Oh Marla you are the best lol.
Maple Sunday was crazy! but at the same time loads of fun. So we get to this farm that has a sugar house (Place where they make maple syrup as well as loads of other maple syrupy things). So there is this huge line to get to the sugar house and LOADS of people sitting at tons of tables eating pancakes at 1pm in the afternoon! CRAZY I TELL YOU! It's a beautiful afternoon and the sun is shinning so proceed to head down to the barn where they have the "miniature" horses. and MAN is this place muddy! I should know better going to a farm in the spring. You can tell the regulars from the first timers cause the regulars all have big ol mud boots on and I am wearing my white sneakers. After checking out the tiny horses we go and get in line for the sugar house. Mind you this line is the slowest moving line I have EVER been in. I have been in faster moving lines at Disney. I've been holding the two year old this entire time knowing that if I put him down captain mud feet will not be picked up again. About 10 minuetes into the wait it becomes too much for the little guy and he starts hollering to get down and begging to go sit and have breakfast with all the pancake eating crazies.
After about 5 mins of that I find myself sitting at a table watching him MOW down two pancakes with bacon and of course freshly made maple syrup! but hey at least he's quet. He doesnt eat two peices of bacon so guess who does...YUMMY!!!! Well now he's done with his one hour after lunch breakfast so I check in with the DW and they are only about half way to this magical sugar house that must be SOOOOOO amazing for that many people to be standing in line. I figure there is no way I am gonna survive in the line with the little guy so it's back to the mini horses. After another five minuetes looking at tiny horses it's back into the mud to check on mummy and OMG!!! the wind is a blowin and the SNOW is coming down! So now I am the only moron on site wearing white sneakers in the mud and short sleeves in the snow. Well 20 mins and 5 more visits to tiny horse town later the DW has finally made it into the sugar house so I figure one more look at the tiny horses and she should be done. Well this was one trip to many... I get into the deepest region of the tiny horse barn and look at this particularly adorable little gray fella named scout. APPARENTLY scout didnt like something about my face cause he starts neighing and hollering and before I can say "My little Pony" the whole barn full of horses is screaming and jumping and kicking there stalls and all the people that work there are freaking out and asking them what's wrong. I got out of there... and fast. I refuse to have "KILLED BY TINY HORSES" engraved on my tombstone. Well luckily the DW and the older boy were emerging from the sugar house with lots of sugar stuff. Vanilla ice cream with maple syrup.....maple and sugar covered peanuts and moose shaped maple pops! Had a bit of icecream and way to many peanuts to calm my nerves after my close call with those tiny furry grim reapers. then we trudged through the mud back to the car. Kids loved it and I had a good time. I'm about 150 cals over for the day but I still havnt gone to the gym so I should be cool. Just thought you guys should know what a sugar house is like.
Cheers! :drinker:0 -

It sounds naughty!
Have you ever had maple cotton candy. OH EM GEEEEEEE0 -
Hey gang,
It was a pretty busy Sunday here.. youngest DD had 2 birthday parties to attend - about 40 minutes away from each other. So we went to the first for lunch and birthday cake and did not skate, then got to the second one late, so missed pizza and cake, but in time to swim. Yea!! guess that worked just right. I did succomb to a rather large piece of birthday cake at the first party after the father approached with it 4 times and then begged that they just couldn't take it home.. sure, pass it off on the fat lady - such a sucker I am.. OK, because somehow it fit into my daily allowance - I think it was the salmon and salad dinner that helped..
Marla - thanks for the shout out.. I am feeling better about stuff this week. I am not doing couch to 5K exactly, but am working on my walk/jog intervals at a pace that I can live with without too much pain. I figure it will either get better or I'll have to go for a hip replacement..
Andrew - your stories always crack me up.. watch out for those little horses, they can get nasty.. I think it must be all that inbreeding. So, I guess you are not exactly a "horse whisperer".
Everyone else - hang in there.. Get some really good workouts in so you can have a happy weigh in on Weds..

OH NO, YOU DIDN'T!!!
I can't believe your family stood in line long enough to see the little horses go mad, and didn't end up with maple cotton candy.. stuff is totally awesome...0 -
Note-To-Self...do NOT take 3 small children to a sugar house. Funny story, Andrew! Glad you, your white tennis shoes & short sleeved shirt all made it out alive!0

so, this morning I wake up and weigh myself. yeah still at 179. Go to the bathroom, weigh myself yeah I know silly but still 179. What the HE double hockey sticks. take my running shorts and tank top off BAM!! 177.6! WTH?!?!?! I asked hubs how could my running shorts and tank top weigh 2 pounds? He didn't have an answer. Lets hope it stays or goes down from there. I am not ready for a long P-word. if 3 weeks was killing me I don't know what I would do if I was to go over a month or 2.
Sorry I have been "gone" for awhile I was lurking though.0 -

Phew! you went kinda easy on me. I looked and saw that the last post on the black team thread was Marla and I got that same feeling in the pit of my stomach that I used to get when I did something wrong and I got the wait till your father gets home speach....seeing that you had posted was the same as hearing him pull into the driveway. lol0 -
Good Morning all! Hope today will be a great day for all.
It's raining here so not much outside!
M's garden is growing like a weed though! I hope it's not wees that are growing.:laugh:0 -
Hittin' the ground running-- as usual. (beats hittin' Andrew-- ha.)
Have a great day everyone--0 -
Morning gang..
I really love the photo Sara - so cute...
I did a shred this morning to try to break my mini-Marla (love this - much better than P word - thanks Andrew) - and for a 30 minute workout I had an average HR of 117, but a maximum of 228 - is that even healthy??
Going now to check webMD.. back soon..
janie
ps, BTW - a mere 150 calories for all that grunting...:noway: :noway:0 -
Hittin' the ground running-- as usual. (beats hittin' Andrew-- ha.)
Have a great day everyone--
i don't know....that can be pretty fun:laugh:0 -
Sooo... webMD says to subtract my age from 220 for maximum heart rate...
Since I am older than -8 years old, I would have to guess my HRM is not working properly - poopcycles...
Back to the drawing board..0 -

 I'm sure you got some good hits in for the fun time that was the Sugar House. When he was telling the story, all I could think was, "And Beth is STILL in line with a FIVE year old! YIKES!" :laugh:0 -

LOL @ poopcycles. HA! Is that like a bicycle made of poo? Sometimes my HRM shoots down like that for no reason at all...that I can see. Make sure the electrode thingys are moist enough. Someone on another thread suggested using a gel instead of just water & I started using aloe vera gel. It hasn't done it since. So weird.0
