How Long Before Someone Noticed Your Loss??

I've lost just about 30 pounds now since Sept and people just started noticing and commenting on my loss a few weeks ago. Or if they don't know I've lost weight they just comment I look really good (more than usual) lol.0

Sometimes I think people don't say anything because they fear offending you.
That's def true. My boyfriend's mom told me that his sister thought I was looking skinnier now but she was afraid to say anything to me about it in case I would get upset.0 -
It depends on the people, someone noticed after i lost 4 pounds once. People also notice more when you act more confident0

I've lost 66 pounds and still have not had any comments on the weight loss. Only people who know that I am trying have said anything. But I'm not doing it for them, and know that I have lost around 50 inches off my body! So for me, I don't need the satisfaction of their comments0

I agree with the people who said that friends and family don't always say anything because they are afraid of offending you. I have only lost 4 lb and I said something at work the other day. The lady I work with said that she noticed my stomach was flatter when I was sitting on floor with the kids (I work in preschool) and another lady said that my arms look more toned. If I hadn't said anything, they wouldn't have said anything either. Now that they said that, I am noticing, too0

My first (non-family) COMMENT was yesterday. I have lost a total of 45 lbs since January 344 down to 299. My 48 pants are all too large now and I can wear some 44 pants -- I did today. However, I am aware that people DO notice but don't necessarily say anything. It can be awkward for many. I think it really depends on what the setting is, your height, your initial weight... etc.0

My mom began noticing after 20. Around 25 my aunt noticed and several others I don't see often did too. At 31 my hairdresser who I only see once a month or once every three months depending noticed my face was slimmer.0

My best friend knows what i'm up to and she comments all the time. So much so that it's hard to really tell if the difference is actually noticeable or she just wants to encourage me.
I live far far away from most of my friends and family and had a visit with my friends at around 16 pounds lost. One friend noticed immediately when i took off my sweater and was wearing only a camisole. I think the difference was more in the muscle definition than the weight loss since i'm working with a personal trainer.
I won't actually see my family, and a big group of my friends until the 4th of July weekend, at which point my goal is to be down right around 50 pounds, so i am very excited for that moment. I'm expecting no one to recognize me when they come to pick me up at the airport!
And although no one else has said anything (I'm now 22 pounds down - started losing a bit before MFP), i do get the odd compliment like "you look good in jeans," which i assume is people noticing SOMETHING, but they're not quite sure what.
I am a little discouraged that i am not dropping pants sizes yet, but overall i know i am heading in the right direction and once i get to a normal, closer to healthy size, people are going to be amazed - me included. So i just keep my head down, log my food, go to the gym and wait . . .0 -
I started out at 246 and I'm 5'3.5. My mom and sister started to notice around 25 pounds. A few of my coworkers started to notice around 30 pounds. Now that I have hit 55 pounds, everyone has taken notice and have jumped on the wagon.0

It's not that people don't notice. It's that they don't know if they should say something.
It wasn't till someone offered me one of the cupcakes she was handing out and I declined saying it wasn't in my calories for that day, did she then say, 'Oh I noticed you had lost weight, I just didn't know what you were doing.'
So, they notice.0 -
It took me buying some new threads for some people to notice. A gal in our Employee Dining area was like... Ryan have you lost weight?0
-
I'm at 133, down from 149, no one has noticed yet I think part of the problem is that I'm still wearing the same clothes.0
-
I took about 55 pounds - and I only had two people notice so far... really wierd, because I am down from a size 24 to a 14-16.0

One woman at works said, "Wow, you've lost a lot of weight, haven't you?" (after ten pounds).
The other sitting next to her, "OH? From where, I can't see that she's lost any weight."0 -
I lost 30 lbs since nov.2012 and the other day my husband looked at me and said your butt is getting smaller! No one else had said a word.0
-
People started to notice around the 15 lb mark for me. One thing I really noticed is that if I kept wearing my fat clothes, nobody noticed but as soon as I bought/wore nicer fitting clothes, people noticed.0
-
At 28 and 3 months and no one has said anything. But in a month and a half is my lil sis's graduation and I get to see family and friends I haven't seen since the holidays so I'm hoping I'm down 40 and they notice :-)0
-
I've lost 15lbs and no one has really noticed. It's not really that noticeable yet, except that everything fits better. I've gained more than that over the last 6 months though, so people have seen me smaller and bigger so I don't expect anyone to notice.0

Sometimes you have to wear smaller clothes before people will notice.0

So I'm wondering how many pounds it book for you to get that first compliment...
My long distance boyfriend saw me for the 1st time in 2 weeks and I was quite disappointed he didn't notice my 10 pound lost....or at least pretend he did since he knows I've been working so hard to loose the weight. I'm trying not to get bummed over it but remember if I keep losing he'll have to recognize eventually.
About how much weight do you think it takes to start to noticeably look smaller? (My starting weight was 155, size 10/12.)
I have a woman that works a few cubes from me and I notice when she loses 10 pounds... although she goes up and down on the weight like I get in and out of my chair at work... (yes I have tried to recommend MFP) As for my own weight loss I had people noticing when I had dropped 10 pounds. So if your BF didn't mention it it may be that he didn't think he needed to or he really didn't know what you looked like before... although that is probably not the case. lol0 -
It took someone roughly a month to notice that the weight was starting to come off. A lot of people really didn't notice it too much until I got past the 50 lb mark.0
-
I got my first complements at about 20lbs lost. Apparently my face showed it as well as my waist. I'm quite larger than you starting at 270 and a size 22/24, but I think that it takes more than 10lbs for people to catch the loss... no matter your starting size/weight.0

I have 30 lbs to lose. I've lost 7.6 lbs in 5 weeks. I've barely noticed and no one else has either. Just got to keep on keeping on. I do feel so much better knowing that 1/4 of the way there. I'm thinking 3 more pounds and it'll start to show. I'm 5'0" and I carry my weight in my face, arms, boobs, tummy, butt, hips, thighs, fingers. My ankles, wrists, and ears are very skinny though!0
-
about 15 pounds my coworkers started noticing...at 20 some people i converse with at the gym began noticing.0
-
I have lost over 30lbs and so far only 1 person has noticed. My starting weight was 165 and now I am 131, you would think more people would notice. It is definitely disappointing.0
-
I love this!0
-
I have lost 37 pounds and last night, for the 1st time, someone besides my husband said to me, wow, you've really lost weight! Why ye, yes I have. Thank you for noticing!0
-
When I went to visit home after I'd lost 26 lbs, no one but my Aunt and BFF, who knew I'd lost weight, said anything. When I went home after I lost 30 lbs, everyone noticed.0
-
I have lost 18 and people notices yesterday. It probably depends on where you lose it. I wore a dress that really showed off the weight loss in my stomach. Now my face is the last to lose weight, so if I wore loose clothing you probably couldn't tell.0
