LOVE the picture KS! Determiniation written all over your face. Thanks for sharing!
Welcome Cosmo. Have a great race next week! How far? What time are you aiming for?
Annette, you crack me up. Sanity?!?
Beeps, that's awesome! 1.6 lbs already. Your self knows what you need.
    Thanks for the support gang.
Whew! All this talk of bread. I love brea a LOT! Had to stop buying my favorite local focaccia. The only bread I buy is the Ezekiel sprouted / flourless English muffins. They're pretty satisfying if you're not comparing to focaccia!
Sdereski, the salmon derby sounds like so much fun. Especially since the weather cooperated. I hear you about winter coming too soon when you've had nothing but until recently. C'mon out to CA! We're having a lovely sunny drought. But seriously, not so funny. The forests are burning and the fish are dying from warm rivers :frown: Weather is crazy everywere it seems. But I'll admit to my love/hate relationship with climate change. It's normally cool and foggy here all the time, and we've had some pretty nice days this year.
It's mid-day, so back to work with me!
    Cheers everyone.

Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are all soooo funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Ok, first, I survived my class last night. I was in pain at times but did it!! I am teaching tomorrow night as well. Then I will get a break because of the Holiday on Monday. I already told my supervisor that my plan is to teach though the end of Dec but might need to stop depending on my condition. My Dr. finally decided, after I twisted her arm :noway: to request an XRay of my lower back and hips. So I am getting that done tomorrow and then my follow up on Friday. Yay!!! I went to see my endocrinologist for my annual exam, I have multiple nodules on my thyroid and she said all my nodules have decreased in size. I have a new one but it is not of a concern right now. Yay!!! :drinker: I really need to start doing some strength trng of some sort, I am starting to feel flabby. It has been almost a month without doing any resistance trng.

KS, that is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love you picture!!!! Way to go girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And thank you for offering your help. The school scheduled his final ARD and I got teary eyed. I am going to be a cry baby this year. We have to start looking into it because some have waiting lists.

Why dont we all join Beeps in her challenge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It sounds like an awesome challenge. I dont think Beeps wont mind the company or is it your self challenge just for yourself by yourself???? Beeps, my birthday is Nov 11.

    Good night!!! :flowerforyou:

Alf- good luck with your x-rays. I hope they give you some much needed answers!

I did not sleep well last night at all! I tossed and turned from about 2:45 on, and then it started raining on top of that this morning, so I skipped my run this morning. I did make it out to walk last night after dinner, so then I guess I can call today the rest day???
Any how- today is the big day. An offer is going in for the house that we are interested in. We'll see what happens!!

Welcome to all of the new folks- seems like more come all the time! So cool!!

Beeps- great job on losing 1.6lbs.

I will pass on the "Beeps Challenge". I do not do well on 1200 calories. I end up having too many issues with low blood sugar, and I am still losing at 1500.

    Have a great day all!

    1. 1,200 cals per day for two weeks. 1,300 cals per day for next two weeks. 1,350 cals for the month after; and then 1,400 cals for the month after that.

    2. Weight-training M/W/F. Cardio/weight combo T/Th. Cardio on Saturday. Sunday = rest.

    3. Sleep 8 or 8.5 hours per night.

    4. 12 glasses of water per day, minimum.

    5. No after-supper snacking - but am going to drink green tea. Yes, i will be up at night pee-ing, but i don't have to go to work the next day! :)

    6. Weigh-in every Wednesday. Pictures and tape measurements every two weeks.

    BOOM!

    Bago08, please read above.

KellySue, I agree on the low calorie weeks but that is what works for Beeps. It might not work for others. I do well on higher calories as well, especially when I am exercising. There is no telling how much I am eating now because I am not tracking calories but I have cut down considerably and I am losing. When I was counting and was on "maintenance" 1600-1800cals were great for me, of course, clean eats not junk.

I did some upper body exercises. Need to get ready to go get my Xrays taken. Then off to run some errands, off work today.

    Take care everyone! :flowerforyou:

    Hiya!

Well, it's hump day and I am feeling the Wednesday dragging butt sort of feeling. I was awake before 6, but just couldn't get myself out of bed until after 7! Anyway, I am here, but I am not shine.

Did another run yesterday - went a little farther and a little faster than the day before. It was also 10 degrees cooler than the day before as well. Had a good eating day yesterday as well, although I did snack after 8! I had roasted some cauliflower just to get it prepared and cooked while it was still fresh. Before I put it away in the fridge, I had a bit. It was delicious.

Beeps - great job on the weight loss already. Yup, your challenge is working as things are headed in the right direction.

cosmo - welcome! I am about 2.5 hours north of Sault Ste. Marie. Good luck with your half marathon! Am sure you will do just fine.

Kelly - love the picture!! You go girl! Great job on your run, and thank you for sharing the picture. Let me tell you, I have run many, many races and not one of my pictures are good ones. :noway: But, I still get them as they are great reminders of what I have accomplished. Be PROUD!

Alf, I certainly hope the x-rays provide you with some answers. Take care of yourself while teaching! I would love to join Beeps challenge. Will try and follow as best I can....I don't seem to get enough strength training in and my body shows it. I too am feeling very flabby these days. :grumble: So much so, was seriously thinking of doing P90X again. I just need to get disciplined enough to get up in the mornings and get it done.
Did try to get to bed early, but before you know it, I was watching the news and it was 10:30!

Annette, so true - if you have survived to over 40, chances are your sanity got lost along the way, but my belief is, that is why we survived this long.

    logo - welcome!

Larro - good job on only taking a small portion. It has been my experience that when there is "free food", people generally behave like there will be no eating tomorrow.

Have a great day all - will try and get some strength training in today. Am attempting a cleanse day, so no strenuous workout. PiYo will work.

Beeps: awesome job on the weight loss.

I went to the casino last night and learned to play craps...left with 50 more than I went in with... then had a great low cal meal at Applebees... the steak and herb shrimp.... DELICIOUS

I have a childs B day party today... must pack my own food and avoid cake... (ummmm cake)

KellySue - you look GREAT! Your focus is what has gotten you sooooo far - celebrate how HEALTHY you have become!

bago - how tall are you? I. Am 5'9" so if you are taller, you can likely up those daily calories alotted by 50 calories, per inch taller, and get the same results! Shorter people can do the reverse....subtract fifty calories for every inch you are shorter than me!

    Happy Hump Day Cool Kids,
Alf, I hope your x-rays tell you something! It's so frustrating when you're up against the unknown! Good to hear that your class went well and w/o too much pain. Listen to your inner voice, it will let you know when to make your graceful exit.
KS, very exciting about the offer! I hope they take it. Have they been doing the work that needs to be finished?
Sdereski, how hysterical! I love that we consider eating a bit of roasted cauliflower a "snack"! That's my kind of cheating! Nice work on stepping up the run!
Cosmo, good luck avoiding the cake! Folks in my office keep having birthdays, but I've managed to avoid so far. It helps to say it out loud that you're avoiding the cake and eathing healthy...sometimes it starts an interesting conversation.
Larro, how's your Mamma settling in? I hear there's some weather coming your corner of the country.
Caramel, it's amazing that you've logged in for over 400 days in a row. I think that's a lesson for me. I have only been logging M-F, and my results speak for themselves ... thanks for that!
I drove my car in today ... too misty / foggy to ride. It's really hard to keep the face sheild clear with the little thumb squeegee.
I made a rock cod curry for dinner last night. It did clock in at over 600 cal per serving, but it was great. We caught that fish earler this year. I made plenty so we can have it again tonight, so I'd better bank enough calories!
    Have a great one everybody!

    Hey Kids,

I really like how our group is growing and our posts are getting longerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and longerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...lol

Is there really a such thing as midlife crisis? I woke up and wanted a nose piercing, I have been really toying around with wanting a motorcycle for quite sometime and I do feel myself leaning towards getting my license and getting a bike by next summer. I think I have told all of you at some point in time, I bore very easily and there are times I wake up and just do things on the fly.

Welcome newbies. Hope you enjoy your stay.

Alf-I hope all goes well with the Xray.

Kelly--I understand about the loose skin, I am still up in the air what to do with it. My stomach and bat wings have suffered the most. I agree with you about having the loose skin over the weight and health issues associated with it. I am finding the more I lift heavy, it is not as bad as it once was.

Sdereski-You are getting your legs back for running, that is awesome. Do you have a race planned anytime soon?

Annette--I lost my sanity a long time ago. I personally like that I do not have it anymore (lol)

    Larro--good job exercising self control.

Beeps--I know you will do well on your 12 week challenge

Today is my last boxing class since the schedule change begins on September 1st. I am seeing the positive in this because I will get to take extreme fit 2 times a week. For those of you who are wondering what extreme fit is; the class is a mix of bootcamp and crossfit. My HRM has gone as high as 800 calories burned for this 60 minute class.

Have a great day everyone and if I missed you, I sincerely apologize.

    Good Morning Cool Kids.

    After reading about everyone's sleeping problems, I feel bad to say that I slept in until 0800. Well, not real bad. It was nice, but now I'm rushing to get my housecleaning, workout and breakfast in before the cleaning lady gets here. I did my time on the Gazelle and stationary bike between loads of laundry. {and posting here. The dryer just buzzed. Be back in a minute}

{Alright I'm back. The towels are folded and put up and there is 25 minutes left on the sheets} We tried to hire our cleaning lady to clean Mamma's house, but she just doesn't have a time slot open. Her sister is doing a trail run cleaning it this afternoon to see how it goes.

The election went good. And my friend who teaches the Taekwondo class at the Civic Center won his primary for County Commissioner up in Jackson County. But he is a Republican, and there hasn't been one elected in Jackson or Calhoun Counties since Reconstruction. Don't take that to mean that all my neighbors are liberals, because that is far from the truth. We are just behind the times. When the rest of the country switched parties in 1964, we didn't. In state and national races, they always go Republican, but to get elected in local races, you have to be a Democrat. The only Republicans we have have moved here from other places.

Caramel, one of the poll workers is a beautiful, strong lady with a shaved head. She reminded me of you.

    Beeps, nice loss.

KellySue, loved the picture. I thought of the southern saying, 'get 'er done.' I have only tried running three or four times since I started this journey, and joint pain cut it short every time. I have tons of respect for you guys who can tough it out. And good luck with the house.

Cosmo, anytime you can eat out and still eat healthy it is a victory. It is so hard to do. Children's birthday parties are a big part of my customer base at the Civic Center. Most of them think they are being nice when they bring me a plate of cake and ice cream. I have been able to at least taste it since I'm on maintenance. I tossed a lot of cake and ice cream before that.

Sd, I had no choice on the small portions. I had already ate lunch once. My afternoon snacks was about the same calories as lunch was. Some late night Gazelle time was all that kept me from going to bed with red numbers.

Alf, hope the Xrays show what has been bothering you.

Bago, just add 3 or 400 calories to Beeps plan and go from there.

A general hello to everyone else. Hello.

Hope everyone has a good day.

    Happy Hump Day Cool Kids,

Larro, how's your Mamma settling in? I hear there's some weather coming your corner of the country.

    Have a great one everybody!

I'm having to show her a little tough love. Sister just doesn't know how to say no, so it's up to me to do it. Sister was wanting to go to Tampa this weekend to see her {kind of} step daughter who is flying in from Colorado Springs, but she didn't think Mamma would be able to get by without her since I work all weekend. On Monday I let {made} Mamma put the parts of the breathing treatment machine together and mix the two vials of medicine. And Sister did the same yesterday morning. She also mixed her morning shake and put it in the fridge, and let her fix her own coffee. I called her before I left for work yesterday about lunch, but she offered to get something herself. We have her scheduled for two days of outpatient PT a week, but she wants us to stay with her at home to do an hour of the exercises. I am not ashamed to say that Mamma is not my favorite person in the world, and the last thing I want to do is spend an hour watching her do her exercises. I would much rather drive her to her PT, then go have a cup of coffee with my boss at work while she does the work.

But she seems to be doing well. Having good food is a big improvement for her. She lived off of sweet rolls before. We would take her real food, and it would stay in the fridge until it was thrown away. Since we are fixing her plate, she has to eat what we bring her.

I see we have about a week straight of thunderstorms headed our way. I try to post on a 'Good Morning' thread on my tractor site, and a big part of it is telling the local weather. If I don't make it to post, I rarely look at the weather. And if I don't get out to the garden, some days I don't get outside until I leave for work at 1440. That is when I say, oh, it's hot today. Or, oh, it feels like rain.

Hi all hope you're all having fun whatever your doing today.

Don't know what's going on with me looks as if its going to be another week staying the same on the scales. i'll see tomorrow forshor. at least it isn't going up nether. And i know that the scales aren't the be all and end all but when you know that you haven't garn over your allowance you start to feel a bit cheated. Thats my rant over with for today.

I am off for 4 days as i have been working nights so its 4 nights on and 4 off for eight weeks then i do eight weeks of days and then it starts all over again. Thats why i haven't been getting on here much lately.

Off to do some shopping and pick up my wife from work so have a great day and see you all soon.

Good Morning all. Observation of the day. It doesnt take long to wipe out a good week when having beers with friends.
