I have not witnessed any ageism on MFP. Can you point to any specific examples?

There's a lot more hatred toward McDonalds than old people around here... since all of the regular pedo-memes are covered, I just thought I'd add that I have yet to see any ageism on MFP.

Wow, I'm almost 40 and never noticed any ageism going on here. Maybe I don't go looking for it. You're young, enjoy it. :)

Theres an age thing on MFP?

If you are talking about people who only want to add between a certain age well thats their choice, some people are not comfortable around older or younger people. And some people feel they have nothing in common with older or younger people and they want to surround themselves with like minded people. I don't think thats really agism, I think its a personal thing...

What are you talking about? And since when is 28 old? You don't have to worry about turning 30 until you're 29. :flowerforyou:

This post says more about you than anyone else. I'm about to turn 47 and never once have I felt any sort of age related anything. It's been a great experience so far.

This didn't require a *****y thread to be posted about it. Some people relate better to those that are near their own age.

For me personally, I prefer people without a stick up their *kitten*, no matter what age.

What's wrong with wanting friends you can better relate to? It's not ageism just because you don't want everyone to be your friend.

That's you. Some people might feel that they can relate better to people who are their own age. Just don't be friends with them. *confused*

I honestly don't know what you are talking about, but it makes me sad that you feel old at 28.

My sister and her friends think the worst thing that can happen is to not be married before 25. I just turned 26 and that makes me laugh.

I have more in common with people 10+ years my senior on here than some of the 20 somethings.

(I should this means I don't love having lots younger friends, but I don't check ages before accepting FRs. It just happens that I don't have as much in common with an 18 year old as a 35 year old. I've been told I'm mature for my age.)

i turn 39 this year, and i've never been more fit.
i wouldn't want to go back to my 20s.

i adore and encourage all my MFP friends, regardless of age.
even the ones that are really old. like, 40.

You may have a 50 year old who behaves like a 20 year old so age is JUST A NUMBER.

I don't really understand what ageism has occurred, but I agree, age is just a number.

I'm glad you are comfortable making friends with people of any age, but why are you judging people for having a personal preference in their own relationships?

Ok, first of all, you are just a baby! I'm turning 50 so you have no reason to feel 'old'. Second, I haven't noticed any agism going on at old, perhaps I'm not looking for it either, but in either case, when you're my age you don't give a 'D___" anymore. Toughen up girl!
