Girls Without Makeup?

I never wear makeup, even though I have really bad skin. I've gotten it professionally done several times before and it always looks horrible. I usually don't like how makeup looks on other girls, either, no matter how "natural" it's supposed to look. The exception would be like, over the top, almost performance type makeup for special events, in which case, you're supposed to know the person has something on their face. I am honestly not very attractive naturally (most people would probably say I'm exactly the type of person who would benefit from makeup), but it's never hindered me from finding love.

Also, I guard my monthly video game allowance like nobody's business, so even if I didn't dislike makeup I still wouldn't spend the money on it.

All that being said, I guess a lot of girls like it and feel more confident in it for whatever reason, which is not really any of my business. So I try not to pay attention to it!

I used to wear it all the time when I was younger. Then I had a kid and moved to Texas where its like 9,000 degrees during the summer and makeup will literally melt off your face 3 steps out the door. I still wear it for special occassions or if Im going out with the girls or something. But it makes my face itch once I start sweating. If I lived somewhere cooler I would totally wear it more since I feel sooo much prettier and have more confidence when I wear it.

I am extremely plain without makeup, and I have no eyelashes:


That being said, no one looks at me when I'm in makeup either, so I pretty much just wear it to make myself feel less homely and not to get attention.

I very rarely wear makeup. Eating better and exercising has made the skin on my face even better than it was before.

I never wear make up! Unless it is a special occasion! It is 10 mins of life that I could be sleeping, running, lifting, horse riding, playing with my dausghter, playing with my OH or doing 100 other activities I would much rather do!!

My sister is forever complaining at me for this!! I just don't see why I should! My OH fell in love with me without make up on so why should I wear it for anyone else and I don't buy the wearing it to make myself feel good idea either!! Feeling attractive comes from within not plastering crap on my face!!

I need eyeliner and mascara.
my eyes are very 'unpretty' without them.

other than that i dont wear any other makeup. sometimes lip gloss for a dressy event. I have a few freckles but here in US...i hear they are not ugly!! i wish i'd heard that when i was in India!

The last time I wore makeup was a year ago, and lord knows how long before that. I don't begrudge people their makeup but I honestly feel like I don't need it, so I don't use it!

If I don't wear it, people think I'm sick and/or tired. I get sick and tired of hearing that, so I make sure to wear - at the least - concealer and mascara.

Interesting thought:

A study done recently shows the makeup makes you look "more competent and trustworthy," unless you wear too much, and then it just makes you look like a you-know-what.

I think this is probably because it is socially expected for women to wear a bit of makeup, and if they aren't it is often times when they are otherwise unkempt (running to the grocery store to pick up some milk, "didn't have time" to change out of sweats or put on makeup).

For those of you that don't wear any, you might want to consider the role this is playing on your professional career...not saying it is or isn't fair, just saying people are going to judge you on your looks, AS ALWAYS. Be careful! :flowerforyou:

I ♥ Makeup!!! It's just fun, and I like playing around with colors, and I think it makes me look more put together.

Yep, this is me! I don't wear it every single day, but I definitely wear it to work, usually to church, and for a night out of course. I just love playing around with it and feeling pretty and polished. Also, as others have stated, my eyelashes are pretty much non existent when I don't wear mascara. I also look a bit younger than I am (I'm only 25), and I work with high schoolers, so I feel like it makes me look more like an adult or something.

Almost never. My skin is dramatic, and flips out at me for putting anything from sunscreen to lipstick on.
I will wear mascara or mineral powder if I'm going out, and if I'm really feeling daring Burt's Bees sparkly pink lip balm. (but that is only on the really wild days!)
