I'm not going to read through all 13 pages of this, but if somebody hasn't said it yet PLEASE stop referring to stretched piercings as 'gauges'. A gauge is a measurement, not a piercing. :grumble:

My BF has his ears stretched to 1 and 3/4 inch and nipples to a 4. He said the standard rings look too girly :) He also has his septum stretched, which in the year we have been dating, I have only seen a ring in once. He almost always has a retainer in it because the jewelry is so heavy now.

I like the nipples but the ears I don't mind either way. With or without I wouldn't feel differently.

I just have my belly button pierced. Just another reason to lose some weight!

I have my nose pierced, I had my ears stretched to a 2, but had to take them out because of an infection. They healed over, so now I need to redo them. Down the line, I want to get surface piercings on my collarbones as well.

I like piercings, but mostly those that are not on the face. Small lip and nose piercings look good to me, but eyebrow piercings and larger piercings directly on the face don't. I often fantasize about having a belly button piercing, but I'm too much of a wimp!!

As for stretched ears, I don't like them. :frown:

I have my ears pierced twice on right lobe, three times on left lobe, and one on cartilage (right).

I have my right nostril pierced.

    That's it.

I don't mind tattoos, or normal ish piercings, but gauges and piercings that make me hurt looking at them, no. What I mean by those are like the ones in your chest, the random ones in like cheeks... ew. They just super freak me out.

You guys are funny. Gauges is a pretty common slang term for stretched ears. Yes, it is not the absolute correct term but its pretty common and accepted. Ive had mine for almost 15 years and when someone asks about my gauges, I know what they are talking about.

I just have my belly button (which I never a ring in) and my ear lobes at the moment. I used to have my tongue pierced but it fell out while 4-wheeling and by the time I got home it had closed up, I don't plan on getting it repierced. I'd like to get my tragus done eventually.

I think gauges look good on some people but not TOO big. I'm not into the ones with like quarter sized holes in them though and I would never get them done on myself.

ETA: My boss interviewed this girl at my work today who had a monroe and it was so unattractive. She was fairly pale and had a white piercing and it was extremely ugly. Not a fan of monroes

Sorry "stretched ears". I'll gladly admit I don't know the lingo.

Don't mind 1-2 piercings in the ears. Don't like other facial piercings. including tongue. Appreciate those piercings covered by clothing. HATE gauges. And dermals creep me out.

Just because it's common doesn't mean it's right.

It was coined by a bunch of highschoolers who had no idea what they're doing, which is why when somebody refers to jewelry or a stretched piercing as 'gauges' it's just instantly assumed that they're not knowledgeable with body modification in general.

I have 0g in my ears and a nose piercing. I wear a small stone in my nose, only switching to a hoop depending on where I am going. I clean my gauges almost daily and change my plugs a lot. I like the variety. I am very conscious of cleanliness of the gauges because I think it is very necessary. =)

I have 3 in each lobe, the bottom ones are 00 and the other ones are 14. I also have an inner conch in my left ear and a helix on my right ear, both 14. My bottom lip is done in the center and my tounge has 2, one in front of the other. I used to have my right eyebrow, but took that one out years ago.

I would love to stretch my lobes a bit more, but I have really small lobes and I don't want to push it.

Most people that are professionals and very into piercings and such expect people to use the correct terminology.

It offends people on the tattoo and piercing sites I am a member of to use the incorrect terminology.

I have a few... I've had my cartilage, monroe, and helix close up which I want redone. I am getting a Christina done soon as well. Right now, all I have is my belly button, nipples, lip, three in each ear lobe, plus my cartilage on one side. The first hole in my lobes is at a 10 gauge. I probably won't go bigger than like a 6g, but I also said that I'd stop at a 10 and am reconsidering now that I'm there. We'll see...

On other people, I think anything past a 00 is a bit much. Again, just personal preference.

Not crazy about stretched ears whatsoever, but I think with the larger jewelry you can get, it makes room for some pretty cool designs to be put on them.

I've had my snakebites for three years and I love them, my face totally feels naked without them and I dread the day I get a job that makes me take them out :( I would probably get a septum if I had to take them out, just flip it up for work, although I'm very hesitant to have a needle put through my nose.
