There was a potluck at work today.
    I made the yummiest dip!

    1 block cream cheese
1 small can salsa (I used Embassa)
    1/2 cup grated cheddar
    1 can chopped olives
    Mix it all up!

You could add some green chilies, different cheeses, chili powder, green onions or whatever. I was just trying to avoid going to the store.
It's good with celery & red pepper strips for dipping. Then I found Town House Pretzel Crackers at WMart. They're really good. Fewer calories & carbs than most crackers & I expected to have some left over, so I wanted them to be as good as possible.

She didn't give any amt. Just dump till it looks good.

Georg--- I am going to look for the town house pretels. when i go to Wal mart Wed. Hope the carbs are low enought that i can have more than just one. Your dip sounds good also. I love dips

I know the carbs in almost all crackers are too much for me. And the sodium and sugars in regular crackers in the grocery stores are just too much.

When I want a "cracker" - I eat Wasa Fiber crispbread. I found these in the Deli section of Schnucks grocery store...........

1 cracker will fill you up, I put a slice of deli meat, cheese, mustard and make a make shift sandwich, or chicken salad, tuna salad, etc.........

Here is the info on the Townhouse Pretzel Crackers........There is no fiber in those crackers......

Lioness, Will look for those crackers. I broke down and had 2 pieces of white bread for lunch. I usally keep whole wheat bread in the freezer but since i am waching my carbs I haven't bought no bread for me. My husband still eat white bread. Oh that sandwich was so good. along with a bowl of fresh strawberries. And I don't feel guilty about it. I may have to go back and count my calories. for meat is not my way of eating. I got to get this work out, somehow. Will stick to the carb plan tonight. My blood sugar is running good now or was. See how it is tonight.

Jerry and I went out and pick out some carpet this morning. they will be out Thurs. to measure the room. We got a pretty blue color. We wont get it lay before Jerry brother and his wife get here but I feel better just to know its on its way.

    Everybody have a nice day.

  • Hello CC Peeps,
I am new to Fitness Pal and the message boards. I have been on a LC way of eating just since Sunday. I was doing it on my own but only after one day of LC eating, I realized I need to get support online from people who have knowledge and experience to share to a newbie as myself. I have alot of weight to lose. (over 100 lbs) :noway: but I have no one to blame but myself.
I hope to be active in the forum and please don't be upset if I have questions. Sometimes silly ones too I'm afraid.

So, I'm just popping in but will be back Wednesday with a more indept introduction. I have to get back to work for now.

Have a blessed, cheat free day!

    Good morning everyone!!!

It went well with the Naturopath yesterday and I am on a vitamin regime for thyroid support and was prescribed pro-biotics and amino acids for getting my adrenal glands, thyroid and pituitary gland back on track..............I am also on a diabetic support formula, I am getting off the Metformin and going to go about this in a holistic approach.

The urine and saliva test they performed tested positive for heavy metals, such as Mercury.

    Me too!!!

I am finding that the natural meds from the Naturopath seem to be working good and fast!!!

I am up at 2:45 am and feeling GREAT!!!! Now if the weight will just start going away again. I am eating right and now starting to feel good again, please weight fall off of me!!!

It's getting hot outside and the extra blubber makes me even hotter....................and miserable. Nevermind that it hurts for me to walk and work out.

    Howdy all,

I have been doing Low Carb for a little over 1 week. I have previously lost a significant amount of weight doing atkins. I had lost 70lbs. before and even kept it off for a couple of years. I had some family issues and became depressed. I started eating whatever i felt like from that point on. So, obviously, i gained it all back. Took about a year or so, but it came back.

I have been tryin to lose weight since then. all unsuccessful. So I decided to give low carb another shot. I was very happy with my previous successes and I am convinced if i can repeat it, I can work hard to keep it off.

So, I'm back at it. Lost 10 lbs so far. I've been using this site to track everything i eat. last time i lost 70lbs, writing everything down helped me greatly. I had notebooks with ALL the food i ate, a printout from atkins.com of the carb count in everyday food, and other information/recipes/etc. that i carried around with me everywhere. So far i haven't gone to that extent, but This site has definitely helped me keep track of everything.

If you have a chance to go to a Brazilian Barbeque restaurant, it's a low carb dream!
You should give it a try. A little pricey if you're used to fast food prices, but wonderful!
There's usually an exotic appetizer/salad bar/side dish buffet, then they start bringing meat on skewers to your table & slice a little off for you. You tell them if you want more of one, or not at all. Each waiter brings a different meat, if you don't want them to keep bringing meat, you signal them you're finished.
    Tonight we had
    lamb
    spicy chicken
    bacon wrapped turkey
    parmesan crusted pork
    Brazilian steak
    tri tip steak
    pepper beef
    linguica sausage
    chicken wings
    garlic steak
    top sirloin
    pineapple
    shrimp
    It was all delicious!

Hey peeps! I finally found you! We moved into our temp house and I'm glad to be settled but we had A LOT of cleaning to do and I lost my cat. I'm afraid he might be hiding so I will give him a couple days. My eating habits have gone downhill completely! I have eaten more fast food in he past 4 week than I have in 4 years! Tomorrow I'm going back to phase 1 to get rid of the sugar and carb cravings again. I am going to make sure I check in every day and I hope you guys help keep me accountable!!

    I missed you all.

So glad to see you back Crys. that moving is a job. I'm glad our moving days are over with. We have live in this house for over 50 years. But we had our share of Moving for Jerry was in the Air Force and seems like we were always moving.

I think I need to get South Beach diet book out too and reread it. I never did look into Phase 2 of it. I think thats where I went wrong. But I don't want to do phase 1 overagain/ No way will I give up my fruit again. And I like my bread too well. there is noting better on a hot day like a good sandwhich with a big old sl of tomatoe. I don't missed Rice, spaggetti, potatoes. But I wasn't getting enought of fiber and had a bad case of Bm problem. For now I am counting calories and watching my carbs pretty closely. But not to the extreme.

    Have a wonderful day.Marie

yes, to be successful with any of the low carb plans, you have to read the book and move through the phases.............

I need to find a good sunflower bread or oat bread. I can't have wheat.

I had a very nice weekend.
Went to the doctor and had lost 9 lbs since I seen her, BP was fine, I am beginning to feel better about walking now.
Waiting for Jerry's brother to pop in any minute now. We will go out to eat. We rented them a room here by us at a motel. then they will head out for houston to visit some of her kinfolks.

    See you guys later.
