I had a bilateral breast reduction in September. I went from an L cup to a C cup. It was the best thing I have ever done for myself. It took 6.5 pounds of pressure off my back and they are so perky now. My husband loves them. :-) I have very little back pain now and before it was almost every day. The best part. I don't need to wear a bra to keep them in place anymore. I did get an infection shortly after my surgery that took an extra 4 months to heal and I had pretty bad scars from it. My doctor went in and removed the extra scar tissue and it looks and feels so much better now.

It's the moral (and societal) issues I have when women get big beach ball boobs, even before they have kids (like that idiot famous person who got them and then was upset because she couldn't breast feed afterwards, it's like, Duh! You mess around in there with foreign objects enough and they aren't going to work properly!!) so that they are "attractive." There is nothing wrong with having little pert boobs. And I realize now that is not what you are adressing.

So I take back what I said about conforming to society, it's ok for you to want to go back to where you want to be, as long as you aren't wanting to "fix" yourself into something totally new. It was a bit naive of me to not understand where you are coming from, escpecially since I haven't had kids. And I know you don't need approval from me, I am just apologizing mostly.

Moral issues? LOL. Getting aesthetics confused with morals... isn't that difficult to do? Wow.

Yes, I consider changing your body (as in, what God gave you) drastically is a moral issue. Getting a boob job is not necessarily just aesthetics. It is a big, invasive deal, it's not like dyeing your hair. I personally beleive that you should rock and be proud of what you were given, and not try "fix" it unless there is something wrong (ie: getting reduction surgery because your back is being damaged etc). In the original poster's case, like I outlined, she really isn't trying to "fix" HERSELF, she is trying to "fix" CHANGES to her body brought on by challenging events taking a toll. That is why I consider it a more aesthetic issue (more like upkeep) than a moral issue, and why I consider getting beach ball breast implants because you aren't happy with your cute pert ones (as in, CHANGING your body drastically) a moral issue.

Because my faith is very much a part of my opinion, and this is a MESSAGE BOARD, which is for opinions. Duh.

I'm pretty sure that God (you know that imaginary friend in the sky) would want us to do things that make us happy. God created us, he also created doctors, he created doctors that are skilled in cosmetic surgery. Ergo, it is NOT immoral to get a boob job. But you just keep telling yourself that, m'kay? And say HI to your imaginary sky fair. Thx.

I had mammoplasty (reduction) it was terribly painful for about 4 weeks. You can barely use your arms....I never realized how many chest muscles you actually use to use your arms......but it was so worth it. I went from a very large size to a reasonable size. I'm only 4'11" and I was mostly breasts. i would never make mine bigger because it was a struggle for me to live with that but if you want to do it, go for it. Just don't make them so big you get back issues. My insurance paid 100% for my reduction because i'd had previous back surgery. if i have the opportunity, I will have my bat wings removed once I'm at goal if they don't go away on their own....so I am very pro-plastic surgery

Yes, yes, YES!! Do it! I used to work for a plastic surgeon and one of the "perks" (no pun intended) was free surgery.

I'm a nurse.....I so need to work for a plastic surgeon....i may get wrinkles in the next few years. Ok...going to check the classifieds now to see if any plastic surgeons are hiring.

And for the record, you CAN breastfeed successfully after augmentation. I'm proof of that. So please get your facts straight before you post fallacies.

My hubby will let me get a Mommy Maker over after I finishing losing, but I have to keep it off for two years first. That's my own stupidity though cuz I lost it all once and kept it off for a year before I started to gained it back. =(

I've been going back and forth on this. On one hand, I don't want to have unnecessary surgery. On the other hand, I want my boobs to be fuller. My boobs are like deflated balloons because they went up to 34DD when I was pregnant/breastfeeding from 34B. Now they are a small 34B, not full like it was before. I mean they are ok, but they can look better. And then I think about the recovery, the possibility of complications... it scares me. DH is supportive of whatever I choose to do. I am still going back and forth. Right now, I am more toward to no, because of cost and being a chicken.

I hope to have more kids, so I'll see afterwards, but with only one pregnancy + weight loss, my boobs are gone.
I wouldn't want a huge size, just a B or small C. I've been a 34B all my life, but before my kid, they were perky!!!
I'm also soooo scared by the surgery. My biggest fear is to never wake up after the anesthesia.
Another concern is that it's not just a once in a lifetime surgery. You have to get the implants replaced every 10-15 years, so more $$$ and more risks.

The implants they use now especially silicone do not need replacing that often. Lots of women jusft have 15 yearly checkups to be onthe safe side. Also recovery is fairly quick especially if you have them placed over the muscle. usually you can go back to work in 1 - 3 weeks anyone wanting te surgery but unsure should check out the sofeminine forums for reassurance x

haha I've actually dated more guys that were against it then for it. They like the "real thing" better but they also said if it makes you feel better then go for it.

My husband is totallly against it also, he says that boob jobs break up marriages. I would love to have one, but I am a nurse and have seen the misfortunes of many people who end up with complications (not necessarily boob jobs, but surgery in general). So I myself would probably be pretty nervous about going under the knife for elective surgery. I agree go for it if that is what you want, just do your homework on the surgeon and the facility you will be going to see what their infection rate is. Good Luck.

After breastfeeding 3 babies myself I would love to have my boobie done too! Once I'm sure I'm not having anymore I'm getting these suckers filled back out. I say go for it if it's what would make you happy! There's nothing wrong with wanting nice knockers.

I'm actually going in on the 2nd of April for a reduction XD I've always had big boobs (which also came with severe back problems) and after having my son, breastfeeding him, and then rupturing a disc (from sneezing) which resulted in me having to have back surgery at 22 (this was last summer), I finally said that I was done and went and spoke to a plastic surgeon. I can't wait!

I had mine done 10 years ago (March 2003). It was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
Do your research, interview multiple surgeons, and go with the one who is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery and who you feel comfortable with. A few hundred dollars savings is not worth a poor outcome (or a poor recovery).

I just had a breast reduction 2.5 months ago! It was a breast recuction, and a lift! Best thing I have ever done!!!!!!!!!!

I go back on forth on this. I would love to look fabulous, of course, but at the same time, I'm irritated that women are expected to have such picture perfect bodies that they have to go through surgery to accomplish it. Totally your choice, but I thought about it, and decided against it. (I was considering a tummy tuck though, not boob job)

I'm going for a reduction and lift. I love my boobs now, I would like to love them forever, a reduction and lift will work.
I WILL get a tummy tuck because I do not have children, won't even have children and *I* don't feel like I will want to carry around ANY skin that decides to not snap back. I don't have any interest in liposuctioning everything, minimal during the tummy tuck, IF my elasticity doesn't do what it's supposed to do.
