I had a better workout today. The machines were a little better to me.

Congrats Moomyfire.....34 years.....awesome:happy:  We're at the 27+ mark, hard to believe we haven't driven each other crazy some days!
Enjoy whatever plans you have for the evening....you deserve it!!!:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
Esther,
Glad to hear the machines liked you better today!! I hope to make it back to Curves tonight - last night intended to go but lost a filling out of a tooth and they replaced it right away (amazing), so I was novacained from the bottom of my eyelid to halfway down my neck and to both sides of my nose! Needless to say, I didn't think Curves would be a good idea in that condition:laugh:

:flowerforyou: Thank you, Esther. Congrats on your 31 years together. We had a nice day today and plan to go out to dinner tomorrow night. Had too many other things to do today to do dinner tonight. I also work tomorrow, so, it will be another busy day and no Curves workout until next Tuesday. Our Curves is closed during the weekend and I work on Mondays. Glad you got your workout in today.
:flowerforyou: Thanks very much, MK. Congrats on your 27 years. The years do seem to fly by, huh? Glad to meet two long-timers like us.
I hope everyone has a great weekend.0 -
:flowerforyou: Kim, you and your DH deserve a bouquet of flowers. 34 years in this day and age is awesome.
In November my DH and I will have been together 31 years. We had been dating for 2 months when he gave me an engagement ring for Christmas. I only took it to keep from hurting his feelings and embarrassing him in front of his family. I'm still waiting for the right time to give the ring back without hurting his feelings.0 -
Good morning ladies!!
Overdid it halfway thru the circuit last night - had a heart rate of 183, couldn't catch my breath :grumble: :grumble: .........the heart rate machine did NOT like that! Hesitated me for 10 seconds the next 3 machines, but I still couldn't get green all the way thru the cycle.:ohwell: . Still burned 400 calories, so I can't complain too much:laugh: :laugh:0 -
Good morning,
Hope you all have a great Friday. The weekend is coming.
mk: You must be really pushing yourself. Take care. No passing out on the Curves circuit. I'm headed out the door now. I'll be back when I'm done.
Esther0 -
Okay - that's just too weird!!!! Today I got too high of a reading on the heart rate machine and had to wait 10 seconds on the next 3 machines! That is too weird of a coincidence. I never have gotten that before. Hit the red once before but not high enough to slow me down on the next machine! Oh well,
I went and conquered and now can move on with my day:laugh:
Have a good one everyone.

Thanks very much, Jeannie. Congrats to you and your DH for 31 years together, too. That is funny what you said about the ring he gave you. I think the "right time" has passed, though. :laugh:0 -
Where is everyone? I may not make it to CURVES today because of my schedule. I may surprise myself though
Hope you are all having a great Monday.

Hi Everyone!
Grammy,
I intend to hit Curves on my way home tonight.
Saturday was cold and overcast, so no lake for us. Instead, rode almost 300 miles on the Harley with a good friend. VERY STRANGE to have to wear chaps, leather jacket and warm gloves the end of August!   I'm glad all I had to do was sit there; the hubby does the driving - I'm just along to enjoy the scenery!!:laugh:0 -
Happy Tuesday morning to all!  I'm sorry to report that summer seems to have left Kansas.......thermometer this morning was 57° :grumble: :grumble: :noway: . I'm not ready for fall yet!!!!!!!
Feeling pretty good today. Scale last night at Curves was 127.5 - YEAH!!!!   Burned over 450 calories - YES!!!
Was very good this weekend; couldn't snack all day Saturday- hard to snack on the back of a motorcycle at 50+mph!!  Sunday was too busy cleaning/laundry to snack, and behaved at supper on the neighbor's deck- no snacks and 1 burger without cheese, ear of sweetcorn, tiny bit of grilled sweet potato (awesome- everyone needs to try it) and spinach salad with homemade dressing. My neighbor's a vegetarian, and I've yet to find something she makes that I don't like!! I always feel guilty because I don't cook as healthy as she does, so I usually end up providing most of the meat for meals- her husband appreciates that!! :ohwell:
Have a great day all!!0 -
That sounds yummy. Congrats on the loss. YOu're doing great.
Esther0 -
Went to CURVES and my PI was increased by 34. They had done a "global reset" on three of the machines so they said that is why. I got a good workout and felt better because the sensors were working right.
Have a great day everyone.
Esther0 -
Don't you just LOVE IT :grumble: when you get increased by a huge number??? :noway: :noway: :explode: I don't pay too much attention to my PI; I give my all to every machine each time I'm on it (unless I get hesitated or am out of breath). I pay more attention to calories burned than anything else. I'll probably never break the 500 calories burned mark, but I am happy to report that I've discovered a couple pairs of work pants that are looser in the waist than they were when I stopped wearing them when it got hot! :blushing: So, even though the scale doesn't say much for loss, the inches are shifting - YEAH!!!!!
Headed there tonight after a visit to the chiropractor. Feeling a little stiff and sore and he's closed from tonight until Tuesday, so don't want to spend the long weekend in pain!
Later,
Marla0 -
Didn't make it to Curves last night - was way sore after the chiropractor visit, so went home and spent the evening in my recliner with the massaging heating pads.
Planning on heading there tonight- 1 hour until work is done and I feel pretty good. :happy:0 -
Well, after getting called away on my way to Curves ad then getting some errands done and other things getting in my way....I FINALLY made it toCurves a 400. What a dead time there at that time. I was the only one working out but I did it and I feel so much better. It isn't hanging over my head anymore!!!
Have a good evening everone.

Esther, don't you love it when you feel much better when you're done with a workout?? I know I do, it's what I think about when I'm making my 30 minute drive home and debating with myself whether I'll stop at Curves on the way or not!! I've made it a rule to take my workout stuff with me when I leave for work, that way I have no excuses not to stop AND I can't get distracted by the 10 million other things that hit me when I walk thru the door at home. Wait........Ithat was a flashback to kids in high school days.......... my biggest decision when I walk thru the door is usually whether I'll cook, we order delivery or eat out!! Having no more kids at home is so nice .
I just HAD to have a bacon cheeseburger last night; so we went to a new sportsbar in town - their burgers are the best I've had in YEARS!!! I was good...........immediately cut it in half and didn't put ketchup or anything on the half I took home. I also ordered fresh fruit instead of fries.......amazed myself!  I DID have two of my hubby's steak fries, but that's much better than having fries and suddenly realizing you've eaten most of the huge order without realizing it!!!!
Really should get to work; have a great Labor Day weekend!!! :flowerforyou:
Marla0 -
That's good planning. I had my clothes in the car but got called to the other side of town and then really had to talk myself into going back! I did though. Today I have another disorganzed day but I'm going to make it to Curves!
Good choices at the restaurant. And yes, I do eat the whole platter of fries before I know it if I order any. My hubby and I usually share as well. You feel better afterward too. Not so weighted down.
Have a great weekend.
Esther0 -
Made it Curves last night........alternate day, so only burned 399 calories. But..........at least I made it there!!!!
Cool and overcast today so far; not sure it's going to warm up enough to go to the lake - it's 1:30 and about 75° :grumble: :grumble: :grumble: . This isn't Labor Day weekend - more like Memorial Day or Easter weekend!!!!!!!:grumble: :grumble: I want my sunshine and nice temperatures back!!!!:glasses: :glasses:0 -
Curves is closed today so I won't be going. Am getting ready to do a dvd exercise. Hope you all have a great Holdiay in whatever you do. Stay focused and Drink WATER:drinker: :drinker: :drinker:
Esther0 -
Okay - I went back to curves and got weighed and measured for the "Biggest Loser" Challenge that starts this Thursday. I ate so bad this last weekend that I need to get focused!
Hope you all are having a great day.
Esther0 -
I'm supposed to get weighed and measured today, but I'm afraid I won't like what the scale and the tape measure say:blushing: :blushing: .
Went on a Harley ride yesterday with friends and ended up eating an early dinner at Logan's Roadhouse. It's a new chain, from what I can tell. Anyhow - awesome steakhouse; AWESOME food!!! Couldn't resist the appetizers - we were starving, so the guys ordered mozz sticks, deep fried mushrooms and stuffed baked potato skins. :grumble: :grumble: Limited myself to one mozz stick and 1/2 baked potato skin, but shouldn't have had all of that before the meal. Had the 6oz filet mignon and ate about 3/4 of it, maybe 1/3 of the HUGE baked sweet potato and most of my caesar salad with very little dressing drizzled on it. Didn't weigh myself this morning, but I KNOW that scale's gonna say back up over 130   I didn't even attempt to log it; I just skipped Sunday's entries completely. I don't want to know how many calories I ate yesterday!!!!:ohwell:
But.......whether I weigh and measure or not, I WILL GO TO CURVES ON MY WAY HOME TONITE!!!!!!0 -
Yes, I would also be interested in an online Curves buddy. I've been attending a Southern NJ curves since Aug 2008. I typically go 3-4days week plus jog/3 days week and walk and do push-ups/sit-ups.
I'm at the point now where the weight wasn't dropping despite the exerising I've been doing. There are days I burn 850+ calories. The curves dietician reviewed my calorie intake based on printouts from this site.
Our Curves has smart equipment and there are just a few yellow balls I would like to see disappear.

BAIcott,
Welcome!!!!!
My Curves also has smart equipment, and I think that maybe ONCE I've gotten all green balls in the 15 months we've had the CurvesSmart program!!!0 -
Welcome BAIcott: Glad you found us.
Tonight I'm joining the "Biggest Loser" competition at our Curves. $10 to join for the competition and if you gain a pound you have to put $1 in for each pound gained!!!! Whoever loses the biggest percentage of weight and inches will win the pot! I'm gonna give it my all!
Have a great evening everyone.

Good Friday morning everyone!! :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
BAIcott - I actually got all green balls yesterday - I couldn't believe it!!!! I guess you and I talking about them made it actually work for me
Burned 448 calories and did NOT get hesitated at the heart rate machine:happy: Yesterday was one of those days where everything just went right, I guess
Esther,
Good luck on the "Biggest Loser" competition - I know you'll be awesome!
Marla0 -
Good morning ladies. Where are you?
I am doing well with the "Biggest Loser" challenge. However, I won't know until thursday evening if I'm doing as well as others or not!
Hope you're all doing well.
Esther0 -
I have been going to Curves regularly since the first of April this year. I am doing the CurvesSmart thing and at first I got mostly green balls and I NEVER had any residual left at the end.
Lately I almost ALWAYS have residual, even when I do 3-4 machines after the Key says I am done. I feel that I am giving it 100%, but the computer does not reflect that I am progressing.
:frown: Are you supposed to be re-tested on the machines periodically or am I maybe doing something wrong? I know I need to ask the employees about it-and I will-but I wanted to know if anyone else has experianced this?0
