I struggle with the stupid number on the scale and hate that about myself. I get way to caught up in the ideal number & I wish I could change that about myself. I have been trying but it is hard to change.

Kate - Welcome to the group. This is a great board and very active. No one snoozes around here (well except Larro with his cat naps at the ranchero, LOL) I could go for a cat nap about now.

    How are you guys?

    Hi All,
I am about to join your club. Turning 40 tomorrow. I missed my goal of goal weight by 40 but I am still motivated to keep going.
I don't usually use the website and message boards but my phone keeps freezing so I jumped on to log and ended up wandering around the boards. You look like a friendly bunch
Keep up all the hard work and I will pop in from time to time> Maybe you guys will be my added inspiration.
I have 3 little ones and a full-time job which makes it hard to put me front and center but I'm trying not to be at the bottom of the list either.
I never figured out those counter things for my posts - I started about 180 in 2011 and I am at 161.5 and heading for 140-145. I am 5'4". Been as low as 157.5 This year but haven't bounced back above 162 so doing ok with maintaining, could be better.

    Happy Monday Kids,

LoneWolf--I wish you a speedy recovery. How long will it take for you have to have a full recovery where you can go back to your normal routine? Did you succumb to chocolate? I know you will resume your normal eating program.

Ruby--Talk about a change in routine...power tools and scaffoling that is a crossfit body workout for sure. I hope you had a HRM on so you could see how many calories you burned. I love it when I can cross something off of my bucket list.

This ole girl has extreme fit tonight and with the weather being cooler I am sure a lot of running will be involved. lol.

    Have a great day everyone.
